I was there today Monday July 27th. I got there right before 8am and she was already doing her work. It was Nikki! She greeted me so kind and helped me what I needed to do to send my package. We talked afterwards and at the same time helped another customer scanned and gave him his receipt. I usually go to the UPS in Pinole but the lady who works there has been too rude. I was here before and whoever helped me was very nice so that's why I decided to come to this one to mail my package. Thank you for the good service today Nikki. Arsh Gill, the notary demanded that I physically sign the identification document in front of her even though I appeared personally, with photo ID -- US Passport -- and the identification document did not require that I physically sign in front of the notary. She expected me to return with a new unsigned document. So I verified the criteria and here's what I found. Question: do I always have to sign in front of the Notary in California? Answer: No, you do not always have to sign in front of the notary in California. Whether you must sign in their presence depends strictly on the type of notarial act required by the document's certificate.The rules vary by document: Acknowledgment: For this most common type, you do not need to sign in front of the notary. You can sign the document beforehand, bring it to the notary, and verbally confirm (acknowledge) that you signed it of your own free will. Jurat: If the certificate requires a jurat (which involves an oath or affirmation that the statements in the document are true), you must sign it in the physical presence of the notary. Personal Appearance: Regardless of the type of signature, California law strictly requires the signer to appear in person in front of the notary. Remote Online Notarization (RON) is not permitted. Wow, this has to be the worst UPS I've ever been to! People here are never helpful. The only reason I come here is because it's the closest UPS to where I live. Today I came to drop off a package forgetting to print the pre-paid return label. I was hoping the woman manning the desk could help me print it because I was the only customer there. But she told me to use the computer to print it. I said sure. Then she informed me that it'd be over $3 to print one page. I was shocked because I've printed stuff at FedEx before. It costs less than 50 cents. I shook my head and walked away. She didn't even care. I'm completely speechless about the level of customer service at this store. If they hate their job so much, why are they even here in business?! read more

Great experience today at this UPS store. The agent couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. I was in and out in a minute or two. I had some difficulty finding it tucked away in a small strip in the Watergate Shopping Center, but the Watergate Market is highly visible and UPS is in a building just to the right (east). The load of one-star Yelp reviews that are full of hate date back to 2022 and before, all the way 2016. It's probably time for Yelp to clear some of those out. read more

I usually only go to UPS stores to drop off Amazon returns. These are very quick "in and out" transactions. UPS just has to scan the barcode I show them, take the item and give me a receipt. Unfortunately, things are only this easy when no other customers are at this store. For this reason, I try to only go to this UPS store when I either know I have time to wait around or during off peak times (9-10am on a weekday). I've found that even when more than one person is working at this store, they all only help the same one customer at a time regardless of whether there is a long line etc. I've actually been in line here waiting while multiple employees chit chat with a single customer instead of helping the next person, i suppose that is nice if you're the customer they're chatting with but I wish they were more efficient. Because the job gets done eventually and they've never been rude, giving 3 stars. read more
