I believe this place is under new management now but regardless, it has been only positive experiences now! The women who work here are always super kind and helpful. It makes shipping anything so convenient and easy. I am especially thankful for their going above and beyond to help this mom out. I needed to get a package out but my baby had fallen asleep in the car and as other parents know, you do all you can to let them sleep! But i couldn't leave him in the car obviously so I had no way of going inside. I was parked right outside the store and called to explain the situation. Without hesitation, the young woman came right out to get my package. Seriously so kind and made my day--it really means a lot to this young mom to have people help with kindness and not disdain. FYI Postmark'd is under new management! I noticed that ever since the change in management, customer service is better and more efficient! I'm always greeted with a smile and all of the ladies are super friendly and helpful! Duke is the new manager and he is so friendly! It doesn't feel like quite a chore anymore to ship packages. I want in the mail my grandson a care package while serving in the Navy on board an aircraft carrier off the coast of Vietnam. I have to admit I have never sent a package overseas to a US ship halfway around the world. I tried to use the address I was given and had a hard time with the way I had it written down. The attendant was very helpful and patient finally getting the package shipped off, now just wanting for my grandson to get his Texas items for him and his other Texas shipmates to share. This place is close fast convenient and friendly, the only downside is the parking is limited. read more

AVOID THIS PLACE ! Expensive and RUDE..... Dropped off package for UPS pickup, prepaid label asked for a receipt he stated rudely and sternly "Again !?" Is this how you treat a customer? Maybe a financial issue because i did not pay for shipping and just dropped off a package, but still that is not how you treat a customer or person for that matter.. Very rude. We regularly go to Postmark'd for our returns. They pack items for you as well, which is a life safer when you don't have all the right boxes or padding necessary. Although it has been mentioned in other reviews, we've never had a bad experience and folks have always been nice / warm to us. We love this place. read more

I needed to return an item, so I decided to go to Postmark'd since they utilize a variety of carriers. I had a fairly large box, but it was very light. I was quoted $55 for Fed Ex Ground and $53 for USPS Priority Mail. I was told those were the least expensive options. I decided to try my luck by going directly to the Post Office (USPS) and I was told it would only cost $19 to ship the exact same package as Priority Mail. I think they're definitely ripping people off for the convenience factor of not having to go to the Post Office. read more

This place's prices are INSANE. I don't even see why this is legal. And the clerk's attitude was cruddy too. So I searched "post office" on my supposedly-Smartphone's navigation app, and this place came up. I went in to mail a small package -- just a paperback novel that I was sending to California. The clerk at the counter seemed brisk but nice as she weighed my package and asked me how I'd like to send it; I told her I'd just like whatever method was cheapest, as it didn't matter how fast it got there. I assumed the cheapest would be either Priority or First Class. After a moment, she said, "That'll be $23.87." (Or some similar amount -- it was just under $24.) I blinked, confused, and said, "Really? Almost twenty-four dollars?" She gave me a hostile look and barked, "Yeah, we're a retail store." As if I were a dumbass and that should explain everything. She'd been friendly enough just a few seconds earlier, so her harsh tone surprised me. I thought maybe I'd misunderstood something. "That's the cheapest price you have to send it to LA?" Again, she barked, "We're a retail store," in a really harsh and defensive tone. I mumbled "Oh, okay, well never mind," and held out my hand to take my package back. She handed it to me and turned away without a word. "Sorry," I said, and, without looking at me, she said, "Don't be," in a really snotty voice. I drove to the nearest post office and mailed the book to LA for $5.75. I can't believe this place can get away with an $18 markup. That seems like it should be illegal! Especially when the actual post office is struggling financially! And the fact that Postmark'd comes up on a Smartphone search for post offices also annoys me, though I have no idea who/what is at fault for that. But don't make the same mistake I did -- this place is NOT a post office, IT'S A RETAIL STORE. Okay, then. Apparently that means you get an over 300% price markup and a snotty attitude to match. Postmark'd is now Blackmark'd! Went in to ship one bottle of wine to a friend in Allen,Texas for her Birthday. Waited in the never ending looooong line of Soccer Mom's on cell phones and old ladies that apparently have never mailed anything in their lives except stamps for a tin whistle from Roy Rogers! Got to the counter and the old fat guy asks me where I bought the wine. WTF? Why does it matter? I bought it at Spec's I tell him. He tells me that if it wasn't purchased from the Twin's Liquor next door then it's illegal to ship. Seriously?? Couldn't you have posted a damn sign so that I could have saved that 20 minutes of my life that you wasted? Ass Hats! I drove down to the Post Office Outlet/ Stor at Slaughter and 1826 and mailed the damn bottle of wine without a single problem! read more

Man, just when you think service is as dead as Sanskrit you find your hope restored. I only mention it because sometimes there's a man... I won't say a hero, 'cause what's a hero? But sometimes, there's a man - and I'm talkin' about the Dude here - sometimes, there's a man, well, he's the man for his time and place. He fits right in there. And that's the guy at Postmark'd. In Far South Austin. They weighed my non-standard envelopes because I never know how much postage to put on something more than a simple bill or letter, then they told me how much I owed, except the postal lady was wanting to leave and those envelopes needed to go in that postal truck and then! I had no money. Yes, I said it. I left my EFFING wallet at home. So I told the lady I could give her a credit card #, but she and the guy managing the place seemed a bit skeptical about that (yes, I DO memorize my CC#, EXP date and that security code), but the postal lady was having none of this (I'll review her on yelp later!) so the kid let me go with out paying so now I am going to go back and give them the $5.60 I owe them and I think I'[ll let the kid know that I gave them a good review on yelp. I am not a friend of the owners of this place, and I don't even know their names. What I do know is that I have used this postal store for seven years. They have always provided us with excellent customer service. I did not know their rates were that much higher, but for some things, it's definitely worth the convenience. For the person ranting about the 1.15 extra not to have to drive through traffic, pay the extra gasoline, etc. -- for me, it makes sense to pay the 1.15. As an example of the great service, I forgot to add critical information to a fax. The "old man" (please, he's barely 60, if that, and he's not in the slightest bit grumpy, ever, so not sure if we are talking about the same guy) graciously put in a last page for us so that the critical information was there. He took the message over the phone and wrote it for me! Other times, he has let me drop something off, run to Starbucks, and then come back a few minutes later to pay and pick up my items. They have the addresses for every person I regularly send things to. read more

Never thought I'd be leaving a review for a mail/shipping place but here we are! Parvez was so awesome and helped me save almost 20.00 on shipping an item! I came in with my item in a box with some (unnecessary) packing paper and it was gonna cost 30.00 to ship. He explained that if I repacked it in a smaller package I could save a good amount of money. Needed a notary outside of banking hours and stopped by Postmark'd. Gentleman (believe he was the owner) took great care of us in a timely manner. I've also done some minor laminating jobs here in the past and have gotten great service in a timely fashion. Will definitely be back! read more

Guess what folks? It keeps getting harder to ship a last minute Fed Ex package in SW Austin, and PostMark'd plays a big role in this. I'm scrambling to send out five short notice afternoon shipments and turns out they drop this bomb that last week they stopped accepting Fed Ex packages with handwritten billing numbers?? The supposed reasons for this were a little iffy. The girl said it was for security reasons, that if someone fakes the account # the store would be liable. Makes no sense to me - as couldn't a pre-printed or typed bill be faked as well? How could the store possibly ever know whether the account number is legit? Sure - I'd love it if my company allowed contractors the use of pre-printed airbills - but that's just not going to happen. I can't be the only person who has to ship packages with little notice in that same situation. So I did manage to fight the traffic and make it to the Fed Ex in Sunset Valley in time - where I was told by the folks there that I was the third person to come in that afternoon and complain about the new Fed Ex policy - a policy they claim to have never heard of! But really - I've never been keen on Postmark'd since the original ownership sold out a few years back. He stopped stocking blank airbills - claiming Fed Ex charges for them and that Fed Ex was going to phase out all manual airbills in the near future. I didn't believe that story at the time and still don't. It's been almost two years and - Fed Ex is still using plenty of manual airbills. So - aside from the owner's strange battle with Fed Ex - the lack of parking near the Escarpment Village location just continues to get worse. This isn't the fault of Postmark'd - but the dance studio next door takes up almost all the parking - especially in the afternoons. If one is not inclined to park illegally - it could take as long as 10 minutes to find a space. It can be a major pain - especially in bad weather. What SW Austin needs VERY badly is a real Fed Ex shipping and copy location. Something closer than Sunset Valley (for example in the new center going up near the Alamo at MoPac and Slaughter) - would be busy day and night. read more

This place used to be great, but there has been a distinct change in their attitude (for the worse) recently. Another reviewer mentioned that there was a change in ownership. If so, that's probably the reason things changed so drastically. My last 3 trips to this place (to mail packages I had prepared at home) have been total wastes of time. They seem to revel in being nit-picky, and always found something wrong with my package. And all 3 times, these issues were imaginary, as UPS or FedEx accepted the very same packages at their offices, no problem. So basically, Postmark'd is only interested in selling their own packaging, and their own mark'd up air-bills. That's their right, obviously, but they lost any goodwill they used to have with me. read more

Very expensive to ship anything from this place. Dropped off a small envelope weighing less than 1 ounce, to ship certified with return receipt. Cost me $14.49. When I checked the USPS website, it says it would only cost $7.00. The person waiting on me was very nice, but the cost is way too much to use this place again. I use this place often, and even though the pricing are expensive, the service is impeccable, the staff and owner are helpful and courteous, and its in a convenient location. However, for the very first time I was serviced by David. For some context, we came in about 30 minutes before closing on a Saturday. There was one woman ahead of us and we had a fairly large package to send that needed packing. So I understand that towards the end of a shift, that can be annoying. But it doesn't excuse the fact that he, multiple times, under his breath (which I could clearly hear) called my husband and I "f***ing assholes". And every time someone came in after us, to even just drop off a package, he would say (again audibly, but under his breath),"f*** you" to that customer. The woman who was in front of this heard it as well and rolled her eyes saying "He doesn't like us very much does he?". In addition, he was constantly texting people. He clearly had personal plans after work and saw customers as a massive inconvenience. No matter, we waited patiently, paid the expensive shipping, and, when asked if he could pack out packages after he helped other customers, we agreed to make it more convenient for him (after all, we've all experience an annoying work day and we trusted Postmark'd in the past with no issues) BIG MISTAKE. Our packages resulted in multiple broken items, returns and delays. This is after I paid over $200 to ship just two packages. Needless to say, I will be contacting the manager but everyone should be aware of this employee and his attitude towards you and your items you are paying a premium to ship. read more

The price for a simple service was outrageous. I email Kinkos something to print, they print it, and I pay something like .10 per black/white page. At Postmark'd, to print 3 pages in black/white, I paid about $2.50. There was nothing wrong with the service other than the price, however. read more

Wonderful customer service both by owner, Parvez, and assistant, Steve...Courteous, friendly, good tips on how to save $$ on shipping, and a quite good display of Greeting cards...Some small gifts on hand,too, (stuffed animals, etc.) if you 'forgot someone' and are in a time crunch. Very helpful and friendly staff! I came in at 5:10 p.m. to do an overnight delivery. Even though there were 20 minutes before the last pick-up, parez, the guy who helped, understood that I was in a rush to get my package out, so he had his coworker start packing up my item with bubble wrap, then packaging it properly, while he himself started my transaction and took down the addresses, etc. Left the place in great satisfaction. But then I realized I had forgotten to make sure to have some one sign for it upon delivery. So as I pulled out of the parking lot, I called them, and the same guy picked up the phone and resolved the issue for me in under a minute. I'm happy these guys helped to close out my Friday work afternoon so smoothly. read more

Okay - I went back here today - and the new owner has definitely changed the atmosphere. Gone are grumpy man and grumpy girl, and the two young men in there today (I believe one might have been the owner) were super friendly and helpful - a world of difference. They also stopped selling lottery tickets and put in an ATM - which makes this the closest ATM in our neighborhood. So give it a try if you were as disappointed as I was under the old management. read more
