Excellent food. Our server was a little bit snobbish. I think this restaurant has its regular families that come in and dine. I could tell because they were all fairly loud. We could also smell cigarette smoke while we dined on the garden area. The four stars is for the food. Two stars for the service. Don't order the Creme Brûlée. I have had much better. My friends ordered the lamb chops and I ordered a pasta dish, both were very good. The hostess says that the kitchen closes at 11:00 pm but I would get to the restaurant by 10:30pm at the latest. The part that was interesting was the critters running across the Terrance above the outside seating. Some at our table felt they were mice or maybe chipmunks, one person even thought rats! The food is good. The service is AWFUL. Management simply needs to put more wait staff on the floor. I saw only 2 servers for a rather large restaurant. We were there 2 hours and only had main courses. It took a full 45 minutes before the server took our order. Based on how long it took to see a waiter, we opted to skip starters and just order mains. Another full 45 minutes go by before the food comes out. The food is decent. No one checks on you after your main course is served and after, the waiter doesn't come by to clear plates OR ask about dessert. We got the check and left. This is not the waiter's fault...this is a mis-management issue. Seriously amateurish running of a restaurant. Get it together. Tucked away behind a wall of lush greenery is this romantic little spot. In fairness, the size of the restaurant is actually unassuming. It wraps around and goes for a while. The ambience is amazing, a far cry from your average restaurant in Burbank. The food is superb. My wife got the salmon, which she absolutely loved. The small side of past which accompanied it was fantastic as well. I had the barbecue skewers which were also quite tasty. Service was top notch. What a disorganized place. Hostess never offered a menu when we were fitted. Took 10 minutes asking twice to our waitress for the menu. We ordered salads and dinners. The space is lovely and the back area is secluded and romantic. The service is mediocre, the food...not go great. The live music terrible. We ordered the Calamaretti Fritti $15.00, The Club Branzino $29.00, the Saffron Risotto with Dayboat Scallops $26.00, Fries $6.00, Crème Brûlée $7.00 and Tiramisu $7.00. The calamari was overcooked and tasteless. Branzino's presentation was great; however the fish was very small. Once taken apart the edible part was probably 3 oz. They gave us a large portion of risotto which was tasty. We asked and were told that the dish comes with 5 large scallops; however, ours only had 3 medium size which were fried in oil, were greasy and lacked flavor. The fries were delicious. The cream portion of the Crème Brûlée was very sweet and full of unmelted crispy sugar. The caramel topping was soggy and undercooked. The tiramisu was nothing but whip cream topped with cocoa powder. When we first walked in they were playing jazz music (CD) which was pleasant. Soon the live music started in a distance back room. Only the people that were in the room or in a very close vicinity were able to hear the music. The rest of us heard a low sound coming from the speakers that kept cutting out. This continued for the rest of the evening. The place is pleasant; however the management should seriously consider bringing the live music outside and make it center stage so all the patrons can enjoy the music. They truly need to improve their dishes and hire more servants. Adding a liquor license will help their business; currently they only offer wine and beer. read more

We had a birthday lunch spent a lot of money on all kinds off food. One of our orders were a Rib Eye steak. The steak was all full of fat with no meet to be found. We asked the waiter about it he said that's normal. We then request a refund for that unfinished plate and their response was that's normal and we can only give you 10% off. A Hidden Gem in Burbank We experienced a very pleasant, not to mention tasty, meal at The Stage on a Tuesday evening. Both our dishes were excellently prepared in a timely fashion, and we loved relaxing under the canopies while surrounded by lots of greenery. It was like we'd escaped to another world. Do try the pistachio gelato dessert, too -- very refreshing! Service was slower than we would have liked, but since we had no deadlines, it didn't really matter. I have definitely had better fish tacos. The fish was bland and the shimp was over cooked. In my shrimp tacos they gave me a total of 2 pieces of shrimp if you can even call it that. The rest of the taco was all lettuce! I asked for ranch and the waiter said they didnt have ranch and gave me ketchup instead! Other then my food the place is nice and very quiet. My boyfriend wanted to bring me here cause he knew i have been wanting to come here! We tried the apple stroodle and that was yummy! I will be going back just to try something different! I reserved this place for a party of eight and chose the first package on their website. Let me tell you, we got appetizers for a party of two and dinner for a party of four. I called the day after and expressed my disappointment and told them how embarrassed I felt in front of my friends. The lady told me that they served us extra food. I never asked for extra food. I simply asked for what I paid for, which was the package on their website. There were two slices of each cold cut and each appetizer served for a party of eight. I was also told that the package is for six to eight people. Then, why am I paying for eight people and getting food for six! Very disappointed! read more

Very beautiful place, great environment and wonderful food. First off the restaurant itself has the most beautiful environment and a variety of choices of seating. You can choose either inside, outside, patio or the garden area. Also there is always music playing. The stage has a very relaxed and comfortable environment. Now for the food. The food is absolutely spectacular. There's is a lot to choose from. Crepes or Omletes for breakfast, sandwiches and pizzas for lunch and a wide variety of dinner entrees including pastas, BBQ skewers and many more. Not only is the food delicious but it also has great presentation and comes in big amounts. Understandable that this is a brand new restaurant and they will have minor flaws, but nothing too difficult to fix. I will definitely be returning to The Stage soon, and I have very high hopes for this place. I see it becoming very successful. Keep up the good work guys! read more

Everything seems freshly done and that, though positive, causes delays, which would take half a star away. I gave this place a few chances - came here for lunch and dinner. Didn't try their breakfast yet. I am sitting in their Veranda with a glass of wine as I write this. Pluses: food - consistently amazing, whatever I tried - steak, salads, jambalaya, really - whatever; music - OK, except when they have a guy playing piano, who is unbelievably good, Carnegie Hall class; atmosphere - outside you feel like in a small city park, green and beautiful; inside - very nice with flowers, as a nice touch, and recently - artworks on the wall and wine displays; smoking - there is a special designated smoking area outside, away from the rest of the tables, which is good. I do smoke but don't like to bother others. Internet - free wi-fi Minuses: service - inconsistent, on certain days it's super, on some days it would hardly qualify for 3 stars; no host - you walk-in and have to find your way and it's not a small place, with little streets waiters - again, some know their stuff and some can't answer a simple question. It seems that the owners are still in the hiring mood as I see new faces on each visit; no managers in sight - it's hard to figure out who is in charge of this place should you have an issue. There is a big guy often around who seems to have an air of authority about him but he does not look approachable. Recommendations to The Stage: don't change anything about the food - it is really-really good! Get more waiters. Get a host. Get more wine and beer. Get a menu for kids. read more

This place is beautiful!!! The atmosphere is wonderful . However, leafs start with the menu. I wasn't sure if it was seafood .. Mediterranean... or not sure is what I can say . I would start with let's pick a theme and stick with it . Appetizer... not much choices , and very small portions . I would do Mediterranean smaller platter with cheese and crackers and salami, if your only serving wine and beer. The place is simply fxxxing amazing. We had two appetizers to die for: calamari, goat Chee and beer phyllo roll. For entrees we had black cod and the club branzino.... Place is too 5 of all the restaurants I have been to, at least regarding sea food... As you can see I don't usually write reviews but this place definitely deserves it. If u place a reservation, u are also seated in one of the nicest places in the restaurant, we were seated outside and the whole experience was fantastic.
