They arrived at Costco exactly on time and did an expert job fulfilling everything I asked for. They even knew exactly how to disassemble part of the sofa in order to make it fit up the stairs (I would never have known then had I tried to move the couch myself). They even took the packing materials away for disposal!! Wow, what a huge benefit!! I could not have bought these couches without their expertise and help. First of all, Matt was great at scheduling, giving an estimate, and answering questions. But since he didn't have anything to do with the actual moving process...I can't really say it mattered. I moved from a one bedroom in west philly to a center city apartment- pretty simple. The guys showed up late ~ 20 minutes late. I met them in the parking lot of my building because they couldnt figure out how to park their MASSIVE moving truck on their own. I came down and they were smoking cigarettes next to their graffiti covered vehicle. It took them at least another 15 minutes to actually park and come up to my apartment...where they realized they forgot the dolly. So they went back to their truck and couldn't find it...because they forgot it. So now we are about 45 minutes past my start time and they begin moving things... My mom and I actually helped them bring boxes to the elevator to bring down because we were already so far behind schedule. The process would have been so much faster if they had not forgotten a dolly, and I would not have felt like I had to help because I was paying for them to carry one box at a time down my hallway. Matt had told me that the crew would be able to give me a ride to the new apartment, and when I asked them they laughed and said "ummm there isn't much room but if you don't mind smoking then fine" I hate smoking...so I got a cab. When I got to my new apartment they arrived more than 20 minutes after me...smoking again. I had asked Matt if I needed to get them a parking permit for my new street because I knew my location was zoned- he said no it was fine. Then of course the crew got a parking ticket and whined about that while they moved my stuff into the new apartment. They chipped the side of my dining room table and snapped the hanging wire on the back of a large piece of wall art. Nothing else was damaged. The whole day sucked. They were unprofessional and unprepared. I really don't enjoy paying people by the hour to smoke cigarettes. I called Matt towards the end of the process to let him know that I was displeased with the service, especially forgetting the dolly since I knew it added a lot of time to my move and required my mom and I to help. He tried to make things better by knocking a little bit off of my bill. But all in all the whole thing was terrible. I would NEVER use skybox again.

The movers were due to come at 3:00pm on Sunday. They called around 2:30pm to say that they were running late, approximately 15-20 minutes late. They eventually came at 4:00pm because there were tons of traffic. I was okay with it because they were straightforward and honest about it. Once they got here, they started moving the furniture that needed to be packed. My friend had an insane amount of furniture, that includes 2 beds, 3 couches, and 918273 drawers. (Okay not really but it felt like that). They were quick, professional, and efficient the whole time. Since they were working hard, and McDonald's was across the street, I grabbed them food and we took a break after loading all the furniture (I know I know, fast food is bad for you but it was across the street!). Once at the new place, I swear they performed a miracle or something. It was an enclosed staircase onto the second floor and whoever built the opening were not thinking straight because it was so damn small. The couches took forever to come up the stairs, and once it did, it took forever to get through the front door. For the third couch, they literally hoisted up over the railings in the front! I was amazed... and scared! They got everything in, the beds, couches, and 918273 drawers set to where we asked them to. They were very nice, very polite. Definitely did a solid job. I'm SO glad that my friend chose them to be his moving company because they definitely did not charge as much as other companies have quoted. But they still did just as good of a job, if not better, than those other companies would. If I had to move, definitely will call these guys! Shout out to Joe's crew !! To be honest almost all of them were fine... nothing went wrong and clearly we built a relationship if I used him so many times. The very unfortunate thing about this whole thing is on my last move (beginning of August 2023) he broke my big green egg and damaged my Peloton bike in transit. I didn't even freak out because he started off right... apologizing and saying he was going to take care of it. He hadn't broken anything else before so I tried to be nice and let him know we will figure it out end it'll be ok because I thought I could trust him. I didn't question him about it much until months and months went by without a single dollar or action and to be honest I was very lenient and understanding because like I said I've used him many jobs and I thought I could trust him. He told me his insurance was taking for ever, but he promised he would handle it. At the very end of October he let me know his insurance denied covering the claim, but he knew needed to pay me for my things that were damaged. He didn't pay me right away and once again I was as patient as I could be because of the relationship we built. On November 13th, over 3 months since the items were broken, he made his first payment. He made another payment November 16th. That was the last I've heard from him and he still owes me over $400. I have called and left voicemails, sent multiple texts over 2 weeks and still not a word from him. I work very hard for the things that I have and I paid him on time for all the jobs he had done. It's very unfortunate, disappointing and disrespectful to be treated this way not only after all the money and business I've sent his way, but to not to do the right thing whenever something goes wrong is not how things should be handled. I would've never expected him to treat me or anyone else like this especially with all the different interactions we've had, but it just goes to show you so many people rather not do the right thing no matter what you've done for them or how you've supported their business. I can no longer back Steven or his company up. I will no longer recommend them to anyone. I am also including pictures of the damage, pictures of what it costs to replace my items as screen shots of payments so you all know this is an honest review. Cirilo even went above and beyond, wrapping our furniture to protect it during the move. My other feedback is more related to the app/scheduling process. If you want to move an entire apartment, you would probably need to hire more buddies, since it seems that you get a buddy with a pick up truck, which is certainly not big enough for several pieces of furniture and boxes, that being said, the constraint within the app is that you can only schedule 1 buddy per move per BuddyTruk account, if you want to schedule more buddies for the same time frame, you have to set up fake accounts, this is a hassle - the desirable result would be to be paired with a buddy that has a large enough vehicle to transport all your items and perhaps request an extra helper within one single transaction. I would hire BuddyTruk again if I had a single trip in a pickup truck scenario.

All three movers were exceptionally polite (lotta Yes Ma'am's), efficient and careful. They definitely move large, heavy items "smarter not harder." Every piece of furniture was covered in a clean moving blanket, thoroughly wrapped in clear stretch wrap and moved with great care. The new house has a tricky staircase with 2 landings in the middle. The guys negotiated those angles and corners with expertise - they did not leave one scratch, scrape or dent anywhere in the house. When necessary, they took furniture apart and reassembled it, making sure I was happy with placement. I will hire Elite Star Movers if I ever need to move again.
