I love how our car is weighed when we pull in, and after we choose rocks and place them in the car, it is weighed again and we pay by the pound. Yesterday I went for some bags of small rocks, and while I was walking around, I found a pallet of pieces shaped like books. I took one, and was told it is sold as part of a small pallet, so I took it inside to ask about it. The lovely man inside did tell me that it was part of a pallet, but when I mentioned that I wanted to paint it as a book, he paused and then said, "You can have it." I should have waited to write this till I finish the piece, but I decided to write now to show how I appreciate his kindness. I will take a photo when I do complete it and sent it. Thank you Sislers. I am most appreciative.

The guys doing the work down below and across the bridge and friendly and helpful. The front desk team is rude and unprofessional. That sentiment is pretty consistent from what I've read. Last year, I bought some items from Sheets. I called regarding a problem I had, and they described…read morea solution I liked. I drove 30 mins. to see them, and if the solution would work. No one else had a solution, though several tried to convince me to do it their way with their solution. I was happy with Sheetz, so ended up spending $275. Everyone was nice, someone gave me a "thumbs up" and a smile for my Pink Floyd tee shirt. They helped me load my car with some bulk items. Fully above-average experience -- one I'd do again with no reservations. This past Thursday, I called for more custom items. They said they'd order it, so I purchased by credit card. They called me first thing Friday (the next day), saying I could pick it up. Wow! But I worked late, and didn't follow through. They called again first thing Saturday to see if all was ok, and that they'd be open until noon Saturday (today) if I wanted to get the order. I didn't even know they were open on Saturday's! I went to pick up, everyone was very nice. Since I didn't pick up on Friday as I'd indicated, they stored my stuff safely. I love hardware stores -- and they have a ton of stuff I don't get to see at HD/big box. I asked a couple questions, they gave me some great ideas. I didn't purchase extra goodies, but they ended up helping me get my order out to my car. When I got home, I noticed that my invoice had a hand-written thank you note on it. This comes across as fan-boy, but I'm not affiliated with this place and I don't think I'm being over-the-top. I will still buy a handful of screws or a random 2' x 4' from the big box store that is 5 mins from my house. But if I need something substantial, and help understanding my options and how to choose the right level of quality for my job, I'm going to drive 30 mins. to Sheets.

When others were all pitching a kitchen island, she understood we were happy with a peninsula design, and paid attention to the limited space and work areas based on our small kitchen. She made suggestions and redrew the plans to address our own ideas and questions. There was a great back & forth dialogue on what we envisioned. She encouraged us to take our time and explore all the different choices available. Katie eliminated a lot of the decision fatigue that happens with having to make so many choices. Katie never pushed, just made helpful suggestions. She stressed there was no rush. We chose Cabinet Discounters over other companies/designers because Katie listened. She looked at our existing kitchen and understood what we wanted and needed. She focused on work spaces and areas we would dedicate to specific tasks, like a coffee bar. We love our kitchen! And the colors! Thank you Katie and all the great work crews at CD!

As you can see from the photos, our kitchen is falling apart. Cabinet Discounters used the wrong grout, so it continues to crumble. Our kitchen needs to be gutted...again, due to the extremely poor quality of work provided by Cabinet Discounters. Their customer service is terrible, and they have yet to respond to my outreach.

We worked with Nilay in this process and it couldn't have been smoother. I contacted VM&A in late…read moresummer after our realtor recommended them for just countertops. I sent her the measurements and she gave me a quote. We went out at the start of Sept on a Saturday to look at their slabs of granite and very quickly chose one. Nilay never tried to upsell at all but answered all my questions about finishes. (We went with a leathered texture and love it!) Once we picked our slab, Nilay scheduled the measurement guy who came the following Monday. The installers came the following week and it was in beautifully. It's perfectly level and the seam is smooth and unobtrusive. We are very happy with it! (Especially now that I'm finished with tiling.) You may find a better price elsewhere, thought I think VM&G is competitive, but I really appreciated their responsiveness, quick turnaround, quality of work, and willingness to work with my very specific needs (save cabinets, close gaps, no granite backsplash, etc.).

Bottom line: excellent work, good selection, above average customer service, and reasonable cost…read more We were prioritizing for speed of work at a reasonable cost and Flooring America fit the bill. Vin, our sales representative, was extremely responsive. He was able to come to us the morning after we called (less than 24 hours) to see the space and provide flooring samples and a cost estimate, and the installation team was able to start work a week later. There was a minor delay and extra costs due to extra work needed for leveling the subfloor before flooring installation, but the work was still done quickly. There was unfortunately some stains/residue left on some furniture in the room but when we called about it the team made sure to clean it before finishing the job. Communicating with the various staff for sales, installation, and billing takes some tracking, but they are all generally responsive and coordinated. My only critique is that the pricing was a little unclear at first and I had to follow up to request an itemized estimate. Due to the extra costs we ended up paying the high end of our quote, but it was still within the estimated range. Overall, we were happy with the work and would recommend this company.

Ignored Certified Letter, Left Home Damaged & Incomplete…read more If you are considering Flooring America in Fairfax, BEWARE. We paid them over $40,000 for a major installation and were left with unfinished job, poor workmanship, and complete stonewalling from management. After our sales point of contact Yamah stopped responding to calls and texts, we visited and called the store repeatedly. This is when we discovered after months of Yamah making excuses, he retired without passing on our file. Every employee promised management would reach out. No one ever did. Desperate for a resolution, we sent a Certified Letter via USPS directly to store management outlining critical issues: two uninstalled vanities, uninstalled closet doors in two rooms, unstable kitchen cabinets, missing toe kicks, work quality issues, and dangerous trim undercuts. They ignored the certified letter entirely. No call, no email, no effort to fix their mistakes. They show total disregard for their customers and their own contractual obligations. Save yourself the stress and hire a contractor who stands behind their work.
