Party of 5. Nice atmosphere, but pricey. Two from our table ordered she crab soup and it came within 10 min, another 2 ordered shrimp cocktail and it was coming up on 40 min with no shrimp cocktail yet. I asked to cancel mine at that point. At first, I was told they weren't sure they could cancel it since it was already being prepared, then it was canceled when I didn't concede. Over 40 min for shrimp cocktail is wild. Crab legs were tasty and fresh. read more

EXCELLENT food and service. Went twice on this trip. Will make it a regular stop on future trips.

Disappointed. Ordered crab cake sandwich with side of garlic mashed potatoes. The crab cake was so small. Much to expensive for what you get. It's been a long time since I left a restaurant hungry. read more

Unfortunately this restaurant did not live up to our expectations. The service was awful. I ordered the Mahi tacos. Each taco had a two by one inch piece of mahi. Only enough for one half of a taco. Then when I brought it to the attention of the waitress and manager they were like if you put the three pieces together it is one filet. Must have been a very tiny Mahi. I'm not sure how to add the photo but I took a photo for proof. read more

The food (steak and shrimp) was very good! The service was sporadic, service was slow, though waitress was busy. Think she had too many table! Ambiance was way too noisy and dishes being dropped in bus trays at bar with loud clashes every few minutes made you jump out of your skin. No relaxation with a nice dinner. read more

First of all we have a reservation at 6:30 and didn't get seated until 7 unbelievable!!! Ordered are food at 7:10 didnt get it until 8:30 quality was very poor the salmon was cold and they served us crab without a crab cracker and no BUTTER. Delicious salmon and grouper! Gorgeous view! great service! Highly recommend! Make reservation as they book up!

We were here June 2 and had a terrible experience. I am happy to report that we returned today (6/15) to give it a go. While we did sit at outside bar, and not a table (more on that later) the service was good, attentive and pleasant. The food was hot and good. We had shrimp, mahi, crab beignets, tuna nachos and Mile High cake. All great! We were happy that the lone hostess greeted us with a smile and asked how we were doing first! Then she asked if we had a reservation. Lol its fine. We tried to make a reservation around 7 but the website said there were no reservations available. We decided to try anyway. We arrived around 715 to a mostly empty parking lot. We figured we would sit at the bar anyway. The place was more than half empty so I tell you this to say your reservation system needs an adjustment. You have an amazing location! keep up the good work! read more

We sat outside at the dockside tables. I loved the string lights along the deck,, especially as the sun was setting. The ambience was just perfect. The service was OK but it took a while to get any special needs met in our group of five. The crab dip was not anything I would order again but the blackened mahi tacos were delicious, as was the peach Bellini cocktail. read more

My wife and I are on vacation and have been looking for good seafood restaurants each night. So in searching I came across Blue Drum. We were seated at the water's edge outside and had a great view as the sun set on the horizon. Loved the atmosphere there. The night started with our server River. He did an outstanding job waiting on us tonight and seemed to be just as engaged with the other tables I saw him with as well. We order the green tomatoes to start and they were great. Had bacon crumbles, crumbled goat cheese and balsamic glaze on them.. They were very accommodating as my wife wanted the tuna steak, but it was listed as pan seared with a cold middle. She asked if they could cook it warm and it got done to perfection when it came out! I had the trio tacos with blackened shrimp in them and they were awesome! To finish off things, we had a yelp coupon for a free desert which we used. The seasonal desert was a Pumpkin cheesecake and it was amazing! So if you're in the area, I highly recommend coming here. read more

Horrible Experience, Will Never Return I've been a regular at the Blue Drum in Little River since I moved here last October, but after today, I will never be back. I was overcharged during happy hour, and the Manager refused to fix it. My bill should have been about $18.00. Here's what happened: I came in with Caffeine Free Diet Coke for health reasons and asked for Vodka and to use my own Diet Coke. Taylor asked me if I wanted ice, I replied yes. The bartender, who was new, rang it up as "on the rocks," even though I never asked for it that way. The result? An extra $14 charge for something I didn't request. I didn't do anything different from any other Thursday night that I went to Blue Drum. When I tried to explain, the Manager Tina didn't care and refused to make things right. On top of that, I was charged for a house rum that I never ordered and the normal price not happy hour price for 3 of my drinks. I mentioned to my friend that I wasn't leaving a tip after the mix-up, and the other bartender still had my credit card. I never said I wasn't paying--just that I wouldn't be tipping due to being overcharged so much. Then, the manager threatened to call the cops on me. I've never been so disrespected. I've always paid my bills and have a stellar credit rating. This whole experience was just awful, and I'm beyond disappointed. I've been a loyal customer up until now, but after today, I will NEVER set foot in this place again. Continued: after Owners Reply. Tina/Briann, In response to your reply, I suggest you review the camera footage. I provided Maria with my credit card prior to receiving my bill, and upon receiving my first receipt, I noticed the charges. I had already paid for the services rendered. I never stated that I was not paying. I am not that person. I was conversing with a friend when you inadvertently overheard our conversation. I mentioned that I would not leave a tip due to being overcharged. The photographs of the receipts provide evidence of this. The first receipt clearly indicates that I paid by Visa. Subsequently, I questioned the charges. Maria removed one of the $7.00 rocks charges, which I should not have been charged, and offered me a $2.00 discount. Included pictures below of both receipts and perhaps you should check your cameras to see that I paid before I questioned my bill. The first receipt also shows four house vodkas priced at $20.00. You suggested that I had arrived well before Happy Hour, which is not accurate. I had one drink before Happy Hour, and that drink should have cost $5.00. The remaining three drinks should have cost $4.00. I definitely only had 1 drink before Happy Hour started and was still drinking it when Happy Hour started. The Happy Hour Rum priced at $4.00 was not mine; it was charged to me in error. Additionally, my friend was overcharged as well. She was charged for a non-Happy Hour drink and did not have a drink until approximately 5:00 PM. She was also charged for the rocks. Her bill was rectified by the bartender. A competent manager/ owner would actively listen to customers and endeavor to rectify any issues. Unfortunately, you have lost two customers, and the potential number may increase if I further disclose the treatment I received from you to my acquaintances. I am perplexed by your assertion that I was not paying, as I had already settled the bill in full. I want to express my strong objection to your persistent assertion that I attempted to leave without paying my bill. I have concrete evidence to refute this claim, and I urge you to cease posting such false information. As a former employee of Verizon's Collections department, I have consistently upheld the importance of paying my bills on time and in full. I am deeply offended by the defamation of character you are attempting to inflict upon me by making such baseless accusations. Should you persist in your false claims, I will be compelled to seek legal recourse, including filing a lawsuit for defamation of character. read more

The ambience was wonderful and loved the view of the inlet. Our waitress, Grace, was very good. However, the oyster sandwich had no sauce on it which made it very dry and the oysters were not seasoned well. We also had the tacos and again there was only mahi mahi, lettuce and tomato on the taco shell. It was missing queso fresco and chipotle aioli. Again very dry and tasteless. Last of all we had the crab sandwich and bit into a piece of tin foil. Wonderful menu but definitely must have caught the chef on an off day. We also heard other patrons mention the absence of sauce. read more

Great restaurant. Had dinner there last night. Nice happy hour before 6:00. Started off with some grouper bites and an order of Bang Bang Shrimp. Both were excellent. We have been going here for years and was one of our favorite places. We called and made a reservation for last night and was told it was in the enclosed room with a beautiful view. When we got there they took us all through the enclosed rooms, across a covered deck, down a flight of stair to a high top table with little metal stools with a seat about 1ft x 1 ft square (if that big). I have back and knee issues, and with the heat. We ask server about reservation and they told us that is the only place they could seat us. Reminded her again about reservation with no success. Why do you take reservations when you do not honor them.... read more

Great variety of food and drink options and view of the inter coastal waterway. Multiple seating options from inside to outside dining.

Hit this spot on a Tuesday night a few weeks ago for our last night in town and it was fantastic! One of the best happy hours I've seen in this area. We started with the caprese salad (the addition of avocado was nice). Then appetizer crab legs (just ok), she crab soup (amazing) and seared tuna (surprisingly delish). read more

Maybe if you have a reservation your experience will be better, but without a reservation ours was very unorganized and unpleasant. We were sat under a porch with poor lighting, a table too small for our party, and seats that were falling apart and uncomfortable. After waiting 90 minutes l, we left and got food somewhere else. Generally I think the restaurant needs better management and organization so they don't sit more people than they can handle. read more

I would give it 4 1/2 stars if I could. Beautifully set on the intercostal waterway, sitting outdoors on a sunny day only added to the experience. Wife started with a cup of she crab soup and l a cup of gumbo. Both were delicious and very hot. As main courses,I had the salmon BLT and the Mrs had the calamari app. Ok, my one snit it seemed like a long time between bringing us stuff, including long waits between iced tea refills. I e were having a good time so ordinarily I don't worry. The prime concern is is the food hot. My Mac and cheese and salmon blt was but the wife's calamari was not. To sum up the food was amazing and the service was meh. I'd give them a second for numerous reasons I just wish today went better read more

Blue Drum has a terrific setting right on the ICW. We were seated on the lower outdoor deck right on the water. They also have an outside seating area that is covered and a cool inside seating area dominated by a huge bar. Our server, Emily, was fantastic. Very personable and helpful with menu choices. The food was good, but their unique twist on things was curious. I will definitely return for the setting, drinks, and apps. read more

We could not get reservations until 7:30. The restaurant was fairly empty when we arrived. The food was not that good. The clams in linguine were some of the worst I have ever had. The seasonal cocktails were good. The gumbo tasted like vegetable soup with shrimp thrown in. Our server was great, very attentive. Based on reviews and recommendations, I expected much better. read more

The ambiance is about ALL this place has going for it. We were greeted by a hostess that clearly hated her job and was pretty rude. We are moving to Myrtle Beach and this was my very first experience of being at a restaurant here and it was so bad!!! We then waited at our table for probably 20 minutes without anyone even stopping by. I talked to a waiter that kept walking past us and he said we were in someone else's section. We were just about to leave when the server came. We should have left as they were out of crab cakes and the food we ordered was very average and tasteless. It was interesting by the water and the musician playing in the bar was good but that is it. read more

First, let me say my wife and I have been to Blue Drum numerous times in the last year, for dinner but mainly Bunch. This past Easter Sunday, I had made reservations for 5 for Brunch at 1:00 PM. (Brunch is served between 10:30-2:00) We arrived at 12:50 PM and were immediately seated. The Waitress came by about 10 minutes later as they were extremely busy, I'm sure because it was Easter. She brought us water and asked for a for our Drink order. She came back and at 1:30 and asked for our order. My wife asked for the omelet which she loves and the waitress said oh I'm sorry we are out of eggs. WHATT.... I said we came for Brunch. Go to the store and buy eggs.... she laughed. So she said okay I'll take the French Toast and she said sorry Brunch was over. It is now 1:25 PM and I Said Brunch goes to 2 PM and she said yes, but sorry and we could leave. (Where on 1:30 PM could we get Easter Brunch) We all looked at each other and we decided to stay, but I asked to see the Manager to log my complaint. We order and my wife's chicken sandwich was way over cooked with no other complaints from myself and our other 3 guests. NOW, we pay the bill and finally the manager came over a hr later and said someone wanted to see the Manager. I spoke up and explained we came here for Brunch and were told that Brunch ended at 1:15 PM cause they ran out of eggs. I laughed and she said that they had over 100 reservations and they were overwhelmed. I told her we'll then that was poor management not to plan if you knew you had 100 reservations. Obviously, even if it was true, she became indigent and finally said "sorry". I was upset, gave the waitress my name and phone number and asked for the owner to call. Three days later, no call. Not very professional in my opinion. read more

We started with so much excitement to be here at this restaurant with how the online menu looked and with the great reviews. 5 parties were ahead of our 7:45 reservation, and had been waiting minimum of an hour before we arrived. We finally got seated after 30 minutes, but not the section of the patio we had reserved. We continued to give them the benefit of the doubt and hoped the food would be worth it. The food was beyond underwhelming, overcooked, and cold. Had to send food back and I never send food back. Very disappointed. Manager comped the cold and slop-like She Crab Soup, the overcooked hockey puck filet mignon, and the cold and soggy calamari. The service we received was also underwhelming. We asked opinions on the menu to our server and they did not explain anything. Things we ordered were also not available and the server did not mention it until the order had already arrived. Will not be returning and will be recommending peers to NOT come here, unless you feel like throwing some money away. read more

Food was very good but climb to the restaurant was difficult. We had to park in the overflow parking lot, so the walk to Blue Drum was long and the climb to the eating area was difficult. An elevator would have been preferred. We had soup and entrees. The soups were excellent. Had to take leftovers of our entrees home. My husband ordered the ribeye steak medium rare and it was overcooked. The food prices were very high. Not sure if we will go back to Blue Drum. read more
