I was checking out the Sugar Loaf artisan streets when I got hungry so I stopped by for a quick bite. I ordered the meatloaf Wellington and tap house salad to split with my boyfriend. Prices are on the high end side but we both were able to eat for a grand total of $40. The salad was simple but had a lemon vinaigrette and it was so good that my bf dipped the bread in it. The Meatloaf Wellington at Sugar Loaf Taphouse is honestly a hidden gem. It's like they took a comfort-food classic and gave it a gourmet upgrade. The meatloaf itself is tender and flavorful, wrapped in this perfectly golden puff pastry that's buttery and flaky in all the right ways. The mushroom duxelle they add gives it this earthy depth, and the gravy? Oh, the gravy--it ties everything together with this rich, savory finish. It's served with a side of creamy mashed potatoes that are so smooth, they feel like a hug for your soul. The portion is generous, and the presentation is surprisingly fancy for a taphouse. I love that the also include some veggies to balance out the heaviness of the dish. The vibe of the place is warm and inviting, too--like a small-town pub where you can just relax and enjoy good food. The staff is friendly, and you can tell they have pride in what they serve. They give great recommendations as well. If you want something comforting but elevated I highly recommend the meatloaf Wellington.

What a great place to grab dinner! Came for a family dinner and they did not disappoint from the food for the service it was a top to down great place to eat. Our sever Julianne was super helpful and full of personality. Taking the tables order she gave up opinions and recommendations, really helped make it a great experience. The table ordered Bruschetta and sloppy Joe dip. The sloppy Joe dip was sweet and tangy, a great eat. The bruschetta was different with apples, walnuts and Gorgonzola cheese. Julianne pro tip got me to switch to Vodka sauce instead of red sauce for the chicken parm. It was so good like I couldn't believe how big the portions were and how amazing it all tasted. We had some drinks, enjoy the mood lighting and laughter of the rustic style of this restaurant. It was a 5/5 star meal and we all had leftovers to look forward too.

Sunday Sliders with coleslaw and pickle

Food was amazing! Stopped in for lunch, everyone was friendly and polite. My companion had the chicken pot pie soup as a starter. Then fish and chips as the main course. I had chicken dumplings with apple slaw and teriyaki sauce as a starter and the Sunday Sliders with chicken cutlet and pickle on a potato roll and house pickle slaw (I skipped the honey butter/dairy). I loved the house pickle slaw which is made with vinegar (I think ACV) instead of mayo--added the perfect sweet and sour flavors to the slider. I also had a side of sweet potato fries--everything was tasty. Prices were super reasonable and the serving size was excellent--starters are great for sharing with a group. Ambiance was comfortable. Will definitely come back to try more options!

Place is so cozy! Great menu, I ordered the filet mignon sliders, top on my list now. Food came promptly. Our waitress was professional and kind, took great pictures of us. Never expected such a great ambiance with great food in a beautiful little town. You guys made my day.

The ambiance to this place is a bar that has an extension of a dining room with 11 or 12 tables. The food was good we had the Cesar salad and filet mignon sliders. The mayo on the sliders was very good. My daughter had the raviolis and they were huge and 4 to an order. She is 5 and finished them all. The service is where this place falls apart. From my understanding this is typically the busy time of year for this town, if that's the case then they need to hire alot more staff. We ordered refills on drinks and never got those uuntil our check came and that was only because I had to ask for them. Overall the food is good they just need more dining room support.

Told you we'd be back! Went here on Saturday July 19th 2025 with my parents for a much needed dinner. Decided to go to this place because we haven't been here in a while. Be forewarned, it can still get crowded. Went inside, and there was a line at the host stand, however, we were sat right away at a booth. Server greeted us right away, and She was very pleasant. started with 3 waters, I ordered the Giggle Juice cocktail, my mom ordered the pineapple Margarita, and my dad ordered a titos with sprite. Our drinks came out in a timely manner, and there was something in the drink, but the server fixed it right away and made a new one. Looked over the menu, and decided on The Veggie Burger. Can't remember what my dad or mom ordered unfortunately. But our server took great care of us and constantly checked on us, including how the food was going! We all enjoyed our food and highly recommend Sugar Loaf Taphouse if you are in the area! Paid the check via a credit card and left a cash tip! Would definitely be back if we are ever in the area!

Enjoying dinner with family. Very nice place with a nice atmosphere and ample parking space. The staff was very pleasant and serviceable; always making sure we were ok at our table. The food was delicious, and I like the dishes presentation. I would love to come back in the summer for an outside seating!!!

Sugar Loaf Taphouse is one of our go-to spots every fall, especially before heading out to Warwick for apple picking. The food is consistently fantastic, and this time was no different. We had the burger (juicy and flavorful), the truffle flatbread (deliciously rich), the fig and prosciutto flatbread (sweet and savory perfection), and the chicken wrap. All the appetizers were top-notch as well! The service was excellent--friendly and attentive. It's such a cozy, welcoming place that always adds to our fall traditions. We absolutely love it here, and it's become one of our fall staples. Highly recommend stopping by!

Love this place! Usually crowded and often you have to wait to get in but well worth it! Somewhere you can bring your family too. Until yesterday I didn't realize they had an upstairs for seating as well. Food is amazing! The brussels sprouts appetizer is one of my favorite things! The wings are also a great choice. Got the filet mignon sliders but didn't think they were that great. Felt like they lacked something but can't put my finger on it.

My favorite dish!! Penne ala vodka!

They usually have a food truck outside with different options, and if not, you can always DoorDash or grab takeout and bring it with you. One of my favorite things about Apex is how much they offer. Trivia nights, music bingo, paint & sips, bonsai nights, weekend entertainment -- there's always something going on to bring people together and keep the place fun. The staff is incredibly welcoming, and after you've been there a couple of times, you really do start to feel like family. I'll even stop in by myself after work just to hang out because it's that comfortable of a place. Great beer, great people, fun events, and never a dull moment. I also want to note, we recently started coming here. I have never met the owners or the folks who frequent here, until I started to become a regular. So no personal affiliation with anyone in the brewery, except afterwards--now they're family. You can walk in by yourself and still feel comfortable and part of the crew!
