Sesame seared tuna and carrot /sweet potato mashed.

Wowza. What a cool restaurant. Served as a Methodist church since 1885. The inside is gorgeous. Dined with 3 other family members. We were greeted with delicious corn bread by our server Joanne, who said she has been at Parson's for 26 years. We enjoyed the sesame seared tuna with soy, ginger, wasabi, apricot glaze, toasted sesame seeds and pickled ginger, and the Parmesan encrusted chicken with shrimp, sun-dried tomatoes, capers and lemon butter sauce. Shout out to Joann for her great service. She kept us laughing. Parson's has won awards from Wine Spectator for their incredible wine offerings. When in Little River, make sure to check this place out.

I came here for someone's birthday and the service and food were both phenomenal! We had a great time and all dishes were fantastic!

Ok ...Here's the deal we had a "decent" meal. Environment was very nice. Very nice place. Matthew did a really good job. So why only 2 stars. Well food was good, probably above average for a regular restaurant. Below average for the pricing. Appetizers were: Sesame Sered Tuna (very good) Prince Edward Island Mussel(very bad) Savery Wild Mushrooms plate ( not even sure what to say about this, maybe a good side for a burger) We had the Pork Wiener Schnitzel (good) The Sauteed Panko Encrusted Flounder(good but a littled burned) The fish of the day (good) The scallops (good ... but too salty) Pan Sered Duck Breast(good but pretty fatty) Salmon (good) Sorbet (highlight or the entire meal) Now why they earned 2 stars instead of 3. I told Matthew that over half the Mussels were bad. No apologies, no manager, no offer of a free coffee or anything. VERY POOR BUSINESS thinking. Everyone makes mistakes, it's how you handle those that separates the MEN from the BOYS. In short, Service was great. Food was above average for a regular restaurant, Below average for the pricing. Price was way high. May return, but probably not too soon. Guys! You're missing the goal post by a few inches! Pull your stuff together.

My wife and I came here for our birthday (we share the same birthday). It's been about two or three years since we've been to The Parson's Table. If you've never been here, it's a very unique restaurant. It used to be an old Methodist church and maintains much of decor. There are numerous stained glass windows including the large one in the main dining room from the old Baptist Church in our town of Mullins. Our server, Joanne, was fantastic and as friendly as can be. My wife ordered the Prime Rib which was both flavorful and tender. Absolutely delicious. I ordered the special which was Triggerfish cooked in a beautiful sauce that contained delicious sun dried tomatoes. Loved it. We love this place definitely need to come back more often.

This place is so charming. The wood and stained glass were beautiful together. I hate I did not get any pictures of the inside. We started the Pan Seared Shrimp (Maple, ginger and soy glazed shrimp with wilted spinach). The shrimp was delicious. The spinach was so so. They bring out a basket of cornbread. Very good to this southern girl! Our waiter, Josh, was very nice and helpful. I like to ask for recommendations and he gave me his honest opinion on my two choices. I went with the special, Blacked Grouper with Bacon Aioli over Cheddar Grits. The side was a squash, zucchini, carrot medley. This dish was divine. The fish was cooked perfectly and the bacon aioli was a great flavor addition. The cheddar grits were delicious with the grouper and cooked correctly. My husband had the NY Strip with the vegetable medley and fingerling potatoes. I had the NY Style Cheesecake for dessert, very creamy. My husband had the Crème Brulee. It was very good, just a bit smaller than I am used to seeing. We will definitely visit again. I have to try the Parmesan Encrusted Chicken with Shrimp.

What a pleasant experience and McKenzie (our beautiful and talented waitress) definitely added to the Ambiance. Having a special dinner is often the highlight of our annual trip to Myrtle Beach. Our group of 4 were in agreement that this was definitely the best meal of the day from salad to dessert. This would be the best place to celebrate a special event for sure. Do yourself a favor and request Mckenzie.

I was invited for my birthday dinner. Not the type of place I would pick for myself. It's a renovated church into a restaurant. The stained glass windows were beautiful. The tables were so close, felt like we were packed in. Also had a banquet feel based on the paper tablecloths and basket of cornbread and crackers. The cornbread was warm and delicious! We got a house salad with dressing, again, felt like banquet service. I ordered the NY strip with fingerling potatoes and green beans. The steak was large and tasty. Cooked to perfection! There was only a small portion, sadly. For dessert we got the apple pie, which was warm and amazing!!

Lovely meal at the Parsons Table. The only knock is that the service took a LONG time. We waited for an hour just to have our salads served and almost another hour just for our entrees. Besides all that, the meal was superb! The restaurant is an old converted church from 1885 with so much charm. There's stained glass and many features that have lots of history here. The floors creek and this was quaint and rustic. I enjoyed a lovely meal of scallops and shrimp with mushroom gravy, sweet potato mash and green beans. The salad they serve is good. They only have a delicious vinegarette for dressing but I see why. It's sweet and tangy. All in all our dinner was delish and I would definitely return.

    Salmon is a large portion!

My husband and I visited The Parson's Table with family to celebrate our sister-in-law's birthday while visiting the NMB area. The restaurant is located in a beautiful old church with stained glass windows. There was plentiful parking in their attached (paved) lot in front of the restaurant. Every table gets a basket of crackers with a (chive?) cream cheese spread, and cornbread with whipped butter. The cornbread was incredibly moist, served warm, and was outstanding! Each entree also gets a nice house salad with their vinaigrette dressing. My husband had the pork chop with fingerling potatoes, and I had the salmon with the leek and garlic mashed potatoes. Meals are served with a vegetable of the day--green beans in our case. Portions are generous, and I couldn't eat my entire meal. My husband especially enjoyed his pork chop, which was an inch thick, fully cooked, and yet still very juicy. My salmon was also fully cooked, and moist. I enjoyed the accompanying lemon butter sauce. Their prices are comparable to other fine dining restaurants in the area. And the service is very good, even though we had to wait a bit longer than usual for our entrees because we were behind some larger tables. Even so, we'll likely return if we are visiting with family again.

Very good food, drinks, and service. My filet was cooked perfect and my daughter enjoyed the short ribs.

Ask the Community - The Parson's Table

    Is this restaurant handicap accessible?

My DIL brough a baby carriage in the side door so that is the best route unless something has changed since October.

What time is early bird dinner?

4-4:30pm. Must order by 4:30 is what I was told by the hostess so I changed my reservation to 4:15...she could not guarantee that a 4:30 reservation would work (???).

    Is there a dress code?

No. It's more casual than anything

What is the appropriate attire for this restaurant? Coming to NMB this summer and looking for new places to dine and this place looks beautiful.

    Smart casual would be appropriate

Are there food specials on happy hour menu?

Hello Patricia: There are a number of entrees to select from (fish, beef, chicken and pork) that are no more than $15-19 and wine was $2 off during the early bird special timeframe. We returned the following week and ordered off the regular menu… Read more

My mom and sister and I visited from Charleston and planned a trip to Little River specifically to have dinner at The Brentwood and take their ghost tour. The entire evening though was one disappointment after another: from the food to the service to the "ghost tour". Dinner was chaotic before it even began. The menu was changed multiple times by head cook Steve...first the chicken was unavailable, then it was duck, then suddenly chicken Marsala, then back to chicken Caprese. My sister and I went with the chicken caprese and our mom the short ribs. When we finally did get our meals, the chicken dish looked NOTHING like what was described and it was NOT good. It was almost like they just took whatever extra ingredients they had in the kitchen and threw it together to make some type of a chicken pasta dish. They were literally giving away additional plates of it to the other diners during the ghost tour experience for free. My sister and I both left our plates mostly untouched, and our server Lorena didn't ask a single question about why two entrées went back almost full. For the price, it was disappointing to leave hungry. Dessert didn't help either...no one around us finished theirs. And then there was the ghost tour. To call it a "tour" is generous...and it was somehow even worse than dinner. It started with reality TV clips from different ghost hunting show that we could've watched online for free. After that, our guide Steve (yes, the same person who cooked our dinner) led us on what was maybe a 15-minute walk while repeating the same stories multple times he'd already told us earlier in the evening. He seemed extremely disheveled and under the influence of something. His Levi's boxers were literally hanging out of his jeans the entire time. It was unprofessional and uncomfortable. When the "tour" ended, we didn't even bother sticking around to explore the historic property. We were over it. We ended up talking with another couple who had driven in (like us) to celebrate their anniversary, and they were just as disappointed and confused by the whole experience as we were. I absolutely would not recommend this restaurant or the ghost tour to anyone in its current state.

We each picked a couple items, and at first I was skeptical about how well such a mixed menu would come together. That skepticism didn't last long. What's impressive is how they manage to cover different cuisines and still execute them well. The shishito peppers came perfectly grilled and paired with an amazing sauce that really elevated them beyond a typical appetizer. The meatballs felt like something straight out of a family kitchen comforting, rich, and reminiscent of grandma-style cooking. The shrimp scampi was another standout: flavorful, well-balanced, and not overdone with butter or garlic. But the real highlight of the night was the pistachio espresso martini so smooth, creative, and easily one of the most memorable cocktails on the menu. Overall, it's a great spot for sharing plates and trying a little bit of everything. It turns what could feel like a scattered menu into a fun, consistently solid dining experience.

We travel often, eat well, and are working our way through a running list of Michelin-starred restaurants. I only say that to make clear: our palates aren't the problem. This spot had one of the more unusual atmospheres we've encountered. The interior leaned heavily into chrome, black lacquer, and a kind of flashy masculinity that felt a bit dated--think bachelor pad meets nightclub, with a lot of visual noise. Not necessarily a dealbreaker, but definitely not our vibe. The more serious issue was the table next to us loudly making disparaging comments about another couple nearby. The language was inappropriate and made everyone around visibly uncomfortable. Unfortunately, the staff didn't intervene. I understand you can't always control guests, but you can set the tone--and in this case, the silence spoke volumes. That said, my risotto was excellent. Perfectly cooked, rich, and deeply flavorful. I even told my wife (with some hesitation) that it might rival hers--which is high praise in our house. But the rest of the meal didn't quite measure up. Both of our cocktails tasted watered down, almost as if the original flavor had been diluted into a whisper. Her shrimp scampi arrived in a pool of liquid and lacked the garlicky richness we associate with the dish. It wasn't inedible, but it was definitely missing that bold scampi profile. There's clearly talent in the kitchen, and I can imagine someone having a great experience here on a different night. But between the odd ambiance, the inattentive service, and the uneven execution, it just didn't hit the mark for us. Three stars for the risotto and potential--but not a place we'd rush back to.

Both salads were fresh and delicious. I will say one of the best caesar dressings I've had. The pasta, presentation was lovely. The flavors bland, tomato sauce (tastes straight from the can) had no additional spices present and the pasta way over cooked.
