I have been using the Ashburn store for more than 6 years and I have always found good service. They always have been helpful, courteous, and friendly. But today I left the store completely unhappy. Today is Monday, May 1 at 1:15 PM. I did not catch the name of the young man that assisting me. He was rude and discourteous. There were no customers in the store. I did not have the Amazon information handy. I had three items to return. The WIFi was slow and it took time to retrieve the Q codes of the first two items. But, I could not find in the Amazon email the third Qcode. I apologize a few times for not been ready and offered to wait. But instead he was dismissive and spoke rudely to me. This is the rudest mailing store in town. I've lived in Ashburn for 20 years and keep doing business here for convenience purposes only. The same employee is considerably rude. This past time, his encounter was particularly bad. (I think that we all know who I'm talking about.) A week later, my package appears in my mailbox because he didn't put enough postage on it. When I went back to the store, a different associate helped me, but did not offer an explanation/apolgy or sorry for the inconvenience. He slapped a few more stamps on the package and said it should be OK. At this point, my package will be two weeks late. Never again with this store. read more

Customer service today was really poor. I am not going to name the employee publicly but I left feeling like I had completely inconvenienced this guy. He was annoyed, and the ONLY words he spoke to me was to tell me I couldn't drop one of the things I brought with me. He did complete the other things I needed, much to his displeasure. Every time I go to the Post Office, I always feel like I am somehow inconveniencing the employees that work there -- just by asking simple questions (I would assume most people ask?), like what is the least expensive way i can ship a return, etc. The UPS store is more expensive, however Ben works there. Ben really is the main reason I go to this UPS store. It's not just that he's good at his job, he's genuinely a nice person. To give you an example: I was carrying 4 boxes and trying to open the door and having a really hard time doing it. Now, is it in the employees job description to open the door for customers? No. But if Ben is working, he will almost run to help open the door. UPS is very lucky to have Ben. I know I spend more money with them, just because he makes the whole experience more pleasant. And if I feel this way, I know there are others out there that feel the same way too. Honestly, whatever you're paying Ben, you should pay him more, give him a raise at least. Asking this to make sense to me: Has anyone sent USPS package from UPS Store in Ashburn using stamps?? I sent a package that weighed 5.2oz the cost of the stamp was $5.48 but the guy charged me $10. Only reason I found out the actual cost of the stamp was because I forgot to put my return address on the envelope and went back in to do that . When I asked the guy for the envelope he was very nervous and was trying to hide the stamp and that made me also look at the stamp. When I questioned the over charge his response was that this comes straight from corporate can someone please help me understand?? I love this UPS store. They are very responsive and thorough . I have stopped using USPS all together because they are so good, I don't have to wait, and the customer service is wonderful. I had a package damaged during shipment and I was quickly refunded the amount of the item and shipping. I absolutely can't stand sending packages out! However, this UPS location makes it as easy and pleasant as it can get. I was waiting patiently in line even though I had a prepaid label and box ready to go, etc. Other service providers would have left me in line, not even making eye contact, etc. This location was observant in checking the line proactively and asking us what we needed. I was then able to drop my package off to the side not slowing down the person in front at all and enabling me to leave asap. This may not seem like a big deal to some but it was a huge help for my day and especially at lunchtime when I didn't have a lot of time to ship something out. I come to this UPS Store often to drop off Amazon returns and ship other items every now and then. These guys may not have the friendliest demeanor, but you have to understand that they are not just taking your order. They are doing all the work and trying to process people as fast as possible. I was trying to mail 6 small products from my eBay page and they wanted to charge me $90 to simply put them in a box and tape MY printed labels on. So I told them I'd be right back, went down the street to CVS, bought a roll of packing tape and 6 padded envelopes for $16. Then the packing process (done by me) took about 15 minutes tops. That being said, $74 for 15 minutes of labor is preposterous! Do the math, ESPECIALLY IF YOU WORK THERE, because that kind of labor charge comes out to approximately a $120k salary. THIS is what robbery looks like. I would've gave 1 star but they took my packages right as they were closing at 7pm so, I thank you for that. read more

Tried to charge me $373 to ship a small box (think the kind of box that would hold a single bottle of wine) overnight to Chattanooga from Northern VA!!!! This charge includes almost $40 in packing materials, because the box that UPS shipped the item to me in wasn't sufficient to re-ship it in. It literally would have been cheaper to get on a plane and fly it there myself! Speaking to the owner only made the situation significantly worse, he was arrogant and totally unwilling to assist in any way. Nail in the coffin, Fedex around the corner got the same thing done without difficulty for $45. Stay far FAR away from this UPS store. The other reviews speak for themselves, and if I had read them first I never would have gone there. This is an independently owned operation that UPS needs to revoke the franchise from ASAP, go to Fedex or UPS online instead. read more

Wish I could give less than one star. We gave explicit directions on the delivery of our packages, and very little of that information was placed in the UPS order. The kid manning the register doesn't know what he's doing. We are out $800 and still do not have our packages. They refuse to help with this as does UPS. If you have to use a store like this, use your AMEX so you can dispute the charges when the job isn't properly done. If we would have used the Lansdowne package store, this wouldn't have happened. read more
