    Salmon Jambalaya

Waterway views, great food and phenomenal service. Oak and Palm covers all 3! Visited on a busy Saturday evening and we were greeted and seated immediately. Our server had great menu knowledge and his recommendations were spot on. The salmon jambalaya was packed with flavor and the portion was veryyyy generous. This will be a spot i visit again when in the area.

My lobster bisque didn't have a piece of lobster in it and was bland. and my tuna looked great but had no flavor. My husband said his sea bass was good. I was disappointed for sure.

Sunset Beach needed this restaurant - and it was worth the wait! Although it was the "off-season" and they got off to a late start to opening day - I think this is a GREAT way for them to ease into the business before the busy season! The decor is beautiful as are the views. There are two bars: one upstairs facing away from the water and the main level facing the bridge. It is an absolute amazing view - whether you're dining at the bar, main floor, outside patio, or upstairs on the second deck. Since I was by myself, I started with the hush puppies. The old twin Lakes was known for these and they did not disappoint. I don't know if it's the same recipe but the cinnamon butter was absolutely amazing. Definitely enough hush puppies for the table. My dirty martinis were made perfectly by the bartender who was very attentive. I ordered the Pork Belly Scallops, and it was an amazing combination. The corn purée and the hash was not something I would've chosen as a side... But it definitely complimented the dish. This is a great restaurant and is wonderful for a date night or special night out. The owner/manager made her way around to each table, which I thought was a nice touch. I don't know that this would be the best place for kids, but they did have a kid selection. I hope nothing more than to see them succeed. We will be back the day after Thanksgiving- reservations made!

Inventive menu lacked execution. Service was good and we accommodated with a reservation when they were full. That was very nice.

We had a delicious dinner. My husband had chowder and jambalaya which was delicious. I enjoyed a dish of Chilean sea bass with coconut rice that was superb. My absolute favorite. Nice view of Sunset Beach intercoastal. The waitstaff was exceptional and the manager came over to check on us during our meal. Definitely going back.

There are a few spaces in front of the door and more along the side of the building. We wound up parking in the rear across an alley in a grassy lot marked for parking. Turn to the right after you enter and go along the counter. There are two ordering stations depending on how busy they are. You will walk past their pastry cabinet so be prepared to increase your order. There is no designated waiting area after you place your order so try to find a place out of the way. There is a dedicated pick up window when they call your number. Pay attention to the numbers as they are called as the food is ready which is not necessarily in sequence. A better choice would be to call ahead as you will be able to pick up your order at the first part of the counter avoiding a lot of waiting. Seating is various tables. There is an outside seating area as well. Everything is pretty crowded together and if you are eating inside expect there will be other customers standing nearby waiting for their orders. We waited about 15 minutes for our order to be called. They have daily specials and the one when we were there was a bbq brisket sandwich with tater tots. There was a good amount of brisket on the sandwich. The meat was flavorful but not the best bbq I have had. The tots were cooked perfectly and piping hot. The roast beef melt was excellent with plenty of meat on an excellent bun. The bread was slightly crunchy outside and soft inside. Of course, standing by the pastry cabinet as we waited to order caused a white chocolate raspberry scone, a piece of baklava, a French toast muffin, and a pumpkin spice muffin to follow us home. All were excellent, with the French toast muffin and the white chocolate raspberry scone earning top praise. The staff was very friendly even though they were quite busy. Calabash Deli deserves to be on the list of top places to try when in the area.

Everything here is PACKED with flavor. We tried a little bit of everything -- empanadas, fried yucca, chicken, soup -- and there wasn't a single miss. Every dish came out tasting fresh, well-seasoned, and like it was made with care. You can tell this isn't just your typical beach spot... this is legit. And the service? Just as impressive. Every table inside was completely full, so we sat outside on a beautiful day -- and even with how busy they were, the service was FAST. Our hostess was fantastic the entire time, super attentive and on top of everything. You'd never guess how packed they were based on how smoothly everything ran. The fried yucca was perfectly crispy, the empanadas were loaded and flavorful, and the chicken and soup tied everything together. Honestly, one of those meals where you keep saying "yo this is GOOD" after every bite. We made it a priority to come back this trip, and now it's officially a tradition whenever we're in Sunset Beach. If you're anywhere nearby and want something different from the usual seafood spots, don't sleep on this place.

Typically, when I come, it is with a larger group so we have to sit inside. For anyone wondering, you are likely always going to have a wait. And that's okay! There is a wonderful beach and Christmas shop right across the parking lot that you can peruse - I promise you can kill at least 45 minutes, and the meal is well worth the wait. This time, since it was just my friend and I, we decided to sit at the outdoor bar, which is first come first serve. We were quickly seated, so it worked out perfectly. One thing I will say is that this patio is in the direct path of the setting sun, so just have your sunglasses ready. I ordered the Sarita Margarita, which is my favorite cocktail they have. It is like a fruity, boozy slushy. Absolutely delicious and perfect after a day at the beach. I always get the Hurricane Chicken. It is my absolute favorite meal. If I were to have my choice of my last meal on earth, it would be Boundary House's Hurricane Chicken. When you order an entree, it comes with a side salad. My recommendation to you is to get their house raspbery vinagrette, it pairs perfectly with this salad! Now, the Hurricane Chicken itself is this delightful combination of a chicken breast, crab cake, and shrimp with some delicious sauce on top. It is so creamy with the variety of flavors that three meats bring. In case you don't finish it all, it also reheats well for leftovers the next day. Parking: there is a large parking lot with plenty of spaces. If you're ever in Calabash, you have to stop in at Boundary House!

We left a diff restaurant with an hr+ wait bc this place supposedly only had a 20-30 min wait. We arrived, checked in and were told when one specific table leaves that we could have their table. There were other open tables but told they didn't have the staff to serve them. So we waited 30 min. and that table did leave on time. However, during that time at least 2 or 3 other parties came to the restaurant and were sat in those empty tables. We were told they had prior reservations AND that apparently they had someone already coming to fill the table we were originally promised. We could wait another 30-45 min for someone else to leave OR sit our 6 adults and 1 child separately at two high back booths with no contact. If it had been my decision I would have walked out immediately. No customer service by host or manager who came to hear it out. The rest of my party was too hungry to wait or go somewhere else so they sat separate and ate. I refused to give them my business and never will. VERY POORLY MANAGED and it obviously starts at the front of the house. My wife had the apricot salmon ($28) its was extremely bland. My 5 yr old son had shrimp and fries ($14!!) which were extremely mediocre at best. I've had better at Culver's. Restaurant looks poorly organized. Needs a renovation, and OBVIOUSLY some new staff who know how to provide customer service in a service industry. Ambiance was like a dive bar trying to serve food to survive. They won't be around long.
