(This is a 4.5 star review) I went to anchorage tavern with my friend's family on a Saturday night. It was pretty busy when we arrived around 6:45. We waited around 25 minutes, but that's kind of to be expected as a large group (there were 12 of us). I was in an alcohol mood, so I ended up ordering the cucumber mojito and a berry rum drink (both $11-14). I wasn't a huge fan of the cucumber drink, but I really liked the rum! It tasted like a berry smoothie. For food, we ordered mozzarella sticks ($11) for the table, which were a huge hit. Everyone was raving about the mozz sticks and apparently this place is well known for them (for good reason). There was an epic cheese pull and they were fried really well for a nice crunch on the outside. As an entree, my friend and I split the seafood posolippo ($28) with white sauce, linguine, clams, shrimp, scallops, mussels, and mahi mahi cooked in Chardonnay and mixed with Italian spices. It was delightful and a seafood lovers dream. Add a touch of lemon for the perfect bite. I liked this place! It's a louder pub feel, but the staff knows what they're doing. You also get a decent amount of bread, which is always a win. :)

Always a great time and meal at the Anchorage! Our last 2 times there we lucked out with porch seating! Can't beat the views on the bay there. An institution in Somers Point for vacationers in Ocean City to get a meal and a drink. Closed mondays tho!

Amazing place to eat. We arrived and had to wait 15 minutes for table, but it was worth the wait. We sat down and ordered wings well done. Those wings were amazing. They were well done to our liking with a spicy sauce. We ordered a cheese burger, lobster Mac and Cheese, a Philly Cheesesteak, and two children burgers. The food was amazing. It was one of the best Philly Cheesesteaks I have ever had and that's because they use cheese wiz. Our waiter was great and stayed on top of the table. The place is clean with plenty of staff to take orders. They have a parking lot and overall it was an amazing experience. It did cost me a t-shirt since I got wing sauce on it, but it was well worth it.

Great fun friendly bar atmosphere! It would be great if there was a happy hour! We were seated in less than 5 mins. Our dinner entrees were really amazing! Great variety of seafood choices, but the entire menu has something for everyone! You will be satisfied & happy!l Parking is availablelGuy Fieri APPROVED too!

What kind of mozzarella sticks with these?

If you don't know, The Anchorage is a local bar, which Shoobie appeal. Very comfortable Porch, tavern and dining room seating with TVs covering every sight line. First off the beer batter mozzarella sticks are amazing!!! With that out of the way we were here during a 4:00pm Eagle's game so lots of locals and a good thing the Eagles were winning. They have a good selection of local and premium beers on tap. My wife thought the seasonal drink list was also pretty good. My Grilled Cheese was not great, but my wife's Anchorage chicken melt was phenomenal. So I'll be getting that next time.

Food was pretty good. Mozz sticks were homemade and lightly pan fried. These were the star of the show. Salad was just ok. Italian dressing was most likely a cheap Sysco brand and just not good. Please make your own dressing. Guy Fieris dish was a solid B. Food was lukewarm, but kind of tasty. Honestly, was a bit disappointed. The atmosphere was nostalgic. Loved the memorabilia. Historically, a cool place to see. The server was sweet and attentive, the food could use improvement, but was satisfactory overall.

This busy popular spot in Somers Point NJ was a mixed bag on our visit. We had a hour wait,no problem we expected that. Belly up to the bar to find three bartenders all on one side of the bar where the service bar is and I'm guessing regulars they might favor. Took a good 15 minutes to make eye contact with one of them, and not exactly a warm reception. We ate outside which was nice on a pleasant summer evening. Oyster shooters were a little dry without much oyster liquor and a splash of cocktail sauce (I'm thinking preshucked and prepped ahead??) calamari was on point, entrees were all tasty served in a timely manner with exception of the buffalo chicken tender salad which one of our guests had gotten there before, maybe 3 pieces of chicken on top, ouch! Good price point for the quality overall.

Great food. Great atmosphere. Great service. We ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich, a bowl of seafood bisque, and the lobster Mac and cheese app. The Mac and cheese was flavorful and creamy, the bowl of bisque was a large portion and the chicken sandwich was ridiculous. Just check out the pics!! It was three times the size of the Kaiser roll. Great flavor and plenty to share. We even had extra for leftovers. Check this place out if you are in Somers Point..

Food is consistently good. The service is always spot on. Only issue is they don't take reservations

This time we came to see our friend playing music in the bar area. The bar was crowded for 4:00pm but we found a table which worked well for us. I went to the bar to get my wife and I some beers and the bartender served us right away. I asked if we could get menus for the table and she sent over our server. He was great. He took our order quickly and came back often to the table to see if we wanted anything else. When I read the menu before coming I knew I really wanted to try the tacos. Between my wife and I we got to try 4 types: - Tuna: This was delicious. One of the best tuna tacos I've ever had. They used a nice strip of good tuna meat and seared it with a nice spice blend. - Mahi Mahi (grilled), Mushroom, Shrimp (fried): all were very good The only reason for only four stars was the price for the tacos. Compared to other restaurants that sell tacos they run roughly a dollar more than most establishments. However the quality of the tuna in my opinion does justify the higher price.

My son and wife loved the bacon, blue burger and the surf and turf burger. I got the chicken Parm linguine and I'm thinking maybe I should've got a burger. The "Italian" sauce is way too sweet. I'm thinking too much basil. The chicken didn't taste fresh I guess. I don't know how else to describe it. Our server was super busy, but still did a really good job. Again the burgers and fries are good so I would stick with that or the Pizza or Mexican next time.

Our drinks and water were refreshed without asking, which is great! The Dining Room was clean and the Ladies Powder Room was well stocked. Our salad greens were fresh and the blue cheese dressing was cold and freshly made. We started with the Crab Imperial Onion Rings (which were crispy inside and topped with creamy and hot Crab Imperial, then split The crab cakes which were perfectly done. There's a nominal fee (less than $8) to split the meal, but totally worth it because each diner receives a crab cake (which is rather large and made with real crab meat) along with an ample serving of the two sides that come with the meal. (We chose the mixed vegetables and roasted potatoes which were cooked perfectly. The veggies were crisp but not hard and the potatoes were soft but not mushy.) Overall, 10 out of 10!
