    Vibes speak louder than words

Part of my mission to make myself feel at home in Reno is to find a yoga studio. I have been to a few and Midtown Community Yoga is one of my favorites. It is such a pretty and calming place. The city views from the practice rooms is very pretty. They have a wide variety of classes. Their motto "Yoga is for everybody" is very ad-hoc as they offer various styles for different levels, including families, and also great payment plans. I believe one of them is pick your membership price and there is another one only for veterans. How cool is that? They also offer a donation based class every day whereas must studios do this only once a week. Online sign up is very convenient. I have taken clases with different instructors and they are very kind and qualified. I keep this studio on my regular roll.

As a yogi I prefer the heat should come from within...One student even complained when she walked in, I was like, "yes"! Only then did they open a window. The teacher was okay but it's never okay to use profanity of any kind in a class situation and it's quite offensive. Considering I was a first time student she should have watched herself. In the end the class itself was wrong for me; too many props used. My Yogis always taught me that props are not a good idea...and I agree somewhat. I have a block and a strap that can be handy when I've returned to my mat after many falls and severe injuries. I've been a Yogi for 24 years. I several advanced training courses that I've taken over the years. I attended the "Harvard" of Yoga schools in 2005. It's called White Lotus and is located in the stunning Santa Barbara. In a few years I will be opening up my own Yoga Studio in Southern California, I so miss my Cali, not the taxes just the vibe... Every now and then I go back to the Bay Area to teach private classes to my loyal students. The location of this place is in the busy midtown area of Reno. Thankfully the parking wasn't a issue on a Sunday at 3. The studio was very nice and clean.
