Yoga Pod Reno has been my yoga home for nearly four years, and I can't imagine my life without it. I completed my teacher training here and stayed because of the incredible teachers and the deeply caring community. I took my first yoga class at this studio this past weekend and was quite satisfied with it! I took the pod gentle class with Heather as my instructor. I really enjoyed the class and left feeling so at peace with myself. The temperature was at room temp, which I always prefer. But I still got a bit of a sweat going moving through the flows. This location itself is much larger inside than I expected. There are multiple rooms for classes. Everyone seems right at home. The only downfall for me was how untidy it was with everyone's personal belongings scattered in the lobby and even in the changing room. Overall, I'd return for another pod gentle class or something new. read more

I did the Hot Yoga with Kelsey, and she was amazing. Her soothing voice, along with clear instructions on positions, were wonderful since I haven't taken a class in a while. There are plenty of lockers and a really nice locker room that has showers, lockers, and bathrooms. They provide towels at no extra charge, which is great now a days with everything costing so much. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this place. read more

I haven't taken a class I didn't like yet. I love the expert teachers and the array of classes available throughout the day. I can always find a class that fits into my schedule, any day of the week. The classes fall within the following categories: Flow, Tone, Detox, and Restore. If you are a beginner or an advanced yogi, you can find the right fit. All classes are offered at different levels and the instructors are always willing to suggest modifications. You can make your practice as intense or relaxed as you want to. Some of my favorite classes are: PodFlow: The focus is on moving with breath control, creating a deeper awareness on all levels. The sequences are designed to build strength and flexibility. YogaTone: Combines yoga, strength training, and cardio in a high-energy workout designed to sculpt, burn calories, and improve physical well-being. PodHot: Takes place in a room warm room and is designed to build strength, balance, flexibility and promote a detoxifying sweat. HotFlow: Takes place in a hot and humid studio, focuses on proper alignment techniques and progressions. HotVinFusion: This is one of my favorites. It combines elements of PodHot and a vinyasa flow. The postures are designed to build slowly and get flexibility and strength. PodYin: Very relaxing, focuses on stretching. It is the perfect counterpart to more energetic activities. The studio is clean, comfortable, state of the art and enlivening. The props are nice and clean. The music is upbeat and at the right volume. The instructors are knowledgeable, creative and friendly and along with the students are an amazing community. read more

My daughter and I went in to find out if they have a location in Sparks. We were warmly greeted by Mike. Mike was really nice and informative about Yoga. He did inform us that they do not have a location in Sparks. They do have hot yoga and he gave us a card for a free class. If they were not so far away I would definitely give this Yoga location a try. read more

I really love this yoga studio. After my first class I was hooked. This is the cleanest, friendliest yoga studio around. They have so many different classes to choose from like Yoga Fit, Barre, Hot, and so many more. The staff is very friendly and will make you feel welcome right away. They offer a one week free trial before you have to sign up so you can try many classes to see what you like. There are also a few showers with soap, shampoo & conditioner, body lotion, and even hair bands in case you forget to bring one with you. You can rent a mat if you don't already have one or forget yours. I always leave feeling so good. read more

So I was in town just for the weekend and went to their Friday night Sweat & Heat, & Beatz class. There studio is clean and convenient. Bathroom/locker room was very nice. The flow of the class was good. I would describe it as a level one or basic yoga class. We added in a pose every few sets to our flow but near the end it was feeling seriously repetitive. The room was about 90° but I found it odd that they didn't turn down the lights down more even though they had a cool disco light ball. I was kind of expecting more of like a party environment giving the description of the class- lights off, fast beats, fast movement, but that wasn't the case. I didn't feel like I got a satisfactory savasana at the end. The teacher was still talking and she didn't switch the slow rock music to more classical yoga chill music... and I felt like it was only about a minute that we actually just got to lay there. I left feeling stretched but not like a had a work out. The instructor didn't really ask about injuries even though they may have known their general clientele, but things change every day and she didn't really give examples or suggestions to the class about how to take it back or step it up. That being said, I know I am a hard critic, both because I know what I like and I know what I don't and I am more of a faster Vinyasa power yoga person, as well as being in the fitness industry, however I would certainly go back again when I'm in the area to try another class. It was definitely not what I am used to at my regular hot yoga studio, but good in its own right. read more

I'm going to be honest. I resisted going here because it was a franchise. There are so many homegrown local yoga studios to choose from . . .I didn't see the appeal. At first glance the classes were pricey, and I just didn't get it. Yoga Pod offers an entire free week to try out as many classes as you'd like. Signing up is super easy (name, phone number, email-no credit card) and boom you are in. Due to summer vacation my current gym membership was paused, so I decided to try Yoga Pod until my other gym membership came back. Well let me tell you . . .I was pleasantly surprised! They have 3 rooms, so lots of different classes to choose from and so many different times of the day. I don't believe there is another studio in time with the same variety. As a Yoga teacher myself, I understand why this is so-it's hard to meet everyone's needs and justify class times when you have low attendance, especially during the summer. As a consumer, variety keeps me coming back. So, it's a gamble, but I think Yoga Pod is doing it right. I didn't use up my full week as much as I'd like-I tried 4 different classes. A heated Yoga class, some Barre classes, Podfit express, and a restorative Yoga class. All of the instructors were lovely, and the classes were great. The studio is super clean, the people at the desk are all friendly and helpful, they have lots of props, Manduka bolsters in 2 sizes, blankets, blocks, balls for Barre, weights in all different weight, and straps. They have showers (yay) for those of us rushing off somewhere else. I can't really ask for more in a Yoga studio. It has everything you would want. The only reason I am not giving it a 5 is price. It's pricey. It really is-if you are paying full price. If you happen to be a teacher, student, military . . .they offer generous discounts and I would say go for it-because with the discount it's very competitive with other studios. I know that as long as I live in the area, I will be at the Yoga Pod much more. I really can't wait to get more Yoga in my life. read more

The energy and kindness of this place is perfect. Sometimes yoga places can be a little intimidating with amazingly flexible super bodies making the rest of the room feel like underachievers. I LOVE this place! Every single person who works there is incredibly friendly and helpful. It feels like home every time I walk into the studio. The instructors began to learn my name rather quickly and those around me which provided comfort. There is seriously not a bad instructor at all! I'm so grateful to yoga pod and their team for the experiences they have added to my life. I signed up for the free week of yoga promotion and was hooked. The facility is clean. The front desk staff are warm and welcoming. The teachers are so amazing! They are so inclusive and encouraging, which makes coming to yoga as a newbie fun and not scary. They encourage you to try new poses while coaching you through the alignment and accepting all levels of abilities. Some teachers further enhance the experience by providing themes, meditations, and essential oils. The wisdoms they have shared have guided me both on the mat and off and I appreciate the amount of effort they bring to class. They also have yoga challenges (21/31) and interesting events (vino and vinyasa.) The facility is always clean. They have lockers and showers available for use. They offer props (blocks, blankets, bolsters, straps) to help you in class and all you have to do is bring yourself and your mat. read more

If Nirvana is a real place then perhaps it can be found here. I signed up for their free week of yoga and it literally changed (and continues to change) my life physically, mentally, spiritually. As soon as my free week expired I signed up for a whole year. I introduced my 14 year old A.D.D. daughter and she asked me to sign her up too. I got her a punch card good for 10 classes. I've tried about half of the different types of classes now and my favorite by far is the Yin class. In a Yin class you hold the floor poses for 3-5 minutes. You want flexibility? You want relaxation? You want yin. Get the free pass, go, and watch it change your life too. read more

I absolutely LOVE practicing yoga here! Hot yoga is my favorite, although they have many other options. The studio has two large hot yoga rooms, great locker rooms with showers (and fancy amenities!), and everything is super clean. The best part...the teachers and staff. Everyone is SO friendly and knows you by name within the first week. The vibe is very chill and welcoming. I'm so happy I found this community. To start, everyone is extremely kind! The instructors, the staff and even the members are super friendly and welcoming! Next, the place is extremely clean and everything looks like it's kept very sanitary! As far as the classes go, I've only ever taken two yoga classes in my entire life and both were here. The first class I took was pod1 and the second was pot2Hot! Both of them were amazing! Not only were the instructors excellent but the class itself was just what I've been missing in my life and in my weekly routine. I don't review much. I don't see the point a lot of times. I've done it in support of friends. I'v done it when I found a new place that I want to make it and be around. This Will be the first review that I have written Soley because I am inspired to the point that I need to put it down in written word to fully flush out my feelings about something.. and in this case it's yoga pod. In 2016 I was involved in a head on collision.. (right in front of the Tamarack Junction of course) I walked away with a broken sternum, seat belt/airbag kind of injuries but was alive. Wrong place, wrong time.. but could have been fatal.. without a doubt. Someone recommended hot yoga to me as a method to rehab my injuries. It was the single best thing I have ever done for myself and would highly recommend yoga to anyone, but more specifically, yoga pod. I cannot say how thankful I am to have found this slice of heaven!! I love yoga but living in a smaller town it is hard to find a studio or gym that caters to different types of yoga especially Bikram yoga. Yoga Pod is in a premier outdoor mall, The Summit Reno. It is in a great location and plenty of parking. They usually have at least 70 classes PER WEEK!! Amazing for any type of yogi. They have a classes that will fit your needs and your schedule whether you are a full time worker, part timer, stay at home mom, beginner, intermediate, or advanced yogi. They have 3 studios, showers, hair dryers, towels galore, blocks, weights, resistance bands, blankets, clothing for purchase, etc. They also conduct Certified yoga instructor classes :) The staff is great!! Very welcoming and you will see lots of the instructors in the classes with you. That is always nice because they back up there teaching by being students once in awhile. It is always nice to see employees stand by there employer. They have great help and a great foundation for all yoga needs. Definitely recommend 100%!!! read more

I've spent most of my adult years dying to try a yoga class, but WAY too intimidated to ever actually go. Finally I had a friend invite me here, and with a free week trial to start I had no excuse not to try it. My first class was "podflow 1" with Marisa Buckley. The classroom itself was not huge, but fully packed (apparently the first couple months of the year are this way... resolutions are still going strong!) The teacher took the time to introduce herself and get to know me and my abilities as well as helping me set an intention and assuring me that I could rest at any time. The class was challenging, and fell in line with most vinyasa flows I had tried in the past. I workout daily, and still felt challenged in the end. A few days later I was invited to try a hot class, which is the one class I've wanted to try the most! This was "podhot" with Megan Romo-Elliker. Again the teacher took the time to get to know me, introduce herself, and set a goal (which was just to not leave the room if I could at all help it, lolol!!) I fell in love! I fell in love with the class itself and the teacher!! She was intense, just like the class...she made me want to push through even though I was DYING! And she was nice enough to crack the door when you were finally on the verge of passing out (in the best of ways of course ). I would highly recommend this studio to anyone looking to "try" yoga for the first time, like me...or anyone looking for a new studio. They are friendly and helpful, the studio is smaller and comfy, the teachers are great at making you feel right at home, and challenged and to top it all off, they have an app that makes signing up for and paying for classes an absolute breeze! read more
