Whenever I have to send important packages or documents overseas, I'm sure there are some visible signs of stress on my face because without direct visualization, the unknown questions start immediately. Will it arrive on time? Is it being handled with the necessary care? Could it get lost in transit? Honestly it would be nice to see them load it on the truck at the drop off location, I'm just saying. Luckily, the team at this particular UPS Store was highly efficient and that started things off well. I especially appreciated that Mr. Tu packed my items using a custom-tailored box he cut himself. He added bubble wrap, and packing peanuts for $10 (this is different from their fragile packing service which I did not receive) and assisted the nice trainee helping me with some logistics. Due to high fuel costs, shipping was very expensive but we are all in the same--hopefully not sinking--boat with that. Seriously though, these guys aim for a hassle-free shipping experience. If it's important enough to ship with care, I'd definitely recommend this store. read more

To be honest, I had some initial reservations about shipping my Great Grandmother's Victorian china cross country. But Tu did an excellent job and then some. According to my nephew, not only was everything bubble wrapped and double boxed, but styrofoam dividers also prevented movement and breakage. Really I couldn't have asked for more. And Tu was so easy to work with... even when I had to postpone the shipping date due to the recipient's travel plans. So if you have something fragile to ship, UPS at Porter Square is the way to go. read more

This review strictly concerns Tu Do at Store 1520. I'd like to highly praise this gentleman because he advocated for me when I needed him most. My package was lost and it was extremely important to both myself and the receiving party that it be delivered within a certain time frame-it's why I purchased the soonest delivery option. I called Tu and he was able to initiate an investigation and have it recovered in a timely manner--and then even have it delivered the very next day. While it was past the original promise date/time, it was not too late before the absolute and ultimate deadline. He queued my refund promptly and I am so grateful he was there for me every step of the way, from when I first walked into the store down to resolving an issue and helping me out to the very end. read more

08/09/2024 - 2nd Review (NOW REPORTING TO THE ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE) Updating my review as of current date, and yet another encounter with the same person, Sajid/Sajeed Bhatti, who lacks customer service etiquette for those who patronage the 1770 Mass Ave location near Porter Sq in Cambridge, MA. On the UPS website, it states a person can pick up your package for you as long as they provide your ID along with theirs. I recently had a fall injury and was unable to pick up my package, so I sent my daughter to pick up my package, and yet again, he was rude, arrogant, and disrespectful. He tossed my package and my ID at my daughter to cause a scene while belittling her. This is a regular occurrence I have read with other reviews that his behavior towards customers continues. No one should have to deal with this kind of disrespect at a UPS store location. These issues from all reviews I've seen this has been continuing for 10+ years. Now we're taking it to the Attorney General. No one should be scolded like a child, be disrespected, or treat people like they're the bottom of your shoe. 12/20/2018 - 1st Review Though the rest of the staff is friendly and attentive, I have come to find out over the 10 years living in the area (and born and raised in Cambridge) that Sajid/Sajeed Bhatti is arrogant, rude, condenscending, and lacks customer service etiquette. In showing proper identification and tracking numbers to pick up Christmas packages, he refuses to release the packages after speaking with UPS for over an hour and providing the required ID. I have been to many UPS stores around the Massachusetts area but this store gave me the worst experience. Long story short, I had to mail a package and ensure that it arrives asap. So I chose UPS 2nd Day Air and paid a pretty steep shipping fee for that. I printed the shipping label and attached it to the package and rushed to this store since it was on my way during my errands. I came in at around 2PM-ish and gave them the package and asked them when the package would arrive exactly. I did check my UPS tracking online and it said by 7PM tomorrow but wanted to double-check in person. To my surprise, the manager Sajid Bhatti told me that since I bought this shipping label from UPS.com instead of buying it from his store directly, they did not have any guarantee for when it would arrive. I must call UPS customer service to find out when it would arrive?! Then I asked so what kind of service would guarantee its prompt arrival, say, tomorrow. He said then I need to use the UPS Next Day Air. When I asked him so what is the price difference between the UPS 2nd Day Air and the Next Day Air and that I was happy to pay for the upgrade, he dared to tell me that "oh the Next Day Air is very very expensive for you" without offering any additional information. Excuse me?! This is a standing-alone UPS store and to a customer, you guys represent UPS. However, I found my interaction to be very unprofessional and the experience rather uncomfortable. First, you tried to separate yourself from UPS as an entity simply because I did not purchase shipping directly from you. Then you refused to provide additional information when I, the customer, asked and was willing to pay more on the spot. The store was not busy at all when this happened and there were two additional staff members along with Sajid and one other customer. UPS, you need to look into how your store managers communicate to customers. And yes, I will never ever come back to this store again! read more

Excellent service! I needed to ship a gift out for 2 day delivery and they handled it with ease. Nothing but a pleasant and efficient and experience. I highly recommend this location. Wanted to charge two dollars for a piece of tape, he also refused to print out my prepaid shipping label. "You can report me if you want" Never have I been asked to buy a piece of tape to simply seal a box. Called corporate to complain. Will be seeking area and or regional manager involved regarding the level of customer service. Hopefully UPS as a company still cares about customer service and will address this. read more

I have been here before with good results but today I brought in an Amazon return package. I had misread the instructions and hadn't taped the box shut. The person at the counter was very rude, started reprimanding me before I had even had time to understand the error, and tried to get me to read the instructions out loud because he wanted to prove to me that I had made a mistake. Belittling the customer is not a good customer service strategy. I will not use this business again. read more

They did an incredible packaging job. I had to ship some fairly valuable art -- a framed picture with glass front and a plaster bas-relief cast. I didn't watch them do it, but when the package arrived, I was hugely impressed. The shippers could have thrown the package on the floor (and they probably did!) and the art would be intact. The owner is a bit gruff, but it is the gruffness of someone who does excellent work and doesn't suffer fools lightly. His work is excellent, and I admire that. read more

Sajid was extremely rude to me when I came in 2 minutes before closing (something I always try to avoid doing, but in this case had no choice) to send off a package. The store closed at 7pm- I was done with my transaction and out the door by 7:03p and he was extremely rude for the entire transaction. I am a health care provider who used to work at a walk in clinic where multiple people would walk in minutes before closing, asking to be evaluated and treated, often resulting in me staying 2 hours past closing, which I would never complain about as that would be terrible customer service. Apparently Sajid retains the right to be rude if asked to take 3 minutes over to help a customer who arrived before closing. The folks at the nearby Somerville UPS on Somerville Ave (especially the men who work there) are always helpful and courteous- I would recommend that location instead. read more

Made a quick stop to drop off a couple prepaid returns today. I was pleasantly surprised by the hours and commented on them to the man who was helping me. He said that not only are they open until 7, but he would even keep the doors open a couple minutes extra if I gave him a call ahead of time. "Two extra minutes won't kill me," he said with a smile. What an amazing attitude! He was all around friendly, helpful and a refreshing break from typical customer service reps who hate their jobs and spread their misery. I feel for him though because as I was walking out, another customer was giving him a hard time about the $1 packing tape fee. Perhaps it's an unreasonable charge? I don't ship things enough to really know. Either way, it seems to be the owner's policy and since this review is based on the man who helped me today, I'm giving 5 stars! read more

I stood for 5mn while the supervisor had his back to me. Another customer walked in and an employee came from the back, buttoning up his shirt. The employee ignored me and helped the other customer who had just walked in. Several costumers walked in at this point and I had to jump in to say I have been waiting a while. When the supervisor finally did his job to take care of my package I thanked him and asked if I needed to do anything further or if I could leave. He answered with an attitude that I could say thank you. Perhaps if he paid attention to his customers and what his employees are doing he'd have a little humility and understand how poorly his service was. In any case, like it or not, here is my feedback. I had super unpleasant experience at this ups, because of the rude manger Sakid. I came here for a finger print appointment, I brought two forms of ID like I was supposed to. He called the FBI service and they required a form of address which I showed on my phone from my banking statement. While he was on the phone, he constantly misspoken the information such as I brought wrong form of ID or my ID doesn't match, I was explaining on the side try to correct him because I brought the right form or two ID which are my passport and green card. He said shut up to me multiple times then rudely give me the phone tell me to talk to the customer service. The FBI staff didn't understand what Sajid said and finally understand my issue, she said my bank statement which has my form of address is good enough so she hanged the phone. SAjid yelled at me again and called the customer service repeated the previous process again, another 20 mins wasted and forced me to print my statement when the FBI didn't even require, he also didn't tell me the computer would charge your use time. So he charged 2 dollars for printing 2 piece of paper then he didn't even need the paper and asked me to throw away in the end?? This entire time what can be done in less than 5 mins he took 30 mins because he was constantly helping others which is fine, so I was on my phone getting info he asked me then he rudely said "hey can you get out off your phone for 2 mins" mind you this entire time he wasn't pay attention to me, so I responded to him please stopping being so rude. And he said I don't know what's wrong with you, you are so negative please don't come here next time. Honestly I never had this negative experience in my life, I would not return this UPS again, I read previous review as well, and it's not hard to notice he is rude to people of color, super racist. read more

It takes an incredibly petty man to charge $1 for a single piece of shipping tape to repair a partially unclosed package, at a shipping store. Plus, the way the owner/operator defends his policy with a smile and pleasant tone of voice is, well...disturbing. A very nice UPS store with helpful customer service. For anyone complaining about the cost and comparing to USPS, you could easily research your options online ahead of time... I believe no package ships for under $12 or something silly like that, but in fairness when I brought in several different pieces to ship, they told me up front "this one will be cheaper to ship via USPS, this one cheaper here"... So if you are wondering whether to go USPS or UPS, and have equal confidence in both getting your package there in 1 piece, on time, consider the size/weight before heading to the store. read more

I had an extremely unpleasant encounter at this store. The manager, Sajid, was incredibly condescending, rude and petty. I came in this store (which was completely empty) for the first (and only!) time to ship a small return package. I brought the package and the printed label with me since I didn't have tape. I asked the manager if he could tape the small box shut and attach the label for me, as all other UPS stores that I've ever visited do, and he immediately became angry and told me that I need to read instructions and learn how to follow them. I had no idea what he was talking about, as there were no instructions anywhere, and I asked again if that's something he'd be able do. He raised his voice even more and told me that I could buy tape from him for an outrageous price and do it myself. I left, went to the Medford store, and they took care of my package in about 10 seconds. No point in using this store when there are many other locations within a few miles with actual customer service. read more

The store is well organized, and a few minutes' walk away from Porter Square T station. It is a great place to pick up packages that require signature for those (myself included) that cannot stay at home to wait for the packages (dear UPS, maybe you can consider weekend delivery for a fee?). read more

I love the convenience of this store if I just need to drop off, if the merchant is paying for return shipping and/or charges me a flat rate. However, when I take my own packages to be shipped I sense there is price inflation. A 6 lb. parcel, addressed and shipped in my own box, standard ground between Boston and St. Louis: $34?! Even UPS online quote has it listed at $16. Buyer beware. read more

Very pleasant and professional! Last December I shipped a package to Canada through this store. They quoted a price for delivery and I paid and went on my way. When the package arrived at its destination, the recipients were asked to pay for customs charges. Since the package was a gift to my in-laws, I was a bit mortified that they had to pay for a gift. When I complained to the Davis Square UPS Store to they 1) acknowledged that they were unaware that there would be customs charges, 2) researched what they should have done to ensure that the recipients were not charged anything, 3) wrote an apology letter to me and 4) reimbursed the customs charges. All of this happened within 24 hours of my initial complaint. Because it was an honest mistake and they were sincere and professional in their response and all other aspects of their service are top-notch, I will continue to be a customer of this UPS Store. read more

Printing at this store is ridiculously expensive. The manager charges $0.6 per page printed in black and white and additionally $0.5 per minute for using the computer. In comparison, most other places charge no more than $0.2 per page for black and white printing. read more

I was dreading having to deal with getting documents printed, notarized, and overnighted while I was on vacation. UPS was the absolute last place I wanted to be spending my time, but Sajid made the experience fun (yes, truly!) and went out of his way to help me get everything done as efficiently and painlessly as possible. 1984 (Orwell, not Van Halen)--some of us like to pretend that these "Big Brother" horror stories don't ring true today. Then, we go to ship a package by UPS and think again. My low rating is more a comment on UPS practices than this store in particular. They were actually nice and reasonably competent here, albeit a bit slow, but that may be due to all the information gathering. I went to UPS because I needed to return some shoes to Shoebuy.com (awesome, by the way) that already had a label (free return shipping!) and decided to also take the birthday gift I needed to ship to my pal in FL. Much to my horror, they proceeded to ask for my name, rank, and serial number in order to ship the package. I even questioned why they needed this info, and they didn't really have a good answer other than it was "required". I think this now turned me into "bitchy, difficult customer", which certainly was not my intention. They then wanted to know what was in the package. Frankly, that's none of your business, and really, the good old USPS only ever wants to know if there are liquids or hazardous materials inside. Why do you folks need all this info, particularly if I have no intention of buying insurance for the package? Then, pretty light package costs over $10 to ship, and it won't get there until next Thursday. Again, I'm pretty sure USPS can get it there faster, for less cash, and not require my entire background history in order to ship it. I suppose UPS is good for bulky, heavy, or fragile stuff, but for routine things, I'll be sticking with my local post office! I had a terrible experience at this store this morning. An hour before arriving to ship some packages, I submitted an online printing order. Upon arriving at the store, I inquired about the status of my order and was informed that it had not yet been processed...had I checked the online status which stated the time at which my order would be complete? I answered that I had, but had not seen an estimated completion time (the order status just said "new"). The employee went on to look up my order and informed me that the estimated time was 6 hours from now (I still don't know where he obtained this information, because as a user I was not able to access it), and that in order to not inconvenience the store's employees in the future I would need to respect that deadline. As I type this out, this exchange sounds rational, and I agree with his sentiment (that I shouldn't expect things to be ready prior to the stated deadline), but the way this was conveyed was completely disrespectful. I hadn't been rude or demanding, yet he treated me as though my inquiry was entirely unreasonable. He continued to lambaste me in this manner for close to a minute...repeatedly stating that by showing up prior to the deadline I was majorly inconveniencing the workers. Meanwhile, there was NOBODY else in the store and when I walked in both employees were just standing around not doing anything! Moreover, there were very few people out and about that morning (it was the morning after an enormous snow storm) and it didn't appear as though the store would be getting much business that day...so even had I arrived a few hours later to inquire about my printing job, I would bet that the chance of me actually "inconveniencing" the workers would have been slim to none. And furthermore, his response might have been appropriate had I requested a large, complicated printing job, but in reality it was just 9 sheets of shipping labels on 8.5 x 11" paper in black and white ink, and in total it probably took less than 30 seconds to complete. Finally, after reprimanding me a bit longer, he printed out my labels and handed them to me. A few minutes later--after I had affixed my printed shipping labels to my packages--my boyfriend helped me carry my boxes over to the counter to check out. I had 7 boxes, and there was very little counter space...maybe 6" of clear space not occupied by clutter of some sort. Upon setting down a few of the boxes atop the counter (and unavoidably on top of some loosely stacked papers which occupied a majority of the counter space), the employee that was assisting us (note: this was a different employee from the one that chastised me earlier about printing) sneered at my boyfriend and said, "I don't know if you noticed, but there are some papers there." This man had witnessed the transfer of the packages from floor to counter and was fully aware of the inconvenience that his messy papers presented. I have never encountered such unprofessional and impertinent behavior as a customer, and I will NEVER be returning to this store again. If you are someone who values being treated fairly and respectfully, I advise you not to give this store your business either. read more

I never thought I'd want to leave such a glowing for a UPS store, but this particular location is great. I'm in the midst of a big cross-country move, and I called this store a few weeks ago to inquire about curbside pick-up. I spoke with Sajid (who I think is the owner?), and he agreed to pick-up my boxes at 6pm on a Sunday, even though the store closes at 5pm on Sundays. He called me at 5:30 to ensure that my boxes were ready, then arrived at my apartment right on schedule. Some of my boxes were a little used, so he offered to put extra tape on them (without me even asking!). The whole experience was a breeze--he picked up the boxes, and called me less than 20 minutes later with a quote and delivery time estimate. I gave him the ok to process the order, and ta-da, I was all set!!! I was not looking forward to the hassle of having to figure out how to ship all my stuff back to the west coast, but Sajid made it so painless and easy. Thank you so much for all of your help! I've also gone to the actual store a few times to print random things, etc. Always impressed with the service! Everyone is friendly and eager to help. read more

Lynne at UPS worked with me in a friendly, professional manner and made the job a pleasure, when it could have been a really frustrating experience because of the paperwork required.
