Highly recommend coming for Sangria Sunday as drinks are only $7 during all night happy hour! Only caveat is that you have to sit at the bar, which still had a great ocean view! Also a great place to catch any sports games with TVs above the bar. Tried both the red and white sangrias that were steals! From the happy hour menu, we had the open faced empanada that was interesting to say the least. It lacked flavor and the best part was the orange. Off the regular menu, we got the patatas bravas and garlic shrimp. The potatoes needed more sauce as it was a bit dry, but the garlic shrimp was the absolute star of the show. We actually ordered a second one because of how good it was. The shrimp and garlic were fresh, the size was large, and even the bread paired really well with it. First let me start of by saying that we have been dining at Amada since it first opened in Revel Casino (now Ocean Casino). While it has always been a bit on the expensive side, we enjoy the tapas style dining. Unfortunately, when we at there on 3/13/26 prior to seeing a show at Ocean the food was disappointing. The bacon wrapped dates which were always our favorite we not up to par. Tiny, missing the little pearl onions, overcooked, and no sauce, and the blue cheese all melted because it was put on too soon before serving. They have taken a few favorites off the menu so we had a hard time finding other things we liked. I had to ask for the tuna/cracker app that they usually serve free that arrives before the rest of the food. The Brussel sprouts were very good, the lamb meatballs were pretty much the same but the cheese/jam charcuterie was a joke. 2 tiny pieces of bread, 3 very thin slices of apple, a small dish of jam, and 2 pieces of cheese (could you spare it?) Had my birthday dinner here on Sunday. I really wanted to love this place again after a previous amazing meal/experience, but this visit wasn't as good as the last. The Wagyu steak, which was the highlight last time, was just mediocre this time and definitely not worth the $81 price tag. On the bright side, the sides were all DELICIOUS and the waiters and other service staff were wonderful--attentive, friendly, and helpful. They tended to my table when my waiter was tied up with a large party. Also, the manager was actively checking in on diners and showed genuine care for the experience. The only downside at the front was the hostess, who was quite dry and could have used a bit more warmth to welcome and interact with guests. My husband and I were staying at Ocean for our anniversary on a Sunday and the restaurant we usually frequent was closed. So, we made reservations for Amada. We looked at the menu ahead of time and were a little hesitant since it's mostly a tapas style menu and we are typically into apps, entrees, dessert situations, but there were several things we wanted to try. We were seated at a table near the bar by the windows. The view was great but the lighting was so dim it made it hard to see. More on this later. Our server greeted us and took our drink orders. My husband did one of the signature cocktails but I asked for an Aperol spritz with passionfruit. Not only were they willing to do it for me, it was divine! Our server was super helpful when it came time to order, since we didn't want to go overboard but wanted to make sure we got a decent variety of things to try. We opted for the bacon wrapped dates, garlic shrimp, patatas bravas, fideos, A5 Wagyu skewer, and the A3 strip steak. We wanted to try the Iberico pork but it was sold out. The "bread" service is what can best be described as pita-like chips and a tuna aioli with capers, which is reminiscent of a tuna salad. This is a very unique choice, but it was good. The bacon wrapped dates arrived first and were five small dates, wrapped with bacon, and stuffed with an almond. They were delicious and made us excited for what was to come. Next our A5 Wagyu skewer arrived. It was hard to see, since it was dark, but we took a photo with flash and were able to see that the horseradish cream was underneath and the chimichurri sauce was on top. The A5 is such a melt in your mouth cut of steak that the sauces were definitely overkill, and this is coming from someone who wants sauce on literally everything. The third item to come out was the garlic shrimp. This was about 7 tender shrimp sitting in a garlicky broth with little slices of baguette on top. We ranked the first 3 tapas as 1. Shrimp 2. Dates 3. A5. Shortly thereafter the fideos arrived. These were vermicelli noodles in a goat cheese sauce with Serrano ham, pistachio, and truffles. They were SO good! Highly recommend these. Then the patatas bravas arrived along with the NY strip. The patatas bravas are little crispy potato bites with a paprika aioli and they were so delicious too. While NY strip isn't a typical cut of steak we choose, in this case with it being A3, we wanted to give it a try. It arrived with 3 dipping sauces- a pepperocini style aioli, tomato romesco, and a shallot buerre blanc. The sauces were great and we couldn't choose a favorite. They all paired well with the steak. Despite being full and not needing another thing, we opted for the El Domingo for dessert. What's the El Domingo you ask? A sundae with dulce de leche filled churros, vanilla and chocolate gelato, whipped cream, candied walnuts, and cherries. It was the perfect ending to a delicious dinner. Terrible service on Sunday 1/18. Our bartender completely ignored my hubby & I but served everyone else around us. The specials that night we overheard but he never told us. When my hubby went to the bathroom, it was then that the bartender decided to ask me if I wanted another round. We came just for the day, and I had this spot on my must-try list. The hostess was warm and accommodating when I requested a window table for the ocean view. Though none were available, she seated us at the next best spot, close enough to enjoy the beautiful view. Meagan, our waitress, was an absolute gem. She even had on the cutest duck earrings! She partnered with a very kind gentleman (whose name I forgot--blame it on the wine!) and together they were attentive, friendly, and spot-on with their recommendations. We started with the garlic shrimp and clams, and Meagan insisted we try the bacon-wrapped dates. I gave her the side-eye at first (dates?), but BABY!!! One bite and I was sold. Even my 10yr old was raving. She told Meagan, "Five stars on the dates!" For the main, we shared the Paella Mariscos. My husband has a hearty appetite and even he couldn't finish it. The portion is huge, overflowing with seafood, and bursting with flavor. Brought my girlfriend here for her birthday and boy did they not disappoint! The place was busy with it being the start of March Madness. We had to wait a fee minutes on our 7pm reservation only because we requested the birdcage seating, which is totally understandable. We got water as soon as we sat down. Our waiter explained the menu in great detail, we both ordered drinks. My gf says their sangria is great, and I had a nice glass of red wine. Their setup is a bit different as when each plate that you ordered is ready it comes right out. Her diver scallops (smaller option) came out quick and she said they were delicious, along with the wild mushroom rice she ordered. I got the rack of lamb (smaller option) which were AMAZING. Shrimp was good Potatoes good Clams good Brussel sprouts were somewhere in the middle. I think they may have been small ones so they were falling apart and a little on the burnt side. I like a good char but these were deep fried according to the waiter. The paella was mixed. I don't think the lobster was fresh or it was a little undercooked. It was off - the shrimp looked like it was grilled and placed on top as it wasn't hot. I don't think they used enough stock as the rice wasn't done. But then, while I love a nice crust, you can see in the photo, it was burnt. 2 of 5 clams didn't open. I've had many paellas in ny, nj, Spain, and elsewhere. Definitely let our waiter know. Once you walk into Amada you're immediately transported to what feels like the South of Spain. The decor, ambiance, and incredible views of the water make this one of the best spots in Atlantic City. It's truly majestic and offers such a unique and elevated dining experience. We went for the Mother's Day Brunch Menu at $75 per person, and let me just say--it was worth every penny. The spread was unbelievable, from the beautifully designed decor to the exceptional service and, of course, the outstanding food. This is a place I would gladly return to for another special occasion, and I've already recommended it to several friends and family members. The dishes were so creative and stunning--both in presentation and flavor. My absolute favorites were the pernil, tortilla española, and the amazing selection of quesos and jamones. I loved how the food was served on beautiful Spanish wooden cutting boards, which added such a rustic and authentic touch to the whole experience. I also posted photos of some of the appetizers and the brunch menu for anyone curious about the options, which were immense! The staff were knowledgeable and attentive, which added that extra awe to the experience. You could tell they truly cared about the menu and creating an authentic dining moment. Although Chef José Garcés isn't Spanish himself, the execution was impressive, with so many thoughtful nods to Spain's culinary traditions and design. One of my favorite details was the design of the restaurant itself. The ambiance was calming and secluded, with beautiful tiled floors (no carpet--yay!), and the bathrooms were a standout. We had the Brussels sprouts and the rice with asparagus from the vegetable section, both were excellent. The scallop entree wasn't substantial but was very tasty. We stayed at Oceans for my friend's bachelor party and decided to eat here to celebrate. The restaurant overlooks the water and you can see the pier from your seats. Although, the staff was attentive and the tapas came out quickly the food was lackluster. The patatas bravas and the gambas al ajillo (garlic shrimp) were the standouts of the menu. Amada looks like a high end restaurant, and the service was good. But the food that's where it all fell apart. I am very familiar with tapas. I have eaten in tapas restaurants all over the US and abroad, and traveled extensively to Spain. The food tasted ok, but very much in the way that some chain restaurants have ok food. The portions were tiny even by tapas standards. The only main we ordered was the large size of the scallops. The price was $58 and the dish consisted of 4 small scallops cut in half. They were not even cooked well. Our waiter was great, and handled it well when we mentioned the issues we had. The manager stopped by and could not have cared less about our experience. The drinks were ok, but again not up to a fine dining standard. The restaurant was very loud the evening we were there, but that may have been a few rowdy tables. The food also flew out of the kitchen very fast pilling up on our table even though we asked for the dishes to be staged as we were having dinner with friends and wanted to relax. 48 hours later and I am still dreaming about their cured serrano ham with fig salad! This place has incredible food, and fully worth the price, except for maybe the deviled eggs and flatbreads. Just give us the second egg half, and add an inch or two to the flatbreads and you have the best restaurant in AC. Service was better at the seats than at the bar, but we were also seated at an awkward side of the bar, so kind of understandable. Do get the sangria, both are fabulous, we went with the red for dinner and the white for brunch, but both times we had to get the salad. Looks kind of weird but the goodness that is uncovered when you start opening it up is unmatched. Deviled eggs were good, but the octopus was better and a more decent portion for the price. Amada at Ocean Resort in Atlantic City is always a must-visit when we're in town. I stick to the paella and tapas everytime and honestly, that's all you need. The paella is always the star of the show; rich, flavorful, and consistently cooked to perfection. As for the tapas, I highly recommend the grilled octopus, garlic shrimp, lamb meatballs, crispy potatoes, and the green salad. Each dish brings something unique to the table and pairs perfectly with the rest. Only small gripe, they don't carry hot sauce. To me, the chicken didn't need to be in there. I like everything else except the chicken. Felt our of place. The broth was delicious and savory. It's rare that I rate five stars, but Amada blew me away. Had a reservation before seeing a show at the casino, started with a couple of gin and tonics, both delicious. Got going with small plates which were served very quickly-all delicious. It was interesting the way they handled Service; we had two servers who would stop by fairly frequently without intruding. They did a great job, making sure that all of our needs were met. It was a cool ambiance, looking out over the ocean, light music going. Disappointing Experience at Amada We will never return to Amada. There are simply too many other dining options available. It makes us wonder if the Ocean Resort intentionally hires the most incompetent servers. Upon being seated, our server, who introduced himself as Roger, approached us with an unusual demeanor reminiscent of a character from The Sopranos. While his personality was memorable, it felt out of place. He quickly rattled off the specials and took our drink orders before disappearing. When he returned with our drinks, we placed our food orders. Two of us chose the special Ceviche appetizer, one ordered "Prawns" (which were far from jumbo), and another opted for the Goat Cheese and Fig Jam. The "Prawns" and Goat Cheese arrived, but we were left waiting for the Ceviche. After about ten minutes, as we finished our other dishes, a food runner came to clear our plates and set down fresh utensils. We inquired about the missing Ceviche, but the runner had no idea what we were talking about. Where was our server? Nowhere to be found. The runner went back to the kitchen and returned to inform us that the Ceviche was still being prepared. Frustrated, we decided to cancel the appetizers. Three of us ordered the "special" Salmon over Risotto, while one person ordered a special 40oz steak cooked medium, as promised by Roger. When the food arrived, we received the salmon but no steak. Roger casually strolled by and asked how everything was. We informed him about the missing Ceviche, and he replied, "Oh, I'll get them now." We had to remind him that we had already canceled them, as they wanted to serve the appetizers alongside our entrees. Finally, the steak arrived, but it was already sliced and far from medium. It was practically mooing. We sent it back, and by this time, our salmon had gone cold. The second steak that came out was an improvement but still a hard medium rare. To top it off, the steak was so full of gristle that we ended up bagging it for our dog. When the check did arrive, this Server decided it was a good idea to tell us that the table next door kept ordering items which the kitchen "ran out on." This was NOT just 1 Special sold out, but a litany of Menu Items. It was awkward to hear this from an employee of the restaurant. And he was laughing about it. We're pretty sure the table next to us didn't find it amusing. No class for sure Rog. In summary, our experience at Amada was incredibly disappointing. The service was abysmal, and the food did not meet expectations. Roger might want to consider a different line of work. Just saying. read more

This review is specific towards the service from the hostess. The food itself is fine. Our experience: We had a reservation for 8:30 for 12 people on a Saturday night. We called ahead 3 weeks in advance to confirm this reservation, then followed up shortly before the dinner to reconfirm. This was a double birthday dinner so it was important to us that our reservation was confirmed. At around 8pm, we saw a large table that could seat up to 14 empty and available. We asked to be seated there, and the hostess was not interested in helping, just said no and refused to elaborate further. We did not push and simply asked to please let us know when a table was open so we could make our way back over. Come the time of dinner, we are told to wait another 45 minutes since the table wasn't ready. (What is the point of a reservation?) At this point, our group was getting hungry, so we just asked if the staff could push two bar tables together and we would just eat there. It was rather uncomfortable and dimly lit; these tables are for people eating at the bar and to watch the TV's, not for a proper birthday dinner. I have a strong suspicion it's because our entire group was Asian, and not a white-passing group. The empty table that could seat 14 was given to a group that just walked in and asked to be seated, instead of us, who called ahead, made reservations, and confirmed. A waitress even apologized to us during dinner that we weren't able to be seated at a proper table, and that she did not understand why the hostess didn't care to seat us at a proper table and instead gave away a suitable table to a group that walked in versus had a reservation. The fact that the waitress went out of her way to apologize to us shows us that we were valid in feeling mistreated by the hostess. Aside from the problems with just getting seated, the food itself took a while to come out (30-45 minutes). All in all, would not recommend. The food here isn't special enough to put up with vaguely racially-charged mistreatment. As a person of color and still a paying customer, I'm not surprised, just disappointed. read more

This is probably the best place to eat at if you are visiting Ocean. For dinner the table shared the tasting menu which included: The CHARCUTERÍA Y QUESOS - which was a super nice selection of options from the chef. COCA DE ALCACHOFAS Y SETAS ARTICHOKE & MUSHROOM Black Truffles, Manchego - This was one of the best small plates we got served. DÁTILES BACON-WRAPPED DATES Almonds, La Peral - Well, I take that back, maybe this was the best one! ENTRECÔTE 10 oz, Wagyu NY Strip, Snake River Farms - Amazingly, we actually could have passed on this one. There were a few others as well, including dessert. Overall, everything was very good to great and service was a bit on the "too quick" side, especially after being told things would take a while since they were busy. It was getting to the point where we were shuffling things on the table just to make room. Yes, it could have been better paced. Yet, in summary, like I started, this has been the best meal I have had at the Ocean. Is it a destination meal? Probably not, but if you are here then certainly make this your top choice. read more
