We opted for family style selections of dumplings, fried chicken, Spivey and regular, Korean Noodles with beef and vegetable and beef bul go gi. The beef dish was very poor quality meat and we should have sent it back. Very chewy with grisly particles thought out the meat. Everything else was spectacular. Great spot for tasty casual Korean food. Air quality was excellent so we dined in. Service was quick and we got what we needed. We ordered the Yangnyum Chicken 50/50 and it was delicious! Wings are fire - the yangnyum flavor. That sauce is the perfect balance of sweet and savory. For the price, it's amazing. Wish they were a little more crispy though. Their creamy udon was also really tasty. The cream sauce was so flavorful and bold. We got the seafood add-on, lots of mussels, squid, shrimp. I highly recommend this noodle dish. Sauce can be a bit heavy but it's perfect for the noodles and flavor. I also got the cheese corn the second time I came here and I wasn't a big fan. They used Mayo with the cheese and I thought it didn't go with the mozzarella at all. But to each their own! Just not my preference. First, I do not like the fact that coating and flours around is way too thick for me. The flavor is there but nothing outstanding. It's salt and pepper like very simple. Again, I did not care for so thick batter around these chicken. Tofu soup was simply watered down, not so great. There is no depth to the soup. I also did not like the way the pork was cut inside of the soup. Thick and chunky and tough. Mandu was fine as it is supposed to be like how typical Mandu is. Banchan was ok. My family and I would always come here every time we would visit. We enjoy the fried chickens that they offer, but the last call seems to be getting earlier and earlier every time we visit. Last night, my fiance came in to order, and he got in around 8 . They told him they were closing at 830pm, so he made it in time for takeout. But as soon as we started eating, we noticed that the rice had a weird smell like it was about to spoil. So so we ended up not eating the 4 orders of rice because we didn't want to risk getting sick since we had a wedding to go to the next day. I have tried almost every single one of their chicken dishes now and will continue to come here for my Korean chicken. It's honestly really hard to find a Korean chicken shop that does it as closely to the way they do it in Korea as this place. There was one in LA but even that is outshined by this joint. I have been searching for really good korean fried chicken and one of my students told me to try out The Third Place. I got their half fried and half yangnyum chicken it was one of the best ones I'v tried! The fried chicken was perfectly cripsy and both have great flavors as well as portions. I also got their cheesy spicey rice cakes and a side of fries. Everything was carefully packed and the service was great! - Half fried and half yangnyum $20.99 Cheesy spicy rice cakes $12.99 Fries $6.99 - In my opinion prices are fair and cheaper than some other places I have tried out. Korean fried chicken caught my curiosity with all the new k-chicken spots in the Greater Seattle, and I couldn't miss out on my chance now that Redmond has one! I ordered a lunch box set as well after reading the positive reviews. Both turned out delicious and everything was fresh! ----- Half&Half Chicken: half fried & half yangnyum k-chicken. Served with a side of pickled radishes ($20.99). The k-chicken was so aromatic and crispy! Meat was tender and amount of coating was good. Between the two, I prefer the yangnyeom for its depth of flavor. I requested mine to be extra spicy after seeing people mentioned it being too sweet, and the heat was perfect for me. A sufficient amount of extra sauce (about half a cup) too. And despite being coated in sauce, the chicken still remained crispy. The other k-chick indeed was extra crispy as it had no sauce, but barely had any seasoning. Mine came with eight of each type: four drumsticks and four wings of extra crispy, and six drumsticks and two wings of the yangnyum. $21 is pricey for sixteen pieces total. Worth trying out though! I liked that the restaurant leaves the take-out box lid open to preserve the crispiness of the freshly fried chicken too. ----- L.A Kalbi Do.Si.Rak: comes with rice and side dishes ($15.99). The size of the dosirak was huge and well portioned! Six strips of juicy kalbi were placed over the rice. My box also included the banchans: japchae (stir-fried glass noodles), gamja jorim (potato braised in sweet soy sauce), eomuk bokkeum (stir-fried fish cake), Korean macaroni salad, a fried chicken drumstick, two pieces of honey garlic chicken, a fried pork dumpling, and pickled cucumbers. Each were on point with the seasoning and cooked adequately. Dosirak is served all day with the other meat choices being beef, spicy pork, and chicken bulgogi for $14.99. I highly recommend the lunch box set! ----- If getting take-out, I would recommend directly ordering from the restaurant. I placed my order through the phone as the prices in UberEats are $5 to $6 higher. I've uploaded photos of the menu too. If dining in, the main dining area had seven tables of four. The phone call in was a little bit of a challenge but we got through! For about $20 there was an ample amount of fried wings and drumettes hot from the fryer. The Third Place is located in what I would call downtown Redmond, where an abundance of other shops are restaurants are. There's no private parking lot for The Third Place, so you'll have to find street parking or nearby paid parking lots or garages and walk over. My friends and I have been on a mission to try out as many Korean fried chicken places as possible. So my friend suggested we try this out. We came here on a Friday night after 8pm, so it wasn't really that busy. They do have a policy that you must be wearing a mask upon walking in to the restaurant, which is great. The entire staff (those whom I can see) were wearing their mask. So upon walking in, the restaurant splits into two dining rooms - one straight ahead as you walk in and another to the left of the entrance. For the most part, the service was ok. It did look like they wiped down and disinfected each table after it was used. So that was great. But here are my complaints (also why I took off a star): the waiter forgot to bring us our beer. Pretty much, the food came before the beer, making it seem like he had forgotten that we ordered beer to have with our food. He also forgot to bring us spoons for the soup. We had to ask for that as well. Another mistake was that the waiter somehow dropped my friend's credit card in the process of bringing him the receipt to sign off on. My other friend had to ask our friend if his card was there, because she saw him pick it up somewhere and she had to ask the waiter if that was our friend's card; which it was. Kind of sloppy service that night. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that they were probably tired since it was close to their closing up period. Now on to the more positive. The food was great! We have to say that the kfc here is on our list as #1 so far, aside from the regular kfc. The unflavored kfc was ok. But the flavored kfc, like the Yangnyum Wings, Garlic Wings, and Honey Garlic Chicken were absolutely tasty! They were flavorful and the batter was great where it was crunchy on the outside and left the chicken moist and tasty on the inside. We also order the Spicy Seafood Soup and that was rather tasty as well. Overall, The Third Place was a good experience with tasty food. I have really enjoyed Third Place for eat-in on multiple occasions, and for take-out as well. The quality of the yangnyum and spicy yangnyum fried chickenis fantastic. Superb KFC on the Eastside. There are plenty of good Korean restaurants in and around Seattle, but lately, I find myself going back to The Third Place for their excellent Korean Fried Chicken and their superb Korean side dishes (banchan). I've got their half and half chicken a couple of times, because I can't decide which I like more, the fried or Yangnyum chicken. Fried has seasoning in the batter, but it is the perfectly cooked and crispy skin that shines, with just the perfect amount of subtle seasoning. The Yangnyum as a nice sweetness that is not overpowering, and again, the skin has a wonderful crispness to it. Both are highly recommended. I also tried the padak chicken. I was slightly hesitant because I think that bone-in chicken is always juicier, and therefore better. But the padak didn't disappoint, with flavor and crisp texture like the regular fried chicken. It was just a touch dry, like all boneless chicken, on its own, but thr beauty of this place is that they give you tons of julienned green onions and a great sauce to eat with the chicken. The combo is near perfect, and eliminates any thoughts of dryness. The only slight downside is that they don't serve bone-in whole chicken, just bone-in wings. But it's hard to do bone-in KFC right, unless you butcher the chicken into equally sized parts. But doing so can make the pieces seem a bit wierd to people used to their western counterparts. Personally, I prefer the butchering used in Korea for KFC, but it might be tough to be successful doing it the same way in the U.S. I've also had their yukgaejang, which was pretty good. I always order yukgaejang though, so my standards are quite high. There were no glass noodles included, which is outside the norm in the US, but is not uncommon overall. I prefer it with, so my personal preference for noodles might be why I thought this one was only ok. The Korean side dishes (banchan) are supurb. They give you 8 sides (9 if you order chicken) and they're all done well. Great variety, quality and quantity, even for takeout. Post covid pandemic, I could see myself going here with friends, ordering some chicken and other dishes to share, while drinking soju (they sell it here) while listening to Kpop on the two large TV's. It's a comfy looking spot that should be lots of fun, especially with the great food. read more

The food was really good but I wish the wings were fried crispier, it really isn't korean fried chicken if is not super crispy, so I was disappointed ! The yangnyum sauce was savory and spicy. I ordered level 3 and it had a good kick and was perfectly balanced for me( I take spicy food pretty good). The bibimbap was alright, nothing too special about it. I'd been so excited to try this place after seeing all the great reviews and it definitely lived up to the hype. I tried the bulgogi dosirak and the yangnyum fried chicken. There were about 18 chicken wings in the full order. The wings were perfectly crispy with just the right amount of sauce. I would definitely get the dosirak when I come back. For example, half and half chicken is $26.99. The menu is also limited - just chickens and few menus. We want to try their full menu!! Steamed dumplings were good, didn't taste like frozen ones. Also, love their sauces because they make their own sauces. As for the chicken, they can fry their chickens - they are crisp and crunchy. However, yangyum chicken was disappointing. This is not authentic yangyum chicken, it's like honey glazed wings. I wish I can give 5 stars but the most disappointing part was the size. These were mostly small chicken wings (photo). Usually, Korean chickens are big and lots of sauces on top. They also have pretty unique ones like PaDak (green onion boneless chicken with citrus dressing), but... is it worth $25.99? Nope. I like this place a lot, a delicious go-to for both takeout and dine-in. Service isn't outstanding, which I don't care much about because it sort of fits the ambiance. Recently, I ordered a Yangyum with a spice level of 2 (as while I can handle spice, my friends cannot), but it ended up being around a 4 (I've tried spice levels 2-4) which might take the enjoyment out of eating. As a food service worker, I'll still always tip for the people in the back and front but that time felt a bit disappointing. Also if you want something additionally for takeout, you might have to remind them a couple times for it because there's a chance they might forget! Overall, I'll still go to this place but for people who are really particular about spice levels and service, this review might be something to consider.
