Tile
Rachel V.

I was kinda underwhelmed by the service here. I went in last week on a Monday morning- around 11am and there was one other shopper and two sales staff. No one seemed interested in helping me. It was my first time there and it was a large showroom and I didn't even know where to start. Some guidance would've been helpful. The salesman did tell me they could order a sample of there wasn't one I saw. In my browsing I noticed almost every piece I liked didn't have a sample there. The prices definitely seemed high ($35/square foot) for some porcelain tile. I understand some pieces may be unique but the prices maybe could be more competitive. It seemed like too much effort to have them order a bunch of samples just for me to take home so I left empty handed.

Before I started shopping here, I thought the prices would be too high. However, they are very competitive. The tile shop has a large selection of tile for flooring, backsplash, walls and etc. The sales rep Christian was personable and knowledgeable. I was originally going to order one style of tile and he pointed me in a more modern direction. I'm very happy with the customer service and delivery. Can't wait for the finished product to post a picture.

Albert Ankisibia helped me choose tile for a shower stall makeover. He is very knowledgeable and creative. The finished stall looks great! If you have a tiling project in mind, make an appointment with Albert. He is always smiling and an outstanding professional. Thanks, Albert!

The Tile Shop Springfield is the absolute worst. I have nothing but trouble with the Tile Shop. After a long delay, I spoke with the Tile Shop yesterday about delivery today. I was explicit about asking for the tile to be delivered to my garage in back. The Tile Shop assured me that the delivery guys would call prior to delivery and then put all tile in my garage. I was surprised by a text from the Tile Shop that "your tile is delivered." I went out to my front porch and it was sitting outside my door. 250+ lbs of tile blocking my door and porch. I cannot open my storm door. THREE (3) CALLS LATER to the manager and still no response. I have to chase them down and they don't care. Vague promises and the tile is still on my front porch. One of the boxes looks damaged. Unbelievably inept, exceptionally poor customer service. RUN DONT WALK AWAY FROM DOING BUSINESS WITH THE TILE SHOP IN SPRINGFIELD.

The Tile Shop is a wonderful resource of tile project ideas. The showroom floor is finished with different tiles and there are project samples throughout to inspire. The helpful staff can show you how to make your projects come alive and will explain all the necessary details. We were looking to replace our aging tile, and we found just the tile we were dreaming about after checking Home Depot and Lowers with no luck. The right amount of tiles were ordered and available for pick up by our contractor. We also replaced our floor heating system and there were a variety of new options to allow us to customize our floor project. The store manager, Jim P., was supremely helpful throughout the entire process. Highly recommend!

The tile shop is a medium to higher end store that offer lots of selections of tiles for all areas of your house. It's easy to find-it's right across the street from Springfield mall (next to Micheals), there is plenty of parking, and everything is laid out really well for people to browse for ideas. My husband and I have been here a few times, and never really needed an associate, but have been asked if we needed help a few times. My understanding is they pretty much let you browse at your own pace. This past visit we came with our contractor and picked out tile for my bathroom and no one said a word to us. For us that was fine, I'm sure for someone that actually needed assistance that would not have been. Our contractor ordered everything we needed and we had everything within a week. Construction took just under two and the end result is gorgeous. I'm very happy with the tiles we picked out.

The Tile Shop was great to work with on my latest kitchen remodel. Jafar was especially helpful in helping me purchase just the right amount of tile for the job. The tile looks amazing. I'm so glad I went with this company.

great tile selection

These people do everything they can to drive off customers. They refused to provide an accurate tile sample or a quote.

I asked what cabinet distributors they used and she couldn't give me a name, she said they use many. I then asked what the difference would be between getting a particular cabinet color (not knowing what my options were or what would be in stock without a company name), and she said custom vs semi custom are just words and that it's all pretty much custom so it wouldn't make a difference. Upon asking a few more questions, she proceeded to tell me "I'm not sure if you saw, but our company has almost a 5-star review and that's almost unheard of". I didn't know what to make of it, but considering what some of their reviews mentioned, I felt as though we were going to get the same treatment. She said she'd get back to me by Friday with a quote and a visual of the kitchen updates-- it was Tuesday that day. We gave her a call that Friday afternoon to follow up and she insisted that the cabinet company was taking a while and that she'd get back to us by Monday the latest if not over the weekend. We waited and got nothing so my husband called her the following Wednesday without ever hearing from her. She continued to reassure us that she hasn't forgotten about us and that she'd get back to us by Monday for sure. It's now been 21 days and we got no updates or any communication from them. It's clear that this is a pattern for them and I'd advise someone looking to get work done by someone reliable and honest to look elsewhere.

This is a two-fold review. 8/2013 $10K spent on tile and grout for a master bedroom, master bath, entire kitchen, living area, laundry room and half bath. Worked with the most amazing designer, Ana Laserna. So many incredible choices i wished i had 10 bathrooms and bedrooms to decorate (my budget said otherwise). Still, this was a very sizeable spend for me. I was beyond thrilled with my choices, thanks to Ana. Service, response time, quality and pricing - all outstanding. 2/2019 A sizeable part of my master bath shower grout on the floor and walls had changed from the "Light Smoke" to WHITE. Couldn't figure it out. No amount of cleaners would fix it. On 2/2, I called Mosaic Tile in Chantilly and the most knowledgable woman, Jen, answered the phone. I had all my original receipts (yes, one of those and it has been a blessing) and described my dilemma. She knew immediately what had happened and knew that the Cement Grout Glaze Remover would fix it. She was so helpful and Mosaic Tile is fortunate she works for them. Unfortunately, driving to Chantilly from Old Town is like a full day trip. Jen struck gold again. There is also a Mosaic Tile in Alexandria, 15 minutes from me. She even went into the computer and saw they had two in inventory. Off i flew, since they closed in 30 minutes. Well, i learned WHY my grout had turned white. My lousy contractor ( who will remain unnamed becuase I still have issues with them, five years after the fact) put too much water in the grout and this caused it to discolor. Didn't surprise me they had made the mistake. Super Bowl Sunday. Time to test this out on a portion of the shower floor. I've attached a picture of my "before" floor. Hopefully i will return within a week and post an "after" picture.

I have gone back and forth in…read moremy mind on whether I should post this but I don't want another family to have to deal with what I've gone through. This will be a long review, my biggest takeaway is that if you are on a timeline, do not use them. We spent approximately $35,000 on goods and an additional $17,000 on kitchen cabinets which is a lot of money to us. We are a family who has been saving for a few years to build our forever home. I knew I was paying a premium on goods and that I was being charged more for the goods than other places but I did it because we were on a timeline with our move and thought that they would provide us great customer service. That did not happen. We also started the process from another state and were assured that once I picked everything, they would manage it. Before I get into the timeline issue, i was extremely frustrated by the all around poor customer service. I had to deal with a Mr. Joe Hunter on 2 occasions during this fiasco and he was rude and extremely condescending. I would never speak to someone the way Joe spoke to me on the phone. Additionally, our sub contractor was also treated pretty poorly on numerous occasions which I did not like. We purchased our house in February so that we could start renovations to move in June 1st. We hired a contractor who has also screwed up our timeline pretty badly but this isn't about him. Our contractor linked me in with Janelle who is the designer we used. I flew in on March 19th to start the process and again on April 6th to finish the process. We went over my timeline on both meetings. We are renovating 3 bathrooms, our kitchen, and purchased all new floors. None of our stuff was ordered until the first week in June. When I went in to speak to Joe and Janelle about it they completely blamed the contractor. I agree that again a lot of it was on him but Janelle regularly sent me emails and it would have been really nice as a customer if she had given me a heads up that none of my stuff had been ordered. We are still waiting on a bulk of our order and no updates at all. They were supposed to send someone over today to measure our vanity so that the counter top could be ordered. That did not happen. I have zero complete bathrooms, no kitchen and zero communication from Mosaic. Pictures of my unfinished bathrooms and kitchen. Premium pricing for a non-premium service. I am so disappointed by all of it.

All the other stores in the area only stock 4"x36" or 6"x60" or 72" (Floor&Decor, The Tile Shop, Home Depot). I found a place that would go custom size, but they needed a week to do it. I literally needed "now," and couldn't wait without delaying the flooring installation. When I called Mosaic, the customer service representative listened and said they had just what I needed. Since I live just 2-3 miles away I went immediately. Upon my arrive I simply introduced myself and was presented the threshold I needed--4"x48". I was promptly on my way feeling very successful that I was able to find Mosaic, who saved the day. I'll certainly be giving Mosaic more opportunities in future projects
