This is by far the singular worst experience I have ever had in any establishment. I classify myself as a passive person, and I do my best to avoid conflict and keep situations as pleasnt as possible, no matter the circumstances. I have had the unfortunate experience of needing to visit this store several times, and this most recent experience was by far the worst and most egregious. In order to truly grasp the entire situation that prompted this review, you must understand the previous experience.
When I visited this location for the first time, I stayed behind the blue line for the overwhelming majority of the exchange, and then took a small step over the line to place my package on the counter. Because of that small step to give the man helping me with my package, he angrily reprimanded me, in a manner that made me feel belittled, uncomfortable, and shocked at this behavior.
On the day that gave me cause to write this review, I walked in, with a mask, and two packages to mail. One was an Amazon return, and the other was a small package for a family member. I remembered my previous experience and made the resolution to make this as smooth as possible. With that mindset, I entered the building. I waited for approximately 10 minutes, and then stepped forward to mail my packages once I was called. It was the same man as I had during my last venture, and I mentally prepared myself to be as pleasnt as possible. I made sure to stay behind the blue marker on the floor the entire encounter. I wasn't greeted, just rudely instructed to place my very small Amazon return on the scale. Keeping in mind my previous experience, I decided the best course of action was to lightly toss the package onto the scale. Due to the packaging material and the lightweight nature of the parcel, it slipped off the counter and fell onto the floor. Not realizing this, I placed my other package and my credit card onto the counter to continue and thus finish my transaction. The man behind the counter (whom I later discovered is the owner), yelled at me and threw the Amazon return at my face. He then proceeded to throw my other package and my credit card onto the floor at my feet, yelling at me to get out of his store the entire time. I bent down to collect my items and left in humiliation in front of the other customers.
I then proceeded to walk to my car and attempted to process what had just happened while sitting in the parking lot. I left after I had collected myself, and went to the UPS store in Gunbarrel. The man who helped me there was lovely, but this is not the point of this review. After finishing my mailing ordeal, I drove home, in tears, and told my husband about the situation. He decided to go down to the store about an hour and a half after I was there, and speak to the manager (we didn't know that the man who was so awful to me was the owner at the time). When he came home, he told me that the man who had been so unconscionably rude was in fact the owner, and the he had taken a picture of my license plate and my face to report to the police. Understandably, I was distressed at this development. I couldn't see and still can't see how I had done anything wrong.
This experience has truly ruined any possible positive perception I had of this store, and frankly, UPS in general. Never before have I been treated so rudely, nor been so demeaned. I can say with confidence that I will never return to the store while that man owns it, if ever.
To the man who helped me at this location, and who owns the store, I welcome you to respond to this review. This is the only way I feel comfortable interacting with you in regards to my safety.
To those that are reading this review, I implore you to chose any other UPS location. The one in Gunbarrel is lovely and very helpful. The man who helped me, Corey, couldn't be nicer. As far as this location goes, I would easily pay double the prices to never have to go into that store again. read more
