My wife was talked to disrespectful by two patrons by the bathroom then while telling the doorman an extremely rude female server jumped into her conversation and spoke to her like shit. She asked to speak to mgr and was told by doorman there was no mgr working lol The place was mobbed there is no way no mgr was working. The girl working the seating list was amazing and our waitress was great. Owner may want to cut some of the weak staff like the door guy and rude waitress. This place is terrible! First time there..I was at a table with my family..:we ordered food . 4 cheesesteaks 3 fries and a burger. After 20 minutes the 2 cheesesteaks came out. 10 minutes later the fries came out. About 7 minutes the other side cheesesteaks came out. After that another 10 minutes the cheeseburger came out. So asked the waitress to address the delay. She said there is nothing she can do but she the manager (who apparently is the owner over) . She came over and was very condescending saying that we should go across the street to eat at Boccas. Made us feel like we had unreasonably expectations. She then sent over 2 people to remove us from the establishment. Honestly we were reasonable with our speaking to them but she did t want to hear it. Food was not good! Beware! read more

Let's not bury the lede, Robert's is a total dive bar; it's also the perfect down the shore restaurant, located a block away from the beach. My favorite part of this place is the daily lunch and dinner specials every single day. They have their standard menu as well, but every single day they put out new offerings, and every single one sounds, and tastes, really good. The Black and Blue Ribeye, and the Chirper Blackened Chicken are two of my favorites. The quality is there, it's a nice portion size, and reasonably priced considering the area. read more

Roberts place is definitely a scene. The inside was a very loud bar which can be really fun at times the outside tables for fall and the service was really great. It's basically bar food including a lot of seafood. Our lobster mac & cheese bites didn't taste anything other than the fried. And my husband's wings for OK. After a beautiful mid September beach day and shower I used Yelp to find the nearest bar and off we walked to Robert's Place. This is as close as one will get to a neighborhood bar by the ocean with a good bit of locals as clientele. We walked inside and asked if we could sit outside as the weather was beautiful. The bartender was very friendly and instructed us to sit wherever we would like. After a few minutes a very nice server took our order. It was about 5:30 PM and at first we were the only patrons outside. Inside was at least two thirds full. Robert's has a small selection of beer, nothing too exotic or many craft beer. We chose the seasonal selection which was Samuel Adams Octoberfest. While waiting for our wives we had another round and by this time the outdoor seating was filling up and food was being served. The food menu was fairly standard bar fare with some seafood items. The food I saw coming out looked good. I liked Robert's and I would most likely stop by for a beer the next time I am in Margate on a warm sunny day. I did not like two things about Robert's. First it is cash only, I hate that and come one man. Second, if a patron wants water (which we did not) the only option is to pay for bottled water. Is it that expensive or that much trouble to fill a glass with ice and water? On the plus side my wife tells me they serve fresh squeezed orange juice in the morning. The best seafood restaurant in the area charges less for clams casino and steamers and they offer a nice, CLEAN bar. My husband and I brought a friend here for a drink and a bite to eat . This place had been recommended so we thought that we would give a try . I had mussels with white sauce (tasteless). Our friend got 4 shrimp and mozzarella sticks . My husband got the King Crab legs at market price . They where so soggy you could bend them . We tried the cracking tool but it just mashed the legs. So he had to cut them open with a knife just to get to the soggy crab . We complained and the chef says that is how they served. Best local place on the island. The first time we went we felt like we belonged. Friendly. Comfortable atmosphere where you can be yourself. Dinner is always great, but when did the shrimp special become an appetizer? I get it, prices are going up on everything. I for one would rather pay 19 or 20 dollars and get a decent amount of food. Complete disregard for common sense and the person who talked to us showed no remorse. No one should pay money to fund these disrespectful people. I hope they see this and are appalled.
