A chain yes, but for Heaven's sake, did they think about the consequences of using this name when they were brainstorming? Do you think there is going to be a single man out there who is going to want to use a service that when the charge comes up on his receipt it says, "Minute Man?" Anyway, despite this forbidden word in most women's vocabulary, I had to use this printer for a while until I finally dumped them and moved on (Woman if this sounds familiar to you, remember, sometimes commitment doesn't mean that men REALLY care... if you get what I am saying here.... ;) Their printing was fine and usually I had them print up my company business cards and stationary, but unlike their name, they took forever and I would get tired of it.... Lol, pun intended... I ended up breaking off our relationship because I asked if they could start printing all of our business cards and stationary with recycled paper and soy ink and they told me that they would not be able to do that at their printer... I've gotten previous business cards at Minuteman for almost two decades. They were always easy to deal with and fair. But in May 2019, I went back for new cards and their policy had changed so they no longer first send proofs, then get your approval of the proofs, then take the order for quantity to print, then print the cards and finally collect payment when you pick up the cards. Now they wanted payment before they'd do anything - saying their work was in the design. And their prices (at least for my business cards) are MUCH higher than Morrell in Lafayette - who did not ask for payment up front, did an excellent and prompt job, but got paid when they delivered the cards. I think Minuteman's "justification" that their work is in the design so they need payment up front before they'll even prepare a proof doesn't make sense - particularly with a return customer of almost 2 decades who's always placed the order after approving proofs and paid when the cards were printed. I'm not a coding person but, if their real concern was that someone will take their layout design elsewhere (without paying for the layout) and get it printed at a better price, I'd be surprised if there wasn't a simple way for design software to add a "Proof" watermark - as you see on photos and images for sale on the web before you've paid for them. My guess is that their real reason for requiring payment up front is that they don't want to do the layout for cards (or whatever) and then have customers realize their prices are higher and ask them to meet a competitor's more reasonable prices before they approve the actual printing. So they try to lock you into their over-priced cost right up front by collecting payment before they do anything. That's my guess. Maybe it's a smart business model for them. I'm sad to have had to take my business elsewhere this time. Their quality always used to be good. If their prices and payment policy were competitive, I'd consider going back. But given my recent experience, I would avoid Minuteman Boulder unless you've got cash to burn. read more
