I don't understand the 3.4 stars. Before dining here I was the lady becoming her parents in the insurance commercial, I talked to three locals and asked pointed blank, would you recommend Blue Drum or ---- (probably as good but I don't want to say anything bad, I haven't tried-----). All three said Blue Drum. They were right! We had an amazing dinner and live music. We started with the Bacon Hangers. More meat than two people should consume, lol. So good the sauce was smoky and sweet. Then my husband had Salmon with rice and asparagus. I had the Grouper Oscar sub the Grits, instead of rice, and asparagus. They were both delicious! But after the bacon we agreed the Grouper and Grits were a match made in heaven. The rice was too sweet, the buttery grits were the perfect match. The food was good. The service wasn't so good. The tuna nachos though....we came back because of them from last year. We've been talking about them ALL damn year. Ordered them and found a half serving of what we loved last year at the same price. We were shocked and disappointed. Disappointed enough to not go back. A treat that turned sour. Ordered a whiskey smash and it was perfectly clear. No whiskey at all. Just tasted like lemon and mint. For how pricey the place is, the menus were unreadable. They could afford to print readable menus. We have some spice sensitive people in our group we ordered grilled salmon and it would up being spicy crusted. Not what was expected. The Ahi Tuna was done as expected, but flavorless and bland...had the Potential of being great. Shrimp cocktail was very good with big shrimp and the calamari was perfection and not overdone like many places. read more

String beans were good but were provided instead of advertised asparagus. Filet tips were tasty and plentiful. Side Caesar salad fresh. Service was not very good. Promised Chowder before entree found its way to me after entree was presented. Side salad was provided with entree. Furniture was dreadful. I ask to sit along river but all the wood planked tables were high tops with hard metal chair seats only large enough for children's butt comfort. Table boards not even so plates and drinks were wobbly. Flooring planks uneven as well, walking hazard for any senior. Work needs to done to fix these shortfalls. read more

I really want to love this place! It's close by and has a great location! The interior is awesome with great bar space! We've been here a few times and it's been nothing short of so-so! We've had the chowder which is very good. The oysters are ok!! We had the fried green tomatoes which were ok! The gumbo had great flavor but was served luke warm ! I've had the shrimp and lobster linguine which was good! I recently had the blackened mahi tacos which were not great! They were not very 'blackened' and the flour tortillas seemed like they were right out of the plastic packaging! The sweet potato fries were the star of the dinner! The spicy margaritas were excellent! Service both times were ok! The food quality needs to get better for us to make this a regular spot to eat! Service was slow. Prices are higher than any place we've eaten along the strand for similar food. Fried green tomatoes ended up being $3.50 per slice! My friend ordered Mahi tacos were almost $24 and barely had any fish in it. No refills offered on my drink. Took forever to get checked out. read more

Beautiful place with a friendly nice atmosphere. The menu looked amazing but we were just there for drinks while we had to time before a wedding. I had rum punch and it was huge fancy and delicious. My husband got a margarita and loved it. They have a great happy hour and half priced drinks. The waitress was extremely friendly and upbeat I don't remember her name but she had long black hair she was very nice and well informed about the menu. We will back to try the food. I was overcharged, and when I went back to have it corrected, the server and manager told me it was my responsibility to resolve their billing mistake with other members of my group. That wasn't possible, since the other party had already paid and left. Instead of fixing the issue, they passed the problem back to me and said there was nothing more they could do. It felt like they were more focused on avoiding a $20 correction than making things right with a customer. I will never return. The food was average at best anyway. read more

A beautiful setting along the intercoastal waterway. We stopped in for lunch and sat outside to enjoy the gorgeous day and mild temperatures. We had a reservation and were seated quickly. Our server was very nice and attentive although I thought it unusual that the servers are not given an "area" but rather tables so the table around us all had different servers which meant you couldn't easily ask a question for the server. Immediately after placing our order we asked the server to add the hanging bacon appetizer and she said it was maybe "too late." How can it ever be "too late" to order? She said she would try and see if she could place the order. We never heard from her again about the bacon and never received our order. It felt very odd. read more

We were here June 2 and had a terrible experience. I am happy to report that we returned today (6/15) to give it a go. While we did sit at outside bar, and not a table (more on that later) the service was good, attentive and pleasant. The food was hot and good. We had shrimp, mahi, crab beignets, tuna nachos and Mile High cake. All great! We were happy that the lone hostess greeted us with a smile and asked how we were doing first! Then she asked if we had a reservation. Lol its fine. We tried to make a reservation around 7 but the website said there were no reservations available. We decided to try anyway. We arrived around 715 to a mostly empty parking lot. We figured we would sit at the bar anyway. The place was more than half empty so I tell you this to say your reservation system needs an adjustment. You have an amazing location! keep up the good work! read more

Unfortunately this restaurant did not live up to our expectations. The service was awful. I ordered the Mahi tacos. Each taco had a two by one inch piece of mahi. Only enough for one half of a taco. Then when I brought it to the attention of the waitress and manager they were like if you put the three pieces together it is one filet. Must have been a very tiny Mahi. First time here, great service, ambiance and warm enclosure on the porch at 45f outside. We had two friends and enjoyed the deck, the hostess and server. I don't understand the low rating. Almost didn't come in because of it. Glad we decided to go ahead. We started with the New England clam chowder a little thinker than I'm used to but the flavors were excellent. I had the tuna nachos they were wonderful the fish was fresh and the salasa was delightful mango and onion. My husband had the snow crab. When they brought it to the table he was bummed because it had old bay and he hates that flavor. It turns out he loved it. The old bay was just enough but not over powering. We have been going here for years and was one of our favorite places. We called and made a reservation for last night and was told it was in the enclosed room with a beautiful view. When we got there they took us all through the enclosed rooms, across a covered deck, down a flight of stair to a high top table with little metal stools with a seat about 1ft x 1 ft square (if that big). We went to this restaurant on June 20th, 2026. Our order was placed and my wife's Chicken Caesar salad and my grilled Chicken sandwich came out within five minutes of our order. Fast right! It appears the chicken was already precooked and when we started to eat it was very tough. The waitress was nice and asked if we wanted to get something else which was rejected. They should have been able to tell the chicken was tough before they served. The crabcake sandwich that was ordered by another member was small maybe 2 to 3 ounces. ($25) The Kingsport Taco and sweet potato fries was nearly $30 before taxes. The only positive was the view, music and the three beer we had. I took the balance of the sandwich home and fed it to our pets. Upon looking at the container that the food was brought home in, it was not even recyclable. We heard a lot of recommendations for this establishment but for me the food fell flat and did not meet our expectations of the area. My party of three were all underwhelmed. I ordered the salmon blt. The bacon was not fully cooked and I would have preferred it to be crispy. The salmon tasted fishy to me and I should have ordered a local fish but I love salmon. The Cajun tartar sauce was really good. I ordered the pineapple slaw and this rocked. The pineapple was such a great twist to this side. We also ordered the crab dip with pita and this was just ok but didn't wow me as I hoped. For the price of the food I wanted to be WOWED and live it. Another person in my party ordered the mahi sandwich but it was raw so he sent his back and it took a long time to bring back and they forgot the sweet potato fry's. We are moving to Myrtle Beach and this was my very first experience of being at a restaurant here and it was so bad!!!
