Exorbitant shipping prices. I used to really like the guy who owned this store, but things have changed since he sold his business. Today I went in to ship a small 12 ounce box with $100 insurance. If I understood correctly, they said they are not allowed to sell insurance on USPS packages. They said the lowest cost was FedEx at $28. I said no thanks. They also wrapped up and boxed an old ceramic Christmas tree. That was $14, which I didn't mind paying. But then they quoted me a shipping cost of $178 on the 11 pound box, or $191 shipped by USPS. I said no thanks again. I went over to the US Post Office and paid $9 to ship the small box with insurance and paid $34 to ship the large box with insurance. Their quote on the small box was 3 times the USPS price and their quote on the large box was 5.6 times the USPS price. I just felt like their $176 markup on shipping costs was a bit too much. read more

BPS just won the "Best Small Business" award from the Buda Chamber of Commerce for 2006, and just in time: the UPS Store is going in next to the new Wal-Mart, and the United States Post Office is suing Buda Postal Service because "Postal Service" is a brand trademark of the U.S. Government. How lame is that? So anyway, if you believe in small business, and buying locally, pass on the MegaChains and give your local shipper your business. read more

When I went to Buda Postal Station, I was charged $32.00.. I did insure the item so that added an extra $6 or so to their bottom line rate. When I asked why they were charging so much, the clerk asked me if I had heard of the price of fuel and the surcharges. Oh, darn, I guess the extra $21.00 was for the clerk to put the item in a box and stick the label on... The bottom line is my bank account is $32.00 lighter because I didn't have time to stop and do my homework. read more

Maybe I just had a bad first experience, but when I tried to mail a legal envelope i got frustrated and took my mail to the REAL POST OFFICE about 2 miles away where they not only understood what I was mailing, but they charged me the correct postage instead of overcharging me $1.00 like the wannabe post office. I have used these people for years and I am not sure why. I think I figured it was better than standing in line at the post office. At least the people at my post office are friendly. The woman who runs this place acts like she is bothered by customers. She cannot smile and seems to have what I have always called the "rude clerk syndrome," but recently have heard others call it the "king complex." You know, it is the person who is serving you from across the counter who has momentary power over you and likes to see you squirm. Buda Postal Service has lost my business for good. Try to smile, at least, lady. The people who walk through your doors are the life blood of your business. And get a door that people who are carrying packages don't have to set everything down to slide your stupid sliding glass door. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. read more

I've dropped things off for return shipping to Buda Postal Station a lot in recent years. My wife does a lot of her clothes shopping online, and used to drop stuff at BPS herself. However, she got tired of the female owner always being short with her. As my wife put it, she feels no customer service and worse, feels like she's being accused of shipping plutonium when she's simply returning shoes to Zappos (and yes, it was a Zappos box). It's so bad, BPS is now referred to as "Suspicious Minds" in our house. I had the responsibility to drop stuff off as I always seemed to get another woman or the young man who always greeted me with a smile and a warm greeting. Until today. I am a homebrewer and am shipping a 5 gallon EMPTY, CLEAN & SANITIZED keg back to the manufacturer for a replacement as it has a leak. Yes, it has had beer in it, but at the time of shipping, it was empty, cleaned (3 times) and sanitized. I clearly stated that I needed to ship via UPS, which take empty 5 gallon kegs as that's what most homebrewers use for shipping empty kegs. With as few words as possible she told me she couldn't ship as it had been exposed to beer. She then said, "Take it to a hub". I see no reason why the rules of BPS should be different from the shipper that I want to ship with. There's no prohibition list online that I could find that calls out empty, cleaned kegs. But more importantly, at least take the energy to say, "I'm really sorry, but we can't ship that due to our policy. We know UPS will, we just can't. Here's the address of the UPS hub that you can take it to and I'll bet they can help". Takes 30 seconds longer. Instead, I'll just take my shipping, printing and packaging somewhere else. read more

I went in around 10:30 a.m. to see if they could help me pack a "carebox" of items to mail my son in camp. The lady working there was so efficient and took great care to bubble wrap the homemade cookies I had fixed so they wouldn't be smashed. I opted for Usps instead of UPS because of about 10$ difference in rate, so wasn't sure when the box would arrive. My son called the very next day and was thrilled that he'd gotten it so quickly! I just took my items in, they found a box wrapped it up, took my address and labeled it. Done deal! Great experience! read more

I use Buda Postal Station's services regularly. I love that they are a local family-run small business and I appreciate the excellent service I consistently receive. Last week, I was planning my son's 3rd birthday. He loves Spider-Man, Batman and Superman, so I decided on a 'Superhero' themed party. I wanted a cute game to play and after much thought, decided to organize a game of 'Pin the mask on Captain Caleb!' I called Christopher, who is the (very talented and kind) graphic artist at Buda Postal Station to ask him if he could help bring my game idea to life. He promptly designed a poster and masks to pin. The design turned out incredible! Everyone at the party commented on the game and poster, saying how original and adorable it was (and of course, I told everyone about Christopher at Buda Postal Station!) Thank you Christopher (and the rest of the staff at BPS) for your outstanding customer service, friendly smiles and wonderful work! You rock! read more

My family has been to the Print and Shop twice and the employee was very rude both times. We won't be back .

Today I was misquoted on mailing a package by two different empoloyees of the Buda Postal Staion. The first gentlman quoted me $60.83 to send a package to spain. I told him was invoicing a customer and to check the amount. So He confirmed. When I returned to mail the package I was told I had been misquoted. The young lady working at that time took my number and said she woyuld find out what was wrong and call me back. When I had not heard anything I called back and was told it would be $77.00 to mail the package. I went back to mail it and was now told it would be $180 to mail the package. When I chose not to mail the package I was asked to leave. This place is a real joke and a very poorly run business. I asked to speak to a manager but none was made available. I would not recommend this business to anyone. I will also be posting a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Stay away from this place read more

I own a small business and I support the church that is a block away from this place, I also like to support small business and therefore I have visited this store 4 times already and this is the LAST Time and I am making sure all people I know knows about it. A few months back, a blond lady (the owner according to their website) is at the counter having a bad day all the time, her attitude is as ... why are you at my store dropping off a box? She gave me trouble and attitude because it was a prepaid (RMA) shipment and wanted to know exactly what was in the box. Obviously not spending money with them so I get the look and the smirk and the attitude. Today, stupid me went again in there with a small box OPEN so they can inspect the contents of the box, I was happy to see a new young face at the counter and a sigh of relief when I thought I am not having to deal with Mrs. Shotgun having a bad day attitude lady, and the young guy at the counter informs me that it is 50 cents for a strip of tape no longer than 10 inches necessary to seal the box. Really, 50 cents for 10 inches of packing tape? It should be a courtesy service! How much is the cost of a roll of tape versus losing a customer? $20 for 100yards of tape. As Mentioned, I have given this store 4 chances, and every time is like my money is not good enough and I am just bothering them by walking in there. Perhaps they should record their soaps or whatever is it they are doing so when a customer walks in, they have the time to say "hello" and "thank you" rather than get out of my store, you are bothering me. If the purpose of the store is for BUYING customers only, then DE-List yourself as a drop off location for UPS and FedEx. It is obvious that people dropping packages at your store are a nuisance. Form now on I am heading west to the US postal office or north to south park meadows. read more

I went in to make some copies, but the computer was not available so the guy said I could email him the doc and then he could print it. But to email it to him, it cost $2.50 cents. That's ridiculous! I'm not sure if he would of charged me to use the computer to print, but my gues is yes, if he charged me to email it to him why wouldn't he charge me to use the computer. That is so stupid. I received the WORST Customer Service of my life at BUDA POSTAL from the INEPT Female Owner who RIPPED ME OFF. This owner is completely clueless and incompetent and by her attitude it is obvious that she just doesn't really care. She mentioned to the UPS guy that some man got her into this situation to begin with. I emailed her (at Buda Postal's email)-- 4 single page emails. I asked her twice, "Would it be more economical to email Buda Postal and have you make copies of the 4 emails that I sent OR cheaper if I just use your computer to pull up my emails and print them. Both times she advised me that the cost would be the same either way. I emailed her my 4 emails for her to print. They were in business letter format (i.e. reading from top to bottom up and down on the page...like all normal letters). The print that she brings out is reading side to side across the page...literally SIDEWAYS and quite unprofessional. I asked her if she can print it up and down like a normal letter. She said that she does not know how to do that. Unbelievable. I then try to print my emails from the computer in the store. It does not work and I ask her for help. She says that she does not know about computers. Unhelpful. Can she possibly be any less helpful? It takes me 20 minutes to figure out by myself what is up with the computer not printing properly...with no help from her at all. Then she charges me $10.00 TEN DOLLARS FOR 20 MINUTES ON THE COMPUTER. IF SHE HAD ANY CLUE WHAT SHE WAS DOING AND COULD HAVE OFFERED ANY ASSISTANCE AT ALL...I WOULD HAVE NEVER NEEDED TO USE THE COMPUTER to get what I needed...4 single page emails printed. When I told her that it seemed completely unfair for her to charge me $10.00 for 20 minutes on the computer when she could be of no assistance. She said OK, and went to the back and hid out without offering me any solution for basically ripping me off...No store credit...No, I am sorry that happened....NADA...she could have cared less. Very INEPT. I have been going there regularly for a couple of years now. I have spent quite a bit of money on large quantities of Color and Black and White prints of many photos. Christopher, who unfortunately, no longer works there was very knowledgeable, professional, and helpful. Also, there was a previous unhelpful incident with this same Female Owner. Horrible service! I forgot that my husband had a bad experience with them too so when I needed to ship my UPS package, I thought of them since they're close. I needed one piece of packing tape since I couldn't find any at home and wasn't going to stop and buy some. They tried to charge me a dollar to tape the top! I told the lady that I don't have any cash and could she just help me out and she gave me a snotty look. After a few seconds she said well just this once but next time we'll have to charge you. Buda Postal Station is great! I have done shipping and printing there. They have wonderful personalities with very apealing looks. As far as I know other than the owners now there are at least three employees that do a fantastic job at accomidating your needs. I go to them on a regular, and have always been treated with respect. Tammy is a good friend and makes people feel welcomed into her store. Now the process does get slow sometimes, but they always do their best, so the job is worth the wait. I will be a continuing customer of the Buda Postal Station for years to come, or however long they continue their great business. read more

I've used Buda Postal at various times over the past several years and found them to be friendly. My beef with them is that they are expensive. I recently got a quote from them to ship several different ways and settled on UPS after hearing prices and transit times. Just out of curiosity I went online and checked the price with UPS via their web site. I was charged approximately $7 more for the exact same service. I would expect there might be a slight upcharge so that Buda Postal could be compensated for their time. On the other hand, at no time was I told it would cost more. I was even shocked at a typical Amazon book box weighing less than 2 lbs could cost $24+ to go Ground from TX to NC. It would have cost $16+ utilizing UPS. No boxes, special labels....just Ground and this was the cost disparity. This was the first time I checked but not the first time I felt prices were high. I also wanted to ship an expensive watch for repair last year and could not buy enough insurance....again via UPS. I then proceeded to UPS where they would let me add the insurance I desired. I will not use BPS again what with UPS and USPS nearby....both offering their full service at regular prices and with more options. As stated in their reply in another review...all their services are marked up. BUT....they don't mention this and it feels like being deceived when they quote you prices from the various carriers not to have this disclosed. Another thing that may be unfair to mention but I've felt every single time I've used them to ship that they are fearful of any legal problems that might arise from providing service. They have you sign forms stating you aren't shipping hazardous/certain items. It may be warranted but it is off putting and it comes off as more of an interrogation. This is the predominate theme each time. As careful as they are with this you'd think they would have another form....one that you would sign... acknowledging that you understand they are charging you more for shipping than you would pay if you went directly to the company (UPS, USPS, FedEx, etc). This seems a lot like something that would fall under the Deceptive Trade Practices Act. I actually assumed that there MIGHT be a small charge or commission paid to BPS...but not to the extent I discovered and without being told. This should have come up when I expressed my concern about the prices. My assumption was that there couldn't be much of a differnence if any. But even after commenting that I was shocked at how much shipping cost..."wow....maybe it's gone up because of gas prices".... I just got a quiet nod with no verbal response or explanation. Simply put....no clarification was given at any time....unless it was in the fine print. In a way I understand their predicament. If they told their customers they are charging more for the same services....sometimes with less options...they would probably lose business. read more
