My buddy and I stopped in for the first time last night with a 9:00 reservation. We were seated promptly. We started with the NJ Diver Scallops, which came with a silky corn purée, chive oil, and a pop of tobiko. Yum! For dinner, we shared the 26 oz bone-in ribeye, cooked to a perfect medium rare and bursting with flavor. On the side, we had the 5 cheese lobster Mac, roasted asparagus, and potato purée. Every dish was spot on! Unfortunately, the service didn't quite match the quality of food. Our server took our order and then disappeared, we actually had to flag down another staff member to find him. Thankfully, the food was outstanding and everything arrived as it should, so we were able to enjoy the meal without needing much else. An amazing Steakhouse inside the gorgeous Ocean Resort. This Steakhouse falls right in line with the big boys.. Morton's, Capital Grille, even Mastro's. The bar is located in the front as soon as you pass the hostess stand and is giving sexy vibes with cool music playing in the background. We started with pre-dinner drinks as usual and our bartender was super friendly and made our drinks to perfection! The hostess came and got us once our table was ready. We were a bit surprised how crowded this high end Steakhouse was since it was a freezing cold random February weekend. Even with that, service was great. Everything came out in a timely manner except for the crab cake, which was a few minutes behind. The food was freakin delicious! We went with the bone-in Ribeye, Chilean Sea Bass, crab cake, and my hefty portion of lamb chops, which had me smiling until I couldn't eat anymore... Lol! Visited for happy hour on 10/28. Seated in the lounge area since the bar was full. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. Didn't catch her name but she had a slicked back long ponytail. I ordered a gin and tonic and hubby had a "Hey Jealousy." Both were good but hubby's drink was very good! To eat, we ordered the sliders, truffle fries, chicken and wontons. I love trying happy hours when I am in different places. I was looking for a Friday night happy hour in Atlantic City and I decided to go to Ocean Steak. If you don't pay attention to the signs on the casino floor, this venue can be hard to find. When I arrived, I sat at the bar. There is a great view of the boardwalk depending on where you sit. You can also sit at the tables by the bar and enjoy happy hour. I ordered the red wine of the day; it was a Pinot Noir. For the food happy hour choices, I ordered the crab wontons, waffle fries, gochujang wings, and smash burger tacos. The crab wontons were okay. I wish they were pan fried a bit more. When someone else's order came out. It was pan fried the way I would've preferred mine. The wings were delicious and cooked crispy as requested. The sauce on the wings were amazing. One of the best steak dinners I've ever had! From start to finish, the bread and butter, wedge salad, dinner itself and birthday dessert was unreal! Laurel was a fantastic server! About three years ago I came to this restaurant when it was called American Cut, and I wasn't impressed with the service or food. However my best friend wanted to dine here before a show so I was willing to try it again especially since it has a new name. I am SO glad we did! Our server, Bradford, was amazing, He took great care of us, making sure we'd be in and out in time for our show. We started with cocktails and their delicious bread offering with a veggie cream cheese like spread and moved onto the Double Smoked Bacon with fig jam, shaved pecorino, and balsamic reduction. It was melt in your mouth tender and the perfect beginning to a delicious dinner. My best friend and I opted for the Lemon Sole Francaise while my mother got the filet mignon with bernaise. For our sides, we had a difficult time deciding, but I knew they had thick cut delicious fries and I couldn't pass them up, so we went with them and the brussels. Very beautiful. Incredibly spacious, loads of tables. There are is so much movement going on around you! We made a reservation and we were seated at the exact time of our reservation. Very comfortable seating. The server did explain the menu (what's shareable). I am not sure if my hopes were too high but the experience did fall short. The rolls and veggie cream cheese as well as French onion soup were to die for. The steaks, the specialty of the restaurant, fell short. We got two identical steaks and they were cooked so drastically different. I ordered medium and it was literally half well, half medium so difficult to eat. The other steak was more rare than medium. The chimichurri was also very good, but I wish it had just a touch more garlic (if it even had any at all). I was also a little taken aback by the unsweet tea being charged $4 per glass. We are 1.5 hours before a show and it was the absolute perfect timing. We finished with about 8 minutes to spare before the show. read more

They brought it out and then took it and said they would mix it for me, which of course is nice, however, once they thoroughly mixed the soft egg into the noodles , it just was a pool of liquid and I never tasted the egg. Maybe it's just me but I find the upscale steakhouse formula pretty boring. Ala carte everything orbiting around a superior piece of beef that costs more on a per ounce basis than platinum. While the view at Ocean Steak is nonpareil, the service is uncharacteristically lethargic given the price point. So cue the Caesar Salad, Creamed Spinach and a more than adequate Bloody Mary. I'm giving it only 2 stars because even if we didn't have the experience we had with the food... there were parts of the experience I didn't love. First off... I don't listen to reviews that complain it's expensive. You can see the prices before you even go so that's on you! But if I go someplace really expensive I really want a particularly wonderful experience. This didn't meet this expectation. I took my sister and her two 16 year old daughters for a special treat while we were here in AC. Admittedly, we had wanted to go to the Ocean Casino's Italian place but the wait was long. Since this was nearby and I'd read the menu and some reviews I knew what we were getting into. I thought it would be sort of Ruth Chris-like. Our server (Tyler?) was exceptional. Quite attentive and friendly. We really enjoyed our appetizers, sides and desserts. But we were very unhappy with our steaks. I got the Ny Strip au poivre medium rare. It was a little too done but still within the zone so I didn't complain. It was oddly a little tough. But the sauce was great. Tho... overall it seemed a little salty. But I was ok with it. The real problem was that all three of my companions got ny strip medium well. Not my pick for cooking but their preference. But when we got them they were like shoe-leather done. Like more done than well done. They were just going to eat as much as they could...or try to...and leave the rest. They didn't want any 'fuss' made. But I felt like at $75 a piece in a steak place, I had to say something. I also eat out a lot and at a lot of nice places so feel pretty able to know when something is far from properly prepared. So I talked with our waiter and he graciously took them away and asked they be replaced. The challenge of course with shareable sides is then you have no entree... and your sides are sitting and getting cold or they are your only meal until the steaks return.... But after a bit, new steaks arrived. Like the first ones, they look pretty good on the outside. Clearly a decent piece of meat. But cutting into them... one was rarer than my medium rare and the other two were more like rare. Now it feels like they are just being spiteful. We contemplate just taking them home and cooking them up more as leftovers. Our server senses our unhappiness and sees the steaks.... He says he could take them for some more firing or talk to the manager, etc. I suggest since we've been here 3 hours already... and I'm just not loving the idea of taking these 3 expensive steaks home to cook more ourselves... maybe we could just get them off the bill and give up. And I said I'm happy to talk with the manager too. Both the server and the manager were quite gracious and apologetic. The manager did seem to be trying hard to get us to go with letting the 'head chef' fire them more...and saying how the staff was perhaps being extra cautious since we thought the others were too done. I felt moderately pressured to consider this option. But ultimately, at this point, we just want to wrap up and leave. And it's a STEAK place. Surely they occasionally have a mis-fire and redo it without leaving it close to rare. So we opt for having them off the bill. Despite all of this and the disappointment... we stayed on and had some lovely desserts. Our waiter was so kind. I rarely complain about anything so this was a truly exceptional set of circumstances... but if I wanted to get 3 NY strips and cook them myself, I could have done that for about the price of half of one of these so I just couldn't let it go. Now if all the food was perfect... I still didn't love some aspects of the experience. At a high end place like this-- mis-matched water glasses, blaring annoying music... no linens on the wood laminate tables... not even a free refill on a $4 iced tea? No salt or pepper or other table adornment is fine but it just felt stark and not particularly special which was contrary to what they were billing themselves as.... Especially since they aren't one of the spots with an epic ocean view... While our server was excellent and some of the items quite tasty... I wouldn't recommend this place with all the other options out there. read more

My wife and I visited the hotel on 2/20/25 and ate here because most of the other restaurants on premises were closed on Thursday evenings. We were a bit reluctant because we didn't want to do an expensive steak/lobster dinner, but also didn't want the food court or to leave the property, so we decided to try some alternate items we wouldn't normally order at a fine dining steakhouse. The food & drinks, from the bread, to our dinners, to dessert, were top notch - really excellent! My wife had the beet salad and seared crab cake appetizer as her dinner and loved it. I had the chicken franchaise and was pleasantly surprised. The chicken was high quality and cooked to perfection. The sauce was delicious, though different (in a good way) from the lemon sauce you would typically get from an Italian restaurant, pizzeria, or catering buffet. We did not regret not ordering steak and lobster at all! The desserts were incredible! The creme brulee was among the best I've ever tried - perfect consistency with a nice sweet crunch from the caramelized sugar. And the seven layer chocolate cake was equally impressive. The atmosphere is on par with other fine dining establishments, though it's unfortunate the dining room doesn't have a better view of the ocean. While we did experience a minor mishap in the restaurant on which I won't go into detail, the manager (Dominic) and staff were very attentive, helpful and empathetic in how it was handled, and we were appreciative of their professionalism and efforts. Confirm my reservation on-line, and showed up promptly at 6. When I arrived, I gave them my name, told them I had a 6 pm reservation, and the Hostess told me it would be about a 30 minute wait. Being the restaurant opens at 5pm, I'm not really sure how they could be 30 minutes behind on reservations in only one hour of being open. I have never had this happen in any restaurant before. It's not acceptable, so I decided to not dine at this establishment. If they can't even get reservations right, I didn't want to gamble pun intended, on this restaurant. read more

The Wagyu meatballs tasted like left over meat loaf. The Brussel Sprouts were good though, I've got to admit. But how is t he vegetables better than the steaks at a steak house is beyond me.
