My 96 year old father used to use this UPS store to make occasional copies at 10 cents per page. Under new ownership the charge is now 25 cents per page. But this week when h needed 5 pages copied, they charged him $3.75. When he asks why they told him "TARIFFS." Making this review to warn any person that this establishment is dishonest and probably discriminatory against the elderly. Ask for quotes upfront or frequent an honest store. read more

Wow the manager here was rude... as I walked in I'm I heard him in the back room arguing on his cell phone with someone. Couple minutes passed and he acknowledged me in a very rude manner. Me not having too much experience returning items to a UPS I told him I am returning but my bag the item came in was ripped and asked him politely if he can duct tape the bag closed. His response was "Duct tape? We don't do that here. Why would you ask that?!" Like I offended him badly when in reality was asking a simple question. He then says "We can tape it not duct tape it!" I don't understand why he sounded so offended but will not be coming back to location due to horrible customer service. read more

This place is the size of the closet and the "parking lot" is a little rectangle of gravel. I went here to try to refuse a package that I hadn't opened and the young attendant was rude and completely unhelpful. He said there was nothing he or anyone else could do, even if I went to a different store. So I went to a different store and they helped me successfully send the package back. read more

Had only used this location for drop-off of pre-paid shipping items for our online business and they were always super helpful and great to deal with. This weekend I decided to try the print services and I was not disappointed! I ordered two-yard signs late on Friday and they were ready for me on Monday. They are absolutely perfect! I've been introduced to the UPS store for my Amazon returns. I'm a forever customer as when I recently pulled up in the parking lot, grabbed my VERY heavy return item out of my car, the UPS employee (perhaps manager) who worked in the store saw me and without hesitation, lifted the package out of my hands and escorted me into the store. Yesterday I had to send my AT&T U-Verse equipment back, and I was in the area. I was a little nervous going in here as the reviews are terrible. I think this location might have a new owner, or at least the guy got trained on customer service because this was a really good experience. I'm only writing this because I feel like the guy might have just bought the store and is going to get killed on reviews. I came in and noticed the gravel parking lot- there's a sign in the store that says that lot is owned by the City of Downers Grove, and if you want to park in their lot that is paved, it's on the other side of the building. The guy I met was definitely the owner as he said he owned a few other stores and was looking for good internet service. He was definitely polite, friendly, and got me out the door fast. If you gave this place a bad review, I'd suggest trying again- it's either new ownership or the guy did a 180 in personality. I'd come back here- he was nicer than the people in the UPS store by my house. read more

I went to this store and asked how much it would cost to send my package to Canada. The owner gave me a price of $36. I came back later the same day and he charged me $50. He was unable to explain why. He said that he cannot give an accurate price until the shipment has been "processed" i.e. paid for. I find this hard to believe. I asked him why he didn't warn me the quote was not reliable. He didn't have an answer. I suggested when giving estimates to Canada in the future he'd better tell customers that the estimate may not be accurate. He took that as a threat, got upset with me, and told me I was being rude and using "inappropriate" words. (The word "better" was inappropriate according to him.) I am confused about why I had such a bad experience. In short, be prepared to spend 50% more than this place quotes you when sending a package to Canada. read more

I wanted to give a shoutout to a local business downers grove can be proud of; I'm stunned by the negative reviews. I work as a drop-shipper which means I ship heaps of packages locally and internationally. I have experienced shipping nightmares, but never here. Frankly I've seen the crew at this particular ups location be exceedingly patient and polite with very rude unrealistic customers. I used to go to this UPS store, but no more . There is a new young girl there , I guess she was new because I used to go there frequently, and It was the first time I saw her . I didn't get her name but she was one of the rudest person that I encountered in the costumer service field . I went there with my little girl , and while I was asking her a question about the time frame and price of what I was sending , this young lady snap and said to me in a very rude voice : ' if you let me talk I can explain it to you ' . Loud enough for everyone that was in the store to hear it , including my little girl . Right after she made a face , like a condescending one . Super disrespectful. I should had left there , right away . I was very uncomfortable. I send the mail that she already processed but my other mail I did not . I went to my local USPS office . I love the service at this location. It's convenient for me because it's right off Ogden ave and close to a Walgreens and CVS - so I can often knock out a couple of errands on the same trip. I also really like the owner (Jackie) and his staff. Very friendly and professional. Jackie also has a savvy business mind and has even given me some good business ideas and contacts. read more

I left with the feeling that they were doing me a favor by sending a package. 2 people behind the counter when I came in and neither looked up at me when I spoke to them. I guess whatever was on the computer was more interesting. I had a pre paid label and no box for my electronic item. I felt the price of $10 was pretty high for a small box and I'm guessing was a higher cost because they added shipping peanuts and taped it shut - again the actual shipping was already paid. What a wonderfully horrible experience. I just lost 15 minutes of my life that I will never get back. Thank you. I've never had to answer so many questions or needed so much useless information to try to mail a package at 400% more then the postal service. It is also a USPS partner store but they sure do charge a heck of a handling fee. I think I might have signed over my first born with the 3 forms I had to sign and initial and make sure to initial. Otherwise you get a real nice lecture about it. Also have your ID ready to use your debt card and then hand over your debit card to have it verified by the most "charming" guy in the world. Save your self a headache and your sanity and just go to the post office. Please close do us all a favor. read more

They don't open on time and even after they are open they don't always answer the phone. You need to call multiple times to get someone to pick up. I drove by on a Friday at 6:30 to mail something and they were closed when their sign said they close at 7pm. As another reviewer said it's difficult to find driving down on Ogden, it's a run down building and the employees and owner are not cut out for working in the service sector. You have to treat your customers with respect and be polite, not talk down to them when all they've been is nice. Don't believe me? Go ahead and give them a call and see how you are treated. Please don't take my word for it, give them a call or walk into the store and see how it goes. I didn't have a good experience here when I went in 2wks ago. Do Not Go To this location. The owner is disrespectful, condescending and NOT helpful. Made me leave the store in 10degree weather to place my package into a box I purchased from them. I then asked for a piece of tape and the girl working there was happy to provide it until the owner walked up and told me I can purchase a roll of tape. Worst experience at a UPS or Fedex store. This business will fail as it should with an owner like this. Zero customer service skills and I will be broadcasting this incompetence and rude treatment to my neighborhood. Never had a bad experience in the 5+ years I've gone to this location. On average I go once a month. The store is well staffed I've never had to wait long even when there are plenty of customers before me. The owner is usually there and he is helpful and knowledgeable. I have no complaints and I'm happy to use this UPS store as it is close quick and I've never had a problem. The parking lot is gravel but doesn't bother me. read more

I've been a customer here for several years. The staff are always friendly, and they even helped coordinate their truck delivery with me so that the driver and I could transfer a bulky shipment to my car. Although the store is a bit small, it provides all the service I need. Parking is available on both sides of the building, and I like being able to drop off packages before/after hours. read more

The reviews say it all here. I had many of the same impressions or experiences. I called in advance to have some documents notarized. When I got the UPS store, the notary was completely unaccomodating. I needed a witness in addition to the notary and asked if his associate could do it. After saying that I could ask his co-worker to be the witness to my signature, he changed his mind and said that the employee could not do it because he had to continue doing his regular job. There was not one customer in the place besides me. He was completely rude and obnoxious. The store is messy and the parking lot a gravel pit. read more

Went this store on two separate occasions during the busy holiday rush. Hours posted on the door as well as the website state 8:30 am as opening time. Outside the unopened store at 8:45 and again at 8:50. Very disappointed and unprofessional. When I called on one occasion after 9:00 am and finally reached someone, I asked are yo open now, and the lady said yes and hung up on me ! Awful experience all around and a waste of my time. The 2 guys that were working were very rude, arrogant, and asked me personal questions I was not comfortable answering! They tried to have me pay $45 to ship a package and told me that the post office would not ship to that location so I had to use UPS. I dropped off my custom built desktop computer off to ship. The staff member working mumbled the whole time while going through the charges for the packaging and shipping plus the $900 worth of insurance I put on it. Not a good sign. Sure enough, despite the solid looking packaging and lack of any damage to the box, my computer would not function any more when I received it at my apartment despite being in perfect working order when I shipped it. No problem i thought due to the insurance and the Pack and Ship guarantee that the store had. Not. UPS claims threw me around for two weeks and when I contacted the store they were condescending and unhelpful. I'm now out a few hundred dollars in damages and resentful of the terrible customer service I received from UPS. read more

Do NOT use this store. Used them to send an important business package for 2 day arrival. Did not arrive in 2 days. Called the store, and the clerk took down my number for the owner to call me. No return call. Called back and got the owner -- he said "I left you a message." (ummm, no). Then he said UPS would be refunding my money. After 3 weeks of no refund, I called the store. The clerk said she's have the owner call me back. No return call. Called back and got the owner. Here's what he said (and this is not a joke) ..."There must have been bad weather, so that's an Act of God" (there was no bad weather in either location) ... "you must have received a notification from UPS" (no I did not) ... and here's the best one -- "No one can guarantee that I will call anyone back."
