First of all an apology for taking so long to get with one of the best places to eat around . We…read moremoved down a couple years back oct 24 and finally made it TBD. A lovely greeting on entrance. My wife and I used to work at an iconic eatery in phila called Taylor's country store and both of us looked at each other and said we get the same vibes. The decorations were just what you'd hope for in an eclectic little restaurant. Located on the edge of the villas maybe 15 mins from wildwood and cape May if you're visiting down the beach or shore don't sleep on this place. Now for the food we were looking for lunch we have our go to spots but wanted to change it up and I'm so glad my wife chose TBD. Has a great menu with something for everyone. I got a hot roast beef because it's one of my favorites. Side of fries hand cut. First the sandwich was everything I had hoped for I go a couple Roast beef sand places but this has shot to the top. Gravy on the side is how it came and it was just what the sand was meant for ciabatta roll soaked it up perfectly, no prob I'm not a fan of the disintegrating gravy sand I like to control the gravy. Roast beef was thick but not out of control thick, didn't need sharks teeth to bite through it. And not any gristle which definitely mattersHorseradish on the side a little bite not your make your nose run hot but hot enough. Hand cut fries delicious crispy hot and a perfect pairing to dip in the gravy. The pickle was exactly how you want a deli pickle to be crunchy fresh and sharp flavored w real dill I will say it again perfect . My wife had the burger it was huge tasty I know because I had half the right amount of everything. She chose the fresh homemade chips they were marvelous too I know because I grudgingly gave up a few fries to have some chips. It was big enough she said she would be skipping dinner. Anyway it's the kind of place you leave saying I can't wait to go back and try the other choices because you know they will all be made with culinary care and taste great. Don't step nod or miss this place. Being on weight watchers I know I'm gonna regret finding it, but you shouldn't it's on rt 47 the sign w the two black dogs sorry no pics of the food but I was hungry and scarfed it down before thinking

The food took forever - almost 50 minutes from when the appetizer was finished and the 3 sandwiches arrived. The server came over twice to tell us "it's almost ready" The food was burnt - dry - overall not great. No one in our group enjoyed it.

Service by Becca was exceptional. Nice, friendly, attentive; she was a big part of making our evening a success. Two of us had the 5 course tasting menu and that was very enjoyable. Not being a chocolate person the only course I was not a big fan of was the dessert. All the other courses had a great combination of flavors and were cooked to perfection. Usually tasting menus are just that with a small taste at each course. However, the last main course (NY strip) was the size of the normal entrée. So you will definitely have plenty to eat! We would definitely recommend the tasting menu. My wife had the heirloom tomato and Burrata salad to start and the Seabass for her entrée. The salad was excellent and highly recommended but she thought the Seabass was a little fishy tasting, slightly overcooked, and seemed more like trout. I was surprised at the stacked thin filet strips with skin vs a thick portion you usually see for Seabass.

I had the fusilli pasta and to be perfectly honest I could make something better in my own kitchen with the exact same ingredients. And it would be about a thousand times cheaper. Their "artisanal cheese platter", which we got for the table, cost $20 and had about 3 or 4 bites of food on it... but hey, at least it's good for instagram.

This year we decided to return for our anniversary and I'm sad to say this was our last visit to Provence. What a disappointment! We started with a $9 bread basket and the inside of the bread was frozen! We told our server and they brought us a new one at the same time as our appetizers. They really should have taken off the bill. We didn't even eat it. The appetizers (mussels, lobster ravioli, and french onion soup with mushrooms) were very good. The entrees were awful. The trout was really salmon (I know the difference although it can be subtle). It was overcooked and served with overcooked cous cous and frozen, shriveled peas. The short rib was over salted and topped with banana pepper slices straight from the jar and some kind of salty chips over a parsnip, mashed potato yuckiness. Also, we noted on the reservation that this was a birthday and anniversary dinner and it wasn't even acknowledged by the staff. It's evident the "chef" was not the same as our last visit. The food and the service were below average at best. It's a shame.

The dining rooms, table arrangements, and the silverware are so elegant. All the food that came out was plated so beautifully, look at the pictures. I loved the Duck Confit over the waffles. The duck was cooked very tender and it went well with the waffles/syrup. The omelet had this really savory gruyere cheese that we loved. I think my favorite dish would be the beignet tree. They were fresh, crispy on the outside, and soft and warm on the inside. All three sauces that came with them were out of this world, but I think my favorite one was the raspberry sauce. The prices for what you get aren't too bad either, it was $25 for bread, entree, and drink. I would definitely recommend trying this place at least once for a special occasion.
