My husband and I love staying at the Port O Call and we stay there frequently. We enjoy dining Adelene's restaurant and also we enjoy their supper club, The Epicurean Club. When my husband Scott's 60th birthday was approaching, we planned a gathering of relatives for his birthday party at the Epicurean. We began planning the party in March of 2024 and Khalid, the event coordinator, was incredibly helpful during the entire planning process. His efforts did not disappoint. The party took place in July 13th, 2024. The service by Molly and Sophie was impeccable, and the party came off without a hitch. In fact, we all had an extraordinary time with wonderful food and great service. All of our guests had nothing but great things to say about the food and service. Thank you to all the staff at the Port O Call who helped us have such an incredible birthday experience. Came for a day trip to Ocean City during the off-season but close to the start, but most of the boardwalk hadn't really opened yet. It was hard to find a sit-down restaurant, and we didn't necessarily come all this way just to have the typical fried boardwalk food. Thankfully we discovered this place inside this hotel. The lunch menu was simple but it had several standout options. I opted for the Chicken and Mac & Cheese Waffle, and the Crab Fries. I always wanted to try a Mac & Cheese Waffle. I'm not sure the texture is what I expected but it was pretty good nonetheless. They gave me 4 chicken strips which is more than the usual 2 another restaurant would serve. And the "individual" Crab Fries was huge. It could've been it's own meal (and there's one size option above). All in all, it was a decent spot for lunch. Quantity is the name of the game here. I'd be curious to see what dinner looks like though. read more

Stopped in for lunch. The setting was nice as it overlooks the boardwalk and beach. Food was average and pretty pricey - $17 for a quesadilla. Asked for salsa and guac with it and got guac and sour cream instead. The waitress barely came out to check on us since we sat outside, which was fine but we both wanted another drink. They also gave us our food in to-go containers with plastic silverware, which was a bit odd. They also charged us for water bottles rather than just giving us a cup of water when we asked for water. Finally, they do not tell you, but they add a section on the bill that says "Adelene Tips". We didn't notice it and tipped, and are quite unhappy that the waitress didn't mention it to us. She ended up getting like 40% in tips because she didn't tell us, and really the service was not worthy of any tip above 20%, which is my standard. Any time I've been to a restaurant with tip included, the waiter either tells us or circles/highlights that area. Very disappointed and feeling a bit ripped off. read more

We have been here dozens of times.This was the worst. Food quality was spotty. Omelette was good, coffee was very good, grilled tomatoes were good. Eggs Benedict was a dangerous disaster. Nice clean and modern(recently remodeled) restaurant located inside the Port-o Call Hotel. Nice big view of the beach and ocean from just about every table in the restaurant. They also have outside tables on the deck overlooking pool and beach. The food and service was good. There was nothing that was spectacular or knock your socks off amazing just consistent good food. We stayed at the Port-O-Call( see my other review) so Adelene was convenient for breakfast so we ate there a couple morning for breakfast. read more

VIEW: Adelene's location overlooking the Atlantic Ocean definitely gets 5 stars. It's an excellent way to enjoy breakfast in the morning with a calming, relaxing and phenomenal view. There's just something about seeing the Ocean first thing in the morning. Seating is available both indoors and outdoors. We were a rather large party for breakfast (6 adults and 5 kids), so we opted for two tables inside to make things easier. We still had a great view. They serve breakfast from 7:30-12:00pm; hours that are earlier and later than most restaurants. FOOD: Everyone basically ordered the SUNRISER, which comes with 2 eggs, home fries (they were actually potato quarters), toast and your choice of breakfast meat. I ordered the SUNRISER JUNIOR, which included all of the above except the breakfast meat. As far as breakfast food goes, it was fine. It's hard to mess up scrambled eggs, for the most part. The home fries were ok as well. It was a good breakfast and prices were reasonable, considering it's a hotel restaurant. My only complaint would be, they would not substitute an english muffin for toast without an upcharge. Most breakfast places do accommodate this request without an additional charge. SERVICE: The service was average. Our waitress was there to do a job and wasn't too personable. She didn't come around to refill the water glasses. If in Ocean City, stop by Adelene's to grab a basic breakfast; the awesome and relaxing morning view makes it worth it. read more

Three friends and I tremendously enjoyed our dinner last night. Sarah, our waitress, was superb - attentive, personable, and our orders were perfectly served. We were seated at a window overlooking the pool, boardwalk and ocean. Room temperature and lighting were just right. We have eaten lunch at Adelene's many times before but if one gets the chance please try an evening meal. Since this is a supper club the table is yours for the night so there is no rush! The cheese plate had 3 different cheeses with many additional sides - it was huge! We could not finish it all. The soups and salad as appetizers were delicious. Our main courses were also delicious. The steaks and lobster tails were cooked to perfection and nicely presented. One of my friends had the Chicken al Fredo and said it was the best she has ever had. The chef came to our table and told us many of the foods served are made in house from scratch. Desserts topped off the meal - real pistachio ice cream, the best salted caramel ice cream, to die for tiramisu and a specialty dessert with homemade biscuits, strawberry "purée" and topped with Chantilly crème. This place is excellent. Ocean city was really lacking a nice place to have dinner. This is that place. The food is fresh and prepared wonderfully. Everything is seasoned to perfection, and everyone at my table enjoyed their meal. It's a great break from fried board walk food. I posted pictures of out meals. We were so happy to find a place that offers fresh food for grown ups. I did see the staff seat a toddler with a high chair, so well behaved children are welcome it seems. Our first visit, they were not very busy, but active. We waited awhile and an older employee grumbled "just wait a minute" a couple of times, then disappeared. An even older woman came out of the back, glared at us, wrote something down and vanished. We left. Tried again, two days later and they apologized for the previous staff and after we had eaten, comped our meal, Good food at prices that shoud get you great food. We stopped into Adelene's for lunch one afternoon, and found it to be very clean. The silverware, glasses, and dishes were spotless (that's very important to me). The service was outstanding and our server was very pleasant. I ordered the crabcake sandwich, which was good, but I've had better. The roll my crabcake was on was grilled and toasty - really good. My dining partner ordered the fried flounder sandwich with fries, and he enjoyed it very much. My lunch came with homemade potato chips that were very good. The only downside was the wait for a table (albeit a holiday weekend but tons of empty tables with no-one at them) and the extremely long wait for food. Kids almost chewed their fingers off. This is the third New Years we have had the "special" buffet here. In the past there was an obvious chef circulating. Everything was fresh an appetizing. Tonight there was no cooking presence and the food was appalling. The "prime rib" ,which in the past was carved at a carving station at which all degrees of doneness were present, this year was a grey, overcooked mass sitting in a pool of liquid in which it had been "stewed" rather than roasted. The chicken was in scraps, the seafood crepes swimming in a mean looking, tasteless sauce. Last year the desserts were advertised as coming from a local bakery. Tonight's cheesecake lacked any hint of cheese or texture, much like a jello cheesecake. I could go on, but you get the point. The only constant was the cost. A TOTAL RIPOFF! read more

Went to Adelene's on a Saturday morning and had the worse service ever inasmuch as there were only patrons at five other tables. Took us 20 minutes to get water and another 10 minutes before a waitress took our order. I actually thought the waitress was the one cooking the food and only received a "Sorry for the wait". Finally, a great place for dinner in OC! The dining area was beautifully decorated and we sat by the window for a beautiful view of the boardwalk and beach. Our waitress was friendly enough but may have been new as the service was somewhat slow and unprofessional. We ordered the nachos as an appetizer and waited a little longer than expected. The table next to us was seated after us and got their bread and salads before we hit the nachos or bread. It would have been nice to at least have bread while we waited. The nachos were good , of course not what you would get in a Mexican restaurant but still ok. The tortilla chips were topped with beef chili and cheese with sour cream and salsa in the side. Salads came with the meals and were made with mixed greens, tomatoes and carrots. The balsamic vinaigrette was very good. We did finally get the bread which was ok. We asked for it to be heated which the waitress happily did. My daughter and I both ordered the filet mignon which was served with Gorgonzola, red wine sauce and topped with frizzled onions. It was perfectly cooked, tender and delicious!! The sides were mashed red skin potatoes and a vegetable medley of fresh mushrooms, jersey tomatoes and squash. Both were excellent. My husband ordered the porterhouse steak. He said that it was just ok. There was not a lot of meat and it was cut thin. For dessert, we shared the cheesecake topped with Hammonton blueberries. It was creamy and delicious. The waitress forgot to clear the dinner plates before bringing dessert so it was a little awkward but she was very nice and apologetic.
