WE WENT FOR LUNCH ON A MONDAY. (My birthday!) A BEAUTIFUL clean & friendly restaurant!! "Hedy" so?…read more(pronounced like the country HAITI) was so much fun, very friendly, accommodating, & was super helpful in explaining the menu!! The OCEAN ISLE BOWL has arroz verde which she described as having cilantro & spinach blended fine which eliminates the distinctive flavor many dislike! (My son & husband think it tastes like soap.) She brought a small serving of it out for us to try before we ordered. IT WAS SOOO YUMMY!!!! All of us stepped outside of our comfort zone & ordered something "new & different" from our "Mexican go to choices". ALL OF US WERE VERY PLEASED. My son & I had the OCEAN ISLE BOWL, hubby had the shrimp fajitas, my daughter-in-law the Maya bowl, I also ordered the Mexican street corn. Restaurant has a full tequila bar and a nice section of bourbons too. WE WILL RETURN!!

It is on the pricier side but the portions are very generous- their lunch menu is a bit less pricey if you want to try it out for a bit cheaper than at dinner. My friends and I got one of the bowls "emperador" and the ranchero tacos - chipotle marinated tacos. We started w the pineapple guac and it was to die for. Food was soo good I had to get take out from there the next day. Service is good and friendly - food came out fast and hot. Ambiance is very much an upscale Mexican place but cozy too. I also enjoyed my food w a nice strawberry marg w no salt on the rim.

Such a fun hang out spot! Came with my sister and some of her coworkers on a Wednesday night for…read moresome drinks and arcade games and had a blast with many laughs. The beer and cider selection is outstanding and it's so fun to try as many as you like. You pour!!! It's like a self-serve frozen yogurt place for brewed beverages. You get an aluminum mug you keep and a wrist band that tracks your pouring for the bill. As you pour, you see how much that drink costs and how much you have spent so far. Different selections have different prices. The band will allow up to 48 oz to be dispensed before you have to check in with the bartender to reactivate the band. My sister and I shared a band. You tap the band and then can pour as little or as much as you want in your mug. I tried eight different selections, just pouring an ounce or two for each. Flavor adventure! There's also wine on tap up on the top floor. The upstairs seating by the wine bar is better for conversation (less noise than downstairs). They also have beer bottles and cans in a cooler alongside some juice and pop (soda/coke) options. They also have the largest bar in Shalotte with many spirits. On top of all of this, there's darts, old school Pac Man and other vintage games, pinball, skee ball, basketball, and a claw machine. They cost money, but you can pay with your smart watch or phone's credit card function or with bills. Ping pong is free and has good space around it for a lively game. If you're hungry, you can order from Smoked or Wing and Fish Company which are both next door and will deliver your food to The Pour House. We had a great time. This place is worth checking out.

This place blows. Went there and the bar tender was terrible and rude. I ordered drinks anyway…read moreincluding the way overpriced beer and some food from next door too. The food was not even close to being any kiind of good (fish and chips) even the tarter sauce was bad. The beer was flat and the bartender was as cold as Sunday morning in bangor maine. Dropped about $150 in an hour and a half. Terrible experience and would never waste my money there again -0 stars

My family lives on the island so I've been coming to Drift for years. It's a bit pricey, but you…read morecan tell they use high quality ingredients and whoever curated the menu put a lot of time into it. The avocado toast, the veggie breakfast burrito, the coffee cake, the smoothies, and the iced black amber are my go to's and they never miss. The service is quick, even though I know they get crazy busy during the summer. As someone who understands service/cafe biz, I will always give leniency to workers who are busting it during high volume seasons. The people who don't understand that a wait will be expected when you have one good coffee shop on an island that hosts thousands of people every summer are dense. Be kinder to your service workers, people. The most recent time I visited Drift, I was excited to try the Acai bowl. After I ordered, I was told that unfortunately they were out of Acai. They refunded my money and I ordered a smoothie instead. I was ready to pay for my smoothie when the employee told me the smoothie was on the house since they were out of Acai. Great customer service. I've been visiting Ocean Isle since there were rinky-dink water slides in operation across from what is now Drift. It's been wonderful to see a successful, quality coffee shop on the island.

We chose Drift based on Yelp reviews and the menu choices available…read more It's a little coffe shop with a limited, but thoughtful, menu. The coffee was a good, bold brew. Mr. And I both ordered the market bowl. Quinoa, sweet potatoes, avocado, tomato, and a spring mix w a fried egg on top. It was beautiful! Then we bit into it. The sweet potato was barely on the brink of being frozen. The Quinoa was also cold...not just room temperature, but ice-cold! Avocado was way too cold as well. So, you can imagine what this did to the beautifully cooked egg... yep - turned it cold in a heartbeat. Really off-putting to bit into. Mr. went back inside and asked if they had a microwave to heat it up and the 'workers' just said that was they way it was supposed to be. Mr. tossed the entire thing in the trash and simply said "well, it's disgusting". You would think there would be a simple offer to heat it up, or some kind of remedy for the situation. They didn't give a crap. I'm pretty sure they flipped us the bird on the way out. Nice.
