If you're in Ocean Isle Beach, FEAST OIB is an absolute must-visit! Everything we ordered was outstanding. The crab cakes were packed with flavor, the shrimp burger was truly one of a kind, and the surf & turf with the filet and perfectly pan-seared scallops was exceptional. The mashed potatoes deserve a special mention, they were unbelievably good! The cocktails were just as impressive, especially the Mexican Mule and the Espresso Martinis. First experience with this restaurant was enough to make me NEVER go back. Lied to before we ever walked in the door about wait times over the phone. We left a diff restaurant with an hr+ wait bc this place supposedly only had a 20-30 min wait. We arrived, checked in and were told when one specific table leaves that we could have their table. There were other open tables but told they didn't have the staff to serve them. So we waited 30 min. and that table did leave on time. However, during that time at least 2 or 3 other parties came to the restaurant and were sat in those empty tables. We were told they had prior reservations AND that apparently they had someone already coming to fill the table we were originally promised. We could wait another 30-45 min for someone else to leave OR sit our 6 adults and 1 child separately at two high back booths with no contact. If it had been my decision I would have walked out immediately. No customer service by host or manager who came to hear it out. The rest of my party was too hungry to wait or go somewhere else so they sat separate and ate. I refused to give them my business and never will. VERY POORLY MANAGED and it obviously starts at the front of the house. My wife had the apricot salmon ($28) its was extremely bland. My 5 yr old son had shrimp and fries ($14!!) which were extremely mediocre at best. I've had better at Culver's. Restaurant looks poorly organized. Needs a renovation, and OBVIOUSLY some new staff who know how to provide customer service in a service industry. Ambiance was like a dive bar trying to serve food to survive. We specifically chose Feast OIB because they accepted reservations On Monday, we made a reservation for Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. and even received this confirmation text from Yelp, which we accepted and added to our calendar (see screenshot). We arrived for our reservation only to find the restaurant closed on Wednesdays. Since our reservation didn't actually exist, we had to scramble for another dinner option and ended up waiting over an hour elsewhere. If the restaurant is closed, the reservation system should not allow bookings or send confirmation texts. This created a frustrating and completely avoidable experience. FEAST OIB is a great little spot located in the small downtown area, about a mile before the bridge to the beach. It was only a 4-minute walk from our rental, and with all the good reviews, we had to check it out. When we first walked in, the vibe gave old-school seafood buffet energy, the kind you'd expect at a beach town. But don't let the look fool you. The food was good! It wasn't very busy, aside from a big group and a couple other tables, but we were there early-ish 6pm. We snagged seats at the bar. We tried a few local beers and chatted with a local who gave us the scoop on some fun events happening that weekend. I had been craving crab legs and ended up going for the Seafood Platter Extravaganza. When I ordered, the server said, "The Extravaganza? You go girl!" I laughed and asked if it was really that big, and she told me it was enough for two people. Naturally, I had to try it for myself. Honestly, when it came out, it wasn't quite as extravagant as I had imagined. It was definitely enough for one person, but not for two. I only left behind a cob and a couple taters. The crab legs were flavorful, cooked just right, and generous in portion. The lobster tail was also delicious, though a bit small for something billed as extravagant. The shrimp was fantastic and the cocktail sauce was packed with flavor. It came with some solid veggies to round it all out. My partner ordered the local favorite, the shrimp burger. We had never heard of one before and had questions. I honestly thought it was going to be a regular burger with shrimp on top. Nope. It was made entirely of shrimp, some pureed, some chopped into chunks, and formed into a patty. And let me tell you, it was delicious. We loved it so much, we made our own shrimp burgers when we got home. The onion rings were also super crunchy and fried to a perfect golden brown. We would absolutely go back to FEAST OIB to try more dishes... or just order the exact same thing again! Highly recommend for a laid-back spot with solid seafood. read more

The service was okay. My family ordered a shrimp boil and it looked like they microwaved it. It came out bland and had almost no seasoning and incredibly dry. Even the other patrons said their food came out over cooked. A cluster of crab was 16 dollars and it was the smallest crab we have ever seen. They should be ashamed to call it a "gourmet" restaurant. The only thing gourmet about the restaurant was the ambience. It was 160 dollars for 4 people. No napkins, no silverware, and they didn't offer any. To say we are disappointed is an understatement. We have never left a review but we had to share our experience so no one else had to suffer through that meal. In this economy, everyone should steer away from this restaurant for the sake of their wallet and their tastebuds. We gave this a try on a whim - it was just "ok", and for those prices... not sure ok is good enough. Restaurant was clean and tidy, and service was good. The salmon was fine. Second time coming down to the island and second time at this awesome restaurant. I love it because it's very nice but casual and so family friendly. You can go and eat and drink at the bar and end up meeting some wonderful friendly people. The feel the menu has something for everyone and everything I have tried was absolutely delish. Went with a larger group, 5 adults and 2 children. 4 of us had seafood dishes , 1 had a burger and kids had chicken sandwiches. The seafood was cooked well, the burger was "ok" and the kids both left their chicken sandwiches almost untouched - both were fried to the point of cardboard. Service was slow... several empty tables - we had to remind the waitress when we were waiting on drinks. One never came, since it didn't get out on the bill we stopped asking for it. The ambience is ok. I think it's an old shoney's building so it's fairly distinctive. Nothing super special. One things about this place is it is noisy. There were two larger groups , once particularly loud, which is their right to be , but I felt the room amplified the effect making it so we could hardly hear each other. There are several TVs so kids remain occupied.... Small kids should do fine. Ok for families - I wouldn't consider this a date place. I see many 5 star reviews - so give it a try , maybe you'll hit on a good night. We will keep looking for a goto restaurant in the area. read more

We tried this place for the first time. Our party of seven were mostly pleased with their food. We were all pleased with our server, Chelsea! The service was on point the entire meal. We never wanted or waited for anything. The chicken bacon ranch sandwich was really good. The burger was great. The buffalo chicken sandwich was good. The mac and cheese side was memorable and served in small cast iron serving bowls. The only thing that wasn't great was the chicken parm sandwich. The chicken was like a frozen breaded patty that was heated up, placed in a bun, and topped with spaghetti sauce. The patty was't warm in the center. I Should have ordered a burger. read more

The burgers are amazing. Single or double, half pound patties. Cooked to order. It's pink or no pink, and they are juicy. They have an electic list of toppings from Doritos to sautéed mushrooms. Yes, Doritos. I opted for good ole lettuce, tomato, mayo, and pickles. It was delicious. It's an extra fee for sides, fries, etc. One suggestion, warm the bun or toast it on the grill. The bun was cool to touch, which took away a bit, but the burger was still good. I had the burger only since I enjoyed the Buffalo chicken dip appetizer. It was spicy, and the tortilla chips were ample. The chips were thick. Couldn't tell if housemade or not, but held they up to the dip. They have a full bar, Coke products, and iced tea. A must have for my first day at any ocean are crab legs. We didn't feel like driving too far so stopped in here and soooo glad we did. At our annual friends beach trip, we wanted to take a break from cooking. We didn't want to go out to dinner and spend $50-$100 each so we tried the to go take/bake Feast platters. The pickup was so easy we just ordered a day in advance and picked up the food a few hours before making it. They gave it to us in big metal to go containers with easy instructions on top. The chicken enchiladas were delicious with corn tortillas and the chicken scampi was buttery yummy. Plus it was less than $30/per person so it saved us money from going out to eat. I would HIGHLY suggest their take and bake. PRO TIP: locals can get 10% off with home owners association card too. read more

There were a couple of small glitches and they were out of appetizer we wante by d to order but overall it was a great experience the food was tasty my husband had the low country shrimp boil and I had the seafood platter extravaganza you can sub your sides which tells me the food was not in-fact boiled together but they did season everything well. I substituted the mushroom risotto for my potatoes but the server forgot to put it in that way so they brought the mushroom risotto a few minutes after our food was delivered and man was I glad I didn't tell them I would be fine with out it. The risotto was perfect creamy not over done and the amount of mushrooms were not over powering but there were enough to give it the right amount of flavor. If we go back I may get the lobster risotto it was just that good. The sever was nice and attentive but not overly intrusive and apologized for her mistake which I hardly ever see happen. 4 stars for the few glitches but don't let that keep you from trying it. read more

We order from here every year while at the beach, (we typically get the low country shrimp boil) their meals are delicious and so easy to pop in the oven and bake for 30 mins. Their cranberry walnut Salad is delicious too! This past week, I ordered online on a Saturday, not knowing they were closed that day, the owner went in and prepared our meal anyway!! We had reasonable expectations going into this dining experience; however, those expectations were quickly dissolved over the course of the evening. we arrived towards the end of the dinner rush, most of the people had cleared out by the time we ordered our food, we were seated quickly, but didn't see a server for 15 min after being seated. She did apologize for the wait, which we appreciated. We ordered drinks and food a the same time, as we had had plenty of time to decide what we wanted while we waited. we then waited about 45 min for our food. During that time, most of the restaurant had cleared out, people who had gotten there after we did had been served, eaten, and left, and we didn't see our waitress once, and the party was of like 8 people, no excuse at all, once they had left we still waited for 15 to 20 min for our food. . . So at this point, we had been there for at least an hr.. To add to the frustration, our waitress along with the rest of the dining staff were regularly seen chatting and sitting by the front door having a good old time, and were minimally seen interacting with guests. Once our food finally came it was mediocre at best, both my wife and son felt sick after eating for little while. Someone other than our waitress ended up coming to grab my plate as it had been sitting at the end of our table for 10 min. Then again, someone other than our waitress came and asked if we wanted to go containers. We promptly asked for the check, and confirmed at that point that we were going to be paying over 100$ for terrible service, a terrible experience, and mediocre food at best. Severely disappointed. Feast OIB is located at the roundabout in Ocean Isle. They have multiple concepts but the primary one is meals-to-go, prepared fresh on the premises. Since they recently opened (March 2021) they are still finalizing selections for the permanent menu, but have a wide variety of protein and vegetable combo offerings. Families on vacation or retired couples who don't want to do a lot of cooking will love this! They offer meals in serving sizes for 2 to 12 people. If you have a larger group, or want a specific meal, call and order - they'll be glad to prepare it for you. They also offer deli salads and sandwiches. Today I ordered a turkey sandwich and they gladly personalized it to my taste (not spicy). I opted for the potato salad as my side and the freshness of the potatoes was evident, not rubbery as often happens in restaurants. The cranberry, walnut, and goat cheese salad had very fresh lettuce. The staff was friendly and very helpful as I navigated their menu which was new to me. I hope Feast OIB will enjoy a long life serving the area of Sunset Beach, Ocean Isle, and Holden Beach. read more
