Very nice yoga studio and I enjoyed my class. It was a $20 drop in fee which felt reasonable for an hour long class in a nice studio with all the amenities (mats, bolsters, blocks, etc). I selected this class because it was a candlelight yoga session on Friday night and said it was perfect for beginners or intermediate yogis. I actually have a daily yoga practice but a very slow flow. It was caught off guard at what a fast flow this class offered! So much so that I had to take a break in the middle because I was having a hard time keeping up - and the temperature in the room was definitely easier, also something i was surprised they didn't advertise. The session was nice but I feel like the description was a bit misleading. I also didn't see any candles - although there were some lovely light fixtures lit up. I'd gladly come back and try another class - perhaps I'll check out one of their workshops too. read more

Another awesome yoga studio in Reno! Temple Yoga Reno shares its building with a restaurant and a few other shops. There is a parking lot there but it can be full depending on if you're going during a meal time. Luckily the surrounding area has some street and public parking that is available free of charge. After a set of stairs, the yoga studio is in your face. The studio is small but very cozy and inviting. The reception area is very small and is pretty much leads straight into the practice area. There are some cubbies for you to put your larger belongings and hooks for jackets but those get filled up quickly. The washroom is located outside of the studio and shared with the other businesses there. I would suggest coming already changed if possible. There is a water cooler to fill up your bottle. The instructor that was there helped us with check-in. They have mats that you can borrow if you were visiting like us. There are also blocks, bolsters, and blankets available. After that the other students had to shuffle a bit to make some room for our two mats - it gets crowded in there! We had a great class and I'd love to take another the next time I'm in Reno. read more

I have been coming here for about a month now. I enjoy classes with Kim the most. She is a little fast but once you get used to her teaching style, you will catch up. I love how at the end of the class, she give you cold towel while you relax after 45 mins of hot yoga. I've attended at least two other classes with another instructors but none of them do the same way Kim does. I definitely give this place a try and go to Kim's. read more

Not advertised as hot yoga, but 50 plus students crammed in small studio with no air flow. Walls dripping with moisture germs. Not good, especially duringcold and flu season. Class started a little late and went 45+ minutes late. Owner lady unpleasant. Guest teacher and ambience good. read more

So I've decided to get back into my yoga practice. This studio offers a great 1st time package 30 days for $30 add 30 more days for $60 for 1st time members/students. It's been a week since I've joined. The location is waking distance from my house. The schedule is great with my work hours save Saturday. The studio is small but it held 22 people on one of my classes! I thought I'd feel claustrophobic but it turned out to a great class. It's always a balmy 83 degrees in the studio which is great when it's cold out. There's a great vibe to the studio. Some times a bit earthy crunchy but like with everything in my yoga practice - I take what works for me and leave what doesn't for someone else. read more

This place is truly a little Gem! My sister talked me into taking a class with her here, and I'm so glad I did. My first experience was amazing. I attended Candlelight Restorative Yoga with Ray, it was nothing like I've ever experienced before. I'm very new to yoga and pretty lost with most of the moves, but that didn't stop me from having a healing experience. I sweated my butt off, almost threw up because I was so hot and chugged a bunch of water, and cried at the end....it was amazing. I have taken a few other classes, Temple has to offer and I really like them. The studio has great energy and I feel pretty comfortable in the space; because I'm so new I struggle with the poses and get nervous, but once the classes start I get into the grove of things. This place gives a great experience to your yoga practice. read more

I've shopped several yoga studios here in Reno, and Temple Yoga is definitely my favorite! The classes start slowly, with meditation and mindful breathing, and ramp up to a sweat-inducing intensity. Most classes are taught in a warm room, which I find to be ideal (not too hot, not cold). The amazing women who teach here are beautiful on the inside and out. There are no mirrors at this studio, so it's good that the instructors are great at offering suggestions and hands-on adjustments (if that's your thing.) Teachers are genuinely friendly, so you don't have to be their best friend to enjoy an enlightening conversation before or after class. "Temple" is a great word to describe this place. It is so peaceful, and I swear the teachers here have helped me improve my mental health as well as my physical health. When I lost my job, I practiced here almost every day, and through yoga and conversations with the teachers I found my way back to health and happiness. The classes are very therapeutic. Thank you! My only feedback is that it would be great if the floors were swept or swiffered before each class. I dislike when other people's hair sticks to the bottom of my feet. It's also gross to see hair and dust on the floor while doing poses like Superman on my belly. read more

Temple Yoga is my favorite yoga spot in all of Reno. The vibe is so welcoming that I can't help but instantly feel at peace when I walk in. Just make sure you give yourself time before class to find parking because that can often be a challenge after work. I have been going to Melissa's classes on and off since I was 16 (almost 9 years now and before she opened Temple)and I honestly don't feel like there's a better teacher in Reno! What I love most about Melissa's classes is that you don't just feel like you got a physical workout, but your soul feels worked out as well. She starts her practices with chants that I used to feel were cheesy and now they're my favorite part of my week! I always leave her classes feeling strong, relaxed and like I can conquer the world! And while I've praised Melissa in this post I've enjoyed many other teachers/classes at Temple as well. My husband and I do a 10 pack for $100 each. In the beginning of 2020, I was looking to enhance my physical yoga practice so I tried Temple. I soon was blown away by the beauty, uniqueness, and community Temple offers. I loved the atmosphere and flow sequences. Temple brings out the best vibes through it's classes. It holds the juiciness that yoga originated from. I found a true anchor to help enhance my physical practice and soothe my own soul. I'm from out of town but had to get a good yoga day in. Found this place on yelp. It's not like other yoga studios I've been to or normally practice at. This one is located upstairs and shares a hallway with other offices I think. There's no reception desk so when there is a yoga class in session the door will be shut and you wait in the hallway until the class is over. It is not a heated yoga room. But with all the bodies you can create a lot of steam and heat in the winter lol. It is very tight space as you walk in and find a cubby or spot to place your shoes and things. But it's a cute little place with wooden floors and window views of outside, the zen like decor gives it a great feel. I was happy with the instructor and the class flow she taught. What a perfect name. Temple yoga is such a special space to offer and accept whatever your yogi heart desires. The space is cozy - comfortable warmth and lighting. Always clean. Love that they offer all props and even little washcloths for sweat. The owner, Melissa, is the real deal. A workout, a workin, Mel offers a flow that is sure to help you tune in to what you came for. Sometimes there is chanting in Sanskrit in a really approachable way - I just join in and feel the vibes even if I was a little intimidated at first. Love all the teachers - Brittney, Rachel, Susan are some of my favorites. Also love that more than mat yoga is practiced - always other events (fundraising/service, meditations, community gatherings) going on. The classes at Temple Yoga offer the perfect balance of a kick-your-butt workout and a divine meditative experience. You always break a sweat and leave feeling a strong sense of inner peace. The classes really are suited for all levels. I brought many of my friends who were new to yoga, and they have now been with the studio for a month and a half and are continually strengthening their practice. Melissa is great at sensing what you need during your practice. She will break down every move if you are a beginner and she will not hesitate to adjust you if you need it. She also offers beautiful melodic chants at the end of many of her classes, and it is an experience unlike any other! The Mysore classes offered by Carol are great if you are trying to deepen your practice and learn how to do yoga on your own. I've never done a yoga teacher training, but this seems pretty darn close! You get one-on-one training and learn at your own pace. I was delighted to learn that a class like this is offered with the monthly membership. I also enjoy Sara's classes which make me feel like I've just done a full body workout. The room is comfortably heated, and she will focus on abs or any other parts of the body that you want to get beach body ready. I've never left Temple Yoga feeling less than 110% me. Your body will leave radiating with energy and joy. The teachers are great, and they really care about their students. It's a true temple for me and it is my hOMe away from home here in Reno! read more

I've been going to Temple pretty regularly for the past couple of years and though my heels will probably never touch the ground in downward dog, I've made lots of progress in other ways. The studio environment is very welcoming and people of all levels practice side-by-side. I've gained so much inner peace by coming here that I don't even think hateful thoughts about the people who easily hop into headstand and balance like gravity doesn't impact them (anymore). I come here for mental and physical health and I feel like the classes strike a good balance between the two. I appreciate the teachers and feel like they each bring something special to offer their students. In these times, when its so hard to find genuine community Temple is an amazing refuge. Studio 8 is a gem. The teachers, without exception, and the fellow students, with rare exception, are dedicated and genuinely welcoming. I've been in classes that had both really advanced practitioners, and practitioners that were beginners with physical limitations in same class, and both were guided and assisted with skill and sensitivity. As another reviewer mentioned - you will love the hands on adjustments. I've had good experiences at other yoga studios in town, but non that compare with what I've experienced at studio 8. read more

Love this place! Ive always wanted to practice yoga but in the past I've been discouraged because I really struggle with flexibility. I've tried yoga here and there over the years but I've never found a place that inspired me like Temple! The location and atmosphere are awesome but the teachers are what really makes this place so special . Everyone is so encouraging and helpful. They all have great vibes and each teacher has their own unique style. I also appreciate the fact that they are so light hearted, many times I find myself laughing and smiling in class. I recently moved close to the studio and purchased the intro month. I took the early yoga flow class with Keia. An amazing class, perfect balance of opening and strength. She had a slow flow in mind but recognized the energy of the class and stepped it up. I loved her cueing, flow and her energy. I also dropped into Shanai's class and her calm energy and direction helped me tap into my meditation right away. Perfect afternoon refocus and align. Looking forward to trying all the classes. I broke my neck last summer which was repaired with a screw - I'm not fused. - and was released from physical therapy in January. With the blessings of my neurosurgeon, I began yoga here in February. What I have gained in nine weeks boggles my mind. I was almost a beginner at first but the great coaching I've received, I have gotten up to an hour session in the studio, and thanks to Mysore (self study) I'm doing about a half hour at home. Both flexibility and strength have improved in this short time. I can back out of a parking space and get up off the floor! - I could do neither when I started. I've only just begun and know more good things are in store because for me now, yoga is a lifestyle. I can't think of anything better than this. read more
