Union Kitchen never fails. Our fifth time here and once again the food and service was excellent. Menu has something for everyone and has always been prepared to the highest standard. After a long day of shopping with our masks on in the Katy Mills Mall and on our way back to Rosenberg, Honey Bear and I began hunting for prey! Union kitchen caught our eye, it looked very nice and clean from the outside and without even checking the reviews we decided to give it a try. We were seated immediately, Saturday around 5pm- we got there just in time because after we got seated, waves of people started to walk in. But it's a pretty big place and I didn't see any of them having to wait at the entrance for a table. Anyway, very elegant on the inside. I love restaurants where managers are walking around asking patrons how's the food as they themselves are busing tables! It says a lot about the management and the service and quality of the food you can reasonably anticipate. The menu was excellent, very organized in categories and not too overwhelming. We had the voodoo balls, the pork chop and the Tyler Pasta. Also ordered New Orlean's pastries to go. All the food was delicious and the ambiance there was delightful. read more

I just had an excellent lunch at Union kitchen. I had the union kitchen Burger which was enormous and yummy. My partner had the crab and tuna stack which was wonderful as well. The food deserved four stars but the service was a two at best. The host attempted to seat us at a table within six feet of another couple. It took a long time to get our cocktail order out because the "bar was backed up". When I asked for the password so I could read the code on the table to get the menu, the server didn't know the password and had to ask someone else. When I asked for their cocktail menu they didn't seem to know where to find one. Their specialty cocktail was all ice and very little cocktail. But the food was good. read more

Went around 1pm earlier today (Saturday) , table for 3 - hardly 4/6 other tables had patrons. All we ordered was regular brunch items , nothing custom. Food took 45 mins to arrive. Was missing condiments which took another two reminders to get. Food tasted fine. Was disappointed to wait for so long at a practically empty restaurant. read more

We decided to try out the new union kitchen in Katy , we had some trepidation because the reviews we just ok. Should have taken the reviews more seriously. The service was not good at all. Our server had a terrible attitude almost like our presence annoyed her. The food was sub par. The calamari started was good and so was the spinach dip but that's all. The steak medallions had the oddest raspberry sauce that did not pair well at all with the steak. I asked for medium rare and they came out well done. The steak with chimichurri had no flavor and the steak was flavorless as well. I know some people enjoy this but it's not my cup of tea. read more

Unfortunately wasn't a fan. Our server was okay. None of us loved our drinks. I had the pineapple jalapeño marg, it tasted watery. My husband had the orange dreamsicle, it has a harsh, bitter aftertaste. My mom liked her avocado toast and husband enjoyed his chicken and waffles. I thought the California Benedict was missing something, it was just okay. I really enjoyed the deviled eggs. read more

Let me start with a few visits with my husband, father and son. We ate there and fell in love with their Chicken & Avocado Sandwich and their Union Burger (my personal favorite). Those two meals prompted us to go back and try a few other meals on their menu. Their egg rolls, goat cheese, & calamari are some of our favorites. Their pistachio chicken, short rib & sea bass are undeniably some of the best dinners you're going to have in Katy! I host a moms group get together once a month at different restaurants here in Katy and chose Union for our Galentine's dinner. It was sooo much better than I could have expected! We had a group of 15 women and they gave us the back room. It was such an intimate and beautiful night with all the ladies the food was amazing and the service was impeccable! I want to host another party just to go back! I really love Union Kitchen for being so versatile. We go there a lot to have dinner and let our son play in the grass area. We can watch games with their amazing brunch on Sundays, listen to live music on Fridays/ Saturday's, and just enjoy an extremely good meal any day of the week. The food was terrible tonight. The salmon was rare inside. The risotto that came with the scallops was extremely salty. Service was good though - the server brought us a cup of soup for the undercooked salmon, and two cups of replacement risotto for the two extremely salty plates of risotto. My husband and I visited this location on a Friday night but unfortunately did not stay to experience the food. However, we waited for 10 minutes with absolutely no one even acknowledging us. It was not busy and 3 servers walked by us. One of them was going around picking up silverware from empty tables around us. We got up and walked out. As I slammed my menu down on the way out the door, the same server that ignored us while picking up silverware sarcastically said "Have a nice night" and laughed and whispered to another server as we walked out the door! He was a younger athletic built guy with shoulder length blonde hair. VERY disappointing on how we were treated. read more

My best friends and I enjoyed amazing food and service last night at The Union Kitchen. Wine Down Wednesday was their special and we enjoyed a half price bottle with our amazing entrees. Food was fresh and very flavorful. My friends all had the Boost Bowl with shrimp and i had the Greek wrap. We even got in right before happy hour ended and our amazing server, Marah got our quick martini orders in before it ended at 6pm. Fabulous service from Marah all night and fabulous food. We decided to try Union Kitchen based on their variety of dishes and the nice patio. I'm so glad we did! All of the staff were diligent about wearing masks which I really appreciate as a pregnant nurse. The waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. When we were first seated he was very busy so we did wait a few minutes to order but we received drinks right away. I ordered the Valentine's special, first course was ravioli and a cup of lobster bisque, entree was crunchy skin fish with crab meat and mango salsa, rice and roasted brussel sprouts. All of it tasted amazing! Very large portion so I had enough for lunch the next day. My husband ordered a Union Burger and could barely finish it but he made himself because it was so delicious! We ordered the skillet brownie with ice cream for dessert. Personally I would order it again but with the chocolate sauce on the side. It was so thick and rich that it made it hard to eat more than a few bites. We definitely will be back! I want to try the Shrimp and Grits and the drink menu this summer once I can drink again. read more

Terrible service! Literally ruined the experience. Came for brunch on Sunday. At the time there was maybe one other table in the section we were seated in. No cutlery was on the table we had to ask the busboy for it as he walked RIGHT past us with a hand full. We ordered a water and a decaf coffee. 4 tables would be sat and serviced before we got our water and coffee. We had to ask the hostess to assign us another server. The new server though nice made it clear she was in a rush and had tables of her own. She brought the coffee with no cream and sugar. The creamer followed about 5 mins later. At that point the already cold coffee was undrinkable. After being sat at 11:58 a party of 3 finally got its food at 12:44. There was no check back within "2 bites or 2 minutes" it was more like 8 mins after the food was dropped. A gentleman who appeared to be the manager made an appearance to deliver food to another table. Positive notes the live singer was enjoyable! But not worth being treated like a burden when you come to SPEND MONEY! read more

We've tried pickup a on two occasions. They forgot two meals the first time. We didn't notice until we got home. They sent us a voucher for a free family meal to say sorry which was great so we tried again today. We got to the car - thought we better check everything was there and they'd forgotten the steak for one of our salads. Something is clearly not right with their system. We've only been twice and they've messed up both times. So on to the food. It's ok. And that's a problem. Katy has some stiff competition. The kids enjoyed their pizza. The chicken parmigiana was pretty good. The salad was mediocre and the lost steak under cooked and sinewy. $10 each for thawed out Sara Lee desserts is not good value. We ordered 5 takeout meals and when we got home 2 of the meals were missing from the bag the gave us. We called and the manager advised that they were still at the restaurant and we could come back and get them however we asked just to be refunded which they said they would sort out. Anyway nearly a month later that hasn't happened so I am very disappointed as we ended up sharing the meals they included (not a great way to celebrate my husband's birthday!) but still paid for 5 meals.
