Ventura's is one of those staple restaurants growing up at the shore and serves quantity meals that don't sacrifice quality! Felt like we had to have one of their "award winning" caesar salads since they boast it on the menu. It was definitely sizable so order to share. We enjoyed it. Not sure it would go in the books but it was really nice. Could have used some more croutons but loved the fresh shaved parm. The French onion soup is comforting and the pappardelle bolognese was such a treat! And because dessert goes to a separate stomach, we found room for a slice of the key lime pie which was absolutely worth every calorie! Ventura's offshore location is definitely larger and comfier than the beach location. The tables are roomier and the parking is easy. Though it can get a bit noisy but we asked to be seated away from the bar area which kept the noise level comfortable enough for conversation. The service is friendly and the portions are awesome! read more

Been coming here for years. Food is usually solid but here's my review from last night. 5 of us dined around 7:15. 15 min wait as posted on their website. Onion soup is always great. Chicken Caesar salad: much smaller portion overall. Chicken seemed to be same size but there used to be a ton more romaine. It's only water, put it back in the larger bowl already. Margarita flatbread was missing the basil leaves we had just a week ago. Draft Coors light STILL overpriced. We only go here in emergency situations as there are many other better local restaurants to choose from. read more

HORRIBLE! September 2026 Let me start this review by saying I have been a customer for over 25 years at the Venturas offshore Café. This by far had to be the worst experience I have ever had in my entire life! On Monday, September 14, I called to place a takeout order and actually placed it with the owner Lou. Two chicken Parmesan dinners with a large order of pizza, bread and a side order of sauce.$68. I live in Ventnor, New Jersey and paid the toll both ways over the Margate Bridge. Picked up the food, returned home, and when we opened up the package, the chicken was so burnt and dry that I could barely cut it with a steak knife. The bread was stale and the sauce was maybe 2 tablespoons in a small plastic container. I immediately called the restaurant when a young girl answered and put me on hold only to come back and tell me they were very busy and someone would return the call. No one ever did! I followed up the next morning at 11 AM and spoke with a manager named SUE. She said she was a "fill in manager' and would have Val the night Manager call me at 5 o'clock. Val called and apologized for the bad food and said she would refund my money the next morning since the girl who did the processing of the batches for the day.. she said she would follow up with me the next day. The next day was today, September 16. She called to advise me that she was sending me a gift card for $40 and not a refund! I said I don't understand what you are saying. As of yesterday, you were refunding my money and you're not even offering me a gift card for the amount that I spent. She refused to go any further and said that's all she is authorized to take it or leave it. Lou, who is the owner is nowhere to be found in this situation. She said if you wanna call back tomorrow, you can talk to him directly. I said I am not calling back a third day to speak to him. You let him know that I am disputing this on my credit card. I'm leaving this negative review. I am shocked at the way I was handled and passed around by this long time establishment that I have been loyal to for many decades. Not to mention all the years I've been going to the greenhouse in Margate. I will never step Foot in this establishment ever again and neither will my family or any of my friends that frequent this location. It's no secret. They have been going downhill for a while.. we were just there last month and they charged me $27 for a cheeseburger and charged extra for lettuce and tomato!! What kind of a manager has authority to give $40 to somebody who just spent $70 on an inedible dinner? Total disgrace. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your money. They no longer are the place they used to be. It's now greed mediocre food for top dollar. There are too many choices out there to be treated like this. NERVER AGAIN!! do better in the future Lou." read more

We've had several amazing drinks during their happy hour on several occasions. They even had a house infused pineapple vodka one summer and it was really delicious. We always order their fried mozzarella and a fresh plain pie! We also k ike their Alfredo pasta dishes. They have solid Italian dishes. There can sometimes be a wait during the summer. They have a decent amount of tables to fit customers. read more

This is one of my favorite restaurants in the area for a nice night out! The food and service are great!

Prices. No refills on sodas, do you want to substitute spinach add eight dollars! lol sharing food? more money. You only get one choice of soup the soup of the day. Prices have gone up and it's ridiculous. We have been eating here for many years the quality of the food over the last year or two has gone downhill. Not worth the money. $11 for my French onion soup and the cheese was all stuck melted on the sides and what was left burnt on the top. The bread was like regular white bread in the soup, and they forgot to bring it to me so it was for Free. Thank God because it wasn't worth $3. Sandwiches the bottoms were wet. Had to eat them with a fork. Our favorite for years is the pork sandwiches. The pork tasted terrible today. The sweet potato fries were blah and you get very little like a small McDonald french fries serving lol just save your money and go somewhere else local after years visiting this establishment we are no longer returning. read more

Stopped in a few nights ago and enjoyed a fresh hot meal. And may I add, nice cold beer & air conditioning

We have never been to Ventura's and my fiancé's family has been vacationing in Ocean City for years and years. After our experience here, Ventura's has been added to our list of repeat restaurants. We arrived at 7pm with a party of 8 after calling ahead and putting our name on the list. After a short wait in a rather busy restaurant, we were shown to our table which was right in front of a beautiful (and huge!) brick fireplace. Our server, Lindsey, was fantastic all night. She came around frequently but not to the point where it was overbearing. She was professional, super kind, apologetic (even though she had no reason to be), and was great with the kids. It's not always easy finding a restaurant to accommodate parties of 8 with young children but Ventura's being a family-focused restaurant did a superb job. They also have a nice big sports bar with plenty of TVs that I can one day see myself sitting at. We came on Sunday which happens to be ALL DAY Happy Hour!! They have a select list of $7 margs and great deals on domestic drafts. I had a Guava Habanero Margarita and I would put it up there with the best margaritas I've ever had. It had a perfect amount of heat and which perfectly offset the sweetness. Lindsey told us they muddle fresh fruit for the drinks. My fiancé ordered their Espresso cocktail which was similar to an Espresso Martini but served in a rocks glass and poured over a large square cube. Both drinks were great and would order again. They also have some really good food deals on the happy hour menu including $6 pizza, a mountain of mussels, and a bunch of finger foods and appetizers. Of course being our first time here we had to order multiple different items to try as much as possible. We started with pizza and pizza bread -- which was delicious -- and let me tell you for $6 the pizza was fantastic and it was kid approved! The mussels (we chose red) were piled up and served in a delicious gravy, perfect for bread dipping. They were also cooked perfectly -- tender and definitely fresh. The Garlic Parmesan Fries were full of flavor and I loved the thick cut style fries -- crispy on the outside and soft & fluffy on the inside. The wings were a little bigger than I prefer (I know I'm a little odd -- I like smaller wings) but good nonetheless. Everyone also ordered entrees which it seemed like everyone enjoyed. I chose the Short Rib Grilled Cheese after it being recommended by Lindsey and all I can say is WOW! They loaded this sandwich with tender short rib and the combination of provolone and goat cheese melted throughout the sandwich made for a creamy and delicious bite. I would absolutely order this again and again but I have to be honest, every tray of food brought out that came by our table looked incredible. I'd definitely need to try something else at my next visit. Like I said, we had a great family experience here at Ventura's. It's a great place for families. They're well trained and equipped to handle large parties with children -- and even have coloring pages for the kids. The service we received all around from everyone involved was fantastic. The hostess, Lindsey our server, the food runners and bussers, everyone was respectful, professional, and added to the family friendly atmosphere. The food here is also top notch for a family branded restaurant and sports bar. Prices are reasonable, portions are large, and you're getting quality food and huge portions. Thank you to Ventura's Offshore Cafe for being great hosts and we'll see you agai read more

When you order a nice dinner and have to buy your dinner salad because dinners don't come with one....the order in which food SHOULD come out is Appetizer, soup, salad and THEN Entree NOT at the exact same time. Very disappointing read more

The food is very good. The service has always been good for us, no issues. The main dinning room can get pretty loud if you're sitting at tables, booths are a little more quiet. They have a large bar to accommodate those waiting to be seated. On your way out you can stop in their large selection of packaged goods. read more

Great mussels! Good selection of food, chicken parm is very good. They make great drinks and tons of tv's in the bar to take in the game.

My table ordered chicken and it smelled and tasted like it had been sitting out all day and had gotten all icky. There was aton of flies around the table. The service was OK and the bathrooms are clean. read more

Absolutely the worst customer service ever! We've given them a couple shots, but the hostess staff obviously doesn't care at all! We were told to step aside and we would be seated in a minute. Twenty minutes later and at least 4 two tops seated in front of us, they said oops our bad we'll be right with you, another 15 minutes and we left, we won't be back! read more

My husband and I go all year to Ventura Offshore and we had guests today it was terrible! I asked for a white wine I got a red one. I asked for a gluten free chicken Pram with a baked potato which I get all winter. I got a piece of chicken no tomato sauce and no cheese and no potato! Then I asked for a glass of wine when the table asked for their drinks. The whole table got their drinks and it took 30 minutes to get my wine had to ask several people for it. While I love it in the winter I am so disappointed in it! The manager even knew me and she knew I was upset! read more

Venturas was always a frequent stop for me growing up. The Mussels are top notch and the caesar salad is just splendid. The service was great and the ambiance was perfect for a family dinner occasion while watching the Phillies. I do have one negative about Ventura's though. Dont get the buffalo chicken pizza. The chicken is in about 2in cubes and its honestly not enjoyable to eat at all. Other than that its a great place to dine read more

Ventura's Offshore Café offers a menu that suits a range of tastes, blending traditional and distinct dishes. The drink choices are basic, including options like Diet Coke and a carafe of water. The meal began with their French Onion Soup, a staple choice. The soup's rich taste comes from the melted Swiss and aged sharp provolone cheese, paired with French-style croutons. It provided a warm and comforting start to the meal on a chilly, rainy evening. Following that, the Caesar Salad proved to be a good choice. It's made with crisp romaine lettuce, croutons, and in-house Caesar dressing, and can be topped with char-grilled chicken. The salad offers a nice mix of fresh taste and satisfying flavor. The entrees included the standout Chicken Marsala. This dish combines sautéed chicken breast, Marsala wine, cremini, and portabella mushrooms, all served over tri-colored homemade pasta, resulting in a flavorful and filling meal. Another impressive dish was the Double Stuffed Shrimp. This entree creatively pairs crabmeat and lemon pepper pappardelle with a citrus beurre blanc sauce, creating a very flavorful combination. The Mussels Ventura, chosen with a red sauce, was a decent selection, though they do warn of potential sand. It came served with linguini and an additional side of spaghetti and meatballs, appealing to those who like freshly sautéed mussels with garlic and basil. Ventura's Offshore Café provides an enjoyable dining experience with its variety of well-cooked dishes, catering to diverse tastes and preferences. read more

Omg, this place excited my food passion. It was a culinary delight. The place was filled with patrons, at the bar and in the dining rooms. The staff was fabulously fantastic and friendly. Although we were told there would be 15 minute wait-we were seated in less than five minutes. I was at the bar ordering a dirty martini/ Grey Goose that I took to the table. It was freaking delicious and enough for two drinks. Our server, Beyonce was angel. She LISTENED and got the my order and my dinner partner's dinner PERFECT! The ambience was perfect. It was easy to have conversation. I even had a conversation with a gentleman at the bar while he was waiting for his takeout order. I can't wait to get back again. I also noticed there were outside sitting areas. I'd like to go back when the weather is a little warmer and enjoy a meal outside. I truly recommend this restaurant. read more

The pizza bread was a crowd-pleaser that combined the essence of pizza with the convenience of handheld bread. The pizza bread is a must order appetizer. I had the Tuna Lesparance for my main and it was refreshing and tasty. The seared exterior contrasted beautifully with the tender pink center, creating a sensory experience that was both visually appealing and satisfying to the tastebuds. The service was nice and accommodating. It was a very delicious meal and I would recommend. read more

First time trying this place and it did not disappoint. Went on. Saturday around 1pm so it was definitely busy but still got seating right away. Lots of seating and tables, large layout with bar, party rooms and open dining areas. Ordered the short ribbed grilled cheese which was probably the best grilled cheese I've ever eaten. Beautiful contrast of flavors from the cheese, to the short rib, to the acidity of balsamic glaze and arugula. Would definitely be back often for it. Also ordered some a margherita flatbread which I have nothing bad to say about. Very saucy and lots of mozzarella and basil on it. Every bite was great. Had Thai lettuce wraps and calamari to complete the meal and it was all great. Would highly recommend stopping in for all occasions, date night, casual, or even a quick bite. read more

very white people food; this last time i went it was not as flavorful as i remember in years past. service was good though!

I really wanted to like this restaurant from all the good reviews but it was a miss for me. We came on a Saturday night so that 30 min wait was understandable. I ordered a glass of wine and my waitress totally forgot until I reminded her. It took over an hour for our main course to come out. The waitress double charged me for one appetizer and I asked for my sauce on my pasta to be substituted. The waitress never mentioned there would be fee for this let alone an $8 fee which cost more than our entire kids meal. There were gnats all over our table. A manager came over and we explained that the waitress double charged us and failed to mention the fee. The manager apologized and said that the ingredients for Alfredo sauce have gone up. Truly terrible customer service and we will not be back. read more

We stopped here en route from eastern Virginia to long Island. The food is nicely presented and delicious. The wait staff are efficient and friendly and the restaurant is clean (vacant tables were immediately bussed and cleaned). A true value for money - you will end up checking your bill twice since the low prices is such a wonderful surprise. read more

Service was good. Wait to be seated was also good. My veal parmigiana was overcooked; and hard to eat. They charged for refills on the Diet Pepsi without telling us. I felt rushed. They took away the plates before my wife and daughter were finished. I used to like this place. Now I think it's mediocre food at a high price. read more

Been going to this restaurant for decades. It used to be that their staff would stay for years and years. This is no longer true. I don't think the original owner is in charge. It's quite obvious. Menu has changed and the kitchen staff doesn't want to do certain things. The customer is never right at this establishment anymore. Customer service went south. Very disappointed. Waitress decided to count her tips while customers were waiting to order. That should have been done at the end of her shift. I'll be giving this place a rest for a while. And I'm sure they don't really care. read more

Love the employees, the ambiance, the menu. They just disappoint over and over again. Menu not as advertised. Ordered beet salad. One piece yellow beet, two piece red ones. More tomatoes then beets! Over dressed. Served with hot chicken breast over cold salad. Not even diced and tossed in salad. No love in the kitchen here. Go elsewhere. PS just remodeled kitchen, ironically. read more

Food is consistently good but some suggestions are needed! My friend ordered lobster which was good but needed a very small fork to remove the meat from the legs and our waitress said they didn't have any?.. Not smart when you're paying $$ for lobster! New Years day light dinner at the Offshore was great as usual. Had not been there for well over a year and was looking for some relaxation and eats. Ordered Steamed mussels in a red sauce which is listed as an appetizer, but very easily fits in for a meal. Sauce was a lot less garlicky than in the past, nevertheless really rich and tasty with large chunks of the best tomatoes I've had anywhere. Also ordered the pizza bread instead of Italian bread which is a $3 upcharge, but well worth it. Service was great and room beautify decorated for the holidays. read more

I'm wondering if this place changed hands or something. Stopped in for lunch and was met with a "no substitutions" menu. I just wanted a regular old plain cheese burger. My bartender/waitress worked around it but was given pushback from the kitchen. It's crazy. I definitely won't be back. 2 stars because my server was really great, policy wise I would give zero. Plus they used to have really good burgers but today I got 2 super thin burgers with a strange version of American cheese. Definitely not what it used to be. read more

If this place could charge you to breathe, they would. You want a salad with your $27 entree, add $3. You want a refill on your coke $3. Want a soup with your entree, add $3. Want to substitute pasta for spinach, add $8. Want to share your food with your family, $5. Not a joke. read more

This place has a awesome happy hour. Not on the happy hour, but I highly recommend, is their bread plate. The bread plate is HUGE but...treat yo self. A local's hot spot! When I lived near the area, I actually didn't come here often as I usually never ventured much out that way. But lately, every time I'm back home, I frequently stopped here. The restaurant is plenty big with a good amount of seating. There is a bar right in the middle too. Service usually is nice and quick. The food portions are huge! We always bring the leftovers home. And they are always nice to split the entrees into two portions. The menu has a lot to choose from & everything always sounds good. Must haves for me that I order every time are the buffalo wings, mussels & pizza break. The buffalo wings are one of the best I've ever had! read more

Food was a little pricey and wasn't that great. I have order fried calamari a few times and they consistently over-fried. The last two visits, too very long to server to take order and the place wasn't busy, besides the bar. Ordered steamed muscles a few times and they were most empty shells. I think they can benefit from shrinking the menu and focus on quality of service. Having so much to choose from, would impact consistency in the kitchen. The dining area could possibly use better lighting, place looks dingy. Please try to be aware of room temperature. Sometimes is too cold. read more

RIP OFF-, RIP OFF, check your bill at end of meal. Example , turkey burger with, blu cheese, mushrooms, lettuce, tomato & onions $16. tell the waitress no mushrooms just lettuce, tomato & onion. Check comes and there are additional separate charges for the lettuce, tomato & onions????. Another order was the same only requested american cheese, no blu cheese. "no problem" . Check came with a $1 charge for one slice of cheese? VERY curt manager came over talking like a used car dealer. " very sorry for the billing but our register system may not be matching up with the menu prices". Another add on order for blackened schrimp was shown as $7. Bill came showing $8. Same manager stated as a customer you need to read bottom of menu stating prices may change upon their cost. Manager quickly departed stating that the additional charges would remain for the shrimp. Her business acumen when dealing with customers stinks!! Our waitress never told us upon ordering as she thought it was still $7. Thus, the same manager told us she will not remove the extra $1. Customers....read your check completley for prices that do not match up with the menu. Upon departing i spoke with the same manager and she basically stated again about reading the full menu. She never offered an explanation of the other over charges. BOTTON LINE.... Manager, should have taken a picture of me as she will never see me at Ventura's again. Since the manager also says customers should read the bottom of the menu. The manager can now read this review. read more
