Came to celebrate a friend's birthday. Definitely enjoyed the white suburban mom vibe, it's as if I had a glimpse into my future, minus the "white" part. Docking two stars for the service. I got there before happy hour ended and when the waitress approached me, I told her I want one of each of the happy hour flatbreads. I guess she misheard me and thought I wanted one of each flatbread. So my table of three ended up with five total flatbreads when we only ordered two and when I tried talking to the waitress about it, she wouldn't back down until I agreed to take the flatbreads and pay for them. Worst part - the flatbreads that we DIDN'T want tasted like ass. I understand, it was a busy night (Folsom moms like to get wine drunks on Tuesday nights apparently), but I would've appreciated it more if the waitress was more accommodating? Like, why she did not question me when she thought I ordered that much food for three person is like also questionable when she read back the drink orders for my friends multiple times before leaving our table. I held a very special graduation party here on Saturday - we had an open bar and all you can eat tapas/canape's. Lisa Gomez and her team are phenomenal. Her sister Sarah and Lisa's daughter served my family and friends with the best customer care I have ever experienced. I work in Customer Service, and this team is top notch. The live music, the food (ahi crisps, meatball, mac n cheese, chicken bacon tacos, etc. etc etc etc) the service and ambiance were ALL PERFECT. Location also allowed our out-of-town guests close access to the hotel near by. I cannot wait to see the pictures. I will add them to the review once received from the photographer. The space held all our 48+ friends and family nicely. Perfect, dark window coverings to block out the insane sun light. We were able to give some lightweight speeches, and even mingle outdoors once the sun set. I will continue to frequent this small business because they have earned it. Citizen Vine is a cozy little wine and tapas bar located in Old Folsom. Right now, during COVID times, they have a lot of outdoor tables and seating set up on the street and sidewalk. We were walking by and noticed a delicious looking cheese platter so we stopped and checked out the menu. We decided to dine outdoors under the tents that were set up. We ordered the Charcuterie & Cheese Board ($23), which comes with set items of crostinis, Mediterranean olives, garlic cottage cheese, Ruffles potato chips, walnuts, dried cranberries, cornichons, fig jelly, mini pickles, AND allows you to choose three items from the cheese and meats menu. Off the cheese menu, we chose Purple Haze, which is a lavender and fennel, soft goat cheese, and Bourbon Gouda. From the meats menu, we chose the warm andouille sausage with dijon and spicy chipotle. We also ordered the caramelized onion and goat cheese flatbread ($9), gold digger IPA ($6), and acai lemonade ($6). After we ordered, the cheese platter came out fairly quickly, however, it turned out, the cheese platter that was dropped off, was not ours. It belonged to the table next to us and they have been waiting quite awhile for their cheese board. We also knew they had dropped off the wrong platter because the meats and cheeses ordered were different than the ones we ordered. The table next to us decided to cancel their order and left. We got our drinks first and the acai lemonade had a really nice flavor to it. You can taste the berry from the acai and it was great with the lemonade. It does have some alcohol, it wasn't too strong. The caramelized onion and goat cheese flatbread was outstanding! The flatbread was cooked perfectly and in total, it has SO much flavor. It was definitely my favorite order from Citizen Vine. The flatbread isn't too large, but it is big on flavor. The charcuterie and cheese bread was huge. The board itself is huge and it comes with small portions of a bunch of different small items. The best items for me were the fig jelly, bourbon gouda, and lavender and fennel goat cheese. The garlic cottage cheese dip was also really good. The andouille sausage was okay. I though the dijon and spicy chipotle were in the flavor of the sausage, but it was just a dab of sauce on the side. It was good, but I would probably order a different meat next time. The waitress stated the prosciutto was popular. The portion of cheeses were small, but it is probably to be expected on a charcuterie board. Overall, we had a really great experience at Citizen Vine. The food and drinks were great and the vibe was positive and relaxing. Service was a bit slow, but they only had one waitress and almost all the tables and seating areas were full so you could see she was Very busy. Our waitress had short red hair and she was super nice and provided great customer service. There were a few mishaps at other tables, but ours was a-ok. They do have a happy hour menu at Citizen Vine, which looked interesting to try sometime. read more

Started going here because it's a mile away from our home, kept coming back because the red sangria is amazing, and will continue to go back because Sarah is absolutely amazing. It's like you're immediately best friends with her! Meatballs were my absolute fave until Sarah recommended the bacon ranch chicken tacos. I didn't know what to expect but from What I read on the reviews, I was excited to try. After eating here, I'm not sure this place is for me. No, I know it's not for me. We ordered the tri-tip Cristini, asparagus puffed pastry, and the caramelized onion flat bread. The flatbread was very thin which was nice. I did enjoy the flavors for the most part. The tri- tip was easy to eat however the meat was very thinly sliced. I wanted it to be thicker to get more of the flavor of the meat, but overall it had a decent flavor. Lastly, I would not suggest ordering the asparagus puff pastry dish. It's really messy to eat. The asparagus was extremely oversalted. Maybe that doesn't happen regularly but it took over everything. And the puffed pastry was not cooked all the way through so it was very gooey. And with the sauce added, it made the whole dish gooey and not very edible. Now for the restaurant. I felt for the style of the place and the prices, I expected a little more in service. I know it's so hard to find staff right now, but that isn't the problem. When you try to deliver a particular experience, the wait staff should match. I felt they were all under dressed. To me, that alone took away from the atmosphere. Our waitress was a bit in-your-face. Meaning, I didn't feel like I was being serviced, but more like "are you done?" Instead of attending to the table and the needs we may have had, it was more like "what do you want next" so it felt a bit rushed. There was not anyone waiting at the door so there was no need for that. An example was when we received the asparagus dish there was no way to eat it. We were not given any utensils or a knife to cut. And it was hard to get her attention because as I mentioned it wasn't like we were being serviced. read more

Great little wine bar on Sutter Street with an extensive by the glass list and tasty bites to match. Loved the local wines on the list, especially the Oak Ridge bubbly from Lodi. They also have flights which will be a lot of fun, and if you don't like wine, they also have some decent beers. We tried both the ahi bites and margherita flat bread and they were perfect accompaniments for the wine. I don't think that you could get too full but it does go very well with the wines. We enjoyed our first visit here so much we returned-it's our 2nd time here for happy hours (Tues-Sat 4-6pm). $6 for select wines and bites- not a bad price! The food was appetizer size and a good deal for the happy hour price, so delicious!! We got the carnitas tacos, bacon and Brussels flat bread as well as the puff pastry butternut squash bites . What a hidden little gem! My friend rented this place out for a graduation party and everything turned out perfect. Staff were friendly and food was on point. Bartenders even made sure to serve waters to balance out the alcohol- much appreciated. Ambience was rustic and relaxed, but with a hip vibe. Live acoustic entertainment was a nice touch. Parking was not so great, but I now know to go straight to the residential area instead of hunting for a spot in the tiny parking garages and lots. Sunday are apparently sangria Sundays which means they are $6 instead of $10. They are huge glasses tho and do NOT have brandy included so they didn't taste as good (to us) as normal sangria. Nice little wine bar. We stopped on in while waiting for our reservation for dinner across the street. We were greeted right away and asked if we had a reservation. We did not have a reservation but it wasn't a problem at all. On our table we had a very extensive wine list and a nice little menu. While ordering our drinks and food we were informed that the kitchen was out of a few entrées but that wasn't a big deal. We tried a few wine's by the glass and a flat bread pizza. The pizza paired very well with our wine choice and was perfectly cooked. The only down side to our visit was that there was alot of flies buzzing around inside the restaurant. This business deserves the stars for uber-friendly service and fun atmosphere. I'm not totally in love with the food, but it works on the level of elevated pub fare. Took hubby and 86-year-old mother-in-law on Friday night. Called first at 7:30 to see if we needed/could get reservations. I could hear how busy it was in the background, and the woman who answered the phone let me know that there was one table left and also some couch seating and it shouldn't be a problem if we were coming right over. We were 10 min away so we went on over. And that table was still available. It was right in front of the 2 musicians playing for the evening. I wasn't sure how MIL was going to like being that close to the music, but you know what? She totally got into it and really enjoyed them (it was Garcia & Medina...if you see them on the website calendar, go see them...they were terrific). And all night, the servers were kind and attentive. Even at the end, when MIL wanted to pay, and our server brought over the iPad-ish thing for paying, and had to walk her through how the tipping choices worked and where to tap etc. She sat down right next to her and helped her. It was awesome. I got a sangria (Yelp check-in special) and hubby got wine. We ordered Smoked Chipotle Cheddar Mac & Cheese, Ahi Crisps, Brussels Sprouts & Bacon Flatbread, chicken tacos, some kind of chicken & sauce dip and maybe one more thing I'm not remembering. The service has been very good every time I been here. The staff give you any information you might want on the wines on hand and the flights available. We stopped in for some amazing live music from John Voelz, who offered a good array of songs he had either written or made his own. The gathered crowd appreciated his offering and gave back with laughter, smiles, sing-a-longs, and applause that filled the space with good vibes. As if that wasn't enough, the sangria with the coolest looking ice cubes and some delicious tapas made the night even better. I won't come back again. If you do end up going here don't order any food for fear they will screw it up and then do nothing about it. I ordered two pizzas - these are small so a guy can easily eat two. The meaty sweet & spicy and the margherita with pepperoni added. They made the margherita with sweet & spicy sauce and the other without. I told our server (gal) and she said "oh, I'll check with the cook" and that was about it. I asked here again, what about the pizzas and she said I told the cook. I left the pizzas half eaten. At a minimum she could have only charged me for one of the two pizzas or neither but she did nothing. I didn't feel like arguing so I paid (super small tip) and decided we wouldn't never be going back there again. Never. I don't recommend anyone go here. They suck. read more

We went on a Saturday, They were clearly busy, not sure if they were short staffed, but either way we weren't in a hurry and we were enjoying the company of each other so didn't matter that food was taking a longer time. When she came to check on us to see if everything was ok we made the mistake of telling her we were still just waiting on an item (it had been over 30 minutes, it was obvious it was forgotten). She looked at us and snapped "it'll come out when it's ready" Of course, it comes out shortly after and she's super sweet thanking us for our patience blah blah. That was 3rd reprimand we received from her that evening. Won't get into the others, but after each time of her snapping at us she'd come back being really nice. It appeared she was stressed out in the moment and was annoyed by our questions. The other bad thing, when they check you out they stand over with their machine, so you have to tip as they're watching you! Such a bad feature, CV should really change that. It's so awkward for the customer. I tipped her more than I would've if I was able to write in privacy. Just because you're short staffed doesn't give you a pass to be rude to paying customers. read more
