They had live music which was nice and decorated adorably for fall. I was especially hopeful since they seemed to be vegan friendly. We were greeted right away and sat and ordered within 5 minutes which was another plus. I was excited to try their vegan Mac and cheese balls and their black bean burger and despite advertising beef tallow fries, they have a designated vegan fryer. Now... where it all went downhill. Those Mac and cheese balls tasted horrible. They had almost no initial taste and the aftertaste was like soap and the texture was complete mush. And no, there was no cilantro that registered like soap. This straight up tasted like a mushy soap bomb. We waited a really long time for our food. Our waitress disappeared without saying anything and another person asked us if we wanted our check when we still hadn't gotten our main entrees. After a while, we got our food. My black bean burger was just ok. But they didn't prepare it like I requested. I ordered the blackened blue burger with a black bean patty. I believe it was $14 and was supposed to come blackened with Cajun seasoning and a vegan blue cheese and I skipped the bacon. I was asked if I wanted to vegan bun and said sure. When the bill came, my $14 burger was $21.50. I was charged for a custom burger and every single thing was an upgrade on top of it. Nothing about that burger was worth $21.50. It was barely worth $14. I was so upset that none of this was communicated to me. I've had worse food, which is why it's 2 starts instead of 1. But if I'm ever in this area again, I'll never come back.

We were welcomed by the hostess as soon as we walked through the door, which is always a nice way to start. The restaurant was beautifully decorated for the fall season, giving it such a warm and inviting feel. We were seated in the main dining room, just across from the bar area. We started with the fried pickles, which were really good. I ordered the pork schnitzel, and it was so yummy! One of our friends had the Philly cheesesteak, which came with fries and was very good, and another friend ordered the Tex-Mex wrap and really enjoyed it. Overall, it's a nice, comfortable local restaurant with good food and a friendly atmosphere. I also love supporting a locally owned business, and the owner was very friendly and welcoming. We had a great time and would definitely come back!
