We decided to Uber here from our hotel instead of paying way too much for a mediocre steak dinner at one of the hotel steak places. We had an awesome meal here for way less than the places at the hotel. This place was crowded with locals on a weeknight, always a good sign for a restaurant. I've never really had a bad meal at any TXR and this place kept up that tradition. The rolls were fresh and hot as always. The fried pickles seem to be hand breaded and were fresh and hot without being too greasy. The side salad (no egg) was perfect as were the 6oz sirloin with mushrooms/onions and the loaded baked potato. I was hungry since I hadn't eaten much that day and still wasn't able to finish my meal. Service was awesome as you'd expect at TXR and I was able to pay my bill at the table so no waiting to pay. This place is worth the drive or Uber ride from AC and I'll come back here again if I'm back in AC.

Even though they were very busy, we were seated quickly, and we had an awesome server named Anthony. Our food was really good. The restaurant was very loud, but I think it was because it was so busy and there was also music playing.

Had to wait 20-30 minutes on thursday night (it was 1st of jan). Got seated and greeted almost immediately. Rolls are great per usual. Food came out quick. Ordered medium came out medium, maybe a little to the welldone side. Our server's lovely! Kept asking if we needed anything and if the food was okay or not. It's quite a busy night, most tables are filled. Ordered sirloin and new york strip, combo and the steak. Shrimp are amazing but salty, be careful if you have high blood pressure! Combo was 21.99 (w sirloin) and 24.99 for new york strip, both meal comes with 2 sides. RICE ISSS GOOOODD lovee itt

My friend and I went in the early afternoon for lunch/dinner. Our waitress was well-informed of the menu and was very friendly. Chicken was juicy and tender. The ribs were slightly dry but were also good, the steak we asked for medium but it was more of a medium-well but we were satisfied. The shrimp were to die for, wow! Went right in, our booth was nice a spacious. Loved the atmosphere in the bar area. Left full as ticks, we love Texas!

Food is decent. The sirloin and mashed potatoes are good, but Outbacks still better. Love the bread and cinnamon butter.

An empty parking lot and only two diners in a large dining area is never a good sign but the server was "friendly" (Fitting for a location that once housed a Friendly's ice cream restaurant.). There were no signs of the former occupant and the dining area is very appealing with a sense of being upscale, which conflicted with my hopes of a reasonably priced lunch menu. In fact there is no lunch menu and the prices sort of jump at your eyes because they are so much more appropriate for an evening out. Perhaps the empty dining room fills up with patrons later in the day. So, I went with Pho. Flank steak, vermicelli rice noodles, and please all the veggies (Why ask?). My very sufficient bowl arrived quickly with the side plate of Thai basil, lime, and bean sprouts. I went looking for the bottles of hoisin and sriccha but my server pointed to the small white bowl with red and brown colors ... ahh no bottles, which at first I was disappointed in not having them accessible to me but this is upscale dining and those table bottled always have a sense of community to them. I asked for more sriccha and it was delivered. The beef pho base was good the flank steak arrived cooked rather than rare and my lunch satisfied me except I was hoping for something more or different and closer to street food because it was lunch time Heck the server on a sunny day was friendly and you can't go wrong with that

There were several Mexican restaurants to choose from and many had great Yelp reviews. After careful consideration .... Tacos El Tio was our pick and so glad it was! What a gem. And they have a full liquor license with tons of great drinks, especially if you're looking for a margarita! I opted for a nice Mandarin Jarritos soda -- i was just in the mood. They also have screens with sporting events on + an area with a full bar to hang. They have booths and areas for large tables too - so it's great for the whole family or a nice date night. My husband loved his steak fajitas and could not stop raving about them. He loved them! I ordered the chicken fajita enchilada..and it was ginormous - - you could make two meals out of it! Sorry I dont have more photos - - we were hungry! :) And I cannot forget our awesome server, Jose! He was a super nice server and loved that he was from Ecuador - - where we recently traveled! We will definitely be back. I just made your Mexican restaurant selection for Egg Harbor Township easy!

A fun time at Egg Harbor's second-best Mexican restaurant…read more If you look at Yelp, you'll see there's another Mexican restaurant that has a slightly better rating than Tacos El Tio. HOWEVER, that other place is BYOB, and if you want to have an alcoholic beverage, for example, a margarita, you'll need to bring your own tequila. Tacos El Tio is a full-service Mexican restaurant that offers well-crafted beverages alongside delicious food. Now, to the specifics... TET has lots of parking. The inside is large, clean, and offers plenty of comfortable seating. You might prefer a table or booth that's on the far side of the dining room, well away from the bar area with its speakers and any loud conversations. Our server, Julie, was attentive, efficient, and delightful. They offer a range of margaritas, from specialty concoctions to their margaritas-on-tap. The on-tap version is about half the cost of the concocted version and, in my opinion, a far better value. As for food, all we tried, all we had to try, was their Los Nachos El Tio. That was a plate, heaped high with corn tortillas, layered with nacho stuff, along with generous portions of beef, chicken, and chorizo. And, unlike the nachos offered by some places, the good stuff wasn't merely a topping; it was interspersed with chips from top to bottom. And it was enough that even though we started off hungry, and even though it was delicious, my wife and I couldn't finish it. The only thing we'll do at our next visit is leave out the chorizo; it was our least favorite of the three proteins. TLDR: Sit somewhere far from the bar, get the least expensive margaritas, order the nachos (maybe without the chorizo), and leave your tequila at home.

It's BYOB with plenty of parking and reservations are a must since they're always busy! You can easily book on resy.com. I've been twice now, and have enjoyed each visit. All their pastas are homemade and their dishes are very flavorful. My husband thought their chicken Parmesan was a little too salty for him with the vodka sauce, but he's sensitive to cream and has more bland of a palate than I do. I thought it was delicious. We had started off with the stuffed gnocchi appetizer. This was hands down the best gnocchi I've ever had! It was like little pillows filled with ricotta in the most scrumptious cream sauce with roasted tomatoes. We wanted to lick the plate, but used the bread to wipe it up instead haha. For my main dish, I had the shrimp scampi with the creamy rice and it was incredible! The shrimp were absolutely perfectly succulent and not overdone and rubbery. The lemon butter sauce was divine. I may opt for the linguine instead next time since I was overloaded with cream after the gnocchi, but it was delicious the next day as leftovers. Service was attentive and well timed. The restaurant is lively and not the biggest, so don't go here expecting a quiet meal. I need to try their dessert next time!
