This yoga studio has a great location as it is right on Virginia and Vassar in the heart of midtown. This studio has many classes, easy sign up on the mind/body app, and is always clean. The people are friendly and they have a lot of different times/ classes that you can take. The few complaints I have is that they only start on time.. sometimes. Depending on the teacher, they try. Sometimes they run over, and that is frustrating.. A lot of the time I am squeezing these classes in before/ after work and running long by 5-10 minutes is really frustrating. I understand yoga is chill, but for scheduling it is tough. The other issue I had was coming back into yoga after not doing it for about a year, they have a lot of HOT/ warm classes in the evening. For someone new, this is intimidating. I was able to try to go to the morning classes with the regular heated, beginner yoga, or weekend classes with no heat, but during the work week there are slim options. The heat is wonderful, but something to build up to in my opinion. It gets HOT. To end on a positive note, I love that they honor teacher/ educator/ student pricing! I love this and the new month trial is a really great deal to see if this is something you might want to stick with. Recommend getting there a little early as sometimes the parking is tricky with the construction and the dispensary below them. read more

I would like to start by saying that I really like the space, the instructors, and the yoga taught here. However, almost every class I've been to has been so crowded, making it hard to move freely through the postures without coming in contact with your neighbor. My friend left this studio for this very reason. I understand they are becoming more popular but they don't seem to cap the classes enough (or at all). Also, the floors don't seem to be kept as clean as they could, especially with so many of the classes being heated, resulting in lots of sweat from all the people. If they capped their classes at 30 and did a quick floor mop after every class, it would be much more enjoyable. read more

I did my teacher training at The Studio with Angie Fraley. I can't even begin to put into words how life changing this has been for me. I was so afraid to even step into The Studio, as I was a home yoga practitioner. The space now feels like home. Angie and the other instructors (Johanna is amazing!) are so kind, well learned, and patient. They are always there to answer your questions, and the classes never disappoint. The energy there is soothing, and full of love and light. If you are looking for a Yoga Studio, then The Studio is the place to go. Love love love The Studio BUT parking has turned into such a headache...unless you get there extremely early and at the right moment (from a previous class letting out) then maybe you can get a spot. With the new distillery below, the already small parking lot is split...causing for some not so "woosahhh" moments trying to get to class. Case in point, due to 5:00pm traffic for a 5:30pm class and the parking issue, I was 15 minutes late for class and didn't want to be rude to other students or the instructor interrupting class, I missed my class... read more

I am updating my review because I got a massage a couple weeks ago and it was disappointing. The massage itself was very nice and felt great and the masseuse was really sweet, but the place was soo loud it was hard to relax. I know there's a lot going on with it being a juice bar and a yoga studio, but it was kind of hard to get into that zen massage state that I was looking for when people were shouting, laughing, and, I may be crazy, but it sounded like someone was using a drill during the massage. I know space is limited, but maybe something like a white noise machine in the massage room would help? Massages are expensive and they're supposed to be relaxing, it was just too noisy to fully enjoy it. read more

Yesterday I went in for a massage with Marianne. I had been to The Studio before for yoga classes (which have always been good) but had no idea they had massage therapy there. Let me tell you, Marianne is a master of her craft. I haven't had many massages in my life, so I didn't give her much direction at all, yet she still managed to find all the aches that I had been carrying for so long. It was remarkable. Everything from the check-in process, to the music/ambiance, to the massage itself was incredibly relaxing. My only complaint is that I didn't come to her sooner! I have definitely found someone that I feel comfortable returning to. If you are in need of relieving tension, do your body a favor and go see Marianne. Absolutely 5 stars! read more

I'm definitely a beginner when it comes to yoga but wanted to give it a try, and I'm glad I started here. Everyone is so nice and welcoming and the classes are extremely helpful. The instructors give a lot of personal attention to everyone in the class, which is extremely nice for beginners like me as well. I got a massage from Julie. This was not your regular Reno massage. Julie uses forearms, knees, elbows, and used a combination of techniques (deep tissue, hot stones, and stretching). This was truly a great massage! I would highly recommend her and go back. The studio has a nice vibe as well, large room for the massage and massage table is heated and padded. Just bought a Groupon to try this studio. So far, I've taken two classes, Vinyasa Flow and Power Yoga. I am a beginner to intermediate yoga practitioner. I was able to keep up in both classes but had to modify some poses down to my level. Amy and Lindsay were the instructors. Both were friendly and knowledgable. They really made the class a fusion of working out your muscles while feeling envigorated and relaxed at the end. Love this studio!! read more

The 5 stars is for both the yoga studio and the restaurant inside The Studio. I went in to get a membership before I had seen the space because of their awesome deal and their website. I wanted to check out the raw vegan restaurant inside too. The food was amazing. Filling. And inexpensive. It is a beautiful space. Everyone is peaceful. I bought the membership which you should do because it is a great deal. I returned the next Wendsday night for acro yoga which I'd not done in a while and again those in the class and the instructors were genuine and helpful. With a place like The Studio in Reno why would you go anywhere else? You should eat here often for a beautiful delicious experience. read more

The place is neat and quaint. Need to try the tea time. Wanted to get into yoga so I went and tried the place out. The atmosphere that was received was not welcoming at all. The lady at the desk did not make me feel that I had chose a great or even good place to do yoga. Of all things she ended up being the class I was tryings instructor. The class itself was a good yoga class but there still was not a welcoming vibe from the instructor. This place was not for me. I'll have to check out other yoga facilities. read more

I love this place. It's everything a yoga studio should be, quiet and zen, with a free tea and water station (donations accepted) and a wall for your shoes. Mat rentals are included at no charge. They also include a keychain card with your membership to make it easy to scan-sign-in. I got the Groupon for 1 month of unlimited classes and a 1 hour massage. The classes were great, I don't like the idea of hot yoga, of which they offer quite a few, but they had a good variety of normal temperature classes as well. I never had a problem finding something to fit in my schedule. The instructors are great, really helpful and friendly. There's a cool community vibe with all the regulars and the instructors, but not in a cliquey way. Just friendly. The raw food kitchen is great, especially for people who want to grab convenient, healthy lunch before or after their class. And it's open now on some evenings now too. Eating raw makes your body feel healthy, and let's face it- Reno's raw/vegan options are extremely limited. The massage was awesome. I was pretty sore from all the power yoga I'd been taking, so I decided to try my first deep tissue. I don't have anything to compare it to but I left feeling sore and detoxified, and woke up the next day feeling like a new person! read more

I frequent Reno three months and I am so happy i found this place. I did the Sunday 11am Vinyasa class. The room was heated, which I perfer. I regular teacher wasn't feeling well so another one of the regulars filled in and was amazing! The staff was so nice and even didn't charge me for my mat. Next time I go I hope to try some of the smoothies and raw food. read more

Hot Bhakti Inspired Vinyasa with Mekala was by far the best yoga class I have ever been to! The room temperature was just the right temperature to make you sweat but so you can still breath. Her routine calenged me in all the right ways. I left feeling so recharged. Im definitely hooked! See you all again soon! read more

The studio is great. As the other post mentioned, they offer a wide variety of classes and physical fitness, from massage, thai massage, juice bar, and LOTS OF YOGA CLASSES. The yoga, in my opinion, is their strong point. They offer a diverse array of yoga classes, from hot yoga and intro classes, to yin and power yoga. I'm also excited for the upcoming yoga for rock climbers class. The space itself is very calming. I enjoy hanging out in the common space with a complimentary cup of tea after a good (hard) session of power yoga. I would recommend the studio to a friend. They offer a type of yoga for everyone. My only complaint is that I wish there are more classes on sundays. read more

Went for their Sunday heated Vinyassa, taught by Stacey Alonzo, and was blown away. First off, the space is gorgeous, with a juice/raw vegan bar, massage room, and even a low table surrounded by pillow seats in the middle of the main room so that you can drink complementary tea and relax after class. Second, the people are wonderful. Having only a little experience with yoga, I was looking for a studio with a non-judgmental environment where I could improve without feeling self-conscious or looked down on. I was not disappointed, as everyone that I interacted with was totally friendly and welcoming. Third, the yoga instruction itself was superb. The flow of the poses was very natural and the students were encouraged to move through them at the pace of their own breathing. This made it okay to be slightly out of sync with your neighbor, which kept the class from feeling rushed or anxious. Also, I attended the class with a friend who has been a student of Ashtanga for twelve years. She agreed that the studio and class were both of five-star quality and plans on coming to class with me whenever she visits Reno in the future. read more

I took a yin yoga class at this studio and it was subbed by someone other than the usual teacher. The sub teacher had no idea what yin yoga is and he taught Sun Salutes and other hatha yoga poses. I went for yin yoga, because I was recovering form an illness and was not in shape to practice hatha and here I was. I stayed through the class only because I have good manners. read more
