I have lived in Pleasant Hill for eighteen years. The Crescent UPS store has been my go-to location for any shipping need, package delivery, and return. The staff here are kind and highly efficient, regardless of your purpose. Whether a paying patron shipping a package, or simply dropping off an Amazon refund, I always receive exceptional customer service. I once stopped at a different UPS store, as it was on my way running errands, and received far less than even the superficial "professional" customer service one would expect at any business establishment. The Crescent UPS staff have never requested I do their job, and for that I am grateful. The line may get long, but each employee will serve you with courtesy. read more

I'm extremely disappointed with the level of customer service I received. When I came in for an Amazon return, the employee continued talking with her coworker for an extended period before acknowledging me. When she finally did, she offered no greeting or assistance -- just a blank stare. After I explained I had an Amazon return, she curtly stated that my packaging was incorrect and asked if I wanted to buy packaging, without explaining what was required or offering guidance. The interaction felt dismissive and unwelcoming. Customer service should include patience and basic education, especially when customers are unfamiliar with shipping requirements. The last few times I've visited this UPS have been great! I came by on a Saturday to print a large poster for an academic conference and most places were either closed or couldn't print in the size I needed (and/or cost tons more). The UPS woman employee who is the only one who is able to print posters was able to fit me in and get it printed within just a couple of hours for a very reasonable price! At first I was worried the good price and fast service might come at the cost of the poster quality but no, the poster was just as good as my prior ones from other professional printing places. Well done! I definitely will come here more often to print my posters in the future! I also recently came to do an Amazon return. I had already boxed and taped it up as instructed to do by Amazon. Using the new QR code method, UPS is able to print the label and affix it to the box for me - so convenient! Other reviewers have complained that UPS doesn't box and tape it up for you, but I think this type of service is only available at Amazon Dropoff locations like Khol's, Staples, and Whole Foods, which usually can be selected on the Amazon app or website when initiating a return (although in some cases UPS is the only option). I did see a UPS employee do a great job helping the customer before me tape up her large box with the store's tape (the customer wasn't asked to buy their own roll of tape). Overall, I've found the UPS employees here to be efficient, friendly, and professional. I definitely look forward to the next time I need to use UPS for my shipping or Amazon returns. read more

We went to the wrong store because we didn't realize we were supposed to go to FedEx. The service at this place was excellent even though we were at the wrong store. They were very friendly and kind. Not sure why this place get a low rating. This is a small location in our downtown area. It gets busy. The folks I've worked with have been helpful and thorough, but I've seen customers be rude. Relax and wait in line for your turn. There are generally 2-3 people in there packing shipping boxes, distributing the mail, accepting packages for returns or shipping, copying, and printing. They perform many services at this location. What I love most: INEXPENSIVE, ON-CALL NOTARY SERVICES. I've been coming here since the location opened. Happy to have this service locally. read more

They already have a bad rating on yelp, but this is just shaking my head Total scam dropped off Amazon package and Adrian said I had to tape it. Then he told me we sell tape over there, even though he had a tape gun in his hand. I love supporting small local businesses, but if they can't give me 30 inches of tape, that's a joke I was able to buy tape off them for $7.62 since I was not going to carry the heavy box back home. I'm a small business owner and understand there are expenses but tape 30 inches of it to ruin a customer for life. That just doesn't make sense they have to be making some money off Amazon. This place is trash. I had a return with UPS, and I didn't seal the top, I guess a lot of people do that. And imagine a UPS store has the duck tape and just couple stripes can do it. I walked in the store and needed the help to seal the top, there was a young man told me "1 dollar and 50 cents for it". I mean at the beginning I thought I should've seal it myself so I said" it's ok". And guess what, it might need two stripes, and he told me"1 dollar 50 cents per stripe" This is ridiculous, he also said" I don't own this place", I guess he means he doesn't give a shit. I needed to bring in an Amazon item to return with the option to bring it in "no box and no label", I had the QR code ready and returned the item at this location in its original box, and they refused to tape it in order for me to return it. They have tape rolls for their shipments sitting on the counter behind them. Instead, she pointed to the corner and said they have rolls of tape for purchase which has a starting price of $9.99 for the smallest size. They had one for $9.99 and one other roll which didn't even come on something to cut it for $14.99. I purchased the cheapest one and reiterated that this is a ridiculous situation. I taped the box up in front of her and then she processed the return for me. I've returned to other locations in Walnut Creek and in Concord that have always been friendly, they take items actually in "no box". Once the clerk scanned the barcode he stated I needed to use a seal bag . I stated what the agent told me and he started reading the requirements. Would give 0 stars if possible because SERVICE was NON-EXISTANT (literally) @ the Pleasant Hill Ca UPS store (on Crescent) ... from the MANAGER no less! Went to drop off 1 Amazon return that only required my QR Code scan (had it ready on my cell) ... but the worker was already shutting down the store ... when they were still OPEN! I arrived a few minutes before the 6:30pm closing time (Thur 12.28.23) and parked right in front. Considered knocking on the door to alert the worker but figured I was safe (my cell showed 6:25pm). Grabbed my box from the passenger seat ... only to find that the UPS door was ALREADY LOCKED ... at 6:26pm (accurate time). I knocked but the lady dismissively waved me away ... who turned out to be the STORE MANAGER (wavy mid-length dirty blond hair). I tried to talk to her but she kept waving me away. I asked her to please open the door because they were still open (pointing to my cell phone). The store manager just ignored me (no other staff present) and waved me off. I was not about to leave since they were suppposed to still be open. I watched her close out the register and told her I would call to speak with the store owner about this but she kept ignoring the customer. Before leaving, I took a PHOTO of the STORE MANAGER ignoring me to prove that she was closing early (my cell time stamp showed 6:30pm by then). I worked retail for over 20 years and we never locked the door before our posted hours. We always helped customers who made it in the door before our closing time. The MANAGER at the Pleasant Hill UPS clearly has a lot to learn about customer service. Why she is a manager or why she has a customer service job is a mystery. ******************************************************** The moral of the story? AVOID the PLEASANT HILL UPS on Crescent Street at all costs! ... because the manager is terrible (dead fish rot from the head down). ******************************************************** As I was driving away, I called the WALNUT CREEK UPS on Botelho to ask if there was any location to still return my package that night. Destiny answered (even though they closed 1 minute before) and actually offered to wait until I got to Walnut Creek so that she could take my return that night. This location sucks! The first time I came I was walking in just as they opened - literally 0 customers inside. I'm struggling to carry all my Amazon returns and open the door at the same time. The manager or owner? Not sure who he is, he's older and Indian, anyway, just stared at me. As he's scanning each individual barcode, he tells me he doesn't need any of my boxes, I told him I don't need them either... he refuses to recycle them for me. Never had any other UPS not give good customer service and take my boxes for me. Second visit: after scanning the Amazon barcode he turns to his employee and says "how am I supposed to package this thing !?!!! Now, I just received an email that one of the items from the first visit was never received and I'm being charged again for that item now. Had an important county document notarized here. Very prompt, excellent, no nonsense and reliable service. I would disagree with the low ratings for this store. Having been to other similar stores of this kind in the area - I thought service was prompt, knowledgeable, attentive, and the manager and staff were not harried or rude. I find their location convenient, but they alway seem short handed and slow. Today I discovered the manager just tends to avoid helping people, which is disappointing. The line was long and slow, and the one checker was working hard, but they can only go so fast. I heard a frivolous conversation going on in the back, in the "employees only" section. After about ten minutes, an employee emerged and went outside. Someone else remained in the back and was loudly talking to themselves. Ten more minutes and I got to the front of the line. I asked the checker who else is working and she (sheepishly) responder by saying one employee who was at lunch and the manager. Twenty minutes to drop off an Amazon return, slow service, and a lethargic manager who was chilling in the back shooting the breeze with an employee on a lunch break instead of helping in the front. I don't have the heart to give this store one star. I've been a customer since 2010 and I've seen it go through a few owners since then. Staffing is sparse under this new ownership. There is often only one person available to assist, 2 at the most. I'm not sure if the new owner is trying to cut costs with understaffing, but it is now a pain to pick up packages. I just renewed my box for a year out of convenience. I've used their PO Box as my primary address for 14 years now. I'm hoping the staffing situation will improve. Four people working, all nice while greeting everyone (humans and pups) and working quickly. (The pup even got treats and pets.) We were there primarily for passport photos. The person who helped us was quick and knew all the rules, which have changed since we last renewed 10 years ago. She made sure we were good to go. While there, we also bought two envelopes for sending all of our passport renewal bits. While this is a small store, they seem to have all the essentials. All in all, we were in and out in less than 10 minutes. read more

OUTSTANDING experience! This goes out to The General Manager, Dawn, and her co-workers, who helped me the other day when I stopped in for the very first time at this location. I needed a few documents notarized and in having gone on-line, I found the website allowed patrons to make appointments for a notary -- never knew this was feasible! I was so pleased with this, given the current situation of the pandemic, and need to social distance. Thus, as I'd made an appointment time to arrive for the notary, Dawn and one of her employees, Franky, were immensely gracious, as well as the others working there. All of them had the face masks on as Dawn was making sure clients were adhering to the necessary social distancing guidelines. Furthermore, when I left there was now a line of guests waiting outside to come inside as Dawn was only allowing two-three customers in at a time. For someone with a compromised immune system, I was so grateful to see this being done, given ALL OF US need to be careful. As this was my first time at this location, I certainly will come back, due to the professionalism, cleanliness, and ease of parking, as well as that it's free (it's in the Crescent Shopping Center, and in the morning, there's ample parking immediately out front of the business; however, later in the day, Good Luck!). Again Dawn is lying. I have had the mailbox since February and many packages have been shipped there. It is June, well more than 2 months. Also she has violated my confidentially by disclosing details of who I receive packages from that I did not disclose. Another example of terrible business practices. I think anyone missing a package containing over $600 worth of product would be angry if they sent an email which wasn't acknowledged for a day and a half. Then on a trip to the store specifically to get answers was not provided any, and when asked when they would have answers was told they didn't know. When asked what I could tell my clients waiting for the products, I was was again provided no information other than I needed to speak to someone who would be in the store the next day. After not receiving a call all the next day I had to reach out to them once again and then was told they have proof I received a package that I wasn't disputing receipt of and I would have to make another trip to the store to see proof of something that wasn't in dispute. As explained in my previous review there were two orders with two different tracking numbers. There is no dispute that I received a box the size of 8X7X6. I've attached an additional picture of the products received in that box. That box is not the missing package. I was not surprised they had video, but was surprised they would go to the effort of reviewing video when adequate proof would be my signature showing I picked up the packages of the two tracking numbers provided. I have been to the store and asked to speak to Dawn but was told she wasn't there. I have attempted to resolve this without filing a police report. Frankly, the police have far more important issues to deal with. However if that is necessary to resolve this, I welcome it. You can read their numerous negative reviews related to their customer service. This is certainly not an isolated incident, so again please beware of the store. read more

I went into the store to drop off a package this evening. I prepaid for postage through my UPS MyChoice Business account, so I figured it was a simple drop off. The contents of the package are valued at $6,500, so the UPS website advised me to get a signed possession slip from the drop off location. I looked up a list of valid locations and this store topped the list. Once I got to the store, I asked for a signed change of possession, a woman representing herself as the owner of the store, said she refused to provide that. I asked why, she said they don't do that, never have, never will, so they refused to take the package instead sending me away to the local hub in Concord. The hub was already closed for the day so now my time sensitive package is delayed a day due to this stores inability to do the core function of a shipping company, and handle packages. They offered no course of action other than refusing service for something the UPS MyChoice website claims they do. To me, this is terrible customer service, a terrible experience, and as for me and my business, I won't be using this store again, I advise everyone else to do the same. This store will not provide tape to help close your packages before shipping. Although they have plenty of tape on their counter they will tell you you need to pay almost $7 to purchase your own tape. This is different from any other UPS location I've been to in the area, pretty poor customer service too. If you can make the drive to the UPS on Treat I'd highly recommend that location- always so helpful and excellent level of customer service, not to mention they'll help you make sure your packages are all set and ready to be shipped. read more

I needed to avail of notary services, passport photos and mailing services in one visit. I'm usually skeptical about completing so many activities in a short span of time. So I take a good 1-2 hours time in hand to get done with such "projects". I was pleasantly surprised at how efficient Priyanka, the UPS associate at the store was! She not only completed two notary signatures, she took the passport photos, helped stick them to the form, and mail the package too. She gave me helpful tips to ensure a smooth delivery (I needed to scribble something specific on the label for correct delivery) and even lent me a sharpie for my scribble to stand out. All this was done in less than half an hour! I'm impressed at this store's efficiency. The PH downtown UPS has become my new go-to place for office-related services. Keep it up, UPS! read more
