Sent my son to pick up a to go order. -Short Rib Grilled Cheese (extremely greasy) -Chinese Chopped Salad (dressing is delicious) -Meyer Lemon Broccolini (extremely overcooked and limp) We called and Mo agreed to refund the side dish. I asked my son to return it to him so they can improve that dish. Vegetables should be cooked al dente only and sautéed in garlic butter with a vibrant color and bite to it. Overall, staff is friendly but food could improve and they can be gracious when explaining it to them. Weston was a bit condescending when the veggie was returned and explained. Slightly better than the Long Beach location, but I still left unsatisfied to the point where I almost wanted to use a random number generator to decide between 2 and 3 stars. Although my experience clearly could've been better, I chose the OK rating instead of "Could've been better" on Yelp. I had been to The Stand in Long Beach earlier this year and was so underwhelmed at literally every single aspect of my visit that it was a super disappointing end to what was already a busy day full of this and full of that. Surely, the Tustin location couldn't possibly do worse, right?! Well, maybe not necessarily worse, but definitely not better enough for me to understand how the place was pretty busy during the last hour of operation on Thursday. A line had formed on the left wall, and there were plenty of customers inside enjoying a nice dinner on an evening with the TVs showing a softball game and some basketball highlights. I was intent on ordering a Turkey and Veggie Burger to make $20 and redeem the $5 off offer for this month. This offer is only available at select locations, including Tustin and Long Beach, but not Whittier. However, it can only be redeemed once overall, not per location. There is a menu that greets you as you walk in, but the line wasn't long enough for me to stand in front of that menu. However, the line was long enough that I had a difficult time reading the menu above the front counter, even when I took photos of the menu to try to read it better. The way the menu was laid out also hindered my experience. Marcos was working the register at the far end of the front counter, which was opposite the end of the menu that shows the BYO burgers, but I couldn't see the list of condiments very well from that register. As a result, I had to snap another photo of the list of condiments and recite from there which condiments I wanted in my burgers. To make things easier for Marcos, I chose the same condiments for both burgers, but didn't realize until well after that I had forgotten to mention the word "aioli"! Perhaps another reason for my oversight was the front counter being void of pickles and chips, which I remembered seeing at the Long Beach location. I asked Marcos about those, and he mentioned since they were going to close soon, they weren't giving them out anymore. It was ~40 minutes before closing. I don't think it was *that* close to closing time, but he did say he'd get me some. Marcos estimated between 15 and 20 minutes for my order to be ready. Plenty enough time for him to fetch me some chips and pickles, but instead, he went to make shakes for other customers. I thought he would have stayed true to his word, but he never did. The wait was 20 minutes before a different employee called my name. She didn't seem appreciative of my business either. Perhaps they know who their regulars are and treat them like members of the bourgeoisie or aristocracy; I felt like a member of the peasantry instead. I ordered the burgers to go because I had a feeling they would have kicked me out if I was still eating inside at 9 PM. I was pleased they actually labeled the boxes Turkey and Veggie so I'd know which was which, but I wish the font sizes were bigger. It was so small you might need a magnifying glass! Even without the sauces, the burgers were somewhat better than what I had in Long Beach, but definitely not mind-blowing. The complimentary vegetable toppings didn't add a whole lot of flavor for each burger. I found it a little annoying upon opening both boxes that I had to turn the burgers around to actually see the inside since I usually let my phone eat first. And lastly, when I went to take a photo of the menu QR code right next to the front door, I saw Marcos at the front door. I was hoping he'd remember to give me some pickles and chips like he promised or at least wish me a good evening, but he instead shut the door almost in my face, practically failing to acknowledge my presence from a mere feet away. I guess that is symbolic of how truly my patronage is valued at The Stand. I almost gave 2 stars for an experience like this, but I chose to bump it up to 3 because, like I said, the burgers tasted better than at the Long Beach location, so that had to count for something. Plus, forgetting and forgoing the sauces when I had the chance(s) was on me; I thought they would have been annoyed if I had asked well after ordering or that they would have said no if I was already snubbed out of complimentary chips and pickles. I also believe that The Stand in general is more deserving of a 5 out of 10 rather than 4 out of 10, and since I had already given 2 stars to the Long Beach location, I figured there was barely enough to give 3 here. To sum it all up: Did I feel valued as a customer? No Did any of the burgers knock my socks off? No Was I surprised at answering no to the two questions above? No Will I return to this location? No, and that's even if I lived in Tustin or close by. read more

Great experience; 2nd time trying The Stand, 1st at this specific location. The genuinely nice Customer Service was the cherry on top. Lulu (took our order) and Tu (bussing the tables and offering to get us anything else needed) were both very helpful and kind. The Food was pretty good, our family ordered 2 different made-to-order burgers (beef-which was actually made how asked, medium-rare, and chicken), onion rings (slightly burnt but still good), and a kids Mac n Cheese + sweet potato fries, both yummy. The Ambience was just slightly loud/chaotic for sensitive ears but pretty common/normal for this type of eatery. Overall, 10/10 and would not only come back but would 100% recommend. read more

Came in for dinner tonight and we got great service from Joe. He helped clean a booth for us and recommended his favorite sandwiches, the new Chicken Pesto Melt substitute the bun for toasted sourdough and the Short rib grilled cheese. We used the app to order both of his suggestions and added pickled jalapeños and banana peppers and bacon to our pesto chicken. Service was quick and I probably should have added a note that we were dining in, so it all came out packaged. However in the end, it was probably a good thing because we had 1/2 a sandwich left so could just bring it to go! The Chicken Pesto Melt was excellent. Joe was right when he said he's eaten it for 5 straight days and still likes it! The short rib grilled cheese was good, but a little bit too salty for my taste. My 12 year old son and I love this place. While he goes for a more traditional cheeseburger with the usual fixings, I do more of a create your own burger that has something...something ...bleu cheese...something...more bleu cheese. Sooo goood. Their fries aren't the best but aren't the worst. They're good. The shakes, though, are worth the calories I am sure they pack on. Seriously, you must try the shakes. I had a frustrating experience here that left a bad impression. I asked for a water cup for my toddler and was given one without a lid. When I asked if they had lids, the employee (a young kid behind the counter) said no, but that I could buy a fountain drink if I wanted a cup with a lid for my toddler. They offer kids meals, but apparently expect you to purchase a separate fountain drink just so your child can have a lidded cup. Pretty unreasonable. We've tried the Onion stack and Havarti mushroom burgers, chips & guac, and their shakes. Their burgers are filling, whatever seasoning they use is tasty, buns fresh. The shakes are decent size, not quite the size of shake shack, but tasty nonetheless. We've also tried the Chimichurri steak salad. I got two hot dogs, the mushroom burger, cucumber limeade and Thai tea milkshake on uber eats. The hot dogs were great with a good selection of toppings although they kind of skimped on the veggie toppings and I would also like to see sauerkraut as an option.. A lot of places make disappointing hot dogs but this place satisfied my craving. I recommend a try. Although the toppings had me exited, the mushroom burger was dry. I ordered a medium pink patty so it would be juicy but it was a little too pink. And the mushrooms and patty were a little dry. When I make burgers at home I'm using fresh lean beef and it always comes out pink center but hot and juicy. I don't know why it never turns out that way in restaurants. Little disappointed with the burger but I will go back to try the French soup burger. The cucumber lime was nice but small and no ice so it was warm. They should use a larger cup on put a good amount of ice and a squeeze more of lime. The Thai tea milkshake was nice but could go a little heavier on the Thai tea. The Stand has recently expanded to Tustin, and it is certainly a much-welcomed addition to the already vibrant local burger scene. It is an order-at-the-counter type casual dining restaurant. The décor is contemporary, and the place feels spacious and airy. Outdoor patio seating is also available and is always pleasant on a beautiful Southern California day. Their signature - which is also my favorite - is The Stand Burger with their secret "stand sauce". Lettuce, tomatoes, grilled onions, and pickles are standard toppings. There are also free toppings such as banana peppers, relish, onions, etc. that you can add at no additional charge. Premium toppings such as cheese, bacon, fried egg, or avocado cost anywhere from $1.00 to $1.50. There is also a "build your own burger" option. My other favorite is onion soup burger which comes with a very rich onion au jus for dipping. Be warned that the strong onion component of this burger could be overwhelming for some people and is strictly for onion lovers only! For a place best known for their burgers, the menu is actually very extensive and includes a large variety of salads, wraps, and sandwiches. And when you get a chance, don't forget to try their quarter pound "The Stand" hot dog which is always freshly grilled. read more

Oh wow. What a pleasant surprise. The burgers are pretty solid. Even with medium well, they stayed juicy. We also enjoyed the chimichurri steak salad. Refreshing and crisp. I thought this was just ok - the portion size was decent and most parts of the salad were good, but the Ahi tuna itself was really frozen and kind of chewy which ruined the experience a bit for me. I been here twice with coworkers for a team lunch and a late dinner. Two things that stand out here is the great selection of beers. To eat I had the mushroom burger! Can't believe I just discovered this restaurant, and it's been around since 2003! The ahi tuna salad was great. Generous portion of seared tuna, combination of fresh ingredients, and flavorful. The ABC burger came with avocado, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and ranch. I appreciate being able to add on any of the listed condiments for no additional cost.
