Bartender, mature guy with a good attitude, waits tables too, and is pretty good at it. No nonsense service, we ordered a paloma and a beer with him right away. When he came back with drinks, we had our choices ready. I had an arugula salad with added grilled shrimp, split an order of buffalo wings and drooled over my husband's burger. The food here is excellent! It took awhile to get waters, but our dude got around to it eventually. The salad was cool and fresh but the olive oil and lemon dressing was pure oil. No worries, I used the ranch from the wings and all was good. I liked the shaved Parmesan and the fact that someone took the time to slice the tiny grape tomatoes, precious. Wings were crunchy and spicy in all the right places. The Squire Burger had huge pieces of maple bacon sticking out from two patties cheese and iceberg. The fries were perfect. The bun was fluffy and glistening on top. Beautiful. We were surprised at the small bill, but left very satisfied. Highly recommend!

The beer just didn't taste quite right to me, and the lines didn't seem as clean as they should. My fiancé ordered wings -- half Buffalo and half garlic. Neither flavor was particularly impressive on its own, but he discovered that combining the garlic with the Buffalo sauce was actually awesome! One thing he really liked was how crispy the wings were. We normally have to ask for extra crispy, but these came out that way without asking. I went with the burger recommendation after hearing from a couple of people that this was the best burger place in town. It definitely had good flavor, but "the best"? I disagree. My biggest issue was that the burger seemed to go straight onto the bun without being given time to rest, leaving the bottom bun completely saturated with grease and fat. The burger basically fell apart, so I ended up eating it with a fork and knife. The burger came with tater tots, which were cooked and crisped to perfection. Unfortunately, they had almost no flavor. A little salt or seasoning would have made a huge difference. Overall, if you enjoy a dive-bar atmosphere with pleasant service that isn't overly chatty, this place should check your boxes. For us, though, the food was more of a mixed bag than a standout.

Well, the "Irish Pub" you know from the Monopoly game is actually this real property, "The Irish Pub and Inn", here on St. James Place in Atlantic City. Also, the game's iconic red hotel design inspired the game's red hotels, making it a real-life landmark for Monopoly fans. During most of the year, this legendary, 24/7 pub is famous for its unique, memorabilia-filled atmosphere and historical ties to AC, the Monopoly game, prohibition, etc., attracting visitors who enjoy its authentic, home-style vibe. But during Christmas, its decorations are on a whole other level of amazingness. Photos will not permit you to understand just how fantastic the volume and scope of lights, ornaments and figurines abound all around the restaurant and bar areas. The owner starts decorating weeks before Christmas adding new items each day through Christmas. You can't miss catching the Christmas spirit here, while taking in some spirits! It is a cash only venue. Make sure to come prepared. But if not? They do have an ATM onsite to help pay for the classic fish and chips or / AND the St James Potatoes. Those fries are like a poutine for those who know. The service is no frills but provided with pride and a smile, always. You can never go wrong here for a quick, basic, and satisfying meal and drink at reasonable prices in good company.
