I took a yin class here last Sunday. What I have found at most Reno yoga studios is the rooms are always! heated even when it's not advertised as a "Hot" or Bikram class. As a yogi I prefer the heat should come from within...One student even complained when she walked in, I was like, "yes"! Only then did they open a window. The teacher was okay but it's never okay to use profanity of any kind in a class situation and it's quite offensive. Considering I was a first time student she should have watched herself. In the end the class itself was wrong for me; too many props used. My Yogis always taught me that props are not a good idea...and I agree somewhat. I have a block and a strap that can be handy when I've returned to my mat after many falls and severe injuries. I've been a Yogi for 24 years. I several advanced training courses that I've taken over the years. I attended the "Harvard" of Yoga schools in 2005. It's called White Lotus and is located in the stunning Santa Barbara. In a few years I will be opening up my own Yoga Studio in Southern California, I so miss my Cali, not the taxes just the vibe... Every now and then I go back to the Bay Area to teach private classes to my loyal students. The location of this place is in the busy midtown area of Reno. Thankfully the parking wasn't a issue on a Sunday at 3. The studio was very nice and clean. read more

I haven't done their yoga classes, but the tea lounge that they run on Wednesday and Friday nights from 7pm to 1 AM is super fun. They have a little bar with an engaging and capable host who focuses primarily on non-alcoholic drinks, hot and cold, with interesting ingredients like elixirs, dandelion & kombucha. She makes homemade tinctures that are on display and sale as well. They also run at variety of talks in intriguing topics. They have a room with comfortable chairs, low tables and carpets with fun suspended chairs and hula hoops! It's a rare late night chill option in Reno that doesn't involve alcohol ! Lovely yin and reiki class. The teacher was also so intuitive as she offered me reiki during swan pose which is often when I'm able to sink the most deeply and relax fully. It really added to the experience. The room had huge windows and it was so nice to watch the clouds passing by as I sat reclined in each pose. Incredibly peaceful. read more

Love. Most relaxing Friday night ever. My friend took me here as a surprise Friday outing. I guessed where we were going all day and never thought we'd go here. What a nice setup they have, it's beautiful. I've heard of the Studio before but never knew they put on a Friday night gathering. We ordered some amazing lattes and sat and chatted in their yogi decorated lofty room. Surprisingly I saw some old friends walk in and it made the vibe that much better. It definitely got busier as the night went on, seemed to pick up around 10. By then I was ready to go but wanted to stay longer bc it was getting fun. I recently signed up for the new student special at The Studio and I have been soooo impressed with the diversity and knowledge of all the amazing teachers and additionally the calming serenity and decor of both studio spaces. All of these factors have made me feel incredibly welcome and supported as a new student. However, one teacher in particular has really made certain that I will keep coming back long after my new student special has ended. I have predominantly been a bikram method yogi previously because I consider myself to be choreographically challenged and I always have trouble following along with all the changing movements of yoga classes. I often times get exasperated and anxious, feeling like I simply can't keep up, nor do I know how to adjust myself when I get off track and lost. However, the instructor Kat Ames has really helped me feel hand held and guided with the most incredible patience trying to help me understand how to really drop into every posture she recommends. Her kind corrections and adjustments feel gentle and supportive and I love how she actually SEES me and is paying attention to what I am doing - like my experience as a student in her class truly matters. Thanks to Kat I am learning new ways to use yoga tools like balls and straps and I can thoughtfully notice whether a posture is really softening the part of my body we are targeting because my teacher uses language that is so relatable and specific. Not to mention, I absolutely love it when she breaks out her sound bath bowls. They just make me feel like I am relaxing in another dimension. I don't have enough good words to accurately describe my love for this yoga studio. After around 500 classes and countless hours in this space, I am finally taking the time to write a well deserved, 5 star review. I can honestly say i enjoy every class on the schedule and adore every instructor I've met. I'm never nervous to try something new, because everything is beginner friendly and every instructor makes me feel safe. They remember me and make me feel welcomed every, single, time. I've met some amazing friends, and lifelong connections through The Studio. I'm so thankful. Not to mention, comparing to other studios in Reno, their unlimited monthly membership is seriously well priced. $121 for UNLIMITED yoga at TWO different locations? Killer! They have classes scheduled 7 days a week and everyday has different options, which i love! I have all of my friends start with the intro month special, and they always come back for more afterwards! My best friend had a horrible bout of food poisoning at the establishment. They went to apologise the other day and instead of hearing them out, my friend got banned. For food poisoning that wasn't even brought on by the tea they make. What kind of professionalism is that for banning someone who couldn't even control what was happening???? y'all must be robots with no humanity if you think this never happens with people. My friend was embarrassed for days and couldn't wait to get back and redeem themselves because they really liked the vibe and people of the place. My absolute favorite yoga studio in Reno. While many of the other yoga studios locally may be hotter, the studio truly captures the essence of yoga as a practice for the mind, body, and soul. I found that the other local yoga studios were only focused on the body aspect and lacked setting intentions, working with your breath and coming back to center yourself. I've attended hot vinyasa with Dustin, Tyler and Ivy so far, and have nothing but incredible things to say about each instructor. And let me tell you, these classes are still a great workout!! The Studio is located in the same building as the Blum dispensary. The signage is a little hidden for the yoga studio so as long as you pull into the Blum parking lot, you're good. A lot of the spaces when you first pull in are designed for Blum only. The back side of the building has spots that are free for everyone. The entrance is on the same side as the one for Blum. You have to go up two sets of stairs to reach the studio. Once inside however, I saw that there is an elevator that brings you directly inside the studio if you have accessibility restrictions. The space is quite cozy. There is some floor seating for lounging with cushions and tables at the appropriate height. They have a juice/tea bar as well but it wasn't open when I visited on a Saturday at noon. There is water to fill up your bottle as well as water, coconut water, and kombucha for purchase in a nearby fridge. There are cubbies for you to leave your shoes and belongings. There is a single all-gender restroom. I didn't see any other change rooms other than the washroom so it might be better to come prepared so you can avoid the wait. If you left your yoga clothes at home, want to pick up some props or a new mat, they have that as well! If you're a visitor you can borrow a mat for free. After class you leave it in the room and they will clean it off for you. One awesome thing about the pricing is that the new student special which provides unlimited yoga for $40 is open to those who aren't Nevada residents. Most studios don't like to offer that for out of towners. The drop-in pricing was $18 which was very reasonable and in line with other studios in the area. There are two big, bright studio rooms. There aren't any mirrors in either of them which makes for a different experience. I had Dustin as the yoga flow instructor. He took requests at the beginning of class and incorporated them really well into the flow we did that day. I felt realllly good after class. If I'm ever in Reno again, I will definitely be back for another class. read more

I love going to yoga classes and had decided to give The Studio a try. When I first walked in I felt welcomed right away and the girl teaching on that day was very helpful and friendly. I created my account online to make checking in easier. The Studio has two large yoga rooms and the front check in area has a lot of room to take your shoes and jacket off and small cubies to keep your things in. My first class was a donation based class so you pay as much as you want. I enjoyed it so much I decided to try the new student special where you pay only $40 for 30 days of unlimited yoga. This is great because it gives you a chance to check out a lot of classes to find out which ones work best for you. Check out the Studio schedule because you will defiantly find a class that works for you. Many classes are offered 7 days a week and include, Ashtanga, Relax & Renew, Yin, Strength & Balance, Hot yoga and a few other types. Not only do they offer yoga they also have a Tea & Elixir Lounge on Wednesday and Friday nights. I have not tried the Tea Lounge as of yet but it does sound like a fun night. They have live DJs, art, acroyoga and dance. Wednesdays 8-11pm, Fridays 9pm. -1 am I love this studio and look forward to coming here for my yoga practice. read more

I love this studio, it truly is my saving grace during covid life. Very accessible hand sanitizer, zoom offered classes, and I'm endlessly seeing the workers wipe and wash surfaces or items touched by people. Their bathrooms are always spotless. Almost always every face has a mask on it, though some classes leave it optional since the classes can get intense and hot. Every yoga instructor I've had the pleasure of interacting with has been so patient and kind, perfect for a yoga beginner like myself. I've yet to attend the tea lounge or try their numerous other specials of from facials to massages but I beyond excited to try them when I get a chance. One of my favorite things is their unlimited yoga for a month at an amazing prices offered with a variety of discounts and specials like their specials for students and educators. read more

She really knows what she is doing. Can't wait to go back and see her. Great pricing for the massage as well. Love that they have all of these offerings! Wish I would have been around when they had the cafe downstairs with more food options. Really the only con is the parking situation. Beware, don't park in the medical marijuana spots. There are some spots on the backside, but street parking is your best bet. Wish they had access to more spots, as most of the ones in the parking lot are empty, but sadly cannot be used for yoga. read more

I am so grateful to have found the studio. They offer an awesome variety of teachers and styles of yoga who all bring a unique but always welcoming, open presence to to class. I've been practicing for a few years, and I think a few of the classes may feel intimidating for a beginner (be sure to read the accurate class descriptions,) but what I really enjoy is that the instructors truly motivate you to go further without making you feel like you need to fit into a certain body type or exact same pose or image. I feel like my form, strength and flexibility has improved immensely since I started practicing here. Yet another great alternative workout! I love, love, love Yoga, and this place is perfect. Walking up the small staircase to the door at the top, I had my doubts. Yet all my concerns were erased the moment I took my shoes off and walked in. The room you walk into is larger than expected, calm and beautiful. It smells like essential oils and they play calming music. It's an instant transportation from the busy city life of Reno, to a tranquil and serene atmosphere. The Yoga instructors are sweet, kindhearted people. They do not judge you if you attend a class slightly above your level and cannot keep up...Err... No! That didn't happen to me!...They encourage you to do your best and even include ways to take strain off of the higher level poses for the...Err...people who can't keep up.....without interrupting the class to help you or single you out. They'll simply say right along with their lessons, "...And if this is too much, you can do this..." I absolutely love Sunday night meditation yoga. This class focuses on resting and relaxing into poses, rather than trying to go through many poses quickly. As you're settled into the most poses which can only be described as the feeling of pure heaven, the instructor comes by with essential oils for you to smell, rubbing some of them on your neck....I mean really people, what could be better than that...because I just can't imagine anything better in a Yoga studio! They accommodate you, they treat everyone the same and they care. You can just tell. read more

My second ever yoga experience was a Heated Vinyasa session and hot damn! The room was heated to 95 degrees and, wow, I sweat from places I did not know existed. My toes were sweating. It was intense. I am incredibly surprised I didn't pass out and/or humiliate myself in some way. I actually hung in for most of the moves. A real trooper. During the cool down, as I laid, staring at the sweat dripping from the armpit hair of the man next to me, I felt a real sense of calm, belonging, awareness. I felt zen. I felt like a yoga person. I think I will be returning to The Studio. I like the unpretentiousness, the vibe. I recently move to Reno from L.A. I was a little hesitant about the move. Being used to the city hustle and bustle, I thought that I was going to miss L.A. a lot. To my surprise, I only miss three things. One of them being the yoga studios that I used to visit on a regular basis, those that in addition to the practice offered live music, restaurant and other activities. I have checked out a few places in Reno and so far The Studio provides what I am looking for: yoga classes, workshops, wellness, lounge and special events with live DJs. I have been to a few of the regular classes, they may be challenging but the instructors make sure to suggest modifications for different levels. The lounge is small but cozy and has a cool ambience. Their yoga apparel is reasonably priced. Parking available. I have not tried the juices and teas but they look tasty. What I like the must is the special events, such as Black Light Yoga (so much fun) and 108 Sun Salutations. The Studio is a keeper. read more

The Studio is the perfect place for me to do yoga on a consistent basis. They have the best variety of classes which is really what sold me. I bought the Groupon that was out in June and I have since started a monthly membership which is something very hard for me to commit to so you know it's awesome! I consider myself to be an athlete and am very active so my yoga practice has typically been about injury prevention and maintenance and while I really enjoy the mental aspect of yoga it's really a side-note to why I am there in the first place. That being said, some yoga studios in the area I have experienced have been very pretentious if you aren't super into the "yoga lifestyle" and it's been a turn-off for obvious reasons. The Studio has not one pretentious point to it. Every instructor and massage therapist I have met have been nothing short of wonderful and that is something that I value very much. Not to mention the price for a monthly membership is very affordable as far as yoga goes. I haven't tried all the classes yet but some of my favorites are: Hot Stretch (not as intense and quick as hot yoga), Hot Yoga, & Vinyasa Flow. I have experienced 6 of the instructors and each one personalizes their teachings while keeping a good base for beginners. Another one of my favorite things about this studio is that they play great music that seems to fit the practice perfectly! Alright: This is the best studio in town, but don't take my word for it. This year, they were voted as such by the good people of Reno in the R&R, for the 6th year in a row. They're good. There are so many things that will keep me coming back. The teachers are amazing (Angie Fraley's class is inspiring and life changing in ways I don't know how to encapsulate in a Yelp review). She almost always incorporates a mental practice or theme in addition to the physical rigor: working with the mind and body. A couple of tips for her classes: arrive early (spots fill up quickly), and drink a TON of water during the 24 hours or so before. The space is relaxing and welcoming. The vinyasa (and non-Bikram) style hot yoga classes are challenging and approachable and will make you sweat in puddles and sleep like a baby that night. Every teacher I've taken a class from at The Studio is experienced, kind, and promotes a philosophy of self-love and nonjudgment. They all seem to agree: if it hurts don't do it! Be nice to yourself. Find your edge and hang out there. Whether you've never set foot in a studio or are working on deepening your practice, The Studio is fantastic. read more

I have had many massages before but none of them have ever been as good as the ones Jillian gives. She is a rare gem who knows EXACTLY what she's doing and what your body needs. She makes you feel so comfortable which is definitely important when getting a massage! I'm literally floating out of the room by the time she's done with me. This is the first time I have gone to a yoga studio (I usually do yoga at home) and I'm impressed. The atmosphere is great - I love the low lighting only because I am staring at a computer all day and it's just nice balance for my eyes. The staff are very friendly -not stuck up in the slightest and are very respectable to other people. So far, I've tried 90% of the classes and I have to say that my favorite is the Hot yoga. I have very tight hamstrings and lower back muscles when I first start and the hot temperature helps reduces the discomfort. I highly recommend trying this place. I never thought I would enjoy sharing a class with other people, but I'm starting to grow accustomed to it versus doing yoga on my own. I have not tried the raw food bar, but it always smells great! I attended a beginner yoga class as part of a Yelp event. The room is large, and warm, but not uncomfortably so (we'll see in the summer!). The instructor knew she had a group of mixed skill levels, and did a great job giving a nice variety of poses, and offering advanced and scaled down versions of each. At the end of a class, there is a final meditation where the instructor comes around to each person putting so essential oil in the palm of your hand. A nice touch to take with you as you continue your day...and might I suggest that you continue your day downstairs at the awesome little restaurant The Seed! read more

I've heard great things about The Studio and finally got a chance to check it out today. I love The Studio's cozy vibe. The warm, dimly-lit becouched lobby feels like you're walking into your hippie friend's house, not a business. It's inviting and comfortable. I settled right in and felt at home. The owner, Rachelle, is down to earth and friendly. Her wonderful, well-behaved, and charming pit bull "Chevy" can be found roaming the area and distributing genuine affection to any humans in a five-foot radius. More business owners should bring their pooches to work -- it puts a smile on my face. The class I took was for beginners. It was held in a pleasantly-trapezoidally-shaped room. The class focused on flexibility and calmness. The only thing I didn't like about the room is that it didn't have mirrors on the walls. I use mirrors to make sure my form is good and to keep my balance during the more athletic poses. I am not sure if their other yoga rooms have mirrors, but that's just my preference. I had some neck pain when I woke up this morning; I must have slept in a strange position and pinched a nerve. After the class, my neck didn't hurt any more! I walked out of the class feeling refreshed and pain-free. I'll be back for sure! read more

I just started attending classes here a couple months ago, and so far I'm really enjoying it. The variety of classes is great: whether you're a complete beginner, or looking for a challenge after years of practice, there's something for everybody. The studio is cozy and inviting, with cushions to sit on in the lobby before & after class. Haven't checked out the juice & elixir bar yet, as I think it's only open certain hours. Wednesday & Friday evenings they have playshop/acro-yoga/dj/music...sounds fun! The instructors are all very helpful, and ask before class if it's ok to come around and make adjustments during class. Props like blocks, bolsters, and straps are all provided, as is complementary mat spray to disinfect after class. There are actually 2 yoga rooms in this studio, to allow for overlapping classes during the day. Looks like a couple rooms for massage as well! I started my first month here unlimited visits on intro price through a Groupon, so look for that! After that, you can save $$$ by enrolling in monthly autopay, or if you're a student! The last review I wrote for The Studio pertained primarily to the food. So, I figured I should update with a review on their yoga classes and massage.....which are both Awesome! I have been attending classes at The Studio regularly for about a year now and I just cannot say enough. They are amazing! The instructors are extremely knowledgeable, helpful and kind. There are also a wide range of different types of yoga you can practice to work different mussel groups, different breathing techniques and find your perfect practice...from Yin, Kundalini, Vinyasa, Hatha, warm classes, hot classes and so much more. I just love it! Oh and their classes start at 5:30am and go until around 7:30pm so you really don't have an excuse. LOL! When your mussels are feeling sore or you just need some extra love you can have an amazing massage there as well! I've had several and it's the real deal body work massages....not those wax on wax off type massages. Afterward you can enjoy a cool coconut and yummy raw vegan lunch downstairs at The Seed, an extension of The Studio. Incredible!
