Had a wonderful lunch on Friday. The orders were beach burger and tacos. All our meals were delicious and served by Christie. Ice waters for the hot day were at the table when we arrived and if you sit along the side you receive a beautiful offshore breeze. They do not sit inside for lunch and seeing the number of beach goers in bathing suits eating lunch is a very good reason why!! Went here to celebrate an engagement with friends recently, originally just looking for somewhere on the water where we could get some drinks and appetizers. We all ended up loving it so much we got some entrees too. I got the herb crusted salmon and it was AMAZING. We all got caesar salads and couldn't stop talking about how simple but good they were. Would definitely go again, we sat outside on the patio which was more laid back than it seemed inside. We were a party of 7 for a 7:30om reservation last Friday, requesting outdoor seating so we could remain casual (indoor seating is more formal). In our reservation, it asks if we are celebrating a special event, which I clearly indicated we were: it was my husband's 50th birthday, which is why we were splurging on a nice meal on our last night here at the beach. We arrived on time and waited just a few minutes for our table to be ready. Server was very bubbly and nice, said she was also training someone new. She promptly took our drink orders. We had three cocktails, one mocktail, and three lemonades and waters. We placed our appetizer order of calamari and burrata mozzarella and asked for some bread to tie the kids over, the latter of which came out promptly, but our table was not provisioned with napkin/silverware bundles so we had no means to spread the butter. We asked someone for silverware. Then the appetizers arrived, but again we had no silverware. We waited about 5 mins as it got cold to flag our server down for utensils. The calamari, albeit no longer warm, was tasty. The burrata was as well, but they only give two small slices of crostini. We used our table bread to continue enjoying the mozzarella, balsamic glaze, etc., but the appetizer should have the diameter of the plate arrayed with slices of crostini. One cannot put a half slab of mozzarella onto a tiny sliver of bread. We ordered short rib, grouper, a burger, teo kids chicken tender meal, two filet mignons with bearnaise, and a side of Brussels because they were no longer carrying the broccolini on the menu. No complaints from guests on most of the entrees, but the filets were really charbroiled on the outside. Cooked to our desired temperature on the inside, but tasted like a charcoal briquette on the outside. Even slathering it with bearnaise didn't mask or cut the charcoal. The Brussels were just roasted, no flavor and nothing to write home about. And these entrees were quite pricey, so we were expecting steakhouse level perfection. The biggest disappointment was that, despite our advance notice that we were all there to celebrate my husband's milestone birthday, there was no mention of it from the staff. No birthday slice of cake brought out, no HBD acknowledgment of any kind. The drinks were good, service was good with a few hiccups, server was very nice and friendly, and much of the food was tasty. If we return, I'll probably come back for lunch instead. It just wasn't worth the $ we dropped on the dinner check, and it was not the special celebratory birthday dinner we hoped it would be. read more

I was very disappointed. The building/atmosphere is nice, and our waitress, Jackie, was great. I ordered a medium steak that came out past well done, the crab bisque was pretty underwhelming, the server had no idea what she was doing. She gave us food that wasn't even ours, then took it back and served it to the presumably the right table. I'm not one to gripe often about food but in this case, for the price the food it was very disappointing. The best thing was the "death by chocolate cake" which isn't even made at the restaurant. Wow! We've been going to the same "favorites" for years and are so happy to find something new for a special dinner! Made reservations ahead for four and requested outdoor seating. View is beautiful overlooking the pool and ocean. Service got off to a slow start, but our meals were amazing! We started with the Burrata appetizer and lobster bisque and both were delicious. The Burrata only came with two pieces of crostini (and was a decent amount of cheese), so needed to request more. I ordered the filet with bernaisse on the side and it was cooked perfectly. Husband ordered the braised short ribs and loved it! Others in our party ordered the scallops and ribeye. For the price - it would have been nice to have a side included, but they did come with salads. Our only "complaint" is there was a wedding in the room next to our table, so the guests kept coming out to the tiki bar for drinks and some were a bit loud and obnoxious. Just kind of ruined the ambience of the night. We will definitely return! read more

This restaurant is away from the busier portion of ocean isle and boasts an excellent view, high quality food, great service and ample parking! We opted to sit outdoors because we had our young daughters with us, plus we had a great view of the ocean this way. The vibe outdoors is less upscale, which is what we needed! Indoors, there are white table clothes and it's very beach fancy. Our waitress, Susan, was so kind, attentive and made a great recommendation for our food. She also made our daughters feel special to be there! There is also fresh bread with melts butter brought to the table as a starter. I ordered a Caesar salad with the grouper and it was amazing. Caesar salad had the cheese pieces in it I love and the dressing was excellent. The grouper was meaty and the risotto it was topped upon was cooked to perfection. I would've preferred my asparagus be cooked a little more but seasoned great! My two frozen pina coladas were so refreshing and tasted perfectly beachy. My husband got the tomahawk steak, which is a splurge and huge but he said it was the literally the best steak of his life. I tasted it and the crust they got on it with the perfect medium rare cook can't be beat!! My daughters ordered chicken fingers and butter noodles and goobled them up! Highly recommend this place! We came back to Le Volte for the second time less than 2 weeks ago and we are so glad we did! Seems they have worked out a lot of the opening kinks. We made reservations here to celebrate my husband's birthday and also our son's birthday. It was so wonderful! Our server, Daniel, was really great - his recommendations were spot on! I ordered the pork chop served over roasted potatoes and sausage. It was the best pork chop I've ever had! I chose the blue cheese wedge salad as the choice of salad - it was delicious! I took more than half of my meal home as leftovers My son ordered the tomahawk veal chop with the Oscar topping (crab and béarnaise sauce). We all decided his was the best! Our other family members ordered the filet, the aged ribeye, and the short rib. Everything was cooked to perfection!! For dessert we ordered the cheesecake, tiramisu and the pistachio gelato. Not too shabby! Went tonight for the 1st time. Our family of 5 dined there. We had an earlier reservation (5:15). We were seated on time. Really not a bad seat in the place. By the time we left (7:15) the place was packed. Very attentive waitstaff. Food and drinks were good. A smidge pricey but not overly so. Husband and I had cocktails (table side smoky old fashioned- very good). Appetizers: burrata, ahi and bacon. All good and would order again. Husband had shrimp fettuccine Alfredo, one teen had the burger, one teen had scallops (i did too) . Our youngest teen had butter noodles , For dessert we had the mango creme brûlée and the pistachio dessert. I have a gluten allergy and they were VERY knowledgeable and made sure to let the kitchen know. Our server, Bailey, did a great job going over the menu with us and offering suggestions. Food was served at the temperature at which it was meant. No long waits- just tour typical wait in a nicer restaurant. We loved the ambiance and the overall experience. Our server seemed to constantly ignore us. waited over 15 minutes to get bread delivered to the table. 20 plus more minutes to order a second drink. the food came out an hour after ordering and when it did it came out ice cold sent it back and came out a second time only to be lukewarm. very poor service and very bad food to wait an hour for cold food. they gave us a $200 gift card to apologize but will never be back to this restaurant again. read more

Tried Le Volte for the first time tonight. We had a drink at the outside bar. Great view. The restaurant was very busy on Good Friday. The inside dining room was almost unbearable with the noise level. Something needs to be done to deaden the noise. The menu is pretty much the same as Luca in Shallotte, same owner. The food is good. One minor complaint, with the prices, one would expect to get a piece of bread with a salad. Service was slow. We'll let Le Volte for the tourists. read more

Went recently to this restaurant as one of my "bucket list" of food during my family vacation. A simple treat to enjoy while on a family vacation with my younger kids. I was hoping for a Lobster Bisque and Mango Creme Brûlée. However, I didn't receive a call back letting me know that I couldn't get the dessert to go. I suspected as much initially but was surprised I wasn't told no when the woman who took my order over the phone didn't say it wasn't possible. She did let me know they no longer do the lobster bisque but have a crab bisque. I was fine with that as I've never had crab bisque before. She said it would be 20-25 minutes. My husband was the one to pickup the order and I specifically let him know that if my soup felt room temp that to ask for a new one, which ended up happening. Especially since he had to wait another 15 or so minutes to get the soup and tiramisu (backup choice for dessert). When the soup came in a styrofoam cup, my husband knew right away that it was hardly warm at all. Asked kindly to the girl working that it wasn't hot nor barely considered warm and to please send back and get a new one or warm up the current one. Well, when the waitress came back out she gave him the new cup and said that he could keep the other one; which sounds as if it was a favor. However, when finding out that one was filled just a inch below the bottom extended lip level of the styrofoam cup and the other was half of that. So either the replacement was shortened or the initial order was shortened. My husband let me know that he saw a man come out of the kitchen which appeared to be the chef looking disgusted and angry when the waitress told him that the soup wasn't warm enough. I tried it right away when my husband brought it to me. I sat in the parking lot with our children in tow. So it's not like it was 20-30 minutes of me waiting to receive it. Since that would of been the situation if he drove there himself, but because it was a long one way trip, we brought along the whole family. The crab bisque was subpar in both temp and flavor. Decent "chunks" of crab throughout but did have a couple small shell bites in the initial "fuller" cup. I believe it could of used a bit more butter and a dash of seasoning or simply salt to make it better. The overall value in portion is laughable due to receiving inconsistent portions; and overall quality is so-so. At least I can say the tiramisu was decent. Definitely good portion for its value. Taste is a tad bit too strong on the coffee for me but ideal for my husband. The cream was light in density but lacking in the touch of creaminess in taste I was expecting. The pirouline was a nice added touch on top of it. My husband was intrigued by the ambiance when he entered and mentioned the different aspect he enjoyed such as the unique fan; and how it operates. He mentioned to me that he would like to go there for a date night. I am less inclined due to the quality and value for one of my favorite simple entree/side and dessert. Which he agreed and trusts my taste in both judgement for food quality and value. I have a heightened sense of taste and smell more than others. So if I'm going to pay higher dollar for something I expect great quality no matter the portion size. It is unfortunate, as I read such good reviews. So I'd say proceed with caution; at least if you ever get a to-go order. I live in Europe and was I am visiting my family in North Carolina. They wanted me to experience something special and it truly was tonight! I did not know I was going to end up in a Michelin star restaurant! Le Volte certainly deserves this honor! The service, atmosphere and food were all outstanding. Grouper, salmon, crab cakes, and pasta Manfredi were all excellent. Our waitress Hannah was so pleasant. I asked her if I could have linguine Instead of tortellini with the salmon and there was no problem with the change--so accommodating. The other thing that I noticed on the menu was that many items were gluten-free and also the chefs were willing to work with anybody who had an allergy. We are delighted Ocean Isle Beach now has a restaurant of this quality on the island, and we hope it enjoys many years of success at this gorgeous location. We had a lovely view of the pool and ocean from our indoor table, and the dining room is elegant and beautiful. Every staff member provided friendly and timely service, my Chilean Sea Bass Cioppino was outstanding, and all others at my table enjoyed their meal. It's a large restaurant with indoor, outdoor, and bar seating. Consequently, restaurant owners may want to consider noise reduction interventions for the indoor dining areas. We chose Le Volte, and it did not disappoint. Upon arrival, we were greeted by an absolutely stunning building--perfect for taking pictures with loved ones before walking in. The hostess was pleasant and kind, guiding us to our seats. You have the choice of dining inside or outside; we opted for inside due to the weather, but the outdoor seating offers a gorgeous ocean view. Our waiter, David, was phenomenal--professional yet comforting. He shared off-menu options and really made the evening special. I ordered the 42-ounce cowboy steak, and it was hands down the best steak I've ever had--rich layers of flavor, from the smoky charcoal crust to the perfectly seasoned interior. My girlfriend's steak was slightly undercooked, but another attentive waiter (who was training under David) immediately noticed her discomfort. The entire staff jumped in to correct it quickly, offering multiple solutions to make it right. If you're looking for a pricier, one-of-a-kind dining experience, I can't recommend Le Volte enough. Beautiful venue on the ocean! We sat outside and had a lovely ocean breeze. Food was excellent: oysters sweet and fresh, buratta yummy with a tomato jam and arugula, lump crab meat-simple but oh so tasty! The pork chop entree was huge!! Cooked perfectly in a spicy tomato, potato and onion sauce. The grouper was served over lobster risotto. The risotto was outstanding but the grouper was very salty and fishy. Couldn't really eat it. The portions were huge and wound up bringing half of our meals home. The waitress was very attentive and pleasant as was the hostess and other staff. Would definitely go back!
