Overall just okay. Service and food, just okay. Interior is dated, but was very clean. Food came out incredibly slow. We ordered an open faced sandwich and chicken parm sandwich with a side of fries. It was around 25-30min from the time we ordered to the time it was served. Side of fries was so small, I would not have ordered if I knew. They were also pretty hard/overcooked. Food was okay, everything needed salt and pepper, but at least it was hot. Mashed potatoes tasted like instant potatoes. Our server and everyone else was very polite, but may have been new. Never refilled drinks, checked on us about 3 minutes after giving the food and we didn't see him again. Overall we won't go out of our way to come back.

The place has typical American diner foods. The food in this place is consistent so you know what you get

    Dining room.

They have the best Crab Cakes, I've ever eaten. My husband loved the eggplant parmigiana and spaghetti, sauce/gravy was perfect. My God, even the sides of mac and cheese, and stewed tomatoes were delicious. Outstanding food. Service was exceptional. Staff was professionally trained. Chef's incredibly good and creative. Ambiance is clean, artistic, and calm. Lovely place, we were impressed and will be frequent diners here. Signed, A foodie, born and raised, at the Jersey Shore.

Sunday morning and there is a line. About 10 minute wait

Spent the night down the shore at my friends' place and the next morning she had plans for us to go to her go-to breakfast spot. Parking is available on premise and plenty of it but got full pretty quick. It was about 10am and there was a line out the door. For a table of 7, it took about 20 minutes to get seated. Ended up ordering my go-to diner breakfast: two eggs, bacon and tater tots (substituted home fries which I usually get). The eggs were cooked perfect and the bacon was nice and crispy and the tater tots were extra extra crispy. I will probably not order tater tots for breakfast because it's not healthy, at all lol it was tasty but def getting the home fries for breakfast. Coffee was fresh and solid. I could see why this is a town favorite and if I was in the area this would be the spot I would go to for breakfast. Service was good at first but our waitress disappeared and we had to get service from another waitress until our waitress reappeared. She did apologize though :) * BACON surprised me because they were not small and shriveled up for how crispy they were. They are not stingy with the bacon!

We go many times thru the season and our kids enjoy it too, now third generation. The experience is what we look forward to; dining on the water, enjoying local seafood, and beautiful sunsets! I haven't reviewed them for a reason, I simply have never been impressed (at all). I'll start this with the fact that they really need to change their menu description, putting "fresh" in front of every menu item is silly. Maybe it should say: "previously frozen...now thawed" instead; but I guess that doesn't have the same ring to it. Most of the food over the years has been extremely bland and if breaded it's bought that way and with way too much breading. We have stuck to the seafood options and had most of what's on the menu. A few of the most disappointing have been the "Shrimp from Hell", simply cocktail sauce drizzled with hot sauce, the "Crab Balls" which are mainly breading with a little back fin mixed in, and the calamari which is overbreeded, under seasoned and tough. Some of the tried and true that are decent are the steamed clams, the fried clams (but again thick breading) and surprisingly on this last trip the "Lobster Mac and Cheese" balls. Now first, I'm not expecting high cuisine here, you can literally walk onto the dock with a cooler on wheels and sit at your picnic table. The atmosphere is okay but lack of background music makes it uncomfortable at times (nothing worse than having to listen to the people three tables over discuss their latest doctor's visit). The staff is always great. These two reasons are why they are getting three stars instead of two. I would at least want something that tastes a little better than mediocre at best. In fact, this past visit they actually tasted much better but that's likely due to the fact that we ate in every other seafood restaurant in Sea Isle first, before coming to Mike's. Are they great, nope, not even close. For Sea Isle and the surrounding area's they are towards the top. Needless to say, you can have fun, temper your expectations for good food, enjoy some cocktails and the views.

My sister isn't a breakfast person and she liked her grilled chicken wrap. And we all shared the French toast which was good as well. As a girl from Pittsburgh, I also loved that they had Heinz ketchup. The staff was great. It was busy the whole time we were there. We will definitely be going back.

It is BYOB so don't forget your wine.. or even margaritas (that's what we brought this time lol) The place can get crowded so expect to wait a bit during peak season. They don't take reservations but you can put your name in and wait outside their shop or even hang by the dock to the left of their place. The dock is not huge but a nice size and can sit up to groups of 8 easily at some of their tables. They do a full service dinner and includes their Caesar salad and bread with a delicious olive oil sundried tomato dip. The dinners come with 2 sides or 1 side of pasta. My favorite is their crab cakes or any crab stuffed dish. My other favorite if you are feeling hungry is the crab Marie. It's a fettuccine pesto light cream sauce with an abundance of lump crab meat. The seasoning is delicious on all their dishes is amazing. Full of flavor and butter. If you aren't into dining in or waiting get their takeout. It's just as good!
