Service is so friendly even on a busy night. It's a little tight, but that's what you get when you get to the OC Boardwalk Restaurant. My wife loved the crab cake grilled cheese. I got the BLT. Meh. Pretty good fries. The crab thing my wife loved means we'll be back. read more

Whenever I go on vacation for a week in Ocean City, I always eat here 1-2 times! It's right on the boardwalk and the servers are really nice. You can also get a 'Del's Grill' shirt for a fee! read more

We visited Del's Grill on the Ocean City Boardwalk near 10th Street for the first time. The staff were incredibly nice and our waitress, Brooke, was very attentive. The ambiance was perfect--quiet with medium-volume beach music playing, giving it a beachy and surfer vibe. The menu offers plenty of options, and the inside was very clean. I ordered a burger and asked for it medium-rare, but since they serve "smash" burgers, it was cooked well done. Despite this, the burger was fantastic! The fried onions and bacon added a great kick. All the food was great, and we enjoyed every moment. Highly recommend Del's Grill for a delightful dining experience! read more

Del's was a pleasant surprise! We had the cheeseburger grilled cheese and the pizza cheesesteak, and both were delicious. Great food, generous portions, and friendly service. Definitely deserves better Yelp ratings than it has. We'll be back! read more

Watch out - they cheat you. I ordered 2 sandwich's which were to come with pickles the I asked about pickles on a third sandwich. When I picked up the order, I found they were charging $1.50 for extra pickles. I was in a rush, so paid for them. But when we got to eat, found out there were NO pickles in the first two sandwiches and that the extra order of pickles was only two pickle slices. Not highway larceny, but not honest With regard to the food, not including promised pickles left sandwiches sort of flat. I had called in the order snd it was ready on time. That's about the only good thing I can say I do not plan on returning. Too put off by being overcharged and shortchanged. I give one star because I cannot go lower. read more

Good Boardwalk Food Staff is nice & they work really hard. Food isn't award winning but it's got flavor , it's good & consistent. Stick with the sandwiches & the starters you'll be satisfied for sure , not a fan of their salads. Keep it simple. Fun laid back environment, good for families ! read more

A favorite for years on end! Today we got grilled cheeses. Mine - with crab cake - STUPENDOUS!!! Ive been wanting to try this combination for a few years now. Good price, nice staff, healthy options. read more

I got the big misteak cheesesteak, I rode a bicycle down from the St James place beach. My daughter had recommended it from the other night when she was at Dels and it looked wonderful. The seeded roll impressed me enough to give them a shot. When I got there I learned you could not eat in for take out orders which I thought was a bit ridiculous especially since there were about 15 of the 20 tables available. I didn't realize I had to ask for the seeded roll. That's ok the cheesesteak was great even without it. The person who checked me out was nice enough to cut me a break and all was good! read more

I have been coming to Del's since The owner Tracey was a waitress and it has always been good. The tableside service is fast , friendly and efficient. They keep the place extremely clean which has always been a hallmark of the place. It's one of the few places on the boardwalk that is air conditioned so it's always a pleasant temperature come the heat of the summer. They have a pretty diverse menu of a boardwalk resteraunt but cheesesteaks are the staple. They make a good product which is impressive because there are a lot of good cheesesteak restaurant in OCNJ. Plenty of other choices but remember it's all grilled. I have had shrimp, chicken, crab cakes over the years and it was always good. Prices seem fair. The only complaint my fellow diners ever had is that they replaced the skinny fries with thick fries. Doesn't affect the review but impacts the nostalgia. Well worth the visit read more

Dels is a place we always come to for a good lunch on the boardwalk! Wraps are great, crab cake sandwiches too! There's a lot of options in the menu, and the service in my experience, has always been attentive. read more

Terrible service. We ordered a cheese steak and a cheeseburger.Pretty simple, right? The waitress never put our order in, and they were in such a rush to close, we never got our order after 1/2 an hour wait. The worst service ever. read more

The saving grace for Del's is that it's right on the boardwalk and it offers a pretty big menu and space for a sit-down dinner. On a boardwalk where most options seem to either be sweets or pizza, this is definitely a needed restaurant! Servers are friendly and are on top of service so that tables can get turned quickly. The food is just average though. I had a cheesesteak with provolone and onions which was OK but it was a little not skimpy on the meat and that really made the sandwich seem kind of dry with it tasting like it was just a lot of bread. I will say that the old bay fries were SO good though! Definitely get those. They had a great crispness to them and the seasoning was perfect. Compared to the other boardwalk options this is a good place for a quick, affordable meal and a menu with a lot of options. read more

I was very happy with the crab balls and coconut shrimp I had and the employees are very nice and talkative great food and service.

I have always loved this place. It's small and cute, the staff has always been very nice to us. The food always hits the spot and prices are reasonable. This place holds a lot of sentimental value to me as it was the last place I dined with my grandmother before she passed. She really wanted a crab cake and we stopped here because it was pouring rain, and we ended up finding a little gem read more

Overview: right on the board it provides something different for lunch or dinner that you aren't getting anywhere else on the boardwalk. Boasting a deep menu of seafood along with burgers and known for there cheesesteaks. There is something for everyone and being on the boardwalk is a plus. Specials: cheesesteaks are what they are know for so if it's your first time I would check out the cheesesteaks Food: We have come here every year, more out of tradition at this point than can't miss food. Cheesesteaks and fries are our go to. They are very accommodating for how you like it so don't be afraid to ask for any condiments or hot peppers or whatever you like. Service & Staff: Staff has always been nice and food takes about average time. No complaints here. Overall Score: Overall I would give it a 2.8, now this may chance if I had their seafood. It's good but forgettable read more

Fast & friendly service and great quality food. Really good chicken cheesesteaks. Good family place on the boardwalk!

one of my favorite spots in ocean city to sit down and eat at. most of the time i feel like i'm doing take out and eating it outside of the restaurant, but for some reason i enjoy eating inside here. food is tasty and you can't go wrong - you can get seafood, cheesesteaks, salad, and a handful of other things. there's neat decor on the walls to give a beach-type feeling. on top of that, the service is excellent! read more

Del's Grill - dining area straight to the back - American Near Me - Ocean City, New Jersey

Growing up in Pennsylvania, the New Jersey shore was a regular vacation spot. My father, originally a Philadelphia native and a huge cheesesteak fan would commonly disappear from family activities to sneak off to Del's Grill on the Ocean City, NJ boardwalk to grab a cheesesteak. I finally returned to Ocean City after not vacationing there for years and decided to stop at Del's for lunch. As a kid I always remember Del's having really good cheesesteaks, but my last time there I decided to try something different so I went for the soft shelled crab sandwich. The sandwich was really good; it was a deep fried soft shelled crab stuffed with crab meat and put on a kaiser roll. I added cocktail sauce to it. There is something that always makes food taste better at the shore. Del's is a staple stop when I go to Ocean City, NJ. read more

Dels is an annual stop for us. Always clean, good service, fast food, and good choices. We got the California burger, cheesesteak, and kids hot dog. Only complaint was French fry quantity seemed a little stingy, but they are always great tasting. And it would be helpful to have some other fruit/veggie options for kids menu (they only have canned mandarin oranges and baby carrots). read more

I had higher hopes for this joint. The environment was nice, cool, and clean. The staff was very friendly. The food was ok. Thats just it--it was ok. Del's grill is one of the best spots to hit for lunch while in Ocean city Nj. The Buffalo grilled chicken sandwich is incredible. Also great job from our server Leah. Overall the food and service was incredible. I will be back a lot this summer. Thank you. read more

I am very unhappy with Del's. We've been there many times over the summer and the food and service was very good. But this last time, the service was bad, never got our food. They took our order and then promptly forgot us. Kept saying that our order was coming. Literally just 3 burgers and fries. After about 40 minutes and watching at least 3 tables of people get there food before us.....mind you they had come in after us and one table had 6 people at it.....we paid for our drinks and told them to cancel our order. I am very upset and because of this will never ho there again. It was almost like we were purposely targeted. read more

I don't know why this place has four stars but I came here with a group late at night and it looked like it was close to closing time. We ordered coconut shrimp regular shrimp fried lobster tail and clam strips. Everything was drenched in oil and tasted horrible we tried to eat because we were starving. The waitress asked if everything was good and my I said the clam strips were horrible and she was nice enough to take it off. The only reason I am giving this place two stars is because of the staff they were super nice and patient with us. I hate giving a bad review maybe the cooks were tired after a long day working in the heat I really don't know but I didn't enjoy the food. read more

Everything about Del's is average. Decor, price, food..everything. They don't take cards so make sure you have cash or be prepared to spend almost $4 for the ATM surcharge. I got the crab balls for an app. They were good with not much filler. Mozzarella sticks were typical freezer to fryer. My BBQ ranch burger was good but the bacon had a strange taste. Our waitress was friendly. It did the job of filling us up but I wouldn't go out of my way to come back. read more

This is definitely a hidden gem on the boardwalk - it looks like it's just takeout, but there is table service, which was a nice surprise. Del's Grill - American Near Me - Ocean City, New Jersey

Why was I in New Jersey? Oh yeah we were here to visit our friend at UPenn and take him to the beach. Why were we in Ocean City, NJ? Oh yeah we thought it would be better to go to a family-friendly beach as opposed to seeing the Situation and the rest of the Jersey Shore cast in Seaside. Did you hear about how Snooki and Governor Christie don't get along because he thinks she is "bad" for New Jersey? Okay well the only reason any of my friends and our tourism dollars came to the armpit of America was because of the Jersey Shore television show. Otherwise we would play Monopoly and drink Skyy even though Grey Goose tastes better. We went to the conveniently-located Del's Grill to get burgers, fries, and onion rings with ketchup. The food wasn't that bad. I honestly vomited later that night, but I think it was because of the fudge place next door. read more

Go here once or twice a year. Our favorite boardwalk spot. The crabcake sandwich is awesome. The burgers are pretty good too. I love their coleslaw! Kids menu has the typical stuff, grilled cheese, chicken fingers, hot dogs, etc. Prices are even higher than normal and drink refills are not free. Servers are very attentive. They only take cash so bring plenty. It's easy to spend $15+ per person for lunch. read more

Add extra half star for better than average and friendly service. It was a small hole in the wall on the boardwalk you could easily walk past. It is a narrow space but it got a bit larger past the end of the counter. Looked like they replaced the floor tiles and kick panels probably from storm damage. Service was prompt, friendly and attentive. Once the order was taken and if you need something it may involve getting a flagman or flailing your arms like someone in need of ocean rescue to get their attention from the staff speaking with one another. My GF had a juice where she found the junk at the bottom she thought may have been mold or something dark that looked like it floating near the bottom. She had to ask to replace it. The food was seafood along with some Philly steak type sandwiches. The taste was average. Nothing to knock your socks off nor send you to the nearest infirmary. Open front. Restroom in the rear. We had no wait. The food took a little longer than average to arrive. The ambiance was basic shore establishment eatery you'd find along the boardwalk. If you want restaurant service we discovered after we ate already there were perhaps two sit down better than standard boardwalk type enclosed restaurants down towards the higher number streets on the boardwalk. Bon Appetite! read more

Met my expectations for filling up my stomach during a day at the beach. As most of the other reviews say, this is a no-frills sit-down, not amazing, not terrible. I ordered a crabcake sprinkled with blue cheese which added a kick, but as for my friend who ordered a cheese steak, it was a bit bland. Waiting for your order does take a while, so if you're in a hurry I would suggest finding another place along the boardwalk. Our waitress was very smiley and accommodating to our abnormal needs for hot water rather than cold water (haha), so that was nice of her. This is a Cash-only place, so bring some big bills if you're coming with a big party. read more

Del's Grill - Mushroom Cheese Steak - American Near Me - Ocean City, New Jersey

Not impressed at all by today's visit. Inside wise miserably hot. They stuffed us into a table that was too small for our party. My steamed shrimp were mushy. The biggest turn off was the fact that they don't accept credit or debit cards. I didn't notice this when walking in and we wound up having to pay a $4 fee to use their atm. This was a total scam. Considering there are many other options I won't be back. read more

Pretty solid, diner style spot that specializes in hoagies and Cheesesteaks. Service was slow on an off season day, but other than that, food was good. Chicken parm sandwich was fantastic, chicken was juicy and well done. Sauce and roll were South Philly style. Chicken florentine sandwich was small but tasty. Peppers and cheese were top quality. The boardwalk style fries were fantastic. read more

Enjoyed an excellent dinner at Dells. Scallops were absolutely delicious. Cheeseburger and steak sandwiches were fantastic. Service was friendly and fast. A must do when you're on the Ocean City boardwalk. read more

Sadly, this was not a great stop for us although our waitress was very nice. It was confusing though because she disappeared to eat her own lunch at the same time, so we kinda didn't get checked on after our food came. It was "kid friendly", but the grilled cheese for "kids" was $6.99. That is just a sin. I had a "Key West Salad" for 13.99 and let me tell you, it was crap. It had 3 carrot nubs, 2 cucumber rounds and 5 puny little shrimp. The dressing was tasty, but I had about 1 tsp of it. Good thing I was on a diet anyways. My husband had a crab cake, but the cole slaw that came with it was warm (which is not a good sign). He said the crab was nothing special. I dunno, I just expected a little more for the price when there are SO MANY OTHER options on the boardwalk with the same kinds of foods. Why would anyone choose this place over the others? Finally, I heard a man order something and mention "hold on the onions". Some older guy walked away after hearing this and said "it doesn't even come with it" looking annoyed and angry and muttering something under his breath. Maybe I misunderstood or heard wrong, but the people at this place didn't seem real happy or friendly. Maybe that dude was allergic to onions. Who knows. But, why care so much dude? I read another review on here that said: "Rude and extremely limited menu. I don't get why it's so crowded. There is much better food on the boardwalk." I think that about sums it up - plus when the owner has a sign that says, "You get it my way or you don't get a damn thing" clearly has another agenda. Finally, when a place "only accepts cash" (Having worked in 11 restaurants myself over the years) is pretty fishy. No pun intended. Just saying. It's sort of like the nail salons that don't allow you to tip on the credit card receipt. read more

The crab cakes are really good with very little filler. I would definitely return for these delicious crab cakes! Service was fast & friendly. Not sure if I missed the sign that says "cash only" or there wasn't one, but luckily I had cash on me to cover the meal. I didn't realize it until I got the bill & it was circled at the bottom. Also, every table has a sign that says how many people the table sits. Unfortunately, the signs are covered with the napkin holders. Our party of 3 sat in a table for six. Luckily, it wasn't busy or I suppose we might have been asked to move. read more

Crabcake and grilled shrimp were OK. It had a reasonable amount of crab. I have had better but also worse. The salad was nothing great; on the small side. The grilled shrimp were good. They only took cash which was annoying. The price was around $15. No bargain. I took it to go so can't speak on the service. They closed promptly at 10PM. They also have french fries and other dishes. read more

Del's is a no-frills grill on the Ocean City boardwalk providing indoor sit-down seating with air conditioning, serving an assortment of sandwiches, burgers, salads and seafood platters. It's about as basic as you can get. For instance, the last time I went I ordered the honey mustard chicken sandwich which consisted of an unseasoned grilled chicken breast on a bun with a little packet on honey mustard on the side. I mean, if they aren't going to spread the mustard on before they serve it they could at least give me a plastic knife, ya know? I will say the side of sweet potato fries were really good - some of the best I've ever had. I'm still a little confused as to how going to Del's every summer became a tradition for our family over 20 years ago. I don't particularly look forward to the food and I probably wouldn't recommend it to my friends, yet for some reason I keep coming back here. read more
