AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! I dropped off a box of books to ship to myself. The books were loose in a box I provided. I asked, "Will you please add packing material so these don't bounce around?" "Yes, yes, we will pack." Today, the box arrived. There was no packing material added. Instead, the contents bounced around from Chicago to Seattle, damaging all the contents. They did not even tape the box properly. They put one strip of tape along the top and bottom of the box. They added no tape along the short sides or reinforced by adding a strip across the middle. When the box arrived here, it was barely holding together, with the tape torn down to about 2" holding out of a 24" length. I'm "lucky" the contents weren't spilled and destroyed along the way. DO NOT SHIP FROM THIS UPS STORE! They do not know how to pack boxes. They don't even know the basics of stuffing a box with packing materials or how to tape a box closed. read more

Be aware of Dominic, he talks down to women including his coworkers in front of customers. He is rude and condescending. He did not want to help me and pouted in the back. Today I went into return about 7 items from Amazon. I printed a receipt for one of the items that I had and when I got there the clerk said I didn't need the print out. Ok I lost the ink - oh well. Then she comes to the last item and says she's not sure why it's not working and the manager - Dominic came over and condescending says it's Amazon Fresh, like we are supposed to know what that means. He doesn't explain and the female helping me had to apologize for being new. He didn't want to help either of us. The owner comes out and they said that I could cancel the return and re-process it so I canceled the return and selected no label needed (both clerks watched me and I have a screenshot of the option) and I processed the return again and a label popped up so I asked them if I could email the label & asked them to print it as a courtesy and they said no that it would be 150+ tax and so I asked them if there is a customer service number and the Amazon customer service number that they gave me - took me in circles and Dominic kept saying I was ridiculous and that I had to move while I was trying to talk to customer service. So I said that I would pay for the Label even though other UPS stores will print it for free so apparently the UPS store on Roosevelt Road in Lombard really needs my three dollars that badly for a printed sheet of paper and doesn't care about their customers and would rather have me go back to my house print the label for free and then drive all the way back to the UPS store instead of doing a courtesy for their customer. This interaction took my entire 1 hour break and I didn't get to walk my dog before going to my second job. Thank you for doing everything but helping me!! I hope your owner feels good about how she treats her staff and customers. The fish rots from the head down. read more

The employees at this store on 3-12-2022 (two women); had such nasty attitudes. It wasn't just me that they had shitty attitudes with either. They didn't make you feel welcome in the store at all . Never been treated so rudely by a service worker. Came in with some package to drop. Older gentleman was there overwhelmed with boxes, looked completely unorganized and he was in a mood. No one in line, I told him I needed to drop off he said leave them there, I asked for a receipt and he told me NO, unless you want to wait until I clear the room of packages first. This UPS Store is just great. I've been here dozens of times and they always get me in and out quick. I'm normally an easy customer, just dropping off a prepaid package, but sometimes I'm a real pain in the ass for them. Doesn't matter - everyone I've ever dealt with there (especially the manager guy) has been friendly and knowledgeable and, most important, super speedy. Rock on, Lombard UPS Store! My one complaint: it can be hard to find a parking space, but that's undoubtedly due to the other tenants in the shopping center. read more

Disappointing service! Been here few times since it's closed to my home. First time, I thought I was at the wrong time wrong place. Second, dropped off a prepaid package, he was not friendly, it was like I am bothering him. Recently went back and dropped off a small prepaid package. He threw it on the counter and used angrily tone, "you done" I asked if I could get a receipt. He signed and went over to the inside counter after printed he put it on the counter. I now could clearly said that everyone who works here are racism. If you are not Caucasian, go somewhere else! Your are obviously not welcome here! No greeting! Say it to everyone, " hi, or hello" not only specific Caucasians! 11/06/17, I had two pre-paid return packages, I put them down at the counter and that rude white man just glanced at me and says to me, " you have a question." Have to give props to this location. They've always been good with me just dropping off packages, sealed or not, with a prepaid shipping tag. I've been to other nearby UPS locations that will charge you $6 for a roll of tape to seal your box, then make you wait while they weigh the package, and just generally provide poor service. This location, while further from my house than the other UPS location, is my go-to spot. read more

I've been here a handful of times to drop off packages to be sent back to Amazon. As such, the postage is paid, and I only need receipts. The guy(s) behind the counter are always pretty friendly - I'm always greeted when I arrive, called "Miss," and if I have to wait for a receipt, another employee will come out to ring my receipt through. I've never waited more than a few (literally - like, TWO) minutes. They're fast, courteous, and efficient! read more

This place will scam you. I bought a 18 x 12 x 12 box for a 9.5 pound bag of items. He charged the "billable" weight as 20 pounds. Also, the dimensions that he put in was 19x13x13. He told me that the inside dimension of the box was the first, the seconds was the outside. .... huh? This cardboard box is one inch thick? I say ney ney. The total charge came to $37. I mailed a bigger, heavier box a couple of days ago at a different UPS Store and the total cost was just over 30 dollars. Plus, when I came in the store, he was very insisted on packing the box. Sorry, I will not pay extra to drop a bag into a box. Please be aware that you may be nickel and dimed at this location. read more

This place is not the greatest to say the least. The short guy, Bob, I believe is his name, is rude to customers as well to his employees. I went in to ship something and he immediately passed me off to another employee that was working on some other boxes telling him to "Stop doing that, you have a customer." As he went into the back and I heard a YouTube video playing. When the transaction was done, I heard the short guy in back lay into the employee about "Dropping everything for the customer" when he himself wouldn't give me the time of day. I've also heard such thing come from their back room from some other, taller, old man with terms as "Jihad Money", "The customers are idiots, you tell them what to do", as well as the shorter one using the N-Word. I am not using this place any more because of the lack of kindness to both customers and their employees. I'm surprised they have any employees at all. read more

I don't always ship, but when I do...I ship UPS. HA That's a lie, I ship A LOT! I prefer UPS drive up boxes for envelopes, but when you forget to call UPS to pick up a few boxes, this spot is ideal. They're open until 6 on the weekdays and that's perfect for me. Plus it's on the way home. So convenient. I'm pretty familiar with UPS shipping but I think it's nice when the employees ask if I need help with anything. From my experience I have found UPS Ground to be one of the easiest most inexpensive way to ship packages and letters. I'm glad this little store is around. I mostly came to this location out of convenience as It's close to both home and work. This made it tolerable even though the owner seems annoyed any time anyone walks through his door. Today was the last straw though. I had a package I would not be home to sign for so the friendly folks at the UPS facility in Addison told me they would route it to the local UPS access point which happened to be this store. I later get a notification saying delivery attempted but was refused and is being returned to sender. Surely this was a mistake? So I call UPS and they informed me the owner of the store had indeed refused my shipment. Each store is a franchise and the owners can run them as they see fit. When I called the store he said he doesn't receive packages for people who don't have a monthly box there and then hung up. Do whatever you can to avoid this place. I visited this store to ship a blanket that I had forgotten to give as a present. It was big and bulky and had used whatever box I had that would fit it. The person assisting me was not only knowledgeable but also helpful. After he gave me the price of shipping using my box, which was much too expensive, he offered to give me a box that was much smaller and much cheaper. He saved me about $30 with just a little bit of consideration. Use this store and buy local-they are honest and use the old-school customer service!! read more

You'll notice in the other reviews that there is a common theme among the owner or employees of this business being less than kind and less forthcoming in wanting to make an effort to appease/help their customers who provide them business on a daily basis. I can only reiterate the same. If the employees won't take the time, or have the patience, to help you when issues arise, issues that DIRECTLY relate to the way they handle packages, packages that are lost due to their negligence, and then, don't want to bother to help or look for the package to confirm upon your concerns, than they don't deserve your business. For the most part, it's a fairly smooth process, drop off the package with prepaid tracking, get a receipt (it will be like pulling teeth, but, if you request it, they will act like it's a case of over-exertion), and you track your package to confirm it's final delivery and all is good. BUT, if anything goes wrong, you will NEVER get support from this location. EVER. read more

If you want to be treated with contempt, come to this UPS Store. This was my second and last time coming here. Both visits were to return an Amazon order. The first time, the customer service person was resistant and rude, so unwarranted. Took me by surprise. The interaction was so uncomfortable I asked for the manager of which the response was "I am the manager". Yikes. I just took my things and left. This last visit on Jan 7 I had the displeasure of attempting to converse with Dominick. How do I describe his contempt? Well, just that. Don't think he was having a bad day. His contempt, resistance, not answering questions, pointing instead of speaking, not once looking at me - the list goes on, this is just who he is I suppose. Creepy jerk behavior comes to mind. What a horrible experience. In both instances, I was pointed to the computer and told 'print your label'. I asked for direction. One word answers if that, never looking up. Somehow I figured out with the help of other customers, how to print the label. And then they would not accept the printed label. The worst part is, the directions from Amazon were that I didn't even need a label. Just drop it off. What a headache and nasty place. I will say that the younger man working, John, was respectful. Every other UPS store I have ever returned an Amazon order, the store prints the label. I went there to drop of amazon returns, and the store just closed but Nate still helped me. He went above and beyond to take care of my 4 returns, including mind you, packed two of them himself. I thought, what a great service. I asked him if he owned the UPS store but he said no. George, you are lucky to have such a great team member like Nate. I just came from one of my favs, The UPS Store, here in town. Whether it's a drop off, a send off, or a pick up supply day they have never let me down and they are always cheerful and friendly. Lately, I've been doing a lot of packing and when they were out of supplies, the manager unloaded 2 boxes of fresh inventory for me, on the spot. Then he carried everything out to my SUV for me.
