Expensive. 4 good meals + 1 bad meal. Bad meal sent back and the exact piece of fish was returned without a fork, overcooked and tasteless. Dessert brought out with no one having forks. Coffee brought out without cream. Cream brought out finally after request but coffee was cold. With their current pricing, service should be impeccable and was less than average. Our first time here and overall enjoyed it! Service was very good and our waitress was very attentive. Noise level unfortunately was very loud and would have eaten outside if the weather was better. Appetizer of Grilled romaine lettuce came out too soggy and for $27 not worth it!! Entree of short ribs very tasty but risotto tasted like plain rice and scallops were undercooked for my taste! Came here for my birthday dinner and it was very lovely! The staff are friendly and attentive. No one is wearing masks.... so I'm a little scared... the food is deliscious! I LOVED the food here. I am a meatball snob and their meatball appetizer tasted like I was sitting on a stool in my grandmother's kitchen. I had their Halibut special (WOW --- just WOW). I looked at the other reviews and I am skeptical about "pricey" they are in Longport (the Dairy Queen is pricey). The reviews on their drinks... I absolutely believe the drink changes with the bartender sooooo I don't put much stock in a review that complains about one drink. My husband had the Veal on the regular menu and LOVED it. Even the reviews dragging this score down admit it. There's nothing bad about the food and Julianna was tremendous helping us out. We had the filet, bone-in veal chop, lobster Mac and cheese side, and the chips which replaced bread for the table and wasn't great but whatever. If you're down the shore there is not much for higher end dining. Catch is your place- everyone crying about the service, go eat some boardwalk fries and fried Oreo. Absolutely delicious! Made our reservation and were walked right in to an array of foods with zesty flavors and bright colors. Instantly a fan of the different type of setting Catch offers. Felt like I was at a restaurant right on south beach. The service was incredibly hospitable and attentive. Thank you to our great server Adriana, she guided us through her picks and favorites around the menu. Can't possibly pick a favorite but all the food selections on the menu didn't stray far from delicious seafood dips and toppings and I was not mad about it. Ridiculously overpriced, low quality food. Staff constantly hovered over our adult party of 4 to try and clear our not yet empty plates away (I guess so they could get more customer turn-over). Extremely annoying and unfair! Main courses are all served a la cart so my $45 overcooked Bronzino fish cost $55 once they brought my $10 side of steamed spinach (which arrived AFTER I had finished my fish!). Catch is a great - yup, catch! This was a fantastic dining experience. It began with our pleasant, wily, server Karen (name may be wrong) recommending we order the truffle cheese steak flat bread (note: do NOT eat here without ordering this), and culminated with a crafty junior server, reminiscent of a young Ray Liota (RIP) from Goodfellas except slinging a frangella-baileys cordial instead of cigarettes, offering to pick up the cost of the drink if we didn't enjoy it. He had us at hello and it was the perfect nightcap enjoyed with our brownie and bread putting sundaes (you can choose any ice cream flavor you want as long as it's vanilla). In between I enjoyed a delicious salmon entree preceded by fried burrata and breaded shrimp. The various martini concoctions were punchy and refreshing, especially the engorged and saturated lychee in my martini with that namesake. We will be going back! read more

Was informed I would be changed $35 per person (x 4) total $140 for not cancelling two days prior by noon. No where prior to making the reservation does it say anything about cancelling two days prior to the reservation. In addition, you must cancel with a live person on the phone. You cannot cancel by leaving a message on their answering machine. A shame I lost $140. However, I hope this message reaches enough people who will think twice before making a reservation with them. read more

I've literally written only a handful of reviews in my life, but given the overall experience last Saturday night, I felt the need to share an opinion on the dining experience last weekend. After working out babysitters for the kids, getting a reservation at a reasonable time, and getting extremely excited to finally check out Catch, to say I was excited about trying Catch was an understatement. My overall experience was pretty awful. Our reservation was at 8:15, and the hostess sat us down 10-15 minutes later, not a huge deal. After placing our order a few minutes later, it took until well after 9:00 to get our drinks. By 9:15-9:30 our server came over, and while we were hopeful he was coming to share our food was ready, he mentioned the kitchen lost our ticket, and he wanted us to re-place our order. An hour and a half later, we were debating just getting wawa instead, since it may take another hour to get our food. We were pretty fed up. Finally, with the service so poor, we asked for a manager. When the manager came over she seemed totally disengaged, and disinterested in making anything "right". She did bring over potato chips, but chips by 10pm was too little too late. After leaving and heading to Saltwater (which served us within minutes of arriving), we reflected a bit on the experience. I think the issue is that during Covid, with an ability to open up serving outdoors, and nearly double their OPPORTUNITY to serve while keeping their kitchen CAPACITY the same, they got a bit greedy. As a result, quality dropped, customer service experience dropped, and our experience is being had by several tables nightly. We also thought that they must know this. So our hunch is that Catch is willfully providing inferior quality of the experience but absorbing that "cost" if it means growth to their top line. That said, HAD the manager been a bit more understanding, HAD they tried to expedite a few appetizers, HAD they done more, we likely would have stayed. None of these measures were taken and as a result we left and likely will not be going back again. Extremely disappointed, but too many good options on the island with far superior customer service to try. read more

We went last night with 5 people. Menu choices were excellent from starters through entrees. Making a choice was difficult which was a good thing . Quality and presentation of our food choices were also great . Service very attentive . Bar service also spot on. Ambience and vibe inside were quite enjoyable. Overall a wonderful experience . Just went to the first Wednesday night opening and the food was off the charts!. We started with the new fried Barada appetizer that was absolutely delicious. Celebrated my boys 21st birthday at Catch, my favorite restaurant on the Island, the food once again did not disappoint, for appetizers we had Margaretta Pizza, Cha Cha Shrimp, Calamari & Peas and my all time favorite the Grilled Romain Salad covered with shrimp & crab, that alone is a meal! For the entrée the majority of us chose the special, Gnocchi with crabmeat and shrimp in a spicy vodka sauce, the sauce was excellent with loads of crabmeat. The Scallops were delicious and the Filet was perfectly done, tender and juicy! Also, want to give a shout out to the bartender, the Watermelon Martini was a huge hit and refreshingly delicious, a must try! Horrible horrible service. It's a shame because I will say the food was excellent. Our waitress left in the middle of our dinner and was nowhere to be found. No other waitress or anyone came out to check on us or anything. We never received our sides we ordered. When clearing the plates we had half our meals left and asked them to be boxed up, no one ever came back out with the boxes. Finally another waitress who was not our waitress came to our table and when we asked to see our original waitress she told us she was gone. No apologies or anything for the terrible service. This is not a restaurant this is a nightclub that happens to serve food. Started off with the Cha-Cha shrimp- They were pre-cooked frozen shrimp That they bread and flash fried served in a premade sauce. The description should speak for itself tasteless and oily. The next course I was served was attitude from the waitress. One of the dishes my daughter had ordered as an appetizer was a margarita pizza, I wouldn't call it a margarita pizza I would call it sauce, sauce and more sauce with a little bit of cheese on top and cracker crust. Needless to say with my daughter wouldn't eat it and she asked if we wanted it to go and I said no thank you she made a face at us and then complained to another waitress in the back saying there's something wrong with these people. The final course that I was served was another waitress was clearing the table and spilled my cocktail on my lap after sitting in a pool of my own drink they finally brought me some thing to wipe it up and then asked me if I'd like to order another, When I asked the waitress is this drink you or on me she said of course on you. Not in a joking manner she meant you are paying for another drink if you want a new one. There's a reason why we were able to book a table of five last second on a busy Saturday over the summer time. Restaurants typically with a vest availability should've been overlooked. There are many choices in restaurants at the Jersey shore. But few can actually check off all the boxes. "Catch" was a pleasant surprise. The atmosphere was intoxicating, as everyone seemed busy and excited to be there. All our meals were absolutely delicious. Very reminiscent of what I remembered when they owned Joe Peces in Collingswood. We enjoyed the appetizers, especially the signature grilled romaine with crab. I tried the Lobster Fra Diavlo. It had just the perfect amount of spice and was a hearty combination of seafood and pasta. If you savor your dining experiences then Catch must be on your list. read more

Def not what i was expecting- however when i spoke manager she agreed with me about and apologized bc the shrimp was supposed to be jumbo; and clearly they were not. She removed 7$ off the meal..and I happily ate it. It was very good but and my boyfriend enjoyed his meal, however you could probably make the "chefs signature dish" yourself at home for 12$ and it would taste the exact same .
