I use the Redmond Way UPS store because the staff is very friendly and helpful. I take 20 to 40 prepaid packages there every week and they unload my car for me using their hand truck and take them inside for me. They patiently scan each package so I can get a receipt and with in minutes I am on way. They are a great store and very helpful. The old lady there was pretty rude, when I was a little bit slow in responding her questions. First she saw me there waiting to be served and asked me what help I needed. But before I answered her, she saw another person she knew coming in from a door on the other side and said a loud "how are you" to that person, breaking me answer! I had 2 packages to ship, one had a label ready for scan and another doesn't. She asked me "where is the label", on which I was thinking which package she was asking and didn't responded quickly, then she asked again. I told her. After that she finished scanning without telling me I was done, and handed over receipts to me without even looking at me or even telling me what were these. I have been a mailbox customer for over 8 years and have always had great service from Mario and everyone else at this location (and I am not easy to please...at least that is what I have been told :-)) This store is in a great location in Redmond and does get quite busy, especially around closing time and on weekends. The staff are busy and always multitasking (who isn't nowadays) but they always acknowledge the customers. If they make a mistake, they acknowledge it and fix it: how refreshing and unusual! Seems like some of the reviewers expect staff to drop everything and run over every time someone walks in with a package or a question. Setting down a package and walking out of a store??? Try that in the US Post Office, FedEx or UPS distro center: you will likely be surrounded and questioned in short order. Someone "shouting at you or the clouds" (WTH...) will be the least of your worries. I have personally observed the staff going out of their way to help customers understand pricing, shipment delivery times, packing requirements, etc. Some of the customers are very rude and impatient and act as if the store employees personally determine prices and shipping requirements. Other customers come in with an attitude about a package delivery delay due to weather. Store staff are very good but not yet good enough to control weather! One woman walked in, barreled past the rest of us in line and demanded her package. She was waving a delivery slip around and said UPS left her a note on her door to come down and pick up her package. The staff calmly looked at her delivery note and pointed out to her it clearly stated she needed to go to the central UPS facility on Union Hill. She stormed out without so much as a thank you. If I had to deal with this much rudeness and morons everyday, I would probably be in jail. Reviewers need to give these guys a break. They do a great job! read more

I MISS THIS STORE! I had a box here for two years and now I'm at another location, I realize how good I had it there. The owners/operators are friendly and knew my name and box number. Service was fast and friendly. The UPS Store where I have a box now is completely different . Every time I go to get a package, it's like pulling teeth. I realized I walked into the wrong place after I left and read most reviews about rude customer service here. Today I experienced the person helping me was very rude through the entire transaction. Repeating frantically the information he was typing then only with his hand gestures telling me what to do, repeating wait, wait, wait as he was waving his hand in front of me. Then he said "what? I told you we don't do ....." The owners are actually very pleasant, but today the 2 other employees there were supporting the rude employee saying he is new and he is learning. They are completely missing the point about customer service, did not apologize although they saw this new employee was treating customers un- respectfully. I see employees closing the store two minutes earlier than the closing time. I arrived at 5:58pm and the employee was already in the process of locking the door. The system was shutdown and the lights were off. If the store is already closed and locked up at 6pm, it must mean that the employee started packing up and closing down at least five minutes ago. How can the store timings be until 6pm if the door is expected to be locked at 6pm? They are nonchalant about this when confronted and simply proceed to walk away. Update. I met the employee that was leaving during the instance in the review. She showed me a time card that was punched out at 6:00pm. I recall seeing that the time in my cellphone was 5:58pm when I saw her locking the door. Also she said that they can still serve customers until six since they have prepared the system for the next day. What I can conclude beyond doubt is that you should arrive much before closing time else you may encounter a situation like me. read more

This is likely the worst retail location I've ever been to. I've been here five times in the past two years. The first four times were bad but tolerable, and consisted of me being blatantly ignored by staff for upwards of five minutes while they carry on personal conversations in the back office (despite them seeing me in the store and even making eye contact). The most recent experience was far worse though. I had been quoted $28 at the post office to ship a flat poster box, so I decided to come to the UPS Store to see if they had a better price. The employee, Mario, weighed and measured the package and quoted me $16 and change. At this point I noticed that the box I had wasn't terribly sturdy. I asked if they happened to sell boxes in this shape and size to see if they had a better option for a couple dollars. Mario, without saying a word, grabbed two pieces of scrap cardboard from a garbage pile and taped them to the outside of the box to prevent it from bending. Initially, I thought that I might actually be having a good experience at this store for once. Then Mario re-weighed and measured the package, acted surprised, and said the price jumped up to $29.09 because of the extra weight. Since it wasn't a big difference from the post office's quote, I said to just go ahead and ship it, at which point Mario told me he'd also charge me $3 for the cardboard scraps. When I got home and looked at the receipt, I saw the issue. The actual shipping cost had jumped to $17.34 (which was expected for the small increase in weight), but there was an additional handling fee that was manually added to the price in the amount of $11.75. I tried contacting the UPS Store customer service about this, so they passed my information to the store owner, asking that he contact me directly to resolve the issue. Instead of actually contacting me, the owner replied via email just to the UPS Store customer service group. I spoke to them today to follow up and see what was going on (it has been about three weeks since the initial complaint). The rep on the phone read to me the owner's email, which contained several lies about the situation. The store owner claimed Mario had offered to remove the cardboard to bring the price back down, and he claimed that the cardboard was some sort of high-grade cardboard that they generally sell on the sales floor. Additionally, despite having never even spoken to me directly, he called me grumpy and made a number of other personal attacks against me. The rep on the phone was thankfully so appalled by this email, she took care of refunding me the additional handling fee and the cardboard charge as a result. She also lodged a formal complaint against this location and explained that these complaints are considered when the store comes up for franchise renewal. If there are enough complaints, they may not be allowed to renew the franchise. If anyone else has had such bad experiences at this location, please contact the MBE customer service number (800-789-4623). Maybe if they don't get renewed we'll get a new owner and new staff in this location to make it tolerable to shop at. read more

I just got done dropping off a couple of Dyson heating fans that are part of a massive recall underway. So when I arrived I was greeted by both employees who were already familiar with the recall. When they saw I had two fans they noted right away I'd need two shipping slips which I had and ready to go. So they told me I was good to go and would be emailed the tracking info in a little while. Well I'm trusting of folks but when I drop off two fans that are worth $800 combined I need to leave with tracking info in hand. When I informed them that I'd wait, the sales lady noted no problem she would take care of processing both while I waited. The gentlemen asked her if she was sure of that and she said yes, so he started to package up both fans per their detailed specs from UPS & Dyson. It helped that they were not busy at that moment but it started to after a few minutes but the sales lady completed processing as promised and walked over to me to give me the completed tracking receipts. I thanked her for her efforts and noted I would give them a well deserved review. God knows after reading all of the various complaints that this establishment needs a Kudo which they earned today; especially the customer service lady working the counter 4/4/14 @ 4pm.. FYI...I've reviewed the other local UPS stores before stopping by today and there seems to be a pattern of bad reviews across the board, which says something about UPS corporation in general. read more

We've had poor luck with this outfit. They are, in my view, not pleasant to deal with and, when we had a package lost last holidy season, they were not even that. (The package finally arrived with the contents destroyed despite professional packaging, but that's another story.) One thing we have learned about UPS stores in general is that UPS WILL ship firearms to a legal FFL and ORM-D quantities of ammunition, but the UPS STORES WILL NOT. When you take the store attendants to the UPS website to show them UPS policy, the folks behind the counter are quick to point out that they are NOT UPS but "UPS Stores". They want no part of "eeww - guns" or "explosives - ammunition". Of course, in Redmond the "real" UPS is so close there seems no point in patronizing the patronizing folks at the franchise outlet. Not so much what they will or won't do. It's the response. read more

They refused to help another customer who arrived right at 6 pm closing time without as much as a "sorry". They charged me 11 dollars for a f***ing cardboard box, even wanted to add extra dollars for tape. Definitely will not be coming back here. I had my toddler in tow and the ladies working not only helped me retrieve the items I needed to ship from my car, but helped me prepare the items for shipment while I paid. The company I work for as set-up house accounts at all the UPS stores so that if employees need to send mail or receive a fax, they simply need to go to a UPS store near them. I saw this one in the middle of Redmond, PERFECT, I thought. So after a couple of days for approval from my company I go to set-up a house account. Why I get told to come back when the General Manager is around is beyond me. After me having to explain what a house account is he told me that I had to do it online. AHH I only wish UPS would be technologically advanced to do this, but unfortunately you have to set-up a new account at each location. We mail hundreds of dollars worth of packages and mail every month. I'm was hoping to switch from the crossroads UPS store to the Redmond location, but after the reviews and my experience, I'm not sure I want to trade one bad customer service location for another. First visit here. Had to return a purchase on my dime so figgered UPS would be the cheapest way to go. Had my item all boxed up nicely and expected a nominal charge. Whoo boy was I wrong...the owner (what a nice man!) explained to me that the new dim factor would make the cost of UPS or USPS almost as much as the item had cost me! He opened the box, directed me to a soft Tyvek (?) envelope, and saved me a bundle. while i was there many locals came in to check their mailboxes and he knew them all by name. He turned what could've been an awful and expensive experience into a "make this day great" kinda thing. 5 stars for goodness and humanity. read more

This is a family run business with all three generations working there and caring about its success. A good sign, in my book. But the main reason we picked it for our mailbox location is that it's open on Sundays. Very convenient. Plus they always let me use their bathroom. :-) read more

Every time I try to come to my local ups I have a terrible customer experience. I always feel like a burden or a hassle, or that they are trying to rush me out of the store from the second I walk in. I generally am not one to take things personally but today I was shocked when the store manager Stacy asked me in front of four other customers "You changed your hair." I told her I hadn't changed it. And she said "oh I didn't know it was blonde." Then started laughing and said "that's funny" while she and another customer were staring at me and laughing about my appearance. I don't believe that it is professional or proper customer service etiquette to make any comments on a customer's appearance whether it is a genuine compliment or not; it's not business relative. Felt like I didn't deserve that especially when I am simply trying to get shipping information and I ship packages through UPS regularly but felt like I was 'putting up' with the employees, management and their awful 'nose in the air' type of arrogance toward common people, especially returning customers. read more

The person working at the desk accepted my package and given me a wrong receipt...thus I have no way to know now the actual tracking number on my package. I can't help wondering if the UPS store purposefully gave me the wrong receipt and kept the package for themselves. read more

Update to the previous post: Their lowest quote for overseas shipping was over $90. I was told price difference would be only $10 if I mail at the post office. Well, eventually I went to the post office and I was able to send it only at $40. Be aware that not only you get the worst service here, but you could also pay double for international shipping. read more

I moved here from Texas over 6 years ago. Getting Christmas presents delivered back there on time and unbroken is a must for me. Each year I go in, I have had a wonderful experience. The employees are helpful, efficient, and fast. Whether they are using their materials or perhaps a box and packing peanuts that I have brought in, they go above and beyond to ensure it is packed carefully and professionally.
