Wildly overpriced. Not particularly helpful. Luckily there's a UPS store at 34th and Lamar that's much better.

They started off moving very quickly, although understandably that pace slowed down throughout the day, it was a full two-story home, so I certainly didn't expect them to maintain that same speed the entire time. I appreciated their effort and tipped them very well at the end of the move. We moved to a different city, and our new home was undergoing renovations, so we weren't able to immediately unpack and inspect everything. Now that we're finally getting settled and unpacking, unfortunately we're discovering quite a bit of damage. Several pieces of our more expensive furniture have scratches and damage that were not there before the move. Even more disappointing, both our 82" TV and 55" TV were damaged during the move. I really wanted to leave a positive review because the crew themselves were friendly and seemed to work hard, but the amount of damage we're discovering is difficult to overlook, especially considering the value of the furniture and electronics involved. A moving company isn't just being trusted to move boxes from one location to another; they're being trusted to properly protect someone's belongings in the process. Unfortunately, based on what we're finding as we unpack, that part of the service fell short.

I had been the victim of a bait & switch mover and was forced to pay much much more than their not to exceed estimate. I was not allowed to talk to the owner. Horrible experience. No ghost owner, Seth is with you the entire move and working hard along with his crew. He even reminds them about proper body mechanics to keep them safe. Moving is never fun but Seth and his guys make it as nice as can be. I am going moving back to the Dallas area and hope Seth will be able to make my move for me. You can trust him and belongings were handled with care. Seth is always there to make sure all is well with your move and keeping his crew safe too.

While at the storage unit, they then also helped me repack half of it so I could get more in. The second time, I hired them again for their storage unit repacking skills for a second storage unit, where they saved me half the space! The third time they helped us move the big stuff when we finally sold our house and moved. The things that are nice about Seth and his crew are: They really know their business. They're reasonable in price and they work not only hard, but efficiently. They're pleasant, courteous, respectful, professional and at the same time, they are easy going. The guys get along and work very well together. They saved me from having to rent another storage unit thanks to their masterful storage unit packing skills. Items I thought might be an issue for them weren't. I kept waiting for a "but" or hesitation for one thing or scenario or another and there wasn't one. Not even for the rock wall in front of my old house, which other people had complained about. They didn't care if I worked right along side them. Whether you can afford them for an entire move or not doesn't matter, the level of professionalism and service is as high. They totally get budget concerns and will work within your budget. They work hourly, so set the hours and they will work within that. Seth is a straight shooter and doesn't mind questions, even repeated ones. Didn't matter how tired or stressed we were, these guys got it, didn't bat an eye and basically did all they could to make everything easier. For which I thank them greatly. :) All in all, each experience was very positive. I heartily recommend this company for your moving or storage unit repacking needs.

In my experience, this CubeSmart location is well maintained and the staff is attentive. I love the fact that my unit is climate controlled (the temperature inside seems to be kept in the range of high 70°s-80°, which is more than fine for my property to be stored in. I do appreciate the security (both surveillance cameras and office staff), as I had an issue with someone trying to gain access to my unit, and I received a phone call to alert me to the situation, and the perpetrator was kicked out of the facility right away! I will say that the price of a unit at this facility is quite high -- and my monthly rate goes up every 6 months or so-- but that's to be expected given the amenities and the south central Austin (78704) location. Like most storage facilities, there is not a dumpster for customers to use, which can be a bit of a burden if you're frequently moving a lot of property in/out. It should also be noted that a PIN number is required to enter the facility and the buildings, and also to exit the facility. Be sure to exit the property by closing time (10PM daily), or the gate will not open again until the following morning!

Two Men and a Truck South Austin

I needed to move from Austin, TX to McAllen, TX for a few months and decided upon Two Men and a…read moreTruck to help me transport my belongings. It turned out that the realtor (at BIGRealty, don't use them) didn't yet have a property during the first deadline which when I informed Two Men and a Truck, had no problems changing the date. We had literally gotten the property sorted out about 2 days before our lease expiring, and again...Two Men and a Truck had no problems changing things around close to the move-out date. Their staff was super friendly and made my move easier than the realtor did. The movers arrived maybe 30 minutes late (8:30a), but that's due to Austin traffic and that I was living downtown. Once they arrived, they introduced themselves. There was Summer, the driver..and Michael, who was pretty much the muscle (despite Summer carrying the heavier stuff up a flight of stairs ;-) ). They had quoted me 4 hours due to the elevators being the far side of the building, and still ended up doing it in only 3. The rate I was given was pretty damned reasonable for a long-distance transport, and they were up-front about everything. The held my belongings for a day while I made my drive down south, and showed up exactly on time in McAllen to unload my things. Both Summer and Michael turned out to be the ones to unload my belongings as well. They were able to unload everything in a very short time, even carrying my entire CD collection to the second floor. They had me initial to make sure that everything was off of the truck, double-checked that I didn't forget anything and then was off. I'm surprised at the number of bad reviews for Two Men and a Truck and I can only believe that some of the reviewers didn't bother to pack any of their things. This is my second long-distance move, the first one was from Florida to Texas which I did myself which resulted in me learning a lot about the things that can happen during a large move. If you're too lazy to pack your own things, make sure you get mover's insurance. Talk to your regular insurance company. There's a reason why this type of insurance exists. Fortunately, we didn't need it as we made sure that we didn't have anything loose/dangling like a $10 dryer hose as listed in some of the bad reviews. When moving, make sure you use stretch-wrap to hold things together as the truck will vibrate (go rent one at U-Haul so you can feel what your belongings have to go through), tape up glass (or better yet, remove glass to be packed separately), take apart things that can be taken apart, keep screws and smaller pieces in bags, and box your belongings up as if you really care about them. We vacuum-sealed all of our clothes so that they took up less space, which would've ended up slowing the move down but Summer was able to stuff things in various places in order to make less trips. At the end of everything, we literally had no damage to any of our belongings with Two Men and a Truck. Everything is in perfect condition and it was a 4-5 hour drive. Oh, and they also overquoted me so I ended up paying less than what I had expected to pay. Too awesome. My lease here in McAllen is only a few months, and I'm definitely going to call Two Men and a Truck again to see if they'll take my business when I move back. I actually thought that the movers would've been the hardest part of the move, but the issues w/ the realtor and the property itself have been the hardest. I'm definitely now a fan of Two Men and a Truck despite many of the negative reviews and will likely use them again without hesitation.

I understand that it's hot out and in no way is it acceptable that I was working harder and faster to move my belongings. Additionally, I was charged for 4.25 hours of work on top of the $160 travel fee? Why am I essentially getting charged for both travel and workers? Not to mention that your guys went to the wrong address for delivery at first so I'm getting charged for incompetence and slow workers? Also one of the guys took a 10min+ bathroom break at my new apartment. I get that nature calls and I also think it's reasonable to take breaks like that off my bill. Had I not been working as much as I was to move my stuff (both to the truck and from it) I would have had to pay for another 1-2 hours of labor which is absolute robbery. Please let me know what can be done to make this poor experience right. Tristen on 6/5: Hi Sean, I'm sorry to hear this. I will look into this and I'd like to follow up with you on Monday. Tristen on Wednesday, 6/11: Sean, do you have any photos or videos that show the crews inefficiencies? I am trying to corroborate this with the crew and dispatch manager but I don't have much to go off of. To follow up on the travel charge- that covers the time spent driving to the load location and back from the unload location, fuel expense, use of the truck and tools and equipment that we use during the move. ------- Pictures and additional text conversation included. Absolutely terrible actual service which matched the customer service. My favorite is where the team lead told me that they went to the wrong location and that it would be an hour to get to me despite me giving him the exact address and the apartment complex. I also gave them my address about 10 times when requesting and signing off on service so being charged for their inability to put in an address adds to the shi!show that it was to hire this company.
