Came for take out during lunch a couple times and I'll definitely try to come back to sit down to eat. They just expanded their restaurant and now they have new tables that can accommodate bigger groups. From the little interaction I had, they seem like nice and enthusiastic people, who are happy to work there. Their food is pretty good. The quinoa quesadilla is currently my favorite, because of the healthy, refreshing, and yet filling feeling I have after. The BBQ turkey monterrey quesadilla is also very good as well. The only items on the menu that I have tried that are a miss are the wonton appetizers. The chicken in the wonton looked/tasted like baby food paste. My coworkers couldn't even swallow the wonton bite. The sweet potato wonton was not too bad, especially in the coconut milk sauce they gave us. But please fry the wonton up a little more to give more of a crisp! I tried their elixir, which is amazingly refreshing and good. The cactus elixir, the only one I have tried, has ginger and mints inside. LOVE it! But I am sure the others taste just as refreshing. A plus is that it comes in a huge mason jar (that you can take home when ordered it as take out). This was meant to be. We were waiting on a movie to start next door and decided to grab a bite to eat. We walked in on a rainy Sunday morning and this place had about 7 tables full...that was a good sign. I ordered the complete protein salad and the hubby had a Caesar salad and French toast. My salad was huge and served with a delicious honey vinaigrette. When I tell you that this was the best salad I've ever had... I truly mean that. The almonds, feta, quinoa, spring mix, baby spinach and cacao were perfectly married. The French toast that I sampled was also scrumptious. And the hubby loved his Caesar salad. Late lunch really hit the spot! Delightful homemade soups- we enjoyed the Potato Leek and Pumpkin Chipotle Cheese immensely. Both were rich and delicious- the bowls were enough for us to finish with just the Big Dipper and amazing hand cut shoe string fries...the Big Dipper is their unique hummus using eggplant and black beans - not traditional but refreshing with a hot pita for dipping. If we lived nearby I would love to sample the many other unique menu items and applaud the owners on fresh, healthy choices! Arrived at 9 when they opened....sat by the window....dirty, dirty. The window sill was disgusting, table had barely been cleaned, seat had crumbs on it. Ordered eggs scrambled, they came out fried, toasted rye bread was hard. Waitress offered to correct the egg issue, said no, I'd eat them. Husband ordered banana French toast, very big portion, 5 slices of challah bread. He liked it. The place has no acoustics, so as other parties arrived, it was hard to have a conversation. I love this place. What makes them unique is very fresh ingredients. While they have unhealthy options like French fries they also have lighter healthful items like my favorite the Feel Good. On of our favorite stops when we visit New Jersey! I always start with the lavender lemonade. At first I thought $5.50 was a little much for a non-alcoholic beverage, but it is always made fresh and served in a large mason jar. Well worth it! We shared the homemade kettle chips and queso. It was just enough to start and not too filling. I also ordered the flacos, which is mahi mahi served on three tostadas with lettuce and chopped tomato. Excellent, well seasoned and a great portion. I've been here about 3 times now and I will definitely be back again. There are some really great things about this place: really cool specials, great hot tea selection, vegetarian and vegan options, healthier options, and a cute, easy-to-instagram kind of vibe. The only negatives are that there can occasionally be temperature issues (one person will get a piping hot soup, another in the party will get a lukewarm soup). I think the menu can also be a bit overwhelming your first time there, as there is the special menu and the regular menu, but I'm not about to start complaining about having too many options! Overall, this is a solid choice--we stop in every time we're in the area because there is always something interesting on the menu to try out. read more

Well, this was okay. Really nothing to be joyful about and nothing to be disappointed in. We were looking for a simple, healthy meal before a triathlon and this fit the bill. My chicken and rice bowl was fairly bland and simply assembled. I added their Kimchi which was more tart than spice and not very well balanced. The green beans were slightly under cooked and I used about half the salt shaker to give it some life. My wife couldn't finish her sandwich. It was overly cheesy, bland fruit apples, terrible bread toasting and not a great over all composition. I wouldn't tell anyone this was the worst meal I have ever had but the three stars are clearly for the fact that we didn't get sick and the service was spot on. Um, yes please. I went to the spot while visiting family on vacation. And it really hit the spot. *rimshot* I am a big fan of small businesses and of fresh and tasty food. The Spot has both. I started off dinner with a red thai iced tea which was very good. I had the sweet potato soup which I also really enjoyed and my brother had the potato leek soup which was a tad salty. The entees came out and I was very impressed. My sister's challah french toast with bananas was gigantic (2 breakfasts worth of food) and really delicious. My dad had the blackened chicken grilled cheese which was equally good. I had the sesame tuna with soba noodles and green beans which were again great. All of the food was really fresh and humongous portions. The service was also really good. It was just one waitress for the whole place so she did a good job being the only one there and she gave good recommendations. Overall, a solid A in my book. I will be back. read more

There's only one restroom which wouldn't be ideal for a packed restaurant, but I guess that's okay bc they use thick high quality toilet paper. :p There are two menus: a special's menu and their regular menu. I wanted to order their goji berry lemonade elixir, but they were sold out. Bummer :( From looking around at the other tables, the food comes out pretty quick and the customers look happy with the choices they've made. The smells from their plates were intoxicating. I ordered: Golden Lamb Salad - which consists of spring mix, housemade Greek vinaigrette, basmati rice, beets, onions, feta, pickled cucumbers, marinated lamb and pita. One word: WOW. For a salad that costs $15.50 I am not mad at all. The bowl was filled with spring mix. It better be for the cost hehe. This mama was definitely craving her veggies. I typically stay away from lamb bc of its gaminess, but for some reason I couldn't resist ordering it today. I am so happy I ordered this dish. Nice amount of lamb and it was grilled perfectly and seasoned just right with onions and garlic. YUM! Everything complimented each other so well. The feta was mild with a slight tang, not too salty or overwhelming at all. The housemade cucumber pickles were perfectly balanced and not overpoweringly tangy. DELISH. I killed this salad and I am not bursting at the seams at all. I was planning on packing half or so togo, but I said to hell with that and enjoyed the whole damn thing! :) The Spot definitely hit the spot today and I am so happy I dropped by on a whim for lunch. Intresting unique menu I had sliders w bacon and peanut butter which to say the least was an odd combination I eat a low carb diet so I asked them to hold the rolls the sliders were small but there was enough for me to feel satisfied and happy I wish they served some sort of breakfast all day but they do not. I am still searching for a properly prepared omelette in the South Jersey culinary wasteland I bet the Spot would be the place but my visits there have always been for lunch read more

I love the waste free approach they take by serving drinks in mason jars & the food is delicious, healthy, and definitely sustainable. We love the Spot, it's our go to place for dinning out, every now and then we stop in for lunch as well! They have such an original menu...everyone in my family has at least two favorites. My kids love the peanut butter 'n jelly banana sandwich with a side of apples & honey, the sticky bun French toast, banana infused challah bread, grilled cheese, cheese burger sliders...and of course chicken strips & fries! My husband and I like to order the soups, some of our favorites are the roasted tomato rice and the spicy black bean soup. I like to order the the chicken flacos and the wrapped scallop dish. The veggie platter comes with fried egg plant fingers, falafel, zucchini, on brown rice. It was delicious. The split pea soup however was too vinegary. My overall experience was lovely.
