I came here yesterday to fax something because 1992 called. I frequent this location out of convenience to return things to Amazon. I just wanted to say that every single person who works at this location has been kind and helpful. Yes, it is mostly a bunch of youngins but they were raised properly because there wasn't a genz stare in sight. On top of that, I rushed there after work one day only to find the store closed before its posted business hours, which I found very concerning and difficult to understand as acceptable. This is the worst UPS store and customer service I've ever experienced. I went to mail two letters, waited in line for 20 minutes, and when I spoke to the clerk, she told me that they were out of envelope so she advised me to get a bubble wrapped package slip, even though all I was sending is a piece of paper, and then she tries to charge me $16 to ship a piece of paper because they were out of stamps. When I told her that it's ridiculous that I have to pay $32 in shipping for two pieces of paper because they're out of stamps and envelopes is ridiculous, and she still charged me five dollars for the bubble wrap slips that I will never use. I don't know why I wasn't informed that there was no envelopes or stamps at the beginning instead of wasting my time and money. read more

I often go to this store with many packages and usually make 3-4 trips from my car to bring them all in. I wish some of the males would be courteous enough to help me carry them in. I made the mistake of leaving my label at home and only realized it once I was half way to the store.. figured it just pay the .25 or .50 to print one out like I've had to do in the past at my stores (in New Braunfels and San Antonio).. nope not here! They have this nasty computer you get to log your personal info into for an absolutely ridiculous rate! This is worse than atm fees by a mile! BEWARE. The store owner, this store is part of a UPS franchise, refuses to remove the glade plug-in installed to cover the smell of a sewage issue. He was totally unprofessional and could care less. Stopped by to drop off a pre paid package to be shipped and to print out a single 8.5x11 black and white print. Was told it would be $3, when I inquired that the price was high compared to other places, where it's usually 10/20 cents, I was told to leave and go there instead. I even described the how I used print services at other places and again I was told to go there. I WOULD AVOID USING ANY PRINTING SERVICES HERE. This place has awful customer service. I had a label and a package for an Amazon return and they wouldn't even tape the label on to the package for me. When I needed to print the label, I asked if I could email them and they can help print it for me (which would cost them less than 10 cents). I was expecting a package that needed a signature, and used the UPS website to hold the package at this UPS store. The package was delivered and the store refused it, because they "didn't have any room." If they aren't going to accept packages, they should not allow packages to be routed to them. I have always had good experiences when I shipped from UPS. Today my interaction was with Kyle. I had looked online about what my shipping options were and the cost before I had arrived to the store. I was welcomed by all the staff behind the counter as I approached. Kyle was very thorough and extremely helpful. He gave me options on packaging as well as drop off times. The prices were accurate with what I had seen online and I left feeling like all my questions were answered and my package would safely be delivered. Several years ago I began driving over to this UPS Store - after having a few bad experiences with a shipping center in SPM - it is my favorite shipping center and it's the best of the 3 UPS Stores on the south side of Austin! Each time I stop in (about every 6-8 weeks) I am greeted by friendly, smiling faces. This location seems to be well staffed; the employees are efficient and knowledgeable, extremely helpful and patient, and if there is a line (which generally there isn't at this location) it moves quickly. I also truly appreciate that even when I am simply dropping something off, I am still recognized as (and treated like) a paying customer - I am happily offered a receipt/tracking number (without having to ask)...that has not always been my experience at other places. I had stopped here the first time for something I needed to get notarized. The employee was a little short with me but got the job done. I was in and out quickly. The second time I was here was to drop a prepaid amazon return package. The employee who was there this time was helping two older gentlemen. I came in and the employee said if I was just dropping off I could leave the package on the counter. Since i was off today, and this UPS store is near our home, I thought how convenient it will be to print out the label and drop off the box. If you could have seen the shocked look on my face when I was advised by the desk clerk that it would cost me $3 to print out a UPS prepaid return label to affix to the box. Really? Highway robbery. Today is the first and last time i will visit your store unless you clarify your current charges with your staff working the front desk. Absolutely unbelievable. I paid $250.00 to overnight a package, and it arrived 4 days late. Now, the folks at The UPS Store, where I paid them for their service, refuse to refund my money. What is worse, they have absolutely no idea how to process a refund, and have no information whatsoever on when/how my refund will be processed. They only state that The UPS store and UPS are different entities, therefore The UPS Store cannot process the refund; UPS will review the case, and will refund if they deem the claim valid. No one to contact for info or status. Appalling service. Not the fault of the employees. Their supervisors have not provided them with the necessary tools to properly serve their customers. I will give 5 stars to the UPS Store on Westgate in South Austin. I was helped by Nelda, and she was very patient and cheerfully packed 2 posters in 2 separate tubes, making sure that they wouldn't be damaged en route. It was harder than you would think. The young man working with her was also cheerful and patient while helping an older, slightly disabled gentleman with the large items he was shipping. This is in contrast to the people at the store on Slaughter Ave., near Manchaca Rd and the HEB. I was told that they could not ship posters, did not have any tubes available, and didn't know where I might find them elsewhere.
