Sunday Gravy is a casual Italian restaurant located in the central square shopping center in Linwood. It's BYOB with plenty of parking and reservations are a must since they're always busy! You can easily book on resy.com. I've been twice now, and have enjoyed each visit. All their pastas are homemade and their dishes are very flavorful. My husband thought their chicken Parmesan was a little too salty for him with the vodka sauce, but he's sensitive to cream and has more bland of a palate than I do. I thought it was delicious. We had started off with the stuffed gnocchi appetizer. This was hands down the best gnocchi I've ever had! It was like little pillows filled with ricotta in the most scrumptious cream sauce with roasted tomatoes. We wanted to lick the plate, but used the bread to wipe it up instead haha. For my main dish, I had the shrimp scampi with the creamy rice and it was incredible! The shrimp were absolutely perfectly succulent and not overdone and rubbery. The lemon butter sauce was divine. I may opt for the linguine instead next time since I was overloaded with cream after the gnocchi, but it was delicious the next day as leftovers. Service was attentive and well timed. The restaurant is lively and not the biggest, so don't go here expecting a quiet meal. I need to try their dessert next time! read more

Been trying to eat here for a while, but it's hard to get a res because it's so busy and now I see why. I had shrimp scampi and we started with the best gnocchi ever and a great tomato and burrata salad. Service was excellent and food was delicious. Just because a place doesn't serve alcohol they should understand that some people don't want to order right of way. Nothing that can't be corrected by management. This trip I had the spaghetti and meatballs with the broccoli rabe and sausage appetizer. Unfortunately the broccoli rabe and sausage risotto balls aren't on the menu anymore. Heard good things about Sunday gravy. Italian byob with homemade pasta on par with zeppoli. Server was attentive and helpful as we were asked if it was our first visit. I tried three pastas. Wow! Probably the best meal we've had in a really long time, and all year with that. You need a reservation to go here and besides the bar I don't think they take walk ins. We managed to get a reservation on a Sunday evening. We were seated promptly. From start to finish everything was great. We ordered the calamari as an appetizer and it was the best we've ever had. By far the best, most authentic fine Italian BYOB eatery at the South Jersey Shore. Whether you are after seafood, steak, pasta, it will be prepared and presented beautifully by excellent, friendly and knowledgeable wait staff that work together as a well oiled machine to deliver every one of their diners a most memorable experience. I had the Sea Bass with crabmeat and capers, it was HUGE and delicious, accompanied by a side of pasta with garlic and oil- astonishing! This place will always hold a special place in my heart bc my husband and I had our unofficial wedding reception dinner here! They were so lovely and I am so behind in posting how indebted to them we are, but I wanted to make sure the review detailed how amazing this place is. My husband and I planned our wedding very very last minute. At first, we were hell bent on just going to city hall and going to dinner here with our two witnesses and parents. Of course, nothing ever goes as planned and our party of six turned to twelve, to 15... and then eventually 20 (I know, I'm the worst). They never made me feel like we were being annoying after the million phone calls and drop ins explaining how we had to add another person to our reservation. Prior to our wedding, we dropped off a couple of items to personalize our night a little bit. When we arrived at 730, everyone was simply blown away. They cleared out their reservations so they could simply focus on us and it truly felt so special. The decorations, attention to detail, kindness, service, and food were absolutely top notch. They set up a little table with all our wine, pictures, and guestbook and even had a table for our cake. We couldn't have asked for more. No call. No text. No email. We got there in pouring rain and when we went inside, we were told that our reservation "was cancelled" (by THEM) because we had twice cancelled before. Our first visit to Sunday Gravy has already made it a new favorite in the area -- probably close to the legendary Chef Vola as upscale Italian spots go! Every aspect of our meal was executed perfectly, from the warm, friendly service and surprisingly fast turnaround of dishes to the clearly a la minute preparation of said dishes and how totally delicious they were. For appetizers, the crab bisque is a total standout -- unlike so many cream seafood soups it is chock full of HUGE lump crab pieces and so flavorful, and a very big bowl for just $8. For entrees we shared the Chilean sea bass and the spicy shrimp and crab with linguine. The sea bass, served in a delicate garlicky broth with cherry tomatoes and crab (this place does not skimp on the crab, much to our delight) is one of the best cooked pieces of fish I've had in my life, just....summer on a plate. The spicy shrimp/crab pasta does live up to its name -- it is definitely quite spicy -- with super fresh, perfectly cooked shrimp and linguine. Everything here is really beyond reproach and the prices are among the most reasonable for a spot of this caliber we've found in the area--we can't wait to come back soon! read more

Sunday Gravy was the perfect setting for my mom's birthday dinner but it would be the perfect setting for any occasion or no occasion at all! I would label the food as upscale Italian and the interior as casually cozy. Make yourself a reservation (trust me) and bring along your favorite bottle of wine-they are BYO. Despite how busy the restaurant was she was quite prompt with taking our order and getting our salad to the table-which by the way, was the best Caesar salad I've ever had! Don't skip out on a Caesar here. It can easily serve two people and comes perfectly dressed. My favorite part was the tasty parmesan crisps dispersed throughout. As great as all of the food was, the salad was actually my favorite bite of food. Also impressive was the main entree that I indulged in. Multiple options appealed to me but I ultimately landed on the crab pomodoro and I wasn't disappointed. There was ample crab meat in the dish which gave it a hearty feel. The crab was in good company with al dente pasta and fresh sauce. I'd happily order this again. My mom raved about the lobster ravioli as well. Both dishes hit the mark! Get the Caesar Salad, very tasty dressing and big enough for 3 to split. Calamari and Shrimp app is tasty too , ask for that sweet n sour sauce on the side to dip. Rolls are warm and crispy . My parents got steaks which they thought were a bit overdone so ask for it rarer than you want it . I got Crab Pomodoro pasta which was ok but I would try fish next time. Tiramisu is fine. Chocolate cake is dense and fudgy. Creme Brulee Cheesecake I would skip. Nothing special but the Tiramisu is good. Get that . Definitely make reservations and bring some wine . I can't say enough about Sunday Gravy the food just Amazing , everyone kept complimenting how wonderful it was. We've been for dinner and decided to have her shower there ! And I have not one regret ,perfect day . About 85-96 capacity. Upon entry, I Instantly noticed a rather annoying loud background noise due to patrons having conversations at their table. The interior is primarily painted black. A few famed items on the walls. It appears the acoustic tiles on the ceilings were painted black also, whereby any acoustic sound absorption in the dining room is eliminated and making it noisy. Depending where you are seated, you might have difficulty having a normal conversation are your table. Menu Selections: Italian with Seafood. Wide selection. Look them up online. Prices: A BYOB restaurant (It appears Linwood, NJ does not issue liquor licenses). Bring a bold Italian wine. For two diners, $60+ with tip. Food ordered and served: Attractively served, excellent and pleasantly delicious. One of the very best restaurant in the Atlantic County area. Service: Excellent and very effective. Best bets: Patio dining might be better due inside noise levels, but it is weather dependent. Issues: As mentioned above. (BTW: They do make black acoustic tiles that absorb noise.) This week was our 1st time dining at Sunday Gravy. The Crab Bisque was delicious! We shared a Roasted Beet & Goat Cheese Salad that didn't wow us but was certainly large enough to share. We also shared the Crispy Calamari & Shrimp appetizer that was actually disappointing. My husband had the Pork Ragu that he raved about and I had the Halibut that was very good. Our server was Ava who did a nice job throughout the evening. All servers were female with their hair tied back and out of the way. I was surprised to see the gentleman who delivered all entrees to the tables had long hair that was hanging in his face. I believe that health codes and food safety standards mandate that food handlers, including servers, wear hair restraints. When we arrived home, we discovered we were one entree short. When I called, I was told I could pick it up at any time. We heard about this restaurant so we made reservations ( you really do need reservations) Bella was our server and she is excellent. We started with the meat ball appetizer and the rice balls both were delicious. Then we had the Italian chop salad. Bella told us one salad was enough for two people and she was spot on with that advice. My husband had a crab and pasta dish, Bella said it is one of the favorites and she was right.
