as a former master agent of ten years servicing one account through four different contracted companies this company was the worst. i terminated my contract with this company for the scandalous acts of their operations manager st louis. when their VP was alive, everything went pretty smoothly. received a lucrative raise when diligent took over bjc healthcare. they coudlnt keep an operations manager in this area. we went through at least five operatons managers in two years. when they hired the last scandalous OP he took our routes that we serviced for ten years flawlessly, and gave them to his family and friends. total breach of contract for not acting in good faith. we had done nothing wrong to deserve this. i would steer clear of this company. plenty of other good companies to contract for! dont say you were not warned! read more

So I had my second experience with Capitol Courier here in Austin, TX today, and while having an experience - any experience - with a courier service shouldn't itself make for a titillating review; for me, a courier company not making any mistakes was in itself pretty exciting. Megan, the gal who answered the phone, was exceptionally friendly and attentive, and scheduling a courier to come out was handled just as these such things should be handled: brief, thorough, and simple. Of note, it was the middle of the day on Monday and I was still able to get quoted a service call within 2 hours, which ended up being only about 20 minutes...getting a taxi can take longer! I rarely write reviews for anybody....good or bad. This experience was so bad I felt obligated. Couriers show up 30 minutes later than the "there at the latest" time. When I initially called to check on delivery I was told they would be here "at some time today." I called 10 minutes prior to the end of the time window and get told "they will be there in 15 minutes." I call 20 minutes later. "They are pulling up now." 10 minutes later they arrive. I almost missed my window for ecomm delivery packages and almost lost revenue due to their incompetence. Just wanted others to know. read more

I work as the receptionist in a busy medical office in NW Austin. My company has a contract with Capitol Courier to transport things for us daily. These are regular deliveries between our locations around town. Overall, their service is pretty good. Our regular courier, Harrison, could be replaced and I would not be sad. He is nice enough, but regularly carries our boxes in the back of his pickup truck (even in inclement weather) and now we are dealing with a mold issue inside them. He also tosses them down instead of sitting them down, which is very loud and has caused the latches on them to break, then complains to other employees in our parking lot about how he wishes we would replace them so he wouldn't dump the contents out. We have just replaced them at our cost. I called and spoke about this with the office and the woman I spoke with was very nice, but it doesn't seem as though much has changed. When Harrison is out and someone (or multiple people) fill in for him, everything goes wrong. I have had several people come in with the wrong box or take the wrong box and then another courier shows up to take it but it's gone. Sometimes a courier walks in and has no idea what they're here for, just that they were supposed to be here. I can't help them, because I don't know how Capitol Courier has arranged for who to take what where. It's just a mess.. Additionally, today I received a package of business cards I had ordered from our printer. Apparently our printer also uses this business. The guy who dropped off my box reeked of cigarette smoke and so did my package. It was awful and he should have been embarrassed. So should the company be. Even though they are in South Austin and the destination was Pflugerville so they added extra $ for travel, I thought their prices were reasonable. When I tell her I am calling again already and offer my phone# she gives me a flat no. I only wish there were another courier who would get my licensure payment to the DOH the same day. I've been using these guys for at least 2 yrs now & have had repeated problems with them & I've finally had it. Most shipments happen ok but, finally it's just all added up to be ridiculous to continue to use them. I've had them pick up the wrong box (one obviously marked "for UPS" & one obviously marked "for Capitol Courier" with their printed delivery label on it. I've called no less than 7 times over the years to have them update our business address & they never do or never do it right. I've called to have them redirect the shipment to our correct address & had them not relay that info to the driver twice now: Fri & Tue & today, well, let's hope they did it this time because they've been driving around with our delivery since Friday & it's now Wed. I've also experienced them taking no action when I tell them about the problems I've experienced because they take no action to prevent recurrences. Additionally, I called to talk to a manager once about a person who dropped the ball on a delivery & the person refused to let me talk to the manager & proceeded to tell me I was wrong about him. I did eventually talk to the manager but....the problems have just persisted too long & too repeatedly. I can't give them any more chances to correct problems they have shown themselves to be unwilling to address. read more

If there was a "zero" star, I would rate them a zero! Horrible experience with this company and their freight affiliate, GlobalTranz. I needed to freight a desk, rug and wall art to my daughter in Florida so I contacted Heidi Spahn of Capitol Courier. I paid Capitol Courier additional money for the extra packaging in addition to freight and insurance. When the freight arrived at my daughter's home, the freight pallet was placed in my daughter's garage. Since both my daughter and her husband work and have busy schedules, they were not able to immediately open the pallet. When they were able to unpack the pallet, the top glass (antiqued mirror glass) of the desk was broken. By email, I notified Brandon Schwartz of GlobalTranz of the damage. He responded in his email, "On this shipment it signed clean no damages . . . . In this scenario it's considered "concealed damages" and the receiver only has 5 business days, by law, too report the issue to the carrier. Unfortunately no claim can be filed at this time." NONE OF THE PAPERWORK SAYS THAT CLAIMS HAVE TO BE FILED IN 5 DAYS!! I should have been informed by Capitol Courier or GlobalTranz that there was a time limit on insurance claims and all freight needs to be opened/unpacked within 5 days. I paid insurance so I would not have any problems if there were damages. My daughter said she only signed for receipt of the freight and not exclusion of damages. Where was that written? I have received absolutely no help from anyone at Capitol Courier. Will not recommend them or GlobalTranz. read more

EXTREMELY unreliable, unprofessional for shipping across state lines. I was given misinformation, promises about timelines not kept, phone calls and emails not returned for up to a week. They stood me up for an appt to get a quote on weight and size...never offered an apology. Constantly got the run-around. I was never able to get an estimate in writing...BIG BIG MISTAKE! The actual cost was more than DOUBLE what I was "verbally" quoted. I asked at least 4 times to get an invoice for the shipment. Didn't get one until after the things were shipped. And, my stuff sat in their warehouse for a MONTH before was shipped. I'm VERY disappointed in their service. I'm afraid to see the condition of my shipment when I receive in the state I live in now! I deal with customers every day in my business and I treat everyone equally and with the same respect whether they are a big customer or small. This company obviously doesn't do the same. A single star rating is more than what I want to rate this company. This company has no morals, no sense of ownership, and no courtesy. I had to call them every single day in a row for 10 days to schedule my furniture delivery. Every time I called them they take my name and number says someone will call me back but no one calls. At last one day I got a call and they hung up on me before I even answered the call. I called them back to only hear from them saying that they called me in error. I am still waiting for my furniture to be delivered - fingers crossed. read more
